I'm not in the habit of leaving reviews but I want to write how much I love this venue and show my appreciation for the people who keep it running constantly to such a high standard. Even if it is cold outside, the warm atmosphere and thriving plants on the covered CLF rooftop makes it feel like the sun is shining. This is especially true when the Latin Jazz Brunch is on. The Dominican food is lovingly cooked and is always delicious, there's a wide cocktail menu and just watching the staff make them with charisma and flair will help shake away any angst of everyday life. Yesterday, Roberto Pla played with his 19 piece band. It's always so great to see quality live music but in particular, a band made up of young and older musicians alike; respected musicians of mixed genders and races playing to an audience of an equally broad demographic. It's a venue where everyone is made to feel welcome, with events/programming that make local communities feel seen. This is also the kind of gig musicians care about, where we invite our friends, family, dogs and people we want be be close to. The mountain of food, drinks and warm hospitality from staff, in particular Seb (who has the patience of a saint) also helps. The programming features musicians who have decades of experience on the London and international music scene, alongside nights that focus on exciting, young/new jazz artists, often female led. All events I have been to have been of a high standard and it's common to see the same musicians here for free (or a minimal entry fee) that you would pay a premium for at Ronnie Scott's or main stages at major music festivals. Thank you, CLF and all of the team and community behind it.
This is a beautiful venue and perfect for a party space. Visited the rooftop garden space for a friend’s birthday during their Domican Independence Day celebrations. It was sunny, but as the day went by it did become quite cold as the heaters stayed off until late afternoon. They had an animated live band, with salsa dancers encouraging patrons to dance with them. The sound was VERY loud and difficult to hear others. If you’re okay with the sound, it was quite a good time to get ip and have a dance. The cocktails were delicious (the tropical storm was stunning). All service is via an app which is a bit frustrating as you’re charged service on every drink despite being 3 metres from the bar. Sometimes they would come in 5 minutes, others 20. The food was very disappointing. It took an hour after ordering for it to arrive. I had the chicken burger and fries and it arrived cold, next to no sauce on the burger, and soggy fries. The others at the table had ordered earlier and they described the food as being much better. The kitchen also closed for 1-2 hours to seemingly deal with all the delivery orders which was frustrating for half the party. The staff was really kind. They allowed us to slightly over stay our reservation until the next party arrived.
Been there twice. The first encounter on a Thursday afternoon was quite nice so we decided to come Friday night as well… aaaa never again! The orders took forever and I know Rihanna said “turn it up turn it up” but mate it’s not live music, these are some jams from 2004, please stop. I asked the waiter if the music could be toned down a notch (he couldn’t hear me the first 3 times cause…too loud). Then I went to the management and he turned it down A BIT tho it was still pounding unlike the live music downstairs. What’s the point? Humans who want to go dance go live music and dance, humans who want to talk and eat and drink- rooftop restaurant. Everyone left before midnight and I still can’t hear properly. The food was alright, like actually quite tasty and not because I was drunk hungry because drinks took 30min to arrive so I gave up and went home quite sober. Yes food arrived 20-30 min before the drinks. Go figure… because we never will.

This is an incredible place, very New York speakeasy style. With a terrific lounge and terrace located off the beaten track and away from crowds. It has nice cocktails and the food is also ok. The place deserves 5 stars however, the experience is completely ruined every time you order because of the fact you need to use an App to do so and the app is by far, the worst thing I have ever seen. Whether you try to order as a guest, sign in with Google account or create a new account, the app just doesn't work for me! It takes multiple attempts to get in and once you're in, it doesn't have Google Pay so you need to enter your card every single time (I am not storing the card on the app, forget it). This is such a massive detractor for me that unfortunately, it has put me off a few times and I've avoided the place in favour of other bars in the area. It's a shame that the overall experience is sabotaged by some third party (I presume) app.
Super rude manager in the garden area! Wouldn't recommend the place unless you want to experience having wine taken off the table and emptied out whilst being in the balcony smoking. The bottle left mostly full was afterwards in majority empty. The manager put the nearly empty bottle back on our table and haven't allowed us to speak. He was super rude and claimed we are accusing him of stealing. The bottle came from the cleaning area in the bar (which member of staff brought back in front of us) and I wouldn't be surprised if it was spiked! The manager was bold and rude to our table much earlier. I think he chose us to be an outlet for his bad day. His boldness was clearly showing and his insecurities were screaming louder than ever. The garden experience was awful because of him. I will never come back no matter the band that's playing. However, ECHOES band was amazing!! Though couldn't compensate for manager's rude behaviour.
I honestly love this venue so much. Friendly and flexible service, great cocktails (particularly the Peckham Punch) and open til late. I booked a late 9pm onward slot for my milestone birthday. Cocktails and some if not all food was ready as pre-ordered on our reserved tables. Most of my guests didn't use the tables and preferred to stand up and mingle with eachother, so we were occupying the walkway a bit. As we got more drunk, this may have gotten worse (my bad!) but luckily the staff were patient with reminding us and other neighbouring groups were far away enough and didn't seem to mind too much. I think next time we should probably book tables in a corner. Hopefully we weren't too annoying! Overall we all had an absolutely amazing time! I even brought along an impromptu bubble gun, which the staff didnt mind us using at all! I will definitely reserve a table here again for future parties, big or small. Thanks, CLF! X
A lovely rooftop bar where you don't expect it, without Google maps to direct we would have walked straight past it being on top of what is either a hostel or hotel. For a bar they suggest very short seating times (their one downside), but as it wasn't that busy, and we were still ordering drinks, they left us be. A nice wine selection of unusual options, and while a small food menu, everything we got was amazingly tasty (buratta and pork with bread were the two highlights). The view is spectacular, especially once the sun goes down, and you really can't hear the noise from the road despite being so close. Friendly staff, who are really engaging (as I said while they booked us in to leave early, our waitress pushed for us to be able to stay till close, something both myself and my friend were thankful for). Definitely a place I'll be going back to soon enough.
I live locally in peckham and booked a table for 10:45pm saturday just gone as booked the cinema across the road to watch the Rye Lane movie we got to CLF at 10:35 seated upstairs on the rooftop area. Tried to order food as thats what i put in my booking only to be told the kitchen closed 5minutes ago at 10:30 even though it says 11pm on the booking site so was rather dissapointed in that as me and my wife could only stay for 1 drink as has to scurry off at 11pm to find somewhere to eat as was hungry before everywhere shut even though we booked and intended to stay untill 1am. The cocktails was very delicious though i must say ie Peckham Punch and the Daqolada with the extra Koko Kanu and the music was cool with the DJ. Would of loved to of tried more cocktails plus the dominican food but you guys closed your kitchen earlier than advertised.
I went here to see a love music show, so I want necessarily counting on the food/drink to me great. The vibe is great all around. I was here around lunchtime on a weekend and despite the roof being pretty packed, the wait staff seemed relaxed and efficient. I am not a Dominicana, so I cannot speak to the authenticity of the food, but the smoked aubergine loaded fries and the cheese croquettes were DELICIOUS. Crisp, flavorful, spicy and satisfying. My cocktail, however, was a bit of a disappointment. I got the bergamot spritz, and the tartness and fragrance of the bergamot was nowhere to be found. Allegedly the drink was topped with something carbonated, but I detected no bubbles-it tastes watery. Overall though I’m so glad this place exists, there was an amazingly diverse crowd there (age, race, etc) and the bands they program are wonderful!
One of the most awful experiences I've had all trip. We had a reservation and there were no tables available. They added a table basically in a corner. No water was brought to the table. We were prepared for dinner and no menus were offered, even electronically. No one asked if we wanted anything as drinks were available through the app. When we asked about food, the person had to ask someone. 20 mins later said that a menu was not available and if we know what we wanted we can just ask. While we were waiting, another party was able to seated at a real table. They didn't look like us, noted. Music was good and its a shame. We ended up leaving completely disappointed as this spot was recommended to us by our friends who were not able to join us. I'm glad they were spared this embarrassment. Happy New Year's Day.
Booked a table for the live jazz on a Sunday evening. Got there only to realise the booking means nothing and it was cramped (people standing too) inside where the live music was. The host didn’t seem bothered and said we could find seating at the rooftop (with no live music). Went upstairs, tried to order drinks at the bar and was told to order on the app. Ordered on the app, then a different girl came over to say she could take our order and will be available if needed. Very mixed serving staff! Also saw something similar happen with another couple, can tell they looked confused as they come upstairs to the rooftop. It’s such a shame they offer lounge booking, but don’t adhere to it. Was a wasted Anniversary evening out.

A perfectly charming bar completely marred by a ridiculous QR code drinks ordering service. Upon seeking assistance the bar tried to charge me twice and upon realising their error no friendly apology was forthcoming. I liked that the bar welcomed all ages. It's sort of a "Peckham Lite" experience: white people dancing to Jungle Is Massive and Sweet Female Attitude etc in an environment that feels vaguely urban. The sauvignon blanc was rancid and the negroni didn't quite hit the spot, basic spirits and mixers were a safer bet. The food was good - kitchen did a good job. Security were friendly. I just wish they would let you buy a bloody drink in the fashion that has served humans well for nearly 2000 years - give money / get drink. Nobody needs a postal address to sell beer.
The place is nice but the other clientele it attracts is not okay. Had someone try to bardge into my toilet cubicle, and they succeeded bc the doors aren't very solid. And then proceed to shout in the toilet for people to hurry up, and also have a go once I came out to wash my hands. 3 toilets may not be big enough for the venue. Food took half an hour for 2 sides to come, but tasted really good and reasonably priced. The stairs are hard to navigate, stressy staff wanting to bring rubbish down. Just weird vibes. Didn't fancy staying long.

Have been a couple of times - the jazz sessions that they host on the 1st floor are top!! Think a really accessible Ronnie Scott's in great surroundings. Though my first time at Latin Brunch Saturdays (from 2pm) and that is something else! Phenomenal music, really great selection of drinks - we tucked into the cocktail menu. Then also got really carried away with the food, which was equally delicious. The bar team (headed up by Dom), who exudes warmth and hospitality, I simply could not fault. It's also a really family friendly environment, so definitely one that you can take the kids to for great beats & equally delicious bites.
Celebrated a friends birthday here. The atmosphere was lively but relaxing.I had some really great food and amazing cocktails here. I tried the fried chicken and it was unreal. The chicken was tender and well-seasoned. The fries were also really tasty (as far as fries go). The plantain chips weren't that great. They were pretty dry and lacked any interesting flavour. The cocktails were very good, boozy and reasonably priced. The interesting flavour combinations and twists on classics were really well done. After having some average cocktails recently, CLF reminded me of why I enjoy cocktails so much!
Went here for the first time. For birthday drinks. with my sister-in-law. It was truly amazing. Live shows. Next time will check to see who's playing on the night as they have different artists each time on the night. Food is faboulous Happy hour was from 5-7 You have a server that takes your order, of course, there is a charge of £1.50 Which is fine. There is an area where you can smoke. The atmosphere is great. If you are cold they are blankets that you can use. Also, heaters are all around the area. Yes will return again with friends. It's a hidden gem. Sonia
Have had a positive experience last time I came here. Unfortunately tonight there was barely any actual meat on the bones of the chicken, and we paid £14 for crispy batter. After highlighting this to the manager, no compensation was offered, only "sorry about the chicken". One experience like this and a venue gets red listed for me. Won't be returning. Edit: The owner sent the below message hinting they would try to rectify the bad experience if I emailed. Well I emailed and... nothing. Their message below was only to save face and not a genuine offer of help.
Food is always on point. Drinks are well priced, strong and flavoursome. The music is what sometimes lets down the night. It's like they sometimes don't, or can't, read the room and play some music that doesn't want to make anyone get up and dance. Always book in advance. The rooftop is where it's at

The CLF Art lounge is a hidden gem of a venue located next to Peckham Rye train station in south London. The venue’s interior is designed in a mixture of vintage and modern fashion, complete with a New York style roof terrace that over looks the high street and railway tracks, which all adds to the experience. The venue is also host to live music on selected weekends. I was lucky enough to catch Ivy Chanel and Dean Mark performing “Slice of Soul” on Jan 31st and Feb 1st 2020. Highly recommended for 30 +.
Gem of a place - you hear it at the station but hidden up a door and stairs. Let me rave for a bit. The lounge is intimate and has great music - we've seen Jazz, Brazilian (Samba/Salsa) and funky brass; upstairs on the deck has a great vibe with music. The cocktails are awesome (try the rum punch!) and the Dominican food is awesome - the fried chicken with plantains is the crunchiest in the area, we also like the slow cooked beef moro is hearty. Def worth a visit if you're in the area.
A very disappointing afternoon after paying to see a live latin band but were literally surrounded by dogs (one of them peed on the in front of us while we were eating) and babies and toddlers it literally felt like a creche! And how many of them were crying...lord....parents keep your little kids at home, that's what sensible and courteous parents do! Very difficult to dance whilst navigating toddlers and dogs!

Persistence is the word: if you try to walk in in the evening it's likely they are fully booked. So plan well ahead and make a reservation. Dominican food is fresh and tasty, great to share too. Cocktails are pricey but totally worth it. Terrace becomes a greenhouse on hot days so book inside as there is AC. The club is opposite Peckham Rye station, it could be hidden for people coming from Rye Lane (just head to the station and turn left before the entrance)
Went here for birthday dinner. The decor and general vibe is cozy and intimate with lots of comfy seating, it would be great for a date or chilled drinks and dinner. The Dominican food is honestly phenomenal and so are the cocktails. There was live music, the artist was Remi Martin with a band .. they were fantastic!! I thoroughly enjoyed this place its a gem, Ive lived in Peckham forever and can’t believe I didn’t know how good it is.
Great service and food, and reasonably priced cocktails (for London). Only thing is can get quite noisy if you are hearing impaired and it is busy as staff will understandably find it difficult to turn the volume down though they are always polite if you ask! this is obviously unavoidable on their part. can be easily rectified by a trip to the lovely outside rooftop area or by booking a request for the quieter downstairs lounge area
Great place, the only annoying thing is that you have to pay straight away at the table once you order something. If you have table service then you should be able to pay at the end. Anyways, food was delicious and so were the drinks! Good cocktails and they have happy hour until 7pm (cocktails only). Ambiance is nice, and the rooftop is beautiful. I recommend!

Good place. Saw Saffra here on Thursday - good fun band. First Thursday of every month is grassroots night, where smaller local bands are given a platform. Staff are very good and sound was excellent. The host was gracious and classy and finished by thanking the sound engineer. Recommended night out - didn't eat here, but should have. Food looked good. Upstairs seemed very nice as well.
Good place to eat and have a good time. Food and drinks were good. Service was not that good. We’re visiting London for the first time (tourists) and wanted to have a good time at this place. We were in the middle of our second round of drinks (after eating) when our spot was requested for other guests. Basically, we got kicked out.

Great food, but the service was not great. Took my mum there for a late mother's day treat. When we got there the table still had all the mess from the previous party. The staff took away the menus because they were all dirty and said they would come back with more. They never returned, and my mum and I were just left there. Staff also ignored us when we tried to get their attention.
Wow! What an amazing place to go and to enjoy some good drinks, great food and their amazing music. Olé I strongly recommend you to live this experience. This is the only thing we take. The environment and atmosphere is excellent and the customer service brilliant. Well done to the team! Muchas gracias. With Love, Flamenco Joy. Mercedes Avila Caballero ♥️
I have booked with the help of Martin via instagram. He has been more than helpful and accommodating, providing all sort of info I needed. On my arrival I had a really good welcome and accommodating my needs of a table changing. Food excellent and cocktails on spot, service from waiter good. I have been follow up till the end of my stay with a smile from all the staff.
My new favourite venue? I've been here 3 times now and I love it. I've been on Sunday afternoons and heard some great DJs. I've eaten here twice and both times enjoyed what I had (sea bass although we thought it was sea bream / fries with beef). The service is superb - efficient and friendly. I can't be doing with ordering by app but I'm basically very old.
Been here a couple of times now. A real hidden gem a stones throw from Peckham Rye station. Firstly, the staff are lovely and really helpful. The terrace area is pretty with lots of seating. You feel like you’re on holiday. Cocktails and food are delicious. Particularly loved the fried chicken with plantain. Looking forward to coming back here again.
Only was here for a nice gig but the vibes were amazing really nice interior and nice drinks from standards to some nice signature drinks. Also has a great covered outdoor rooftop would definitely be great for a date. Little edit went to see SAFFRA which was an amazing and they have a monthly show for new bands
We hired the roof garden at CLF as a wedding celebration for friends and it couldn’t have gone better! The staff were amazing, venue beautiful, cocktails and food delicious! Would highly recommend visiting. Good vibes and good times. Thank you Saija and Seb for all of your help, you were brilliant!!
Fantastic food and drinks. Service was friendly and welcoming. The best part was the space! What a gorgeous rooftop area, especially when the sun is out. Definitely returning.

This is definitely one of the hidden gems in London. Those places you cannot find anywhere else. Amazing Dominican food, the most perfect Latin jazz/salsa Cuban live music on a perfect rooftop terrace, combined with nice and relaxed drinks. It was such a lovely afternoon :)
Great space for a drink and fried chicken next to the station. Large inside area and also lots of space in the roof. DJ on Sunday. Roof top is indoor outdoor kind of covered but open at the sides vibe. Selection of local bottled beers. Mixed crowd. Friendly staff.
Enjoyed a birthday celebration on the rooftop with a group of friends and had the absolute best time! The vibes and service were great from start to finish from the entire team. Special shout out to Farzana, Dom and Daisy ❤️

We booked a space for my husband’s birthday - great venue with fun roof top vibes. The cocktails are amazing , especially the spicey Hennessy which was divine. Daniel and the rest of the staff were super friendly and accommodating. Will definitely be back …
Awesome venue. Great drinks/cocktails and cool rooftop vibes. App orders which works well. Is around £9 for cocktails which seems to be the norm. Looking forward to returning post-covid when people can dance and move around to maximise the rooftop experience.
I went here for the Brotherhood of Breath gig yesterday. The roof garden is fabulous. Food is excellent and both food and drinks were served quickly by professional smiling staff. If I didn’t live so far away I would love this as a regular drinking hole.
Atmospheric lounge / cocktail bar on the first floor and a rooftop bar on the top (covered in the winter). Nice drinks and good service. The lounge is very comfy with dim lights, life music on weekends, perfect for a date or just to hang out with friends
Amazing place and great atmosphere, WITH HEATERS !! It was my boyfriends birthday and they must of heard us singing to him, they came over said happy birthday and gave a free shot, they were so accommodating and friendly! So easy to
We absolutely loved this place. The rooftop was a beautiful oasis and the latin vibe and music was amazing! We literally loved everything about this place, but there was just one problem. We were so excited about the music but we instantly
Great little speakeasy style bar in Peckham. Very cool rooftop when the weather is good and cosy and atmospheric indoors when it's not. Good cocktails too, though agree the food could be better. Social distancing is well managed though the
This place is such a little Gem in Peckham, it has defiantly been there to brighten up our evenings in these times. The staff are always so lovely, the vibe is incredible, the roof top is simply gorgeous with out door heaters and decorated
This place is amazing! The catering is top-notch, especially the smoky and flavorful aubergine loaded fries. The tostones are crunchy and fresh. Don't miss the jazz nights on Fridays or the high-demand rooftop sessions on Saturdays—book in
Went for the first time and I had an amazing service. People were just so accommodating and I couldn’t thank them enough. Specially savannah, Beth, farzana,RM,Lola and seb! You guys really know what are you doing. Will definitely come back!
Very cool place, with good music and good vibe. However, they struggled a bit on Saturday night, as service for drinks was slow and we had at least 2 accidents where the staff split our drinks across the table as they were being delivered.
Great cocktails, food, friendly prompt table service through app and unexpected bonus of live jazz. Thought a large menu might not = good quality but drinks balance was spot on. Love the deco, velvet armchairs, booths, but a little chilly!
An elegant and fun venue, the layout and decor never fails to impress. It has downstairs rooms and a rooftop, which in winter is covered to keep the warmth in - there are also lots of floor heaters - despite this it still can be a bit
The venue is great and vibe is good for a drink and some music downstairs. Rooftop is great for a smoke :) DO NOT RECOMMEND THE FOOD APART FROM THE CHEESE CROQUETTES! The chicken is the most disappointing thing I’ve eaten this year!
Had a birthday party here last week and booked out an area of roof terrace. Very attentive staff, great drinks and fab atmosphere. Thanks so much- was a great night- definitely recommend booking for a special occasion!
Place is hidden away but was very surprised, nice decor and very good rooftop, dominican food is being served, loved the yuca balls and fried plantain, fried chicken was good needs a bit more flavour, would recommend
Great and cozy venue for the spoken word poetry event I attended, nice rooftop bar and reasonably priced drinks, with a happy hour! Food was lovely, especially the spicy chicken wings. Will definitely be coming back!
Came here for my birthday recently. Cocktails were great, everyone really enjoyed the food and the staff were amazing - especially Daisy who was super friendly! Great rooftop bar, would definietely come back again!
A hidden gem in Peckham. The rooftop is the perfect all-weather outdoor spot and the lounge downstairs is cosy and intimate. Forget Frank’s and get yourself booked in here. Good value and delicious food partner.
It’s so loud you cannot hear anything your friends say. The venue looks hip so it’s a pity basic inconveniences ruin it. All the comments about disengaged service are also true. More
Very nice atmosphere and the staff were very friendly. I had the Picapollo and it wasn’t the best as it didn’t have a lot of flavour but the Sea bream my friend had was very good.
Lovely cocktails and Dominican food that is very filling. The decor is nicely done. For a rooftop it doesn’t have much views but the setting is nice on a sunny day!
Love this place and the staff are so great! The roof bar is really cool and they adhere to all the guidelines while still keeping it super fun and friendly.
Great venue. Food and drink was great and the staff were very attentive. Was there for a book launch, great venue for such an event. Beautifil!
Crispy chicken, nachos, jazz & roop top tarrace, to match with aperol spritz and you have the perfect recipe for a Sunday gather.

Really lovely rooftop bar. Great atmosphere. Food was great too. The fried chicken was to die for.
