After visiting 3 times before we booked again hoping for the same experience. Sadly this time it didn't live up to its previous standards or expectations. The food was beautiful. The service however not so much. On arriving we were given a tiny table that would fit 2, 3 at a push and had booked for 4. There were 2 tables filled with dirty plates. We asked to move to the larger table and the waitress cleared it for us however the table cloth was pretty gross so we flipped it over ourselves. We had to ask for clean plates, napkins as our plate was dirty from eating our sandwiches on. We had to ask for our tea pot refilling. On our last refil they only put 1 tea bag in a large pot so was like dishwater and had to ask for another. There savoury selection was only cheese scone, along with a sweet scone. I've never had double scones in a cream tea before, normally a pastry. We were offered homemade chips as an alternative which were lovely. The corridor carpet leading to the back was messy and needed a good vac. Dissapointed as paid alot of money for my mum and aunties birthday present. I won't be in a hurry to return unfortunately.

Arrived here to be greeted by a filthy floor, tables covered in crumbs and a kitchen that made me want to do a refurb. The toilet was scary it was so dirty and what I expected to be a fairy garden was just a load of plants some of which were dead all heaped together. On the website it says it closes at 5pm but on arriving at 16.10 and waiting for a member of staff to arrive to greet me for 15 mins - I was told that food isn’t served from 3pm??? It was such a shame because my daughter was so excited to be going to a magical cafe which was turned out to be just a run down back street cafe. The cakes which we chose to take home were actually pretty good however after being in the place I got them from and the cleanliness being so frightening I am glad to have eaten them at home. This place needs a makeover and a good clean ASAP

A wonderful little bakery/tea room. I haven't indulged in one of their delicious afternoon teas. However I have taste tasted many of their wonderful cakes, cupcakes and scones. They also serve a selection of light lunch items and sandwiches. The staff are very friendly and helpful to. Try the Cherry and Ginger scones mmn. Also the Banana, white chocolate and caramel cup cakes are my favourites. Although the Banana and caramel loaf is just as good. How about Chocolate and beetroot cake, it was a gorgeous velvety surprise. They also do a wide choice of brownies. All the cakes are freshly baked. So there is no set menu. I think you can order cakes also. They are slightly more expensive than such as Greggs. But they are so worth it. They are situated just next to Baa Ram Ewe, Wool shop. On Harrogate Road. Enjoy.

Unique Afternoon tea. The sandwiches were amazing. Desserts were fine but did not get to choose our own desserts got a weird caramel cupcake but the scores including the savoury were tasty. It was cold with no heating on and every time anyone came in or out I got a cold draft. Very small place bit crampt. Had to move to let the ladies out with prams. I wanted more plates as we were given only one for sandwiches and desserts. Need to have more selection of everything including egg sandwichs however the lady made me a cream cheese with rocket salad, peppers and tomatoes which I asked for but should be on the board. Need menus on tables.

I have been to this place before and had great service especially from the young lad whos been working there a while I chose to come here today to revise being a medical student as its a nice quiet place.. As usual your young male server was nice but at 15.35, this is 25 minutes before the cafe is due to shut, I was told by the lady to vacate store in 5 minutes. If your going to tell customers to vacate the cafe 25 minutes before the closing time, maybe be a bit more transparent with that when customers come in shop and also on your website.

I feel like the aesthetic of the bakery with the fine china and tiny cups appeals only to little princesses trying to have a tea party and sad divorced mums. I think the business would be better suited with quirky coffee mugs, larger tables, and a more family rather than fantasy aesthetic. As a larger man I feel weird and awkward walking into this tiny bakery clearly suited for a very niche audience.

Been meaning to go here for a while but always been so busy. Got in today and went in the lovely little garden they have in the back. Firstly the attention to detail in here is impressive... and when the food options are presented I'm even more impressed. Heathlier choices, an ample choices too. Plenty of room for one of their legendary brownies after. Will be back!

Very rude cashier, didn't even say hello, and was super annoyed with us being there. The cupcakes didn't have any prices or descriptions. We didn't stay there for lunch, just got some cupcakes, but the place didn't look that nice. The cupcakes are overpriced and not even that tasty. I feel bad leaving such a negative review, but I have nothing nice to say

A very pleasant atmosphere and divine food. It is always busy which is testament to the food. The chicken royale is sublime and my husband loves both the steak and jerk chicken sandwiches. Cupcakes are to die for and the brownies scrumptious. Nothing out of a packet, you can tell everything is fresh and home made. Worth the money.

Wonderful cakes and brownies. Their cupcakes are great- lots of cream so I scooped some off mine. The tea is nice, staff are friendly.its very small inside which may not suite everyone(you have to squeeze by people). It is often busy at the weekends. They do an afternoon tea which looks amazing- you need to book that in advance.

My son booked this wonderful place for my birthday everything was absolutely wonderful I loved the homemade bread and choice of hot or cold rolls The cakes were absolutely delicious The owners were such a delight thank you for making my birthday treat so special I will definitely return when I next visit my son

Lovely little bakery and the best afternoon tea I have had. The amount of quality food was worth the price, it was delicious and no piddly little portions either. My only gripe is I am tall and the seating in the little courtyard isn't made for tall people who want to sit and savour the food. Otherwise fab!

  • Leah Richards James

Lovely little local bakery with inside seating. So much choice for a great price. The service was impeccable, with friendly smiling faces! Loads of choices of hot and cold sandwiches and the halloumi fries were gorgeous. Great place for a catch up with friends. I will definitely return and tell others.

Got a couple of cupcakes today. I remember a few years ago the cupcakes were amazing and some of the best I'd had. Today was a different story. The cupcakes were stale and the cream or buttercream (couldn't tell what it was tbh) had no taste. I'm disappointed that the two cupcakes cost £7.

Fantastic, two Afternoon Teas to go for a birthday lunch, absolutely stuffed with lots of leftovers! Cup cakes and brownies to die for, seriously tasty sandwiches, scones with huge dollops of cream and jam and fresh strawberries, cheese scones .... heavenly!

Enjoyed a baby shower at Sunshine Bakery. The afternoon tea was fantastic with a real wow factor. Everything was made fresh on site. The chef ( Becky) was exhausted but nothing was too much trouble. The staff were excellent too. Highly recommended!

An average cafe full of fake plants and other tat. No vegan options whatsoever for food or sweet treats. Got our order wrong and didn’t have enough change for other customers to pay cash for anything. Food was okay but had better.

  • Jimmy Forrester-Fellowes

The Sunshine Bakery created us the most amazing wedding cake, a 3 tier rainbow cake with Gin & Tonic icing. It looked incredible and was totally delicious! Thank you so much Becky, we'll be customers for life! xxxx

  • Harry Campbell

I'm a sandwich kinda guy and their hot sandwiches in the Sundried Tomato bread are just amazing. The brownies are to die for too. Lots of people rave about the afternoon tea here but I've never tried it myself.

  • Gareth Davies

Everyone goes here for the cupcakes, they're just unbeatable, however I go for the bread. The wholemeal rolls are just out of this world, proper bread with actual taste, the best I've tasted outside Germany.

  • Amy Esler

  • Amanda Garner

The cupcakes tasted absolutely delicious. I had the Lemon/ Blueberry and the Victoria Sponge. The atmosphere was fun and the woman working is super nice.

Award-winning cupcakes - and they are seriously fantastic. Food is great - it might appear slightly pricy, but you get huge portions that

  • Meesh Lewis

  • Jade Nutton

Afternoon tea was fantastic value for money, super tasty all served in a lovely little venue by a lovely lady. Thank you

  • Craig Fleming

This has become our treat place for lunch. The hot sandwiches are like door stops, far sandwiches full of flavour

  • Winnie

Dry bland food. Coffee wasn’t any better. Staff were indifferent at best

  • tracy sheldon
