I saw the negative reviews and decided to ignore them as I wanted a dentist in the area with a holistic focus. Major mistake. My experience is almost identical to several others. They had my insurance information, called in to verify coverage and then presented what I would be responsible for before I signed off on my treatment options. I paid what I was told I would be responsible for...and then a month later get a surprise $400 bill. I had even confirmed insurance status with them via email before my appointment, during my appointment and still what I was told wasn't accurate (and wasn't honored). Based on the number of similar reviews this looks like my experience isn't unusual. All I had done was a [partial] cleaning (they claimed I needed a deep cleaning- which the next dentist said wasn't necessary) and x-rays. At a cost to me of about $550. The "Free New Patient Special" was certainly not free. Expect a high pressure environment where services are pushed aggressively and where billing can hurt far more than a dental visit. Avoid.

The best group of dentists, dental assistants, hygienists and staff in the DMV. My entire family goes to the DC Dentist. Dr. Victor has the most calming demeanor and relaxing bedside manner. He will win the trust of the most reluctant patient. Dr. Daniel most recently performed a couple fillings for me. She is knowledgeable and I adore her upbeat and sunny disposition. She patiently answered all of my questions and ensured I understood the options before performing any procedures. She’s gentle and follows up after my appointment to make sure I’m healing as expected. She’s invested in your dental health and thorough. I didn’t think you could love your dentist but I do! You are in fabulous and skilled hands with Dr. Daniel. The office staff is always professional and helpful. Scheduling appointments is fast and easy. My billing is always done correctly and I’ve never had any surprise bills from them. The only question I have is, “where can I buy The DC Dentist soundscape?” Their music playlist is fire.

Upon arriving, the staff was very receptive and helpful and when a family crisis required my immediate attention, while in the waiting room, the staff was respectful (and I felt, “silently supportive” since they could hear everything!) of my need! Dr. Victor was the best! He provided EXCELLENT “chair side manner” as we engaged in inviting “first meeting” conversation. The “second opinion” exam concluded with an “it looks good right now so let’s wait and see” diagnosis — a FAR cry from the radical recommendation of my regular dentist, and DEFINITELY more aligned with my personal preference of care! Then - the cherry on top ... there was no charge assessed for this evaluation — a WELCOMED BLESSING since I recently stopped working and am without dental insurance for the first time in my life! I am VERY APPRECIATIVE of the OUTSTANDING service Dr. Victor’s and his clinic provided and am looking forward to seeing him again as my newly chosen dental care provider!

The Team at The DC Dentist is Stellar! I have been receiving care from this Team for well over a year now. Everyone from the Customer Service Representatives to the Clinical Team are extremely knowledgeable. I can attest to the fact that they will stop at nothing to resolve your dental challenges. I love how everyone is concerned about my well being. Choosing this office reminds me of the theme song for "Cheers" where it says: Sometimes you wanna go where everybody knows your name and they're always glad you came. Recently, I was there on my birthday and the whole Team sang to me. Had me in tears. How wonderful is that!?! Lastly, no one numbs so pain free as Dr. Victor! Seamless, painless, and relaxing. I rate this office a 4 because I don't ever way then to stop striving for perfection. Dr. Daniel has been the gentlest dentist ever for me. I will miss her care, her consideration for my specific needs (chemical sensitivities), and her great explanations for why, how, and what to do to better care for my teeth and gums. At my request, they have gone fragrance-free for my appointments, they use unflavored polish for my cleanings, and they remove any potential fragrance items prior to my arrival. Though I have requested fragrance-free at other dentist offices, this is the first one to follow through. They care and go the extra mile to make my dental experience the best. I visited Dr. Victor today because I was experiencing discomfort with a lower wisdom tooth and an upper molar which needed to be removed. I am a 2-time breast cancer survivor and the chemo I took 14 years ago has caused receding gums and bone deterioration in my mouth. Needless to say, I am always apprehensive when I have to get needle injections. Well, Dr. Victor performed his usual MAGIC to put me at ease and he was extremely gentle in deadening my gums and removing my teeth. His assistant Kionna was wonderful in performing her duties while she made efforts to calm and reassure me during the injections. Afterwards, I received clear guidance on how to care for my mouth while my gums are healing. I had my first visit at DCDentist today. I have very sensitive teeth and dental anxiety. When I first walked in I was greeted by Jelaya and Vanessa. Now I am one who asks a lot of questions and they were professional and exercised patience with me and I really appreciated that. My hygienist, Rachel was awesome! I came in there all confident that I floss after ever meal and brush twice daily. Needless to say, I was doing a few things incorrectly but she kindly and tactfully showed me the correct way to floss and gave me other great suggestions. From the moment we talked I’d felt like I’d know her for years! No other hygienist will touch these teeth! Last but not least , Dr. Victor was amazing. Excellent chair side manner, personable, thorough, knowledgeable and he put me at ease. I surely recommend them. Highly.

Simply put, my 6 year old son loves the DC Dentist. I thought that would be impossible but the last two times I've taken him, when we get back to the car he asks me, "Dad, when can we come back?" I can't believe it. It didn't start off that way, but as he has gotten familiar with the wonderful dentists, hygienists and administrators, he is excited to go. You would think he was going to a friend's house. So I appreciate EVERYONE at the DC Dentist, because I like going there too and bringing my son with me makes feel happy that he is having a better experience than I could ever imagine. The DC Dentist is amazing. Fantastic care and first rate service. The whole staff is super friendly staff and Dr. Victor is a real gem. The receptionist was wonderful about setting up coordinated appointments for my girlfriend and I. The facilities are really nice and the environment is extremely comfortable. The staff and community here makes it feel more like I am hanging out in my living room with family and friends than at the dentist. The staff is not only genuinely friendly and professional, the warm community feel of the office makes each visit a truly fantastic experience. Second to none. I have never had such a caring, thoughtful and positive medical experience. As long as I live within 2,000 miles of DC I will always come here. (my girlfriend now uses DC Dentist too and she lives on the west coast!)

I had a great experience at the DC Dentist with Doctor Terry Victor, DDS. I was referred to him by a family member. I've been searching for a Holistic Dental Practice and I'm grateful for the experience. Dr. Victor's energy is pleasantly warm, friendly and professional. He took the time to explain everything to me and provided different options for the service I received. He provided me with a small bag filled with things I needed to help support my healing process.His quality of work speaks for itself. I will be recommending him to family members and friends. Mrs. Nazila assisted Dr Victor during my visit and she was very warm, friendly and sincere. Alexis is the receptionist and she is always pleasant and kind. I also had a great experience with Dr. Daniel. The atmosphere is warm and inviting.

It gives me great joy to support holistic dentistry. Sustainability is our future, for it's absolutely necessary if we wish to have a future at all. The DC Dentist has made it their business to advocate for smart dental care. I met them at the Natural Living Expo where they were raffling free teeth cleanings. My partner won the raffle and they cleaned my teeth right along with hers because that's just who they are. The staff is almost too sweet for a dental office;) The facility sits on a quiet street in SE DC and is newly renovated [with environmentally friendly design] and the atmosphere is that of a small-town office. I definitely recommend the DC Dentist for you and/or your family's oral care.

A wonderful experience! I can see why they've been named Washington City Paper's "Best Dentist" in D.C. multiple years in a row, including 2020! The front desk receptionists are very sweet and funny and Dr. Victor and the entire staff are also very kind and funny. Their eco-friendly and holistic approach to dentistry is refreshing, and I love that their commitment to the environment even includes much of the infrastructure and interiors of the office being made of recycled materials. Truly a great place, and I'm so happy to have them as my dentist office. Also, they play Beyonce and Boyz II Men in the office, so really it's the raddest and best place to make sure your teeth are great!

Absolutely wonderful!! I’m so glad that I discovered them! They are so accommodating, professional and friendly. For years I dreaded dentist visits, but now I look forward to coming to The DC Dentist! I feel comfortable and confident with their care because I know that they will take into account the health of the entire body when treating the mouth. They also did some non invasive, temporary fixes on my mouth during my pregnancy that both protected my teeth and the health of my baby and bought me time until after pregnancy when we could finish the work. AMAZING service! My experience here was the best dental experience I’ve had. Very friendly, calm & soothing atmosphere. Everyone was warm from the front desk staff to my hygienist and dentist. It was quick, I felt comfortable & relaxed the whole time. The dentist (I saw Dr. Jackson), was very informative and gentle during my evaluation. I had the same experience with the hygienist (I believe Shakora) during my cleaning. The chair was a massage chair, which was a great touch. A huge bonus is how eco-friendly and sustainable the business is, including using all natural products. I had a really great experience here and will definitely recommend them to everyone!

I love this place! If you’re looking for a dental experience without all the traditional hype, dental trauma and scare tactics ie “you need fluoride” look no further.. Dr Nazila has a loving mother approach to your dental hygiene which I value above all. Dr Daniel and Dr Victor are phenomenal as well the careful attention to detail here is what stands out the most for me.. collectively they treat you like family! My whole family goes here! Please don’t mistake the money you might pay at this establishment as some sort of money hungry situation.. I found out the hard way it is for your own good!! This is only the second time I’ve come to Dr. Terry’s (once for a cleaning and once to get a retainer made) and both times have been wonderful. Today, Ila (sp?) was the name of the dental hygienist who prepped the retainer molds before Dr. Terry came in. She was very professional and friendly. Like many people, I get nervous about going to the dentist, but she made me feel very comfortable. She even took me to the alley to show me a mural while we were waiting for Dr. Terry because I told her I love murals. I can’t wait to come back for my next appointment (never thought I’d say that about a dentist)! Highly recommend this practice.

I met Dr. Victor at either the 2015 or 2016 Green Festival. He was very personable in his presentation and offered a raffle drawing for free consultation. A friend and I won the raffle and scheduled our appointments. We were satisfied with the visit. Soon after I scheduled a follow-up and have been a patient ever since. The office is bright and comfortable. I enjoy the music played throughout the space. The staff is friendly. I have had satisfactory and pleasant service. No pain, no discomfort. I have had some extensive work done while a patient here and would recommend the dental practice to others.

Amazing doctor... But highway robbery. The receptionist at the front when asked "is delta dental ppo and connection dental ppo in network with you,?" they responded "yes." This was an emergency visit and I really needed to get the pain in my teeth checked. So filled out the paperwork, paid $115 for an x-ray and a 5 minute exam from the dentist. Mind you, I have two top tier PPO plans. I was under the impression that they were pre-charging for a root canal. The front office then informed me that the $115 was just for the exam and x-rays..clearly they were dishonest and I advise you to be careful.

All is well that ends well. In the beginning I had a WOW experience then by the timeto of temporary crown, It was quite different. I got to be asking questions. We had an encounter, I changed the exact name of my previous and to my surprise, Dr Jackson was very understanding also the finance department. I got somewhat impatient and Dr Victor was calm and reassuring. Today June 25th, my crown fit with very littlesdjustment and also both dentures. I first want to start off saying that I'm a COMPLETE BABY when it comes to going to the dentist. I have alot of anxiety and that has caused me to avoid the dentist for many years but this place made all my worries disappear. The staff and dentists are very kind and really care about their patients. They made me feel heard and created a low stress environment for me. My biggest fear at the dentist is pain but they really listened to me and adjusted when needed. This place is absolutely amazing. I recommend it 100 times over. If you have a fear of going to the dentist, they will erase that.

His advertised "Holistic/Biological Dentistry" comes into play through the design of his treatment plan for me, as well as the delivery of care and advice from him and his staff. Tayona was outstanding!! She worked diligently with me to coordinate a first time visit for my senior father. There was great communication via phone and email. This was his first time at the DC Dentist office. And even with great effort to get my father to the appointment it didn't happen. For reasons out of our control. However, Tayona was with us every step of the way following up and trying to accommodate our needs. She was very professional, polite and empathize with our situation. Koodoz to her!!! Dr. Victor saved my day! The night before I had a crown slightly pop off, I was able to get an appointment that night for the next day! They confirmed my appointment first thing the next morning, the doctor and his staff were friendly, professional, and even took time to get to know me. The DC dentist has a very friendly and professional staff, my wife and I feel like family during our visits annually. Dr. Terry and his staff are amazing. The DC dentist has helped both me and my wife when our dental problems... As an example I had a case of gingivitis for about a year-and-a-half and I tried three different dentist before finding the DC dentist which of whom cured my problem. As a herbalist and a holistic person myself they are the perfect fit, for my dental needs and longevity. I'm now married to them for life...

What dentist do you know who is physically fit and flexible enough to deliver services while standing the entire time of service because at times leaning back in a dental chair is challenging whenever I experienced boggy nasal passages due to challenges of Vasomotor Rhinitis! I've have the most wonderful experiences coming to Dr. Victor's office. Dr. Victor is very knowledgeable and uses the latest green technology to ensure you achieve a healthy mouth and smile. I hate the dentist. Seriously hate it. So much so that I hadn’t been in a number of years. Absolutely no one was judgmental or critical of me, and completely understanding. When I became a little anxious, the dental hygienist offered me some lavender oil, which was very comforting and kind. My care was prompt and thorough. I wasn’t upsold on anything. I appreciated being updated on additional costs as the appointment went on. Wonderful experience. Looking forward to my cleaning in six months!

I had the best first-time experience as a patient who suffered many years of dental problems. I have never had a partial/crown made that fit so perfectly and not needing adjustment. I call Dr. Victor a magician. Not only is Dr. Victor extremely personable and easy to speak with but I love the way he interacts with his staff - like they are family and that means a lot to me. Moreover, Dr. Victor's chair side manner is just great!!! I highly recommend him.

The staff was extremely accommodating and knowledgeable. From the moment I walked in, the receptionist was welcoming and got me set up as a new patient. I really appreciated the care and detail the hygienist had when doing my cleaning. Afterwards Dr. Terry came in and provided me with detailed information about my dental health and steps to take to preserve my teeth. This was the absolute best dental visit I have ever had and am now a lifelong patient.

I am a senior and aware of a profession staff when I see one and Dr. Victor's staff is one of the best. I have only been a client for about 8 months. Love coming here to The DC Dentist. Naturally you'd associate going to a dentist office as boring and painful but not here. The staff are caring and knowledgeable and if they don't know something they will direct you to a staff member who can help you. I've been coming to Dr.Victor of the DC Dentist for going on a year now and it's begun to feel a lot like a visit to my favorite family members house. Always a happy and pleasant time.

Always a good experience when I visit. I've suffered from dental anxiety because of the military but at Thr DC Dentist they eased that anxiety with the lavender scent to smell while they are doing work on your mouth, massaging chairs, the music, and their ability to explain to you how to have better dental hygiene. The overall atmosphere is good.

Very disorganized. The manager complains in every meeting, they are never satisfied with your work. it will never be enough to them. Toxic poor management. The environment in this office is strictly only work. You can't have a conversation with fellow co workers. The work space, is a bit overwhelming, you can not be yourself here.

I love the office, everything and everyone is great. I appreciate the time and attention that’s given to me. It’s good to know that it is a sustainable building too. I was very impressed with the professionalism and knowledge craft of Dr. Taylor Jackson, DDS. I typically go to the dentist twice a year and very particular about who I choose for cleaning. Dr. Jackson more than met the mark, she surpassed it! I have no problem recommending Dr. Jackson and her staff!

I recommend The DC Dentist to literally any one I come in contact with, even if they aren’t looking for a new dentist. I have never been a fan of going to the dentist, but I actually look forward to my appointments here. I decided to start Clear Correct this year (at 34!) because of the staff.

Dr Daniels was my dentist. She is unfortunately leaving today and it’s such a sad departure for me as she was kind, gentle, thorough, and knowledgeable. I hope they find a dentist to replace her with the same kindness, timeliness, and amazing work ethic as Dr. Daniel’s. She will be missed.

I visited Dr. Victor today due to a dental emergency I had and I was extremely satisfied. The staff was super friendly and the office was very clean. I'm always very nervous when going to the dentist but he made me feel very comfortable. I will go again and I highly recommend this dentist.

Best dentist visit I've had for many years. Everyone was friendly and informative. Costs and options were made clear. During my visit they had massage chairs for the exam, and reggae playing in the background. I did not expect relaxation + dentistry--and the holistic practice is a benefit.

The dentist's office lacked professionalism, with unfriendly staff and outdated facilities. The dentist seemed disinterested, providing minimal explanations and rushing through the appointment. Overall, a disappointing experience that left me questioning the quality of care.

Best dental practice of my life. They use biologically positive processes and materials, not mercury-based filings. The chairs give you a massage while you get your work done. Dr. Victor is very experienced, easy to talk to, and knowledgeable.
