Received a great haircut though unfortunately it took a complaint to receive the quality I expected the first time around for a price tag of £70. Upon re-booking an appointment, I felt that I was well looked after and attended to, though I feel like this should be for all customers, not just those that are prioritised after complaining. My second stylist was more confident and communicated her expertise well to me which allowed me to make a decision although my options were more limited due to the fact that my hair had already been cut to a shorter length. She was warm and friendly, and kept checking in with me regarding the haircut. I felt that she spent a lot more time washing and cutting my hair than my first stylist, although my first time also included two treatments and a very layered haircut. I left the salon feeling satisfied with the end result. I appreciate the assistance in my complaint, however I do not think I will come back in the future. *** Previous review: Disappointing and overpriced. I made my first visit to Toni & Guy today with high expectations as a result of their brand name and proclaimed expertise. I booked my appointment online - no problems here. As I arrived, I was given a warm welcome at reception after waiting around and immediately directed to the waiting area. Although arriving on time for my appointment, I had to wait around for 10 minutes until I was introduced to Shanade. I specifically chose Shanade for what the website claimed to be her expertise in long hair, approachable and friendly attitude, and willingness to give tailored advice. Before the haircut, I showed Shanade some styles that I wanted her advice on. Instead of assisting me in choosing an appropriate style, she insisted that I make my own decision and made me feel rushed. What also made me feel rushed was her dismissive guidance towards the washing area. I specifically wanted the damaged and volume hair treatments but she insisted for a generic moisture treatment, and also challenged my decision to receive volume treatment. When I came back to the seat, she had decided to switch my seat while I was away and moved my bag without asking me. I feel like her communication could have been better, especially in comparison to her colleagues who seemed to be very chatty with their customers. She only asked me what I thought about the haircut at the end, when not much could have been changed. Although my hair feels good and may look good on someone else, it was not what I asked for, which left me feeling as if I had no say in my appointment. Her lack of communication and dismissiveness made me feel as if I could not express myself throughout the appointment, which is in contradiction with her bio on the website. I do understand that people have bad days, but as Toni & Guy have a reputation to uphold and this was my first time with them, especially as hair is not something you can go back and change overnight, I am hugely disappointed. Everything considered, this was not good value for money and I ultimately feel like I wasted my money.

James at Toni and Guy Bristol completely understands my hair and we work together to get the best my hair can be. Over the years I've had it very short, very straightened, very natural and it's now collar bone length - it's great to look back at all the different styles and looks I've had. James has always said that he liked long hair for me and I ignored his advice for quite some years, and James cut my hair how I wanted, always expertly and working with the limitations and strengths of my thick, slightly wavy, slightly coarse hair. Now, having grown it I realise he's right. The salon is always calm and relaxing, it's a treat to go there and to see everyone else having their hair cut or coloured. I've enjoyed seeing all the different ways that people have their hair and believe that the stylists manage to tune into what's good for the client. Throughout the pandemic I've felt as safe as possible in the salon. I have always been treated with the utmost respect and am warmly welcomed every time. I wholeheartedly recommend Toni and Guy Bristol.

I received highlights and a haircut just over two weeks ago and have been left feeling unconfident and disappointed. Not much communication and understanding was taken in by the lady cutting my hair and I have been left with multiple layers around the whole my of head which just wasn’t what I wanted. I also paid for a blow dry and style to be done and I was left with half a blow dry and left the salon with my hair still wet. I have used Toni and guy multiple times and I just feel like the costumer is never fully listened to on what they want from the service that they pay for. I am very disappointed and now left with layers cut so short I will have to wait months for them to grow out to have a chance to feel confident with having my hair down again.

When it comes to hair coloring I am quite demanding! When I find a good stylist I usually stick to it. I am not from Bristol and I am used to great service and excellent coloring from salons from my country, I have been going to Tony & Guy and have been happy with their service in different locations in Europe, but the Bristol salon the results have really surprised me in a good way! Daisy was incredible, apart from standard great customer service provided by Tony & Guy she nailed my highlights! So congrats! I will definitely come back! Additionally all social distance rules followed correctly!! I didn’t see anybody wearing mask incorrectly, they were careful and had an alcohol to hand! Highly recommend!

I had a fantastic experience. I will definitely be booking James again in the future. I'm in my mid to late 30's and he's the first hair dresser in my life who has cut my hair with my glasses on , factoring them in to the cut and the framing of my face and it might not seem like much but to me it was a game changer. I showed him the look I was going for and he cut my hair using it as a reference but tailored it to me, he took into account how I dry my hair day to day and didn't cover it in product, which was a refreshing change. I now love my hair and left the salon feeling great. James earned every penny and more.

I visited the salon for an enquiry .the receptionist a middle aged woman told me that I cannot get the service because of so and so reasons .whilst talking to me she kept stating ‘you guys’ as in referring to the whole community of my Color .she also kept saying’ you’re dark ‘ and it won’t look good on a darker skin . I have been to so many salons and nobody has ever been so rude to me .i could feel from her tone that she wanted me out from the first time she saw me . I want to give zero stars. I got my hair dyed from here and it was a terrible experience. It was incredibly expensive. And the end result was so so pathetic, i was shocked. I can’t even begin to explain how bad it was. Some of my white roots were still visible as you can see in the picture. I couldn’t do anything about it so just thanked and left, but felt so frustrated and would never return here or recommend to anyone in my life. I’m sure even the lady who did it was uncomfortable with the results. And the price i had to pay made NO sense for this disgusting result.

I have been going to Toni and Guys in Bristol for a number of years. Unfortunately, my longstanding stylist no longer works there and I had to try someone else. I explained to the new lady that I want to have a quality cut as I don't go to the hairdresser very often ( every 4 - 6 months) and I need it to last. I paid £77 for a mediocre cut that was underwheling on the day and looks terrible already. I was in and out in 30 minutes and came away with the feeling that I should have flushed the money down the toilet because at least I would have saved on the bus fare.

Thought I'd be treating myself by going to a top salon. Instead, the stylist showed no interest in what I was asking for, I had to re-explain halfway through as she clearly wasn't doing what I asked for (a two tone style), and for some unknown reason, only bleached up to 2cm away from my scalp, making it look like I had a month of regrowth as soon as I'd left the salon. I did email to try to complain but was just told they would 'pass on the feedback', with no offer of correcting the issue or acknowledgement of my actual complaint. Deeply unpleasant experience.

Iv been using Toni & Guy for many years and they are fantastic. Always very welcoming and offer a drink as soon as you are sat down in front of the mirror. Stylist are all very friendly and happy to chat with you about what you would like doing to your hair that day. They will help with that they feel would be better for your face shape, which is great! Having a head massage as part of the washing process is just brilliant!! I always come out of the salon loving my hair! It’s a lovely clean, stylish and relaxing salon!

My wife was booked in for a colouring and blow dry. She was told they were running a few minutes late for the drying part. Eventually she waited 80 minutes which is more than a few minutes. This is really poor customer service, they should make customers aware before commencing that there is going to be a delay of this size. It shows that the stylists believe that their time is more important than their clients time. Well they will have time to think on this as my wife will not be going back.

The salon itself is a lovely relaxing environment and the staff are friendly, however unfortunately I cannot recommend Toni & Guy Bristol. I left the salon not feeling great, my usually thick feeling hair felt thin with harsh layers (not blended at all - looked like steps!) and completely uneven face framing. I paid a lot of money for the wash, cut and blow dry (£75) - which I then needed to get fixed at another salon, so I was pretty disappointed with this experience.

Had such a wonderful experience with stylist Aaron... During our consult he listened, gave really good advice and in the end I had an amazing haircut that I'm still enjoying. Very skilled and pleasant person. I booked via telephone which was really simple and quick... just make sure you have your card details ready cos they need it to secure the booking due to their cancelation policy. A very professional establishment that I will definitely visit again in future.

I had the worst haircut from this salon. The lady did a horrendous job. The highlights that was done was so rushed and not even the colour I wanted. The service was not great the receptionist could not even pronounce my name properly at all when I corrected her she still said my name wrong. I don't recommend this salon go elsewhere and save your money as you will regret it. I will never spend my hard earned money in this place again.

I went in for my 21st birthday and to get my hair all ready for summer. I had Kim colour my hair and all I can say is she did a FAB job, she really took her time and really cared about my hair and how I felt about it! Next I had Jade for a cut and blow dry, who was equally as brilliant, very friendly and a great sense of humour, my hair has never looked or felt so great! I have been going to Toni & Guy in Bristol for the past 20-odd years, and even now, that I have moved back to Germany, I try and have my hair cut by James as often as I can. I always come out with a smile on my face and a hair cut that I love. The atmosphere in the Bristol salon is relaxed, friendly and highly professional. I just wish I had a salon like that closer to home (but I'd probably still keep popping back to T&G Bristol).

I had a haircut from Jade. I love my hair so much, and she styled it nicely. I have never left a salon happier than this before. I received so many compliments as well. I think for the wash, cut and style; The price is worth it. She cut my hair short precisely like how I wanted. Jade is very professional and gives you great advice . Had a haircut today with Faye, after a thorough consultation she knew exactly what I wanted and offered much appreciated advice and guidance. I am thrilled with the result. Faye has been cutting my hair for a long time and I trust her 100%. I always leave with a big smile on my face and love the salon experience. Every time I have been to this salon I have had the best experience with all the staff that I encountered. Nicole was my go-to hair stylist and she never failed to amaze me with the results that she achieved with my hair! I wouldn't go anywhere else. I’ve been coming here since the early 00s and have never had a bad experience. Kim performed a scalp bleach today and then back to Jade for a style. Very efficient, perfect results every time and reasonably priced for the service and skills on offer. Super friendly and will always offer practical advice. 100% recommend as the best salon in the Bristol area.

First time with Toni and Guy and for various reasons, the first professional hair cut in about a year and a half. Faye cut my hair and did a terrific job. We agreed on the style and she talked me through it while cutting and after. I don't have to do anything to it, just let it air dry and I put minimal anti frizz product in it and I am so pleased with the results. Thank you!

I was here 2 months ago and the woman who did the hair for me was so rude, she pulled my hair and even burnt my forehead while using the straightener. It was for my birthday, and I could feel it wasn’t for good. And they had the audacity to charge 85 something pounds!!! I still have damaged hair because of the same. I would never recommend this place to anyone.

Not as great as anticipated from a renowned company. No feedback sought post colour and cut, so Ieave it here. . Small details that other salons do.. Were missing. They are fine, but I’d say nothing special. Nice atmosphere. But no coffee or tea was offered and no comfortable seating for when waiting for appointment. My haircut was with Joanne. I have curly hair. And Joanne did a good job - not exactly what I asked for but haircut ended up looking really good. So, I’m happy.

I had my hair cut by Nicole. I didn't have to wait at all despite showing up a bit early and she was friendly, professional and knowledgeable. She knew exactly how to achieve the kind of style I described working with my current hair length and texture. I highly recommend getting a cut with her.

Terrible haircut, didn’t listen to what I wanted and couldn’t wait to get me out of the salon quick enough. I’m now stuck with the most awful haircut that doesn’t remotely suit my face shape and £60 out of pocket. Really disappointing as I’m going to have to resolve elsewhere.
