I have been training with Fabian for upward of six or seven months now, and I am definitely reaping the results of my work. I feel significantly stronger and toned. I thoroughly enjoy the workouts, and I feel that they have effectively made me look and feel better than I did prior to enrolling in training with him. However, this review is not for me. Or for Fabian. Sorry Fabian. This review is for the blonde-haired, blue-eyed boy who works in the nutrition/supps shop. Tell me why I didn't get his name, socials, --ANYTHING?! -- when I was legitimately CHARMED, immediately SPELLBOUND by this man? I very seldom throw sarcastic jokes at people I've barely met, but I'm telling you it feels like I already knew him. He threw jokes right back at me. I retorted. We laughed. He told more jokes. We cackled. I was going to be late to my session. I didn't care. I was completely ENTHRALLED by him, and by the time we were done talking, I actually was late to my session. I have been relentlessly purchasing protein bars and supplements from the shop that I have no business or need to be buying in hopes that I see him again. WHO IS HE? Was it a fever dream? Where is this man? Perhaps I am caught in a marketing scheme? I am draining my bank account in the process of trying to find him. If you're out there, I hope you find ME, because I prefer that the line between stalkerish behavior and actual stalking are not blurred due to your elusivity. Could a coffee possibly date motivate you to show face?

The GYM is by far the BEST EQUIPPED GYM in all of San Diego County. First of all, i've known the owners RICK and BRAD for well over twenty five years. This facility is gigantic with 3 levels.... Including an open air outdoor gym... there is a variety of different equipment for ALL body parts that YOU WILL NOT FIND in any other gym... Here are some examples two different Pullover machines . at least 10 different types of Leg curl machines, So many different hack squats,Leg extensions, vertical leg press Hack squats. For Chest Hammer , different angles on Several different Chest machines. Many different biceps and triceps machines, specialty shoulder machines.....Plus Tons of back equipment, And of course you have the good old fashioned Barbells and dumbbells which are also very effective.... The rates are extremely reasonable.... And have not changed for over 20 years..... Only $300 for 1 year membership. Or you can do 3 months for a $100. Also, monthly and 6 months and daily rates are available. Open until midnight, weekdays. Weekends until 6 PM but keep in mind. They open at 4 AM.... Top champions In bodybuilding. Physique, women's fitness, bikini and wellness all train here. Great atmosphere friendly owners and staff and all around great vibes... I will add pictures later... 5 stars highly recommended. Check IT OUT. PERRY SAGART

First off I’d like to point out the fact that your 1.3 star average doesn’t add up and it very obvious that you delete most of your one star reviews that are recent. I had to go back to a year to two years to see some one star reviews. I have seen screenshots of recent one star reviews regarding Cole and they aren’t there. Way to go for protecting an absolute DUMPSTER FIRE of a person. There are a lot of adjectives to describe him but here are some. Rude, condescending, patronizing, crass, disrespectful, pathetic, antagonizing, misogynist, short fused, angry, oh and awful! Just to name a few. The guy isn’t right and need to go to therapy and anger management. The people you keep around even after knowing the issues people have with him says more about the business than about the disgruntled employee. Who is in a forward facing customer service position that he doesn’t deserve. Do better if you want better reviews. I also will screen shot this review just in case you try to remove it. It will get added right back. Have a great day mmmkkkk

Best gym in San Diego, or for that matter California. Two deadlift platforms, multiple squat racks, a mono lift (the hydrolics are broken), and dumbbells for days. They also have a huge variety of unique machines you won't find anywhere else. They also have a two safety squat bars, a chambered bar, some fat handle cable attachments, While many would consider it a 'hardcore' gym, people from all walks of life train here. From beginners to pro bodybuilders, young and old. It's truly a gym for anyone who's actually serious about training. Cost is absolutely the best deal you can get anywhere for what you're getting. No contracts or initial fees. No frills, no sauna, no pool or basketball courts. They do have showers and locker room which just recently got re-tiled. More than anything else Worlds Gym has given me an environment that has helped me succeed in reaching my goals. If you're thinking about joining come check it out, it's $10 bucks for a day pass, they don't do free trials, I guarantee you won't be disappointed.

If you want a gym with a juice bar, a sauna and a mani-pedi station, move along. World is about muscle, man muscle, woman muscle, you name it, it's about big and strong and it ain't pretty. It's a two-story warehouse packed with the widest range of muscle-building machine and free-weight stations of any gym in San Diego County. There are IFBB pros and other high level physique and bodybuilding competitors on site virtually round-the-clock. It's intimidating for a second, but soon enough it's just massively inspiring to be working out around the bodies you'll see there. The three-month or one-year membership options are among the most affordable rates of any gym in the area and the gear is vastly superior to anything comparably priced. If you use the gym for the eliptical or the spin cycle or the stairmaster or the treadmill, you'd be better off at 24-hr. But if your goal is strength and/or mass, you can't do better than World in PB.

The Gym is by far one of the best places I have trained at in over 25 years of lifting. The variety of equipment allow me to continue weight training even with joint injuries that otherwise would have put an end to my workout regiment. This is a no nonsense gym, the majority of individuals here are very serious with trainers, but this gym also provides the professional atmosphere for those who simply want to burn off some extra pounds or maintain what they already have. The staff too are very professional and always greet each patron as they enter the doors. You also will not beat the price here in San Diego. The one and only one negative is parking. The gym is busy at all times and if you go during the busiest hours you have to plan to wait 15-20 minutes sometimes to get a parking space. Just know that in advance and I highly recommend The Gym for anyone looking to stay fit or achieve goals they set out.

I love this gym, but today I had a very negative experience. I got a 3 month membership 3 months ago and was told my membership was up even though I haven't been for the last 2 months because of COVID. They said on their instagram page that they'd be freezing all memberships during COVID, which I really respected them for. I explained that I had only used one month of my membership and was honestly kind of shocked that they would try to get me to pay again and take advantage of me. When I told them that their Instagram said they would freeze all memberships, I was told, "yeah but we have to pay bills and stuff, how about I give you another month?" I talked them into letting me use my remaining 2 months like they had advertised but still I'm just a little surprised that they would try to take advantage of me when I've only had positive experiences there up until today...

During my week visit the entire front end staff was amazing. I was given a run-down of the entire place and noted that the gym had entire areas for specific body parts. You can find everything you need to kill a workout within close proximity depending on what your plan is for the day. The cardio room is upstairs and plenty of bikes, stair climbers, treadmills, and other equipment to use. The atmosphere had a unique old school feel. I was excited to see other men and women workout with passion and intensity especially in the weight room. The energy in the gym was positive. The personal trainers look like they practice what they preach. Real cast iron weights. Great place to put some work in. Best gym I have been to in a long time. I agree with other posts about the lack of parking, but it isn't enough to take away a star. I highly recommend this establishment.

  • Louis Heredia

Best gym ever! When I went to their website it said "If you are serious about fitness and want to simply train hard. The Gym is your home!... We have the most basic and sophisticated bodybuilding equipment out there!" I was a little sceptical about this because most gym just promise but in reality they never pull through. The Gym is not most gyms. This is a place were people come and share their knowledge and are passionate about working out. The Gym is home and most people in there are friendly and are willing to help out. Ever since joining The Gym I have considered it more like a family because we motivate each other and help each other out. And it is true they have the best bodybuilding equipment. At The Gym you will find old school training equipment, that you won't ever find in other gyms, as well as new modern equipment.

  • K. Sesa

Hard gyms make you hard, soft gyms... Is it a little grimey? Yes. Kinda dark sometimes like a warehouse, yes lol. No frills, no thrills but motivating as hell! And no friggin kids. Let me tell you, you don't see the slackers hanging around parking on all the equipment like it was a bench in this place. Ppl here look good, are jacked and motivated. I've done enough plushy gyms to have had my share of princesses (men & women) and this is a true gym facility. The atmosphere is great... no awesome! And yeah, no frickin creepers. I needed to do walking lunges and asked "where can I do them" They were like, outside! I was sold. Come in workout out, do your thing and meet some great ppl. If you need a slew of amenities i.e child care and stream room, sauna whatever, don't come here. It's not for you or your kids!

Was in the Mission Beach area on 10/27-11/4 from Buffalo, NY and got a week's pass with my brother to The Gym. What a fantastic place. Tons of new and old machines, lots of weights, the atmosphere is just phenomenal and the guys at the front desk were incredible including Rick the owner as well as another gentleman who always had a baseball hat on and couldn't be any nicer and hospitable. Very welcoming and like I said, the atmosphere is fantastic. Best gym I've ever been to and I've been fortunate to go to many different gyms across the country. If this place doesn't get you motivated to get in or stay in shape, nothing will. Hope to be back again but would encourage anyone traveling to the area to stop by and see Rick and the boys...

  • Sarn Saetern

Pros: I’ve been to a lot of gyms and this is by far the best in terms of size and equipment. It has a very motivational environment as it is filled with body builders and influencers. Cons: Parking is horrible. The area is trashy and surrounded by homeless. If you’re an attractive girl, expect to be approached by a “personal trainer” during your workout. The staff are cool, but the older gentleman (probably the manager) is very grumpy and unhelpful. Had to ask him a question once, won’t do it again. If your work pays for your gym and requires a printed attendance, they can’t do it, but I don’t see this being a common issue.

  • Maria Fracassi

Yes, it’s a body building gym, but not everyone is a body builder. It’s not as intimidating as people make it. I’ve been to golds gym and it’s nothing like that. I like the different sections of the gym since it’s not all one crammed room. I love that the owners are usually there to greet everyone and are usually friendly. A couple of the treadmills need a little work- almost died on a couple when sprinting since they went out all of the sudden… no sauna either. Otherwise, a solid gym that’s affordable. They don’t keep your credit card on file- you just pre pay for however long. Parking sucks, but is what it is.

  • Jeffrey Anderson

Ive been here for 25 yrs+ and love Ted and everyone @WORLDSD! I'm not a competitive BB, but have a great friend who is, I took him here for his first time and he fell in love. I live in North Park - any suggestions (websites, forums, etc for SD BBs) for other social events, hangouts, etc. I could help direct him to? He will live 2-4 miles from World's, he's down to earth, I'm trying to make his transition smooth. He's been all around world except SD until now. His enthusiasm/energy is infectious. Any thoughts/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Stay Strong Peeps and THANKS!

  • Max

Awesome gym if you're looking for an old-school/hardcore place to workout. My one gripe is that parking can be tough to find, and sometimes there are waits for equipment, but they have enough that it's manageable. The membership is pretty cheap for what you get and I definitely wouldn't want to go anywhere else for the same cost. Gyms don't get much more legit than this one, and that "hardcore" atmosphere definitely fuels your workouts. Grunting and slamming weights accepted and embraced. If you're looking for a peaceful workout this isn't the place.

  • Charles Extrom

Amazing selection of equipment, I especially appreciate that there are multiple benches/leg presses/leg curl machines. They also have very specific machines you cant find at your 'regular' gym. Yes, it is a 'hardcore' environment, but I tend to like that sort of place. Staff is friendly and personable. Lived in SD for 7 years and wish I started coming here sooner! If I had one complaint, it'd be the locker room. Luckily, I live close by and prefer to shower/change at home so it's a non-issue. Price is probably the best bang for buck you'll get in SD

  • Michael L.

The Gym San Diego is the best gym in America. Rick and his staff are complete professionals. They greet everyone daily with a smile. The Gym has all of the best equipment and they’re always adding more. It’s a mixture of the newest equipment available on the market and the tried and true old school stuff. Although the parking lot is large especially for San Diego, the only downside that I can think of is that parking is treacherous at times. There is no better gym in the land and San Diego is the best place to live on earth.

  • Victoria Garcia

Just had the worst experience at this place. Got yelled at for working out inside and didn’t know the areas were closed off as I saw many people working out inside. I went for the first time a few days ago and the rules were different. I had no idea I was not allowed to do this since it was ok the first time I went, no one said anything to me and one of the guys working there approached me and basically ridiculed me for being in the area. Unfortunately I paid $100 for 3 months and after 2 days I will not be going back.

  • Jorge Cervantes

Visited San Diego a month ago and finding a gym that met all my needs was hard. Nevertheless, TG San Diego met all my needs. The people who go there are all nice, the employees are all welcoming and the environment is everything. I found it best to go in the morning to avoid the craziness of traffic and whatnot but I know that I can go back whenever I’m back in San Diego. Pros: outdoor area, many machines for everything, lots of weights, huge space. Cons: limited parking (which is normal in San Diego) Thank you!

  • Hank Groff

I have becomes friends with Brad the owner and he has put together one of the best gyms in all the United States. Recently on generation iron rich gaspari went to visit and gave glowing reviews. If you're a hardcore bodybuilder this is The place to train. If you're a person that would prefer to go to LA fitness or planet fitness, you don't want to step into this gym. I'm in my early 50s but I love the camaraderie of the old school gym workouts. From California to Florida it is a great place to work out.

  • Alfredo Dizon

I give this gym 5 stars for the variety of equipment they have but really 2 stars for the environment and atmosphere. It’s just that all the people that work out there are not who I aspire to be or who I want to look like. I think it’s important to surround yourself of who and what you aspire to be. I respect what everybody do Les there but it seems like everyone are out to be body builders here so it’s just not my cup of tea. Oh and it’s hard to get in and out of their parking, everything is tight.

  • Rachel D

No space for doing any workout, as there are so many groups of people working out together. also, the ventilation is non-existent, as I was dripping sweating 10 minutes into my workout. I understand “rush hour” and it’s a prime time for others to be working out, yet this was not a great first impression. Most of the weights had fresh sweat dropped all over the handles and people putting their water bottles and big gym bags to “claim” their equipment... I won’t be back unfortunately.

  • Gerald McClintock

Best Gym ever. I worked out here 15+ years ago when it was a World Gym. Came back in 2023 and it was even better than I remembered . Iron plates , hardcore clientele, rocken music . It was a really , really motivational experience to come back to. The staff was super friendly. Love how the gym is arranged by muscle group. Love how the equipment is the real deal. Love the variety of equipment per muscle group. The locals are so lucky to have a gym like this to call their own.

  • John Casey

Boy what a disappointment! Be careful and read your contract carefully. I lost my job and had to move out of town and the management would not refund me for my unused 1 year membership...because, "that's their policy". I would have thought that when something unforseen happens to one of their customers they would try to do the right thing due to the circumstances. They won't...not customer friendly, only cares about the money, not you!! Doesn't deserve even one star.

  • Jojo Solarin

Best bodybuilding gym in town! All metal plates none of that rubber nonsense. Every-time I walk in I feel like a kid walking into a candy store. Hardcore equipment all around and the melodious sounds of 45s clanging against each other against the backdrop of heavy metal music. Great atmosphere of highly motivated meatheads and some of the most beautiful women in the world all working towards a common goal of being the gnarliest version of themselves. I love it here.

  • Briana Ramirez

This is the best gym in all of San Diego area. The staff is friendly and always welcoming. If your a serious lifter or someone who is just starting their fitness journey, this is the best choice. Need a trainer? Theres one around every corner. Need a late gym sess? Their open till midnight. Perfect gym for everyone, weather your a runner, lifter, bikini model, or just someone who is ready to take their next step in their journey. I would give 10 stars if I could.

  • Jane McKenna

I am in town, as a family member is sick . I asked if they had a Bosu ball and they said Yes, they are all over the Gym! The one Bosu they had was over inflated! So I asked again, and he said well No, they don't have them Don't lie to me. I would not of wasted my valuable time and money!!! This gym is hot as hell, and dirty! The equipment is old, and not updated! I am a Personal trainer, I will never come back!!!

  • Jose Garcia

Visited Pro To Col Sports Systems on the second floor. They are a WORLD CLASS set of professional trainers. If you want the best chance of being an elite athlete or just need to get fit, these professionals will take good care of you. I've had injuries all of my life. I am now two years injury free and I credit this remarkable group of hard working professionals to that. Thank you for helping me become my best self.

  • B

If you want to witness a brawl, be surrounded by farting enhanced athletes, see a sea of equipment but wait in line for the same 2 pieces, smell food being microwaved, this is your gym. It’s stuffed to the gills with equipment but it’s quantity over quality. Rock bottom membership price but it’s not worth getting accidentally injured by jumbo dudes pummeling each other. The staff are really awesome, though.

  • Daniel M

My partner and I have been coming to this gym for over two and a half years. The guys that work here are the nicest set you could ask for. The people that work out here are honest, kind and unbelievably helpful. This is a real gym, men and women come here to get work done and reach their potential. This is not a spa where you go to relax and hang out and expect it to have fancy body wash and warm towels.

  • Alex & Erika on YouTube

My dad and I have been going to "The Gym" for about a year now. This place has been great. We're both pretty out of shape compared to everyone else in the gym but we have a great trainer and everyone is cool and friendly. It can seem a bit intimidating at first but everyone is there to get their work in. No BS, just a great place to work out. Much better option compared to a typical franchise gym.

  • David Van

I’ve known Rick the owner since 1988 when it was Golds Gym. Rick is amazing and very knowledgeable in body building. I’ve seen a lot of successful body building champions come from his gym, as well as saw Rick win the California State Body Building Championship too. There’s a lot of positive energy and experience under Rick’s management and leadership that I’ve seen in the last 31 years.

  • Bill Jones

3 story building with every conceivable piece of equipment. I have been gong to gyms over 50 years & I have never seen such bulked men & women. Most of them look like they've been photographed for a muscle magazine. Staff [bulked men] friendly & helpful. Walls a plastered with about a hundred posters of body builders. You know who I didn't see? Not one picture of Arnold. Amazing place.

  • Anthony Thomas

Just joined, I'm from MD and it's refreshing to see trainers that are in better shape than me helping clients. Huge gym, pros everywhere and a great outdoor section that I like. Prices are the most reasonable in the greater San Diego area: no contract, no sign up fee, plenty of equipment and the locker rooms/bathrooms are clean. Gyms in MD should really take a page from this place.

  • Danny Tanabe

Best gym hands down! I don’t live in San Diego (yet) but every time I’m down here this is the place. And as far as these people commenting about covid-19 outbreak, just please stop. I can go on and on about how ridiculous you sound, but you’re already doing it on your own. Stop leaving bad reviews for the sole reason of bashing this gym; if you’re too scared to go, then stay home.

  • Teddy Blanco

This is not your family fit kind of gym, those who come here are very serious about fitness, lifting working out. If you don't like the grunting, yelling, weight slamming sweat dripping every where, this isn't the place for you. Everyone here is family, everyone is on the same page. Everyone is here to help each other out. More importantly here to lift workout and grind out.

  • Tarryl Benedetto

I call The Gym asking for a day pass. "No we don't do day passes but we do offer a week pass for $50." I drive 20 minutes out of my way, arrive at the front desk. "No we don't offer week passes. We only offer month passes." Me: "I just called 15 minutes ago and someone told me you offer week passes for $50" Him: "I don't know who would have told you that". Thanks jerkwads.

  • ITALUXX 《

I love this gym, but the parking lot is just too small. I have been going here for 5 months and it has become unbearable. I would give this gym 1 star if i was just going off of the parking lot. Huge gym. Tiny parking lot. There’s very good equipment here, so I hate this so much. I feel like I’m being locked out of paradise. For that reason I will no longer go here.

  • Esmeralda Doyle

You won't find a more complete gym I'm SD for this fair price! Parking is bad tho as I read about it before, so if you are in rush you may plan to wait around for a spot in rush hours. Front desk guys were friendly. I would suggest you to bring a small towel for working out on machines, I have seen several people don't cleaning up their sweat after using machines.

  • li lee

Old school gym with a great vibe. Reasonable rates and friendly staff. Nothing fancy - just lots of plates, dumbbells, and machines. Geared more towards bodybuilders. Weights on first floor, outside area for tires/TRX/lunges, cardio and locker rooms on second floor. Parking can be a bit tight, especially since it's shared with some automotive businesses.

  • Tyson Arden

I love this place. Whenever I am visiting this is my ideal workout spot. They have daily and weekly use available. It's a no BS gym with every type of workout equipment you could imagine. Keep in mind this is primarily a bodybuilding gym but the people are really friendly and welcoming. Just respect others and the gym equipment. Maybe I'll see ya there!

  • David Zamora

Great gym with really friendly staff. There are no TVs or WiFi, just weights and machines. You get the impression that people go there just to workout. It can be intimidating considering all posters and people there, but everyone is there to workout. I recommend this place to any looking for a simple gym and that just want to lift weights.

  • Dante Schrantz

The absolute best gym in all of San Diego. The price is right there’s no hidden fees or hidden anything. The only downside is the parking but even then you can find parking just down the street or a few blocks away. Even with this the equipment and amazing staff make up for it. If you aren’t lifting here you’re doing something wrong.

  • Martin Petro

The best gym on the planet! I traveled many places and visited many gyms but this one is unique. Amazing location in San Diego with big car park. Great atmosphere and people, motivational music, great equipment and people behind desk very friendly and professional. Great old school gym. Must visit. Martin Petro, Wnbf Pro bodybuilder

  • Nick E

Great gym as far as equipment and space are concerned, but the owner or manager is a roided out nutcase. Just waiting to explode over anything. Struggled to decide whether to give one or two stars, but the other staff are really nice so I gave two. Get new management or get the owner to go home, whoever he is

  • Marie L'amour

Best gym hands down! Best selection of bodybuilding equipment around. Only cons: They really could use an In Body scan included in the price... parking could be better and need to update the cardio equipment upstairs. It is always broken or out of order. Otherwise, nothing beats this gym around San D.

  • Ryan Smith

I've been going here for over a year, and this place is great. Good price, plenty of squat racks/power cages, and machines too. I wouldn't complain if another deadlift platform showed up, but by avoiding peak hours I can always have reliable access to what I need. The employees are great too.

  • Drew Ottaway

Best place for bodybuilding training in the world hands down. I’ve trained at all sorts of gyms across the US and nothing will ever compare. Rick is an amazing person and runs the place better than anyone could expect. This gym saves lives and provides a home for us iron addicts.

  • Chet Carter

Spent the month of August in La Jolla. Hands down the best gym in San Diego. I am 50+ easily one of the best gyms i’ve ever used. A ton of the old school equipment and great people. Wish I had this gym in Scottsdale . When I visit every summer, no question this will be my gym!!.

  • ByungYeop Jin

THIS IS THE BEST GYM THAT I EVER SEEN!! So friendly staff, never wait for your routine(cause there are bunch of equipment there), everybody hardworking,,Everthing included in $100 for 3 month...! Hope it also has 1 day pass so that I can sales to my friends too …

  • David Frederiksen

Amazing gym, great staff, has all the equipment you need and more. Outdoor space for working out outside. Never had to wait for a machine or rack. Parking is tight, so get ready to circle the lot a couple of times for a spot. Overall, quality place for a bodybuilder.

  • Shelbi Lowe

Best damn gym around. No contracts, hidden fees. Just pay for whatever length of membership you want and go workout with some bombass equipment. Front desk guys always say hello and are friendly as can be. No sauna but has posing rooms and locker rooms with showers.

  • Bedo_

I was running on the treadmill and cole turned it off and i flew towards a pregnant woman that was doing a deadlift, the baby got launched on me and all my bones are broken now. Also the 150kgs fell on me and now I'm paralyzed, thanks cole My TikTok: gwnbedo

  • Michele Wallace

Great gym but beware the parking SUCKS. I’ve had my car hit and ran twice and they don’t have cameras. It’s not that it’s small (I always find a spot) but the way the lines are painted makes ZERO sense. Makes it a nightmare to pull in and out of spaces.

  • Mauricio Rizzada BJJ

The house off pain, it’s the number 1 Body builder gym in south California so many great champions are in this place legends off bodybuilding world live here my first gym when I come to United States back in 2006 it’s like home hard core work no pretend

  • Hussein M.

Awesome GYM with amazing staff. Everyone greets you as you walk in. Bathrooms smell all the time.. I feel like the price can be maintained a bit better but overall it's a great gym if your looking to bulk. They literally have all the machines you need.

  • SHOLAN “Mr.” ALI

Is not only gym also great community. Find old people young people. They do offer for 3 months for low price. Also you will see some of the customers or trainees are rude. Great place. Friendly staff . I'm a proud of my Trainer there, Mr.Eric

  • Vince Toscan

Awesome gym great vibe. Easy to join takes 3 minutes, great staff and personal trainers, also as a side note some of the most fit and beautiful women in San Diego work out there. Lots of pro bodybuilders, beginners and everything in between.

  • EFIT

I can't say enough about this gym. Everyone makes you feel at home. Like old school days of iron. This is the best gym and gym atmosphere I have ever ever experienced. 35 years of hard noise blood, sweat, tears, and greatness!!!!!!!!

  • All City Fitness

I had the pleasure of finding this gym during my time in San Diego. Top notch selection of equipment and the owner makes you feel like you are not just a another membership.. will def be back soon.. thanks for everything …

  • Brett Higgins

Old school style gym with plenty of free weights, light on the treadmill/elliptical expanses seen at other gyms. Great if you want just a gym, but not if you want classes, yoga or fancy amenities. No yearly fees, no contract needed

  • Xenia Diniz

Highly recommend this location if your goal is to lift weights and get in workout. It's simple and has what you need. Also very friendly staff. The bathroom's not so much at least for the women's, a place of improvement for sure.

  • Maeve

Love the old school feeling of TG. Super nice staff, no hidden fees or ulterior motives. Just good lifting Anyone who is mad about the owner in the reviews is embarrassed that they got called out for bad gym etiquette

  • Ruta P.

Love this gym. Member for over five years now and I can say it is best equipped gym in San Diego. Additional parking would not hurt as sometimes gets hectic and have to circle around until someone gets out but 100% worth it.

I’m grateful for the way management handled covid restrictions. Will be a member to this gym for life. I can list a hundred reason to work out here but I’ll let you find out by yourself. Buy a day pass and take a look.

Decent gym. Kinda hardcore. The worst part of the gym is all the meatheads. Not because they're meatheads, but because they rip farts all day from eating pounds of protein powder and there isn't that great of airflow.

  • Greg C

I really like this gym. Great for bodybuilding or powerlifting accessory work. Memberships and the day passes are very affordable. I don’t live in San Diego anymore, but when I did this was the place to lift for sure.

  • Donald Hegwald

The gym in PB is the best gym I've ever been to. Always packed but so much equipment you won't have to wait. Everyone here is big. They are also great people who are ready to give advice and support the community.

  • K Love

Been to gyms all over the world. If you are into a little more of the hardcore iron addict lifestyle this place is top notch. Probably one of the best no frills, straight down to business gyms I have ever been to.

  • Mary Allain

Good deal of lifting equipment and variety to target every muscle. For serious fitness enthusiasts. Could use a bit more floor space for lunges and kettball swings. Nice friendly staff. Needs more parking!

  • Ben Liniger

Epic place to train, old school bodybuilding gym with plenty of space and equipment. Affordable day pass rates. I train here 2-3x a year when in San Diego. Wish we had a place like this in Fort Worth, TX!

  • Mark Milton

Great meathead gym. The size of the crowd tells you that this gym is intended for serious bodybuilders. The staff and patrons were very friendly. Loved the outdoor workout area. Only $20 for a day pass

  • Kevin Brumett

Hands down the best gym in San Diego. This is the Mecca of San Diego and if you’re looking for amazing equipment with an even better environment this is the place for you. Come smash out your goals!!!!

  • Robert James

Great gym for motivated individuals not for the oversensitive average gym rat. Parking is super tight, good luck, staff is awesome, trainers/therapist are soso. It's worth the hour drive for me

  • Candice Tubay

I came to the gym with my mom and some guy named Cole walked up to us and said my mom was to old to be allowed to live any longer and than threw her in the dumpster not cool cole …

  • Justin

I like this gym has a lot of free weights there's three sides in there downstairs is all free weights upstairs is the treadmill and all that and outside there's free weights too squat racks

  • Heather Brown

Been going to The Gym for a little over a month now, love it! Wide range of equipment, and I love the outdoor options. I'd give them more stars, but they don't play nearly enough Metallica.

  • Neiko Hill

Worked out Mirko at THE GYM, after our first week together he immediately assessed my strengths and weaknesses. He pushes past your comfort and it shows in your workout, body, and life.

  • Ross M

Great gym... It is very much a body building gym... So you can come here and just get down to business with out worrying about making any one uncomfortable or making to much noise.

  • apple sauce

I wish Grinder gym was still renting out the roof top but they aren't anymore. Wish they had more regular people like me but everyone has giant sinewy muscle arms and stern faces.

  • Ash H

Hands Down best GYM in San Diego, Period! It's not your typical Gym you would think, it's a gym for serious body builders. Great management and super awesome and friendly people.

  • Heather Kemp

I would recommend this gym to everyone because of there competitive pricing. I have been very satisfied with my progression to a physically fit body with healthier eating habits.

  • Sean Geraci

FUARKK brah. Gym for the sikkest of the sik. Down your pre-workout, say what's up to Brad, and get down to business. If you're about the lifestyle then this is the gym for you

  • Valiant Pico

Excellent old-school gym with plenty of equipment and inexpensive rates. They recently redid the parking lot to make finding a spot easier and added a rooftop weight section.

  • Elijah Pruitt

Best price in san diego for a gym! All Serious Body Builders go here. Parking isnt the greatest but that's to expect with any gym. You can beat the price or the equipment

  • Gary

People are dushbags and non helpful. Other gyms with body builders have nicer people. I am fit and strong i take it serious. But these dudes need to change the image.

  • Jeremy Joseph

The best gym I've been to. Quality equipment. Cordial, top-notch staff at the front desk. The price hasn't changed for years apparently & its just great overall.

  • Steve Ding

Great atmosphere for anyone wanting to take their fitness to the next level! Don't know how to use a piece of equipment? No problem, friendly people everywhere!

  • Marian Bobian

Amazing gym. If I’m ever back on the West Coast, I will most definitely be visiting again. Thanks for the hospitality shown on my visit. Y’all rock‼️ …

  • Gil Ayala

You will never find a gym with so many happy people, good equipment and spaces to have the best training, managed by very humble and friendly people.

  • Avi Skidelsky

Awesome environment if you're looking for hardcore and inspiration. You'll find athletes from all divisions training together and pushing each other

  • Vadim A (Vadim)

The best Gym ever! Super friendly staff and the greatest variety of gym equipment I've ever seen. Very inspiring to workout alongside bodybuilders.

  • Dan Eckersley

I always visit when I'm in from out of town. No membership needed. Staff is fantastic, lots of equipment, and some of the best scenery around town!

  • Tom Bolger

Best and most complete gym in San Diego! I wouldn't go anywhere else and strongly recommend the gym for anyone who lives in Southern California

  • Kenny Song

Was a little intimidating at first but everyone I’ve met is very friendly. Plenty of weights and machines. Good environment to push yourself.

  • Michael Bell

The equipment here is excellent. The staff is extremely courteous. Most importantly it has established a great gym culture. Best gym in SD.

  • Kirk Derr

This is not a "health club" this is a Gym...old school Arnold no pansies need apply...it's about muscle, sweat, intensity, hot bodies...

  • Jonathan Chambers

Not helpful at all and will say anything for you to sign up. Once they have you locked in good luck on getting what they promised you.

  • K20UCHIHA

Cole did my boy dirty. DO NOT JOIN.. CANCELLED them . Also Someone told me "C.o.l.e took my pants off in the middle of my deadlift PR"

  • Casie Bennett

This is far and away my favorite place to train. The energy and enthusiasm of the members and staff is contagious and so motivating.
