I ordered it for my husband's birthday and it was an absolute hit. Not only did everyone at the party thoroughly enjoy it, but it was so delicious and visually stunning that my friend decided to order it for her husband's birthday as well. This was our second time indulging in this delightful treat, and I must say, it exceeded our expectations once again. The cake itself was moist, flavorful, and simply heavenly. The intricate design showcased true craftsmanship. Alongside the cake, I also tried their coffee, which was absolutely amazing. The combination of the exquisite cake and the fantastic coffee made for a truly memorable experience. If you haven't tried the Bristol Loaf cake yet, I highly recommend giving it a try. You won't be disappointed! #BristolLoafCake #DeliciousDelights #CoffeeLovers #TwoThumbsUp"

I've always enjoyed coming here and never felt the need to complain until this afternoon when I met my friend for a coffee. On recieving our coffees we both agreed they were luke warm, not hot. So I politely mentioned this to the barista and asked if we could could have replacements. Unfortunately I was met with a sarcastic comment ' Ok I'll make sure it's extra hot this time!' When receiving our freshly made cups of coffee which were hot, although I noticed my flat white was very weak in flavour. But I couldn't be bothered to mention this for yet another sarcastic comment! I think it would have been nice to have a simple appology instead of the unpleasant sarcasm that I experienced, as it wouldn't have been a problem otherwise.

Let me start by saying, we’ve been visiting the Bakery/TA coffee side of Loaf regularly since Covid and it never disappoints, it’s excellent. It’s been on our list to sit in and have Breakfast for a while and today we had the time, we waited 45 minutes for Poached eggs and a bacon sandwich, the wait time wasn’t communicated. Maybe this is a preference but the streaky bacon was 85% fat and I personally didn’t enjoy it all. We ordered a side of fried potatoes which arrived cold and looked like they were days old, the presentation was poor. We didn’t receive a check back and the whole experience was abit meh. I had really high hopes, but I’ll be sticking to the pastries and TA side in the future.

The sign says "any" pastry but then you try to purchase any pastry and they say "no, not that pastry" and you ask why and it is because some of the pastries are "special". I get that some pastries are special but it doesn't make your customers feel very special when you mislead them like that. Theres probably some law against this, but then again Bakesmiths don't display their prices anymore and that's for sure a big legal no-no. It seems honesty in the fine category of baked goods is no longer baked into the hearts of bakers everywhere . I miss the days of honest bakeries like Greggs, Kingsmill and Delice De France .
Have just visited. We had intended having brunch nearby while waiting for it to open came across Loaf and recalled a friend (in catering) said how good it was. How right they were. The vegan options we had were outstanding in quality and flavour. I have a big big appetite but needed to request a box to take home some if the awesome salad. Despite this I was tempted to the chocolate and tahini caramel cake. Glad I was. Best cake had in a cafe. This will no doubt become one of our go to places. Oh, and the cost was so surprisingly reasonable. Wins all around.
Congratulations on your Gloucester Rd Branch (couldn't find them on google reviews though) x amazing vegan cinnamon rolls, yummy coffee and spot-on service <3

Absolutely beautiful and delicious cakes with lots of vegan options. All the baked good are clearly labelled and beautifully displayed. Staff were really lovely. The way the shop has been set up, you queue up along the shop front and remain on the street. There is a table in the shop door with a hand sanitiser and there is someone there to bag your baked goods for you and take payment (No Amex). Hot drinks are available to collect from the hatch a few feet further.
There’s always a long wait for service and the staff wafting about are always new. You’ll notice signs in the window to say they’re hiring almost constantly - so staff don’t hang around and service suffers. I imagine they need to treat them better, as if they were happy, why would they leave? I try not to go as the service is always so poor, but there aren’t many other options on Church Road yet. And the bread in East Bristol Bakery is so much better.
It was my Mum‘s 60th this month and due to Covid we Kids couldn’t be there. Thanks to the Bristol Loaf we were still able to make her birthday special with this gorgeous cake which we had delivered :). Her being quite a baker herself I was even more overjoyed to here her rave about the almond and orange cake being so moist and light! Customer Service was also great, very quick reply, so thanks to the entire team!
Food and drink 9/10 Service 9/10 Decor and atmosphere: 9/10 Service speed 9/10 Cost 7/10 The best: Delicious baked goods The worst: Not always easy to get a seat! The lowdown: Came here for a coffee and some baked goods and were not disappointed. In the weekends there is often a line and for good reason. They have amazing service and if you manage to sit in you are treated with a very cute setting.
This place is a real treat - quite expensive for lunch, but was really worth it as the flavours were amazing! UPDATE: This is still a wonderful place. A bit of a treat, but worth the extra cost. Bacon sandwich on lovely soft sourdough, and the staff were very accommodating of my children's needs. Nice clean toilet, and the pastries are huge (and delicious!)
After the time I spent in Bristol with so much good sourdough around, now that I’m back in New York, I find myself missing the focaccia sourdough from The Loaf the most. If you have the opportunity to have coffee and a pastry, or one of the many focaccia sandwiches here, definitely do not let it slip away! Everything is good here! More
It's nice to see some new life coming in to Church road, so I was very pleased to find a great selection of cakes and savoury treats. I had a delicious flapjack thing (they gave it a very long name which I have forgotten, but it was oaty and fruity). Delicious tea too. I'm looking forward to trying the wine bar one evening!
I love this bakery. It is a gorgeous setting for a cuppa or bite to eat. I had an oat slice yesterday with lemongrass tea... it was the best oat slice I have ever had. Who would have thought a simple oat slice could be so delectable? Also their bread is fantastic - I highly recommend their focaccia and sough dough loaf.
Always like a trip here. Coffee and food is very good but always a bit of a wait for the coffee because this place gets very busy. Sausage rolls are a must and they always have the odd special baked treat. Hint, if you ever get the delicious Croilinder(?) eat it off a plate, your shirt will thank me.
Love them. Love the food, the decor, the people, and the tunes. But please, please, find a way to have more than one serving hatch with one server for a queue of sometimes 20+ people. 1/2 an hour wait for coffee and a sausage roll. I know I do it to myself, but it doesn’t have to be this way Loaf.
This morning has been my first time in here and I can only say: 1) Great Customer service, people working in here are extremely kind and polite 2) Cosy environment 3) Great coffee (and you can believe me as I am a very picky Neapolitan) and delicious super-massive pastries! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
The best pastry in town as well as coffee! And the staff is just so so nice and pleasant! Special my Rae she is just the nicest to everyone! It really does make a difference having awesome staff in an awesome place!! Sausage roll is a must!!! Everything is so delicious
Love the bakery. Waiting for coffee is like way to long....I tell my boss I'm going to Brazil

A lovely, welcoming cafe, friendly staff and quite big so plenty of places to sit even though it was a busy Sunday lunchtime. The menu is varied and interesting, the kimchi toasted sandwich was amazing. Not too expensive either, highly recommend.
As a vegan I do love the vegan range and all cakes are absolutely awesome. However I must say that I am not a regular customer any more because the prices have increased a lot since I first went there. I do appreciate the good quality but
This is the best bakery in Bristol - hands down. Fully certified ORGANIC BREAD! Huge array of VEGAN tray bakes and cakes. This is the place to be on Church road! Excellent organic coffee and moreish cakes to die for! They look absolutely
Some of the best baked goods in Bristol and a decent amount of vegan options. Would love to have some savoury vegan options too. Unfortunately staff aren’t always very polite and you can kind of feel like you’re on their way when you’re
We always come back here! The food speaks for itself. It's very simple and cosy inside with the plants, the food and staff are amazing. The menu is mainly vegetarian based but simple and to the point and they change it up every few days.
Delicious coffee and amazing selection of next level baked goods. We had the vegan peanut butter banana loaf, definitely rich and big enough to share. Its not cheap but you get what you pay for and its worth treating yourself too :)
First time in a Loaf, I’m always nervous about posh bacon sandwiches as they’re always fluffed up with something unnecessary. However, this was absolutely perfect, all the ingredients were super delicious
Little bit of Barcelona on church road. Delicious small plates that's all about experimenting with fermented foods, amazing choice for vegetarians, stellar wine and very knowledgeable and friendly staff!
You can get some amazing lookig cakes in Bristol now, but the one I ordered for a friend's birthday not only looked stunning but was absolutely delicious as well! One of the best I've ever had, really.
Sat in the covered garden, small tables but they had a high chair for our 18 month old. Excellent banh mi style sandwich on delicious bread, good coffee and great salad option.
Amazing coffee and the squash-age roll is divine!! Cakes are amazing and even a lip-smacking variety of vegan cakes for my vegan friends! Horray!! Friendly staff and attentive.
Delicious cakes with a great range of vegan options. I didn't have lunch there but will definitely be back to try those incredible looking sandwiches. Really friendly staff.
First time trying this branch of the Bristol Loaf chain today and I absolutely loved it. The guest filter and espresso were delicious and everything else looked fantastic.
Banging coffee, pasties, vegetarian, vegan and meatarian catered for. Open and accepting atmosphere. Really nice to see daters relaxed enough to snog across the table :)
First time here did not disappoint, staff so friendly especially Abdu! The food was such high quality, I loved the strawb and watermelon cold press. Would come again :)
Delicious pork sausage roll! So fresh! The chai was lovely as well. Great vibe. I wish the cinnamon roll had even more cinnamon to dough ratio. Nice
The best sourdough bread and baguettes. I often get a cake (vegan options available) as I can't resist. Nice coffee and atmosphere.
Bought a pan au chocolate at 2.90 No chocolate Can by 4 in Lidl that are much better Come on guys 2.90 !!!!! Wheres tge chocolate
Great sandwiches (especially new vegan) and perfect cakes (rye one with dark chocolate is delicious). Nice and friendly staff.
Some of the best baked stuffs right here. Also, very nice to sit with coffee/drink. Lots of plants, lovely …
Really great bakery . Have a great choice of gluten free sweet treats. One of the best places to get a sourdough loaf !
Great bread. Good coffee. Awesome sandwich. Queues are long and wait times on takeaway is long. Vibes are okay inside.
Very good quality coffee and the bread is just amazing! My favourite is the focaccia bread, topped with rosemary!
Always lovely pastries and cakes. I defo miss doughnut Saturdays as they were amazing especially the vegan ones.
Second time we order birthday cakes with Bristol Loaf. Absolutely delicious! Really outstanding! Thanks a lot!
Nice cafe. Stopped here for cake and coffee. Menu looked good. Prices OK. Authentic decor. Would come again.
Pricey and service can be slow at busy times. But bakery items, salads and sandwiches are fantastic

Superb sourdough! If the salted caramel brownie is your last meal, you'll die happy.
Bread is amazing, but £1.50 for ketchup is a bit steep even if it is home made.
Great vegan options, good coffee, kind staff, but not affordable
