I found Car Warehouse back in Oct 2022 via Google searching for a Calais for my Dad to replace his old 2005 one that died, and was contacted by Regan by phone as follow-up to the online inquiry. First impression was really reassuring, no spin, no pressure tactics, and simply aiming to facilitate a sale (win win) if it was the right fit. Ran the details past my Dad, had a couple of back and forth calls with Regan (always contactable - more on that later) to understand how they operate, dealer warranty (which we opted for), servicing (which they have), and additional questions about the car itself. All seemed good, so arranged to visit a few days later with my Dad, and can honestly say this was a zero stress purchase. Ended up discussing various financial options and the usual discount tactics, ultimately arriving at a really fair deal (pay in full via debit card, rego paid for 6 months, and mechanical warranty for 12 months). Took the car for a drive, and it was literally like a new vehicle. The team are Car Warehouse had detailed it, given it a full service, and ultimately did their best to deliver. Obviously we bought it! Now the why I am doing a review part. Before buying it I did a lot of reading on Calais and this is a 2010 car (purchased in 2022 - you do the math), so it's going to have some normal issues. After a few months the coolant dropped, and I contacted Regan and he said "just bring it in and we'll look at it" - zero push-back. I did that (to their service center in the rear), and the staff were amazing. Next day it was fixed, and the mechanic explained that earlier Calais can need coolant to be topped up (giving me the instructions on how to remove the engine cover, where to find the coolant, etc) as they age. Zero issues after taking it home, and I took the advice to pay attention to the coolant and added a bottle of precautionary sealant (Holts Professional Sealit - $18 on Amazon!). Three months later and zero issues at all. To be honest I am surprised this has been exactly as it was discussed I bought the car. It's a joy to drive, and my Dad in his late 70s is thrilled he has something familiar, and didn't need to spend a crazy amount to achieve that. Regan is as genuine as they come, and it's super easy to recommend him and the team there. The thing that's impressed me most about Regan is that his effort to help (and be contactable) has been the same before and after the sale. Think about that for a long minute - it's far from the norm, and says a lot. Ultimately we buy from people.

I went in today to look at a specific car and I was really impressed. The car was clean and well-presented. The salesperson was genuinely helpful, professional and not pushy. Offered to come with me on the test drive because I didn't know the area - but was equally happy when I wanted to go alone. He told me what he was offering and left it with me. Plus, when I mentioned an independent inspection, he was fully supportive, so you know they have faith in their cars - other dealers have actively discouraged me. In fact, my experiences with other dealers have been pretty negative - from acting like I was intruding to the point that I've actually apologised for the inconvenience of having a car pulled out for me to test drive; to some just being blatantly condescending and sexist; to others that have been so pushy and tried to sell me cars that were obviously not what I wanted. That really wasn't the case when I went into The Car Warehouse; it was a breath of fresh air. I don't know if I'll end up buying the car but it was one of the better experiences I've had at a dealer so I feel like they deserve a good review.

Original Review: Well priced car, clear and transparent communication, no complaints whatsoever. Update: Car experienced mechanical issues a few months into ownership. It happens. I don't believe Car Warehouse knowingly sold the car with faults. They did however tell us that the car would come with a warranty when we purchased it from them. When I called to find out if the repairs needed would be covered under that warranty, I discovered we weren't given a warranty after all. In hindsight I should have checked the paperwork to be sure we'd been given the warranty as mentioned, but I'm not knowledgeable about buying cars and I basically just trusted the place to fill out whatever forms needed filling out. Lazy of me, I know. We were eventually offered a courtesy car while ours was being repaired, though we went with a different mechanic so never took up this offer. I don't believe Regan, the owner, to be a bad guy. He just seems incredibly busy more than anything. But ultimately, I can't say my overall experience was as positive as I'd have liked.

My impression of used car dealers haven't been the best in my life , impressions I must admit have been drawn from pushy, harsh salesman selling a substandard product. But at this place I've found a truly tops bunch of guys who enjoy their work with a boss who truly takes pride in the car yard he holds together. So if your looking for a sharply priced car , or van, and want to get looked after, while also supporting a great bunch of gents, this is your place. Don't be bedazzled by other car yards shiny appearances, slick salesmen and sneaky fine print , just go to 'The Car Warehouse Oakleigh' and leave with a smile on your face, more $$ in your pocket, and a better car than the rest :) Highly recommended to all .

The manager is very difficult to deal with. Can be very abrupt. The car I bought got through the roadworthy with a park brake that wasn't working, the one tyre had a plug put in on the edge of the side wall for a leak, the car got delivered without any rego on it (was paid within an hour of me advising him) and only 3 months rego paid instead of the 6 months as per contract (refund paid to me after about 3 weeks). Did offer for me to take the car back to their mechanic where RWC was done but almost impossible with my work hours. Paperwork not filed properly with Vic Roads either until 3 weeks after purchase Just ensure that you know about cars and be firm if you are going to buy a car from here .

Really great place with down to earth and caring staff. We originally found and went to the car warehouse because it was the only place open on a holiday which we didn’t have to work. We ended up buying our first car from them, and recently traded it in for a newer model. They are so efficient, friendly and lovely to deal with. If you’re looking for a great deal with an easy transition to drive your car away quickly hassle free no matter the price range, this is the place.

I bought my car from here a few months ago and I can't recommend them highly enough! The staff I met were all very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. They took the time to answer my MANY questions patiently and honestly. I am thrilled with the car that they helped me to choose - it suits me perfectly and I haven't had any problems at all. They offered a very good price and the car was spotless inside and out.

Absolutely not happy to deal with business with these people. The sales manager is the rudest I've ever met, so rude, no manners and they don't care about their customers. Even their mechanics are horrible, no customer service whatsoever. They just prey on vulnerable people just to make money on useless cars that don't drive properly. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE, SAVE YOUR MONEY AND GO ELSEWHERE.
