Lovely cosy atmosphere. Great coffee. Fresh & delicious custard tart. Terrible service and communication - probably due to understaffing. Not once did someone come to take our order, we had to go to them to order our drinks and I even went to the kitchen to ask for some service to order our food. Was very disappointed by the Eggs Benedict and sent it back. Hollandaise sauce lacked flavour and was too thick, ONE slice of soggy bacon and one poached egg still half raw. Although my grandparents have been there a few times and have had lovely experiences, I will not be visiting again as the chef was very cold in behaviour and took no initiative in improving the dish or apologising about the poor service or presentation. 1 star for atmosphere and 1 star for the tart that saved the day.

Lunch courtesy of my awesome director today was delicious! I absolutely enjoyed my open beef sandwich- beef fillet , red onion marmalade on sour dough and topped with a creamy gorgonzola dressing. I wiped my plate clean. Followed this up with warmed chocolate brownies and ice cream. My colleagues enjoyed chicken pesto wraps and carrots cakes for dessert. Clean venue, not crowded, tranquil, lovely decor. Owner/manager is on site and welcomes feedback. Pricing is good and food is freshly prepared.

First visit, so I will have to return to give them a second chance. I can only imagine that someone was off sick that particular day! Never have I experienced such an absolutely dismal Eggs Benedict. It was so bad that it can only have been a huge mistake made by the kitchen runner's second mate. I will be back, as there is no way that such a lovely setting and ambiance could repeatability produce such a shocker and yet survive Covid-19 lockdown. This could not possibly be their normal quality ...

Absolutely amazing, free access to wifi, lovely environment to have a bit of "You" time, the food is delicious as well as the coffee, from the plating when a breakfast is served to their crepes, Absolutely amazing and I would bring friends here to have lunch anytime!

Loved it! The food is simple and delicious. Good coffee and a beautiful quiet setting make it an ideal venue for work meetings . The bacon and brie quiche is absolutely delicious, the pastry is perfect, and the filling is smooth and creamy. I had the best carrot cake I have ever tasted here on a separate occasion. It's definitely become one of my fave restaurants in Durban North. I have to go back and sample the citrus crepes.

Been there a while ago for breakfast and it was great. Good service, great food, nice warm hot coffee and different areas in and outside to sit in groups. My wife also recently went for a kitchen tea and it was so well set up and snacks with cold champagne was served and the girls all complimented the venue and food. Great place to come to

We use Kim at Suburban Cafe for all our family special occasions as well as for work functions. The food is always generous and absolutely delicious. I cannot recommend Suburban Cafe highly enough. We have also eaten in the cafe regularly and the food there is also of a very high standard.

The owner Kim is such a star. She arranged the venue for my sister's high tea to such perfection. All I did was walk in, indulge and leave. The high tea package we chose was great. Service was excellent. The place and its facilities were neat and tidy. Will definitely visit again.

Booked this venue for a bridal shower and needed vegetarian only. The staff delivered in an excellent way. The food was buffet finger snacks that were delicious, the waiter was attentive during the full time and the decorations were tasteful and fun. Totally happy

Hosted a book launch here - it turned out to be the most perfect day! Such a helpful team of staff, great ambience, lovely food. I almost can't wait for the next one so I can experience their hospitality all over again!

Although we had to wait a while for our food, when it arrived it was So good. My husband had the scrambled eggs which were so light and fluffy. The food was good quality and very fresh. Lovely open air seating area

Pleasant little retreat for a quick cuppa. Coffee and titbuts not bad, service pleasant but a little on the slow side. Parking a bit of a problem. Worth a trip their to make up your own opinion

Lovely little cafe. Scones with jam and cream, custard tart are some of the items on the menu. By the way the scones and custard tart are delicious.
