Last week we coordinated with Zachary Bristol with his company Straight Edge Painting to remove the popcorn ceiling work throughout our home. We discovered Zachary’s company through reading about his company’s work on Angie’s List. His many excellent reviews on Angie’s List made it an easy choice to set up a meeting to coordinate an estimate. Zachary met with us immediately. He was very positive and genuine; he had an estimate to us the next day. Zachary’s sincere manner and pride in his work convinced us to work with him. We are so glad that we did. Since removing the popcorn work is quite a process, there was not simply the removing of the popcorn in each room, there was the repairing and smoothing of the drywall and ridding the ceiling of any imperfections which are easily hidden within the popcorn. Our ceilings had marks from the air conditioning vents. They needed a great deal of work. We commissioned Zachary and his team for this job while we were out of town. This work creates a lot of dust and debris. It is simpler to complete this work when there is not a family in the house. Zachary kept us up to date with how the work was progressing. When we returned, we were amazed at the transformation of our home. We had no idea that by simply removing the popcorn work from the ceilings and smoothing out the drywall and leaving a white, smooth appearance that our home’s look would change so completely. Our family room’s vaulted ceiling seemed higher, more pronounced and looks better than ever. The rooms had been vacuumed and dusted; the couches had been vacuumed or they appeared to have been. I know that the rooms were covered in order to protect the furniture and other items in each room. Zach Bristol and his fellow professionals definitely went above and beyond our expectations of having this important project completed. A few of our neighbors stopped by to see his work. They were definitely pleased. We are also very pleased at the work that Zachary Bristol and his team completed for us. I strongly recommend him for any future ceiling work or painting that an individual needs to have completed. He will not disappoint.

We have been incredibly pleased with Zach and his crew at Straight Edge Painting. We did a good bit of research before we hired someone to redo all of our ceilings (get rid of popcorn and put up knock down). We met with at least 5 different companies and were either let down when they did not show, their prices were through the roof, or they made promises that never came to fruition. Zach came to our house, gave us a straight-forward quote and an informative manual about things to look for and questions to ask. He is incredibly responsive via phone, text, and email, and got us in within a few weeks. As promised, his crew was on time every day for the week they worked with us. They were courteous and respectful, not to mention cheerful and friendly. Since we opted to stay in our house during the week while they were working (we have several dogs and a cat), the crew, in addition to working all day, cleaned up the house as much as possible each night so that we could use the bathroom, kitchen, and bedroom. The job progressed as planned and there were no surprises or delays. It appeared that Zach managed his crew very well and they praised him for being a fair and generous boss. The workers were very professional and went above and beyond to make sure everything was done right. Although Zach had warned us that the taping might remove some of our wall paint, we did not have to do any additional work because his crew touched up all of the spots with paint we had left over. The house looks so much better now with the new ceilings and we are incredibly happy with the work. We plan to use Zach and his crew for many more projects in the future and hope you do too!

The owner Zack Bristol was absolutely incredible to work with he knows this business of painting and very helpful brings you you color charts to help show you all colors that would help you decide on the color of your home. Zack’s also known what’s the best paint to use for you making your selecting the right color and helps by suggesting do you want to choose a flat or semigloss and will also tell you that going with your lighter colors will help brighten up your walls, and also in some cases by using of semigloss paint on your walls will help brighten the whole room area. Zack’s team guys are absolutely awesome to work with they all do wonderful work and are on time every day! Also the team is very talented and carful with your items making sure that they are covered up and make sure that all your items will be not be damaged. And work complete and done they put your items back where they were in your room. Plus they are very clean and they are careful and do clean up after they are completely done with your painting job of your home!! So Zack’s and his whole team family are again awesome and if I could I would definitely give them 10 stars! But I will definitely give them a 5 Star rating! The Crew of Zac's (Brandon and Bryce) were so courteous and professional from the start of the job to the end. They were so thorough and maticulous when prepping the house prior to painting and walked the entire site with me prior to beginning the job to ensure that everything was addressed that needed extra attention. The wood that was being painted was very old and had been lacking a good painting. With that said, normally what would be regular painting procedures, they went way above and beyond to apply additional paint which was superb to say the least. The best part about this entire job was their caulking techniques. They were so thorough and maticulous and it looks so awesome! We are planning another job in a couple of weeks and have requested Brandon and Bryce to return at our request to Zac. Additionally, we had other vendors at our house doing other work and we brought to their attention that we were not satisfied with the job of another contractor and we showed them what the contractor had done. Brandon and Bryce immediately addressed the issue and cleaned it up and made it look professionally even though it was not part of their job responsibilities. Also, Zac returned to our house for a final inspection their work and he too had offered up his services to correct what the other contractor had failed to completed from an installation standpoint.

Zach and his guys were great. We just bought our home and it had the most horrendous dungeon color walls with the glossiest paint ever imagined and the transformation these guys made happen for us is just unbelievable. But honestly what we were impressed with the most was this young man’s work ethic—from the day he came to the house to give us an estimate you could tell Zach is an honest, down to earth and just a decent person. Out of the six contractors we had come out to give us estimates he was the only one who pulled out a good ol’ note pad and a pencil and just made notes as he went through the house, all others had every high tech gadget imaginable and really just rubbed us the wrong way about how our painting project was going to turn out. And for this reason, despite the fact that Zach was not the least expensive out of all the painting companies we had spoken with, we knew he was the one for this job. He was very understanding regarding other issues we were dealing with the other contractor we had working in the house and made the best of the situation. Bottom line, if you want a patient, dependent, very reasonable priced for the level of work and attention to detail, quality painter who even though owns the company, is in there painting with his guys— then Zach is your guy.

Straight Edge Painters provided us with excellent workmanship from start to finish. Zach Bristol, the owner, is very easy to deal with and took the time to get a clear understanding of our needs. Zach then wrote up a detailed proposal of the job he agreed to do, which entailed sanding, priming, and then applying two coats of paint on many kitchen cabinets doors, as well as repainting all interior doors, baseboards, and door frames. The painting crew arrived on time and proceeded in a very organized manner. It was estimated as a four-day job, and that is what it took. Each day the house was left neat and clean. Two of Zach's crew deserve special mention. Dave and Ron were here each day, all day, and did an incredible job on our kitchen cabinets. We had some smoke damage on the kitchen ceiling. Dave and Ron were able to blend in the repainted kitchen ceiling with the rest of the contiguous 1600 square feet of visible ceiling so that the entire footage did not need painting, saving both time and additional cost. In closing, we were very pleased with Straight Edge Painting and would definitely use them again, as well as recommend them to those we know who need competent painters. Donna and Bob Plesser

We have done a number of home improvement/updating projects this year which have included painting the exterior, interior and pool surfaces. The best experience we had with contractors was with Zack Bristol, owner of Straight Edge Painting, a Jacksonville company. I received a total of five bids and after doing some relatively extensive due diligence I chose Straight Edge. Straight Edge was not the cheapest but was competitive. Although Zack runs a number of his own crews he was in constant contact with us. Paul was his team leader, was here every day, was great to work with and did an outstanding job. His crew was always on time, very polite and did a great job of cleaning up every day. The prep his team did was outstanding as was the painting. The house looks great and, when finished, Paul took us on one final walk through to make sure everything was perfect. After some final touches, the job was everything and more than we expected. While not necessarily a big selling point for us, Zack did the whole job with no deposit at the beginning of the job. This alone was a big indication to me that Zack would deliver everything he promised and he did just that.

We hired Straight Edge Painting to paint the entire interior of our house, including the garage. They are incredibly professional and did an outstanding job. The painters arrived on time every morning and worked hard throughout the day, every day. The painters were neat and tidy and fully respected our home and the fact that we were living in the home (with two small children and grandparents!) throughout the entire process. They were also friendly and personable. They adjusted as needed to other contractors that were working in the house at the same time. Zach fully staffed our job and worked over the weekend (with our consent) in order to complete the job as quickly as possible. The job was a difficult one - moldings, tray ceilings, high ceilings, columns, etc., but they were able to do everything really well. We were very pleased with the results and would most definitely hire them again in the future and refer them to others. Thank you Zach and team!!

I found Straight Edge Painting online and chose them based on their reviews. Their record is well earned. Zach and his crew just completed painting my 2/2 condo in the Peninsula in downtown Jacksonville. These guys are great... super nice and completely nailed the job. The unit looks gorgeous. Zach was a total pro through the entire process, communicated what to expect, and under-promised and over-delivered. I also appreciated how flexible the crew was overall. The Peninsula tends to have some stringent rules about workers in the building just because of the nature of the building. Zach and his guys were very gracious and understanding throughout the process of getting checked in. Even the building's concierge commented to me later about how great they were (and she deals with a lot of folks). So, in short, if you're looking for a company to handle your painting needs, do so efficiently, professionally, and with an amazing attitude, look no further.

Licensed, insured company that pressure washes, can replace wood rot and paint? Look no further. Zachary and his team were great to work with. I had gotten the suggestion to go with them after posting on a Facebook group asking for good painters in the area. I wanted someone who could do the pressure wash, replace any wood rot pieces, and paint (exterior job). I didn’t have the time or really patience to deal with 3 different companies. Zachary’s team does it all! I also had siding that had broken off, and they took care of that also. He provides you with license/insurance info when he sends the estimate too, so you can trust you’re getting a legit company. We had a hurricane pass by Jax during our scheduled time, and Zachary stayed in touch the whole time to keep me updated on the status of the project. The whole process was super easy. Would highly recommend them.

We've used Straight Edge Painting twice now, and I'm thrilled with the results! Zach and his team are prompt, polite and do an excellent job. Zach & his team cleaned, prepped & fixed our wall issues, before beginning the paint, and the walls look wonderful! Their paint job was fantastic - the team was quick, and clean. Straight Edge Painting recently completed the exterior painting of our home. The company is owned and operated by Zachary Bristol who hires and trains his own painters, he does not subcontract. Only quality products and process are used in the painting and it shows! The team of painters demonstrated high levels of skill and were able to problem solve and find solutions to complicated areas to paint on our home. The team was punctual, neat, and courteous. The job was completed ahead of schedule even with a last minute addition of service requested! We are extremely pleased with the outcome and look forward to having the team back to paint the interior of our home later this year. It is so satisfying to work with a company who follows through and delivers a suburb product. What an exceptional company!

This was an excellent experience. The crew that came to paint the house was punctual, thorough, professional, careful, and detail oriented. Straight Edge had a crew pressure wash the house, then fixed small cracks in the stucco, many of which were barely visible. Then they coated with high-quality Sherwin Williams Loxon paint as a first coat and Super paint as the second. This was recommended by Troy as the Loxon does a better job of sealing the stucco and the Super Paint holds color. I checked in on the progress regularly and found that each day the tools were put up, washed, and stacked neatly (a hallmark of true craftsmen). The masking was done carefully and it shows. I won't hire any other company to paint for me as Zach's team did such an amazing job, even if I can get a cheaper quote.

I have nothing but good things to say about Straight Edge Painting. Zach was very professional and thorough when he gave us our proposal. He also kept in touch with us during the painting of our house to make sure everything was going well and as planned. Orlando was right on time the first day of painting and was very personable and professional and wanted to make sure that I was happy with everything. It was evident that all of the painters took great pride in their work. Orlando even did some extra sealing around the windows that he noticed needed it before painting. My family and friends love our "new house" and I've gotten many compliments on it. I'm very pleased and thankful to Straight Edge Painting and will definitely call them again the next time I need a painter.

Our house was a disaster before the Straight Edge Painting team got a hold of it! Between previous sloppy paint jobs and wallpaper hung over two to three more layers of wallpaper, we knew we needed professionals who could do the job and restore our walls and make them look beautiful. Zach and his team were not only efficient, but did a fantastic job keeping me updated on the progress of the project, managing expectations (since we're in an older home that naturally comes with imperfections), and they were meticulous about prepping the walls properly so I would be happy with the final results. All in all, Straight Edge ended up working on every room of the house (wallpaper removal, painting, and wall texturizing) and it was worth every penny!

Straight Edge Painting just completed the exterior of my house and free-standing garage. Both places are picture perfect! This is my 2nd time hiring Zach and a crew. I decided to use Straight Edge Painting not only because of a recommendation, but the owner Zak, was professional, courteous, gave me a fair price, offered me some tips on selecting color, and painting advice. What I got was much more! I named the painting crew" the singing painters" . You could tell that they liked their work, enjoyed working together, and were extremely proud of the finished product. They too were professional, courteous, extremely clean in their work and the daily "clean up".Although I don't think they will win a talent contest for their singing, I would give them first place on their painting!!! Zach and his team painted the exterior of my house and I was very satisfied. What sets Zach and his team apart is their professionalism and quality. Zach outlined what he was going to do to my house in detail, and offered a few options. I was surprised that he was going to apply two coats of paint (different paint) when others had quoted one since there was no color change involved. I checked with Sherwin Williams and they said what was proposed for my stucco home would deliver long lasting performance, with minimal fading. They said the one coat approach others had proposed would offer good performance but have significant fading risk. The real question is would I hire them again? Yes - absolutely.

Zachary was very detailed with the work and price he projected. It was all handled professionally and above-board. Zach's crew showed up on time each day of our project, prepped the space to be painted well, and were kind and professional. The paint job looks fantastic! The crew made sure we were happy with all the work done, and they left our home spotless. They required no payment until we were satisfied, which put our minds at ease. Just be sure to read through the prep paperwork before the crew arrives. I didn't realize that our bushes would have to be cut away from the house to allow for easy access to the exterior, so several were cut way back by the crew. Otherwise, our home looks great!

Zachary & Crew painted the entire interior of our house (2200 square feet) in less than a week. We have had several houses in several cities painted, and Straight Edge Painting's performance outshone all of our prior painters. Straight Edge Painting did an awesome job on the exterior of our house! Zach was responsive from our first call to the finished job; the quote was thorough and reasonable. When they arrived to the house to paint, Zach introduced me to Brent and the team; they did an excellent job prepping everything i.e. tapping and covering the windows, doors, etc. The only hiccup we had was a scheduling issue with the pressure washing and when I brought it to Zach’s attention, it was quickly resolved. Overall, we are very pleased with their work and would recommend them to anyone looking for a painter. We look forward to having them back out when we are ready to paint the inside.

Straight Edge Painting did a fantastic job. Zach was great to work with. He came right over and provided an accurate estimate that made very clear what was included. He started on schedule and finished ahead of schedule, I also asked him at the last minute to paint another bedroom and he was able to fit it in. He didn't ask for a deposit and didn't want payment until I inspected the work and was satisfied with it. I had my entire first floor and the upstairs hallway painted and it looks great. He left the left over paint for touch up and the place was clean, you would never even know he was there. I would highly recommend him and I will use him again in the future.

We hired Straight Edge to paint the exterior of our house after getting quotes from a couple other companies around town; Straight Edge had the best price. Before the painting was started Zach was extremely helpful going back and forth answering my emails and giving us a variety of quotes based on what we needed painted. Our house was pressure washed, and had the shutters, trim doors and wood painted all in about a one week timeframe. Orlando worked on our house the most and he did an excellent job and kept us updated on what he was doing. The final work was extremely clean and detailed and looks fantastic. They re-painted the inside of our home which is 4500 Sq Ft. and they did a fantastic job! My wife and I purchased our home about four years ago. The house had been painted a year or so before we bought it. We highly recommend Straight Edge Painting. They were totally professional from start to finish, they were good communicators, and master craftsmen. We purchased a home that had been a long term rental and they transformed it into a home that looks like it has always had lots of TLC. Excellent company! From the first contact in requesting a quote right through to the completion of the exterior painting of my home. Zachary and the team were prompt, professional and dedicated to providing exceptional service. The team of Larry, Joey and Ron truly transformed my home with their expertise in yielding paint brushes and sprayers. Even the UPS guy who delivers to my home made it a point to share with me how impressed he was with the workmanship, how hard the team worked and the transformation. I cannot say enough good things about this company! The owner Zach was wonderful. Communication was seamless and the process almost effortless on our part! It took his crew only three half days to complete our 1334 sq foot home exterior, carport and shed. He even threw our gazebo in for free! We would highly recommend Straight Edge Painting to anyone looking for quality painters. We had two other companies bid our job but felt Zach was going to do quality work. Zach is extremely professional in every sense of the word! The crew was good and seemed to work together very well. I was comfortable having them in my home. My husband and I went through the house the night before the job was done looking for any areas that we wanted "touched-up" but before we could point them out Paul had already addressed them with us and taken care of them. Our home looks awesome and we are very pleased with the work.

Zach and his team were great. I called him on Memorial Day weekend expecting to get a voicemail but instead I talked to Zach and he came to the house the same day to start an estimate. His estimate was over 1k lower than my estimate from a competitor. Zachary Bristol ( owner) and his team ( Mike and Austin) were professional, on-time and delivered an impeccable product. In fact, they came back to make a correction on what they considered a small imperfection. They did this without ANY insistence by me. I highly recommend Straight Edge Painting. They painted the outside of our home, patched a small stucco problem ( matched the stucco perfectly). The reason I initially chose them was they did a neighbors home and he was very pleased with their work and my observations as to their work ethic proved to be very accurate. They are good--its that simple.

Straight Edge painting earned my trust, they were punctual, very professional, and were one of the hardest working crews that I've ever worked with. They were very thorough about explaining what they were doing, showing me what was done at every step. The prep was was on point, masking off all the windows, handling the gutter downspouts and touching up caulk lines around the house. Zach runs a tight ship for his company and the lead I had on site Paul runs a good team. Cleanup was so good, if it wasn't for my house looking so awesome I wouldn't' be able to tell the team was there

Punctual Polite and helpful Skilled at his craft Respectful of our home Zach and the Straight Edge team completed a 100% repaint of our 1,500 Square ft condo. The work included color matching existing paint, using correct finish per room type, painting baseboards, door casing and doors (raised panel and louvered bifold) and NOT painting the carpet. The work was done in 4 days and the results exceeded expectations. By a lot. As a property manager we use a lot of contractors. I cannot remember one who was this good.

Zach is phenomenal. We asked him to paint the nursery for our little baby girl. Zach gave us some great advice on the paint to pick. Once we let him know what color we wanted, Zach did an excellent job making sure the walls were perfect. We had painted several color swatches in picking our final color, and Zach took the extra step to make sure those blended in perfectly. We recently moved in our new house, which badly needed updating. Zach and his team were fantastic. They were extremely detailed and meticulous, sanding and repairing every hole/issue on our walls, and the paint looks flawless. They also removed some wallpaper, and painted our trim. Straight Edge did an excellent job painting and repairing dry wall. The damage to our dry wall was significant and it looks as good as new. I used Straight Edge Painting for the exterior of a new home I am building. I was very impressed with their timeliness and professionalism. When I did my final walkthrough and noted a few minor spots that needed a touch up, they took care of it before leaving. My house has exposed eaves/rafter tails with tongue and groove decking and the paint application in those areas looks just as good as the rest of the house. I would definitely use them again and recommend them to anyone in need of a painter.

I really appreciated the excellent quality painting of our 2-story home done by Straight Edge Painting. From the estimate to the completion I was able to stay in communication with them. Our stucco home had lots of fine line cracks and had been covered up by too much caulking. The painters worked hard to correct these imperfections and did a very good job painting our home. Our home also had a contrasting block design along frontside edges. I would recommend them.
