Val and his team are excellent. We've used Strong Plumbing twice now for issues related to the drain pipe in our 100-year-old home and have been very happy both times. The first time was for a larger job involving a collapsed old clay J-trap cleanout and a crushed clay main drain pipe. Val was able to swiftly diagnose the problems, point out some unique features of our plumbing and provided a detailed quote quickly. His pricing was competitive, he was prompt and most importantly, he explained everything without being condescending. His team was very respectful of our home, laying down cloths and keeping everything clean. When they repaired the main drain, they updated the configuration to make it to code. They also expertly managed a tough exterior excavation, saving us from having to re-do our interlock. Val took the time to explain how our plumbing was set up, showed us the condition of all of our drain pipes and pointed out a few things to keep in mind for the future. When I texted again years later due to a back-up, Val quickly pulled up the notes on our home and was able to suggest possible causes based on our specific configuration. He was able to resolve the problem (roots invading an older clay section) swiftly, and reviewed the condition of our entire drain pipe to check for any other surprises. The sump pump of the house I've bought wasn't working full tilt. With the melting snow and pending rain storm, the water level was dangerously high. I called Valentin with Strong Plumbing and he showed up within an hour at my house! He replaced the sump pump with a new and more powerful one, changed and re-routed the runoff piping. Problem solved! I am most impressed with his concern for his customers. After diagnosing the problem, he was going to buy a new sump pump from the nearest Home Depot and install it. But he was concerned that there would be flooding while he was gone so he put in his own pump in the meantime. That's very considerate of him! Home Depot ran out of the pump I wanted, and the one he bought was just as powerful but we both felt there was a design flaw with this pump (maybe that's why that pump wasn't sold out ). Valentin was so experienced that he devised a way to work around that product design flaw. I am so glad he took his time to try out different ways of overcoming that flaw. Valentin got back to us via text within 24 hours and completed the job within 2 hours of giving us an estimate (which was 15-20% lower than what two of his competitors quoted). Other companies wanted to charge $40-$100 just for their contractors to come take a look at the damage but Valentin was able to give us an estimate via text based on photos alone and the final price was exactly what he promised. One of our sump pump exit pipes was stressed and got damaged due to the improper install by the original contractors (not Strong Plumbing Inc) but Valentin was happy to help us out with the fix and even went above and beyond to explain everything. He installed new rubber couplings that would allow some movement something the original contractor never thought of doing. We are very happy with his service and really appreciate the expertise and value of having a contractor with decades of experience. I selected Strong Plumbing Inc to unclog my main drain line in the basement today. Valentin tried his best to come the same day although it's kind of hard for him to arrange it at the beginning. He's very trustworthy as he updated me when the previous work took about one hour longer. He took a quick look and asked several questions then provided me with suggestions. He used camera to actually see what the blockage is and where it is. He even just used the camera set to get rid of the clog. That's very effective as we could see what we're doing. He helped inspect the whole drain all the way to street, and showed me the pipe path under the ground. He found about 4 inches dip along the pipeline on street side. He marked it and asked me to call city which would prevent future drain issue. All in all, Valentin's response is very quick, he's knowledgeable and the work is high quality. I will highly recommend him for any plumbing work.

The reviews on HomeStars are true. Val is excellent. I researched for a few weeks for a plumber to install a backup sump pump because my main pump was working a lot during rain storms. I eventually kept coming back to the reviews on Val and Strong Plumbing. Val was prompt in responding to my initial contact with him (2 other of the top rated plumbers on HomeStars didn't even return my call, period), his pricing was competitive, and he even broke down his pricing for me so that I could propose an alternative arrangement that worked better for me (and that we ultimately agreed to). He came to the site on time (alerting me that he might be late, but in fact, made it on time), completed the installation very efficiently, and left the area very clean. Val came to replace/add 5 water switch offs under our kitchen sink and replace faucets for our garage hose and backyard hose. Earlier this year, he replaced a bathroom toilet and a kitchen faucet. I recently hired Strong Plumbing, based on excellent HomeStars reviews, to work on installing a sump pit, and updating a very old sump pump (that did not have a sump pit). I concur with the excellent rating for this company. Valentin was always quick to communicate via text when I got in touch. I had cautioned that the area where my old sump pump sits is pretty tight, and he came prepared with multiple sizes of sump pits to ensure one would fit. The work was completed in a day by Valentin, Dennis (sp?) and another person (I didn’t catch his name), and everything was cleaned up nicely. Valentine is a very friendly and efficient man. He was early for our appointment (contacted me first) and did two leaky tap replacements. A leak under our kitchen sink was a quick fix which we were not charged for. He also determined the cause of a water leak from our shower and advised us about a fairly simple solution as well as another issue with a faucet that needed a cartridge replacement to avoid problems down the road. The price he charged is very fair for the work performed and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him. Amazing! I have an old house in the east end of Toronto and Valentin has done a number of jobs for me. Most recently he and his crew had to replace our clay pipes that had collapsed under the house. This was a huge job, but they went above and beyond. They had the permits arranged quickly, helped me with the city rebate form and arranged for the city inspector to come. Valentin and the crew were able to come, figure out the problem and have the work completed all within 2 days!! And while they were there they fixed my dryer hose...not kidding! They are honest, affordable and hard working. The best!

Fantastic service. We had an emergency flooding situation occur and they were willing to postpone their other scheduled jobs to help us. Valentin came first to diagnose a plumbing problem in the basement. He was so informative and provided the service below initially quoted, so I called him back to do a toilet installation. The toilet was not installed properly by the builder and has been causing a leak down to the basement. He was very professional and detailed, and worked around a problem due the builder not following standards when they built this house in the 1990s. I would highly recommend Valentin and will call him for any issues I have.

Replaced two toilets - Valentin was wonderful! He was incredibly fast, knowledgeable, professional, and had reasonable prices. He provided tips (without even being asked) on how to make adjustments to the new toilets if needed, and preventing clogs. He even, very politely put up with my father constantly trying to chitchat with him while he was working and trying to learn how to replace a toilet himself. I'd give him kudos for that alone! :) I would not hesitate to hire him again or recommend him to everyone.

An update. Since posting two years ago about Valentin and Strong Plumbing, I've continued to call on him after moving to an older condo. He is fast to respond, on time and does excellent work. For some smaller problems that popped up, I've asked his opinion through text. At least twice I've done this to him. He asked for some pics and pointed me to very easy, very affordable solutions that didn't need a plumber. (And he was right—they were easy fixes even I could do.) What can I say? Main water shut-off valve replacement was smooth and fast. Val did the prep work before the City worker came to shut-off the water supply from outside. It took less than 20 mins to remove the old valve and solder the new valve in. City worker was still on-site to turn the water supply back on.
