"Cloudy day, I visited Tannery Park"
This park is a very nice place to either sit down, relax and enjoy the view of Lake Ontario; or, be active and walk, run, bike or skate. It is connected to Water Works Park on the west side and Sixteen Mile Creek on the east side. There are limited parking spots on both Tannery park and Water Works park. I went here on a Friday night when the weather was very windy and there were big waves in the lake, so the path to the pier was closed. There are many benches on the waterfront trail that you can sit down and enjoy the view and park is well-maintained and clean. You also can see the Toronto skyline on a good weather condition. The monument on the Tannery Hill Beacon is nice to watch and you also can enjoy the view better from up in the hill.
A great park that combines a few great things. A lighthouse, yacht club a few pebble beaches and a lovely walkway. Steps away from Oakville's downtown, this is a great place to meet as a group of spend time alone. The sunrises from here are fabulous. There a lot of photographers here so make sure you get there early to secure your spot. The birds flying eastward makes for a spectacular view of the sunrise. Apart from that, the park is at 2 levels, one the lookout point/picnic spot and the base level where you can access the pebble beaches and the water. Both levels have parking, in fact there are 3 parking lots here.
The Tannery Park is new and well designed, and many benches along the boardwalk so that we have a gorgeous view of the Lake Ontario and the sailing boats in and out of the Oakville Marina. The Larry Cain Trail and nature walk is OK for the kiddos and elders. There's an Observation Deck, and a few picnic tables and chairs are set for people to spend a few peaceful hours. There're many parking spots, and you may get some parking spots with shade, too.
Restrooms
The restrooms are clean, but they need a bigger and clear sign so that the visitors can find it easier.
Beautiful, well maintained little park with great views. A observation deck overlooking Oakville Yacht Squadron, Chisholm House / Oakville Museum, Lakeside Park, Lighthouse and Toronto (on a clear day) across Lake Ontario. If you are a history buff, you should check this park out. There are plaques with little bit of Oakville’s past. There are few picnic tables if you are into picnicking. It gets quite windy and cold at the top. If you are planning to spend some time there, bring a light jacket.
Cloudy day, I visited Tannery Park. There are wide parking lots and felt fresh air. The boat could not be seen from the marina, and only a few people were out to enjoy the scenery. Countless fallen leaves were falling, but the streets were clean and refreshing. I would recommend it as a park worth visiting.
Went to the Tannery Park first. Walked along the Waterfront Trail. The trail is short. The scenery was beautiful, probably more so at the sunsets. A lot of parking spaces. A clean washrooms. Then went to the Lakeside Park. Street parking available. Clean washrooms. The Oakville Lighthouse was significant.
Very beautiful park. Landscaped area with lots of picnic space. If you are looking a nice place to relax, this is highly recommended. Parking space available as well as public washrooms. May be busy. Lots of mosquitoes around stagnant water. Kids need to be watched. Opens on a marina and the lake
Beautiful park and view of downtown Oakville and Lake Ontario. This section offers a quiet view of the lake but has walking paths and lookouts for a nice view. You can also park pretty close and get out and walk. Nice place to relax in the morning and plenty of lark benches to sit on.
Just been to Canada for 1 month. This is the first park I visited. It’s so wonderful! However, one tip for dear friends: don’t visit here alone. It’s absolutely not a good feeling. You better go there with at least a pet. This tip is given for my own experience today . …
5 stars for vibe & serene view from this park. I personally liked the ship harbour & lighthouse for pictures. Not very crowded, I guess cause bbq is not allowed here. There is no sand beach but pebble beach which is good for pictures. There are street side lovely cafe's nearby..
It is close to downtown and has a well maintained trail that follows Lake Ontario. The kayaks leaving Oakville Harbor and the lakeside on a clear day provide a very tranquil experience. Weekends are crowded, so the best time to go is during the daytime on weekdays.
My friend and I got a $50 ticket for parking past closing(issued at 1033pm). Yet the parking lot was full of people past 11pm. We have come here for years and never had a problem. Furthermore no one else had a ticket, there were 8 other cars there.
Nice place. I have been to many lakeshore park recently and this is among top 3 now. It was not much crowded and felt peaceful while taking a stroll. It is unique in its own way. Also while coming back to Mississauga we took lakeshore road
Decent Scenic Park with Marina Walk. Not very crowded on the weekends as compared to the other Parks in Oakville. Hidden gem, I think soon it will get crowded as more people will discover and start posting positive reviews about this spot.
Nice spot for a walk along the lake in downtown Oakville. Lots of places to stop to pause and reflect on the fact that there's nowhere to grab a coffee but if there was, would that spoil the ambience?
Beautiful location for stroll along the water, alot of seating to sit and enjoy the view. The trail is short but great place for early morning coffee, reading or self reflection, very serene.
Loved it here, was so peaceful, the air was so fresh compared to Brampton! A great place to sit and chat or have a bite to eat, just relax and unwind. Definitely going back soon.
An absolutely great addition to Oakville's water front. Beautiful stroll along this water front path from the bottom of Kerr St to the Marina. Great way to spend a few hours.
Beautiful and lovey. Tannery Park is located in Oakville, a town in Ontario, Canada. It is a popular recreational area with green spaces and amenities for outdoor activities.
It's a beautiful place to take your family or your date and walk around and enjoy the cool breeze and fresh air by the lake. The sky is beautiful during sunset hours...
Absolutely gorgeous place to visit, strongly recommend! Beautiful views, very quiet (we went at lunchtime on a weekday) and very clean
Nice park having facilities of ⚓ ships. All the facilities are available. Neat and clean garden. Lake view is also good . …
Awesome place for relaxing morning and evening time. The boat bay was clean too. Nice place for photography and see sunrise.
Beautiful park with the lovely views. Such a soothing environment and lots of flowers that makes it even more beautiful.
If you want to enjoy sun rise, sun set , boat riding, memorable evening you must visit according to your own test.
