I purchased a musk turtle from this shop 7 years ago, today he was euthanised because he had numerous deficiencies which led to shell rot, liver and kidney failure and septicaemia, all as a result of a deficiency in vitamin d3 which is provided by a uv basking lamp. Vit D is what allows us to absorb calium and other vitamins. When i brought my turtle i was told by the lady in the shop he didnt need a basking lamp as he will seldom leave the water. The tank in the shop they were kept in did not have a basking lamp either. Many times i went back with questions about my turtles peeling shell, to which she gave the same advice and said he was just growing and shedding his shell. The last time i went back with pictures she said the same thing and said if im concerned its calium related them buy a cuttlefish. I really regret listening to this lady, I have lost a very loved pet that has died very young (musk turtles can live up to 60 years) because i thought she knew what she was talking about, i trusted them as they specialised in reptiles, they sell reptiles that is all that means, please do your research properly before you stick a tropical animal in glass box.

I can't fault the quality of the stock or the knowledge of the staff, but the pricing practices of the shop are shady. I seriously recommend coming to the shop with a notepad and calculator to verify the price of what is being charged at the till. *Why I am writing this review* I have bought from the shop (albeit it infrequently) over the course of three years and nearly every single time there was a "miscalculation" with the charge. I always bit my tongue because I don't like conflict, and the £1- 5 increase didn't make much of a difference to me. Recently, an event transpired that was pretty insulting; where along with with "accepted" increase of price from the stickers, there was a problem with the card machine. As soon as the problem was fixed the price jumped again by another £3. Again, I bit my tongue and decided to write this review instead. I won't be coming back here anymore, not until they implement barcodes and a proper receipt system that actually lists out what you have bought.

recently bought just single lyre taipswordtail female from this shop.-she was heavily pregnant. but the shopkeeper disnt like to give that female fish as shes pregnant.,can realised on his face and he was tryingnto catch the fish & caught but when hes put the bag into hes said to the other lady who worked on the shop for another bag saying it has a hole in it!! but im surprised how come holes into new bag!! i didnt find a holes !! he put two bags and gave me!! but after i brought home shes not normal… & today she died! i suspect she would hv been hurt while she was been caught and put into bag!! i dont recommend this shop!

Love this place. Owners know their stuff and will help you with any query no matter if you're a beginner or expert. I had a terrible, sudden and unexpected nitrite problem in my tank that they talked me through over a number of weeks. They helped me restore my tank without using chemicals and gave me long term advice so I can prevent it happening again. Best local place to go for advice and supplies. Aa a side note when I had my nitrite spike, I went into a large nationwide commercial pet store close to my house first and they recommended expensive chemical solutions and told me it was the only way to solve the problem.

After viewing a few different websites we decided to visit and have a look as we were looking to buy a corn snake and it felt from the videos on the website that not only would the advice that we would get be first class. But also that the owners really cared for their animals. It's not often when visiting a store you really feel that every animal in the store is as healthy and happy as the animals here were. I am glad we made a purchase today, if anyone we know wants anything or even just advice prior to purchase I will have no hesitation in sending them to you.

A very kind and knowledgeable team. They will tell you what to do and what is right for the fish even if it doesn’t fit in with your plan - I thought my fish tank was good-to-go and wanted to add more fish, but was advised to hold off another week or two and check the tank water again before adding more fish – very sage advice and actually much better for the fish. This is my 2nd visit to them - about a 20 minute journey for me. I shall be going back in to get my tank water retested and hopefully add fish to keep my sole fish happy. Recommend these guys.

What a wonderful shop, with such lovely, polite, knowledgeable staff. I have purchased a new tank and fish from The Aquarium and as a total newbie I have no idea. Within a couple of days I knew I'd done something wrong when one of the fish was upside down (i know they don't do backstroke). I went to see the lady in the shop and not only did she help me with the water treatment, they filled up bags with their water and even talked the tank clean through after a rew weeks. Thank you so much and your dog gives such a lovely additional welcome.

Amazing atmosphere and owners, they always have the time to help, even when we had an emergency they replied to my messages out of hours several times. Above and beyond service, and very relatable and understanding. I've brought a lot of new and varied family additions and the continued help and advice I get well after purchase is refreshing and the only place this has EVER happened. An amazing shop. The owners are so knowledgeable and really take time to understand your needs. They have in the past helped me when my tortoise refused to eat and when he came out of hibernation early. This time, they have been so helpful with advice as my tortoise can’t go into hibernation. If you are a tortoise owner I highly recommend this shop - the internet gives conflicting advice but the owners of this shop know their stuff and will really help. Thank you so much!

The woman working seemed very patronising and rude when i came in for help for my fish. Not only that but i felt so rushed with my service and just bought the first thing i saw. The shop itself is nice but owners need to understand that not everyone is fully educated on everything about fish and they’re trying their hardest to care for them. Customer service could be A LOT better, quite disappointing as shop is the nearest to me.

Wonderful and very helpful people. They've guided me through the set up of a tank, with sound and bespoke help you wouldn't get online. The fish and indeed all products are well looked after and there's a lot of choice. I got Harlequin Rasboras and Tetras, plus loads of plants... And thanks to great advice all thriving. And i'll be back for more very soon!

I have owned aquariums for over 40 years and this is my go to shop for all our aquarium and reptile needs. You will not meet two amazing friendly lovely people who has first class knowledge not just on aquariums but keeping reptiles . They have helped us alot over the years and 5 stars is not enough in my eyes .

This is one if not the most clean fish shop in London the couple is lovely, they are very helpful and polite, they have quality fish here marine and tropical. (Marine)- is a bit more expensive than others places , but it worthy to buy from them ,as I said before they have quality fish

went to this shop today as one i normally go to in the whitgift centre was closed? however im glad i visited this shop its very clean,and plenty of wonderful fish,i bought 3 tiger barbs today and they are great.will def be coming back this this store.staff are wonderful too.:)

Such friendly and welcoming owners, they are both so knowledgable and helpful. We go regularly to get fish and reptile related items and they are always so helpful. They are so lovely with my children too. Highly recommend a visit if you have any fish or reptile requirements.

The woman owner was completely and utterly rude used foul language has no idea of business skills in the slightest and treats general public like absolute trash I advise people never to use the shop there are better shops in the surrounding areas
