Thansit is a railway station on the Central line of the Mumbai Suburban Railway network. It comes under Lahe village of Shahapur taluka of Thane District in Maharashtra. Atgaon is the previous stop and Khardi is the next stop. Thansit railway station was the first cabin station of Mumbai Division for Central Railway and was originally used only for operational halt of trains due to longer distance between Atgaon and Khardi stations. As day to day growing population in this area the people demanded it be converted into an official station, to give benefits to nearby villages around the station. It was declared as an official railway station on 15 February 2018. There are only two platform & now only local train have been started halting here. From year 2019 railway station development has been started. But still it's lacks in basic amenities for commuters.

Thansit is a Rail Station after Atgaon in the South & before Khardi in the North on Kasara Route. Platform 1 provides Train services for Kasara towards the North. Platform 2 provides Train services for CSMT towards the South. All Slow & Fast Trains operate on Platforms 1 & 2 in both directions.

Thansit is *not* listed on m-Indicator which is widely used for people commuting in Mumbai. The train halts in between Atgaon & Khardi. The halt is at Thansit. Within the train, you can barely notice that it is a station. & a very handful of people. 'v'

The railway station is known as तानशेत in Marathi & Hindi. A beautiful off-beat location. Away from all the city chaos and pollution. Surrounded by Greenery, where one can breathe fresh air
