Not the most organized Home Depot. The staff is considerably less experienced in home repair and customer service than other hardware stores in the area. The big issues I have: 1. I've asked for help finding more items than in any other store. There are a lot of tools not where they're supposed to be and too many displays far away from the aisle that the app says the tools or equipment are. 2. The flooring and doors section has a lot of out-of-stock items that do not get restocked for months. I tried getting a few trim pieces for Pergo flooring, specific tile they said they had on the app, and a 30x80 door for months and had to drive down to Clairemont. 3. The staff is mixed in experience. Some are incredibly helpful, but I have seen some terrible service too. I've heard some bad advice given to customers for renovation or repairs. I've seen staff tell a customer to do something that was very much against building code. I've also heard staff members critique projects (never encountered this until I moved here). 4. The check out line: if you've shopped here enough times, you have probably noticed how disorganized check out can be. The "wait here" line is past the self-service check out, so people will wait where they're expected to, then turn around when a self service spot opens, running into someone standing in line behind them assuming they wanted a cashier. I've also seen so many cashiers direct customers to stand at the wait line, so it's almost as if they're unaware of the confusion they've created. Just move the "wait here" back or make two separate lines for self service or cashier. 5. Truck rental. I've only rented once from here and I won't do it again. The check out took over 30 minutes. In this time, the staff restocked my already purchased items and left my cart empty by the loading zone. I tracked down someone to help, but it took about 15 minutes. I was told that it was an abandoned cart (I was also told by the same department to leave it there in order to check out the truck) and had to provide proof that all of my items were purchased. They then had to recut all of the wood and find all of the items (no surprise, I was expected to do this, not the staff) and then return to the staff member that was originally helping me. He checked out and went home by the time I got all of my items back. I then had to return back to the customer service desk, reexplain everything, and then was told that I would not get my time reimbursed for the truck. This was later remedied, but it took about 1 hour and 30 minutes.. A few minor things to note: 1. The parking lot. There is a Pro section, but it's in the east corner of the lot. Not well marked and a lot of cars double park there. The loading area is usually busy and it's nice to have an easy exit, but it tends to get backed up and people walk through there without looking. 2. COVID protocol: the staff wear masks. The stations are cleaned after use, but not all of the self service registers are. Unfortunately, a lot of the aisles are narrow, so you tend to be in close quarters if you're browsing. Just something to be aware of.
I am having a difficult time getting a toilet installed which I purchased through Home Depot. Six people have been unable to help me pay to have the Home Depot installers come to my house after two weeks and seven calls (five different persons) and I visited the store Service Desk too without getting it resolved. I was in the Mira Mesa Website when I purchased the toilet, but it was for delivery only. When I checked out I clicked yes on the "do you need installation-$199" and the order would not go through-I called the 1-800 number and their IT guy could not figure out why the labor code was causing the order to fail, so he said take out the request for installation to complete the purchase and work it out with the store... I called the store and they said I needed to buy the install at time of purchase and I explained the IT problem. After two calls giving me different answers, I was told I would likely have to come into the service desk (20 minute drive). Then I talked to Destiny in plumbing and she said she would call the installers directly and have them reach out to me for the quoted price-five minutes later ARS Rooter calls as the "contracted installer of Home Depot" but told me they would "give me a quote" for the job. Lacking a $199 promise from ARS, I called the service desk (Jackie) and was told to come in and a manager could override the order to add the install. I drove 20 minutes to the store and two service desk people tried to override the order (explaining that my order was internet-based and they could not add to it) and they could not get the install order to work either. They said they would call their approved installer "Delta" to have them give me the $199 price-I witnessed the young man at the Service Desk leaving Delta a message to call me and give me the price for install. These service desk persons had no idea why Destiny in plumbing would tell me ARS was the installer for the store since it was actually Delta... Delta did not call me, so I reached them several days later and they said they only work with a Purchase Order from Home Depot in CA and Florida and cannot set up install directly with me so I would have to call the service desk again and ask for a PO to be issued. This time Emily at Service Desk told me she would have the "after sale service team" call me to straighten it all out... No such call came from this team either. It has been two weeks of multiple people providing different stories and still no ability to get the agreed price to install the toilet. I am ready to return the entire purchase and go to Lowes... My only advice is if you want something installed, go into the store to buy it and set up install because the internet for Home Depot is not really connected to the store and they don't seem to be able to work together. I have already spent the $199 in time and frustration.
My husband and I went to home depot in Mira Mesa in SD CA 92126 to get our floors installed. We had the worst experince ever… Be aware with home depot flooring dept and specially JW flooring they ll mess your home and not care about their customers. We approached them in april 2021, It took them more than a month to get out material. Coming to know half of the materials were missing. It took @homedepot 2 and half months to send in contractors from @JW_Floor. When the installer arrived from @JW_Floor they had no idea why were they sent to our place and what work was needed to be done. The installer asked us to tell him what needs to be done. When we told him flooring needs to be installed. He started ripping our carpet and took down all the doors as well. Half way through the installer realized before he rips the carpet he had to inform us that incase the floor was uneven he was unable to level the floor in order to install the flooring. Most of the contractors who install the flooring are equipped to level the floor inorder to install the vinyl flooring. After he was done ripping the carpet he realised he couldn’t install the new flooring and is not equipped to level the floor &left our house abruptly and in a mess & he didn’t even reinstall the door our our bedroom and cabinet that he had taken apart. We tried to get in touch with home depot and JW floors there was no response from either one. Emily from flooring dept of Home depot didn’t even have the courtesey to return our call, before they left for the day. On the other hand Mark from the same dept, kept hanging up may call without even letting me finish and said we are very busy here in the store and hung up my call. This is not exoected out of home depot 92126 customer service. We approached a new general contractor and when that person came over to take a look at it he said any person who installs vinyl flooring should be leveling your floor as most the 80's and 90's builts in California are not level and it is not a big issue. He even mentioned that home depot has not delivered more of the materials needed to install the flooring, it was also mention by the installer who came from JW flooring. Its been 4 days and @HomeDepot @JW_Floor have still not come up with a solution. Beware of @homedepot when you get things delivered to pick up as may miss most of your items. We went to the store today and kept asking to talk to the manager was not willing to have a word with us and we had to speak to someone from the customer service. Dept. Please do not waste your time and effort.
I could not be more disappointed with this Home Depot after the last 2 days. I ordered an item online to be shipped to the store. After pulling up to the curbside pick up and following proper instructions to notify the store of my arrival, they failed to come out to my car with the item. 20 minutes later, I tried calling the store to see if someone was coming out. 10 minutes of constant ringing, no one picked up. I went inside to the return counter, and was ignored by 3 employees as I stood in line while they chatted or placed merchandise into carts, not even a “someone will be with you in a moment” comment. After waiting for 10 minutes, one of the employees finally decided to help me, she proceeded to give me a million excuses as to why no one came out to the curb to drop off my item, even though I didn’t ask for an explanation, I just told her the facts and asked her to help me. she gave me my order and I left. I got to my car and realized they gave me the wrong item. I went back inside, only to find there was a line. The girl who had previously helped me acknowledge I was in line and I told her it was the wrong item. Yet, she didn’t respond...no comment like “I’m so sorry, come with me and we will get this sorted out...or...I’m sorry but I’ve got to go. Don’t worry the next representative will help you shortly”...she just walked away. so I waited in line again for ANOTHER 10 minutes. When it was my turn, I had to reexplain my issue and this rep returned my item. They didn’t have the correct item in store so she said she’d call me later that afternoon to place the order. I received a call at 9pm that night from someone named Ethan (no last name, no department) asking me to quickly call him back so he could place the order. He didn’t give me a return phone number. I tried calling back the next morning to the missed call number but wasn’t able to locate an Ethan in the directory. I tried calling the store, and was again met with a never ending ring tone. I’m extremely disappointed in Home Depot’s customer service. I’m contemplating working with Lowe’s which is a good 30 minute drive away from my house just because of this nightmare from the last two days.
It's a home improvement store, so it does that well. I don't ever know what exemplary home improvement customer service looks like, so I'm not weighing in on that. It's generally just fine in that regard; however, there's two things that really irked me about this place 1. They were incredibly rude to my mother who was renting the flat bed truck. They kept hassling her about how it wasn't filled with gas, but--and I promise you this--we had just filled it. It almost feels like it's performative how they get as if it's an easy way to scam you out of a few bucks. 2. This location apparently has a really huge problem when it comes to shipping or preparing orders. You can read the other reviews. I'll add mine. I just wanted to get a trash bin. I had time so I scheduled it to be brought out so I could pick it up. It was one trash receptacle, right? Easy fetch and drop off, yeah? I checked the trashbin they gave me and the hood of the bin wouldnt attach itself to the bottom. The top was circular. The bottom was kinda square-ish. The slots that were meant to interlock them also didn't fit flush. I went to the aisle where the trash bins were. The hood they gave me was located at opposite ends of the aisle from where the bottom container was. It's literally also just matching shapes. You know the little block toy they give you as a kid--where you put geometric shaped blocks into similarly shaped holes? It's that. This is what was required. They tried to match a circle to a square. They had to literally go out of their way to match a circle to a square because the hood component was right next to the bottom part in the aisle. They must seriously have some issues in the back or just generally hate the customer base (I mean I can understand in that case). I don't get how anybody can be so lackadaisical about these things. I feel you have to intentionally try and mess it up almost.
Today while shopping for a new refrigerator, I had the worst experience ever at this Home Depot on Mira Mesa Blvd. My Saturday morning started off wonderful until I ran into the most rudest associate named Kenneth at the home appliance area. I had some questions regarding a fridge I had seen online and also called the day before about and was told it was available at this home depot. It also didn't matter too much if it was this particular fridge or another, I had some questions how it worked if I purchased one today. Kenneth rudely kept cutting me off and talking about if I go anywhere else they will tell me the same thing or worse about time and stock. I asked him why so many "no's" or why so negative and the cutting me off so much? He seemed to not really care of how his actions were or how he was making me feel as a customer. I said thank you for nothing and found my husband and had him put all things he had in his hand to purchase put back and we were out of that store really quick. I was NOT going to spend my hard earned money in that place! I went across the street to Best Buy and guess what? I was greeted with a friendly smile, then met a wonderful associate who listened without rudely interrupting me. He helped me find a fridge that fit my needs and budget (which Kenneth at Home Depot never took the time or interest to ask me what I was looking for or my budget or ANYTHING). We purchased with ease no complications and scheduled our delivery and wala, we were out the door and off to grab lunch. Best Buy turned my day better. Home Depot has to address that POS Kenneth guy and have him get some stellar service training I wonder how many more customers he made feel the way I did. Too bad Home Depot.
Horrible customer service. My wife and I were there to pick up a vanity we had ordered online. We reached there at 1:45 pm and the gentleman on the computer kept trying to bring up the order for 15 minutes and kept getting logged out. We were waiting patiently but had to inform him that we needed to leave soon to pick up our 1st grader from school. He transferred us to another deck with a woman named Kelly. We told her the entire situation and she kept telling us that we needed to wait and we shouldn’t have ordered online if we wanted to get the item quickly. When my wife protested after another 15 minutes had passed she shushed her. I asked her to call her manager and a woman named Cat came. We told her that we were there already for 30 mins and needed to get the item as we must leave soon to pick up our kid. She told us that if we were in a hurry we could leave. She said with disdain that since there is a Home Depot in Carmel Valley we should not have ordered from Mira Mesa. When my wife told her that there was no Home Depot in Carmel Valley she said she wasn’t talking to her but only me and arrogantly pulled out a sheet with locations. When she noticed that what she thought was Carmel Valley location was in at some other place she didn’t even apologize. I asked her to call her manager and she pretended to go away. Luckily after wasting 45 minutes there out item arrived and we were able to leave just in time to arrive at the school. But I have decided that given there are other retailers who treat their customers much better this was our last purchase at Home Depot.
I have to say that I have lived in the Mira Mesa area off/on for 20 years. My experience today at this Home Depot upset me enough to write a review, which I rarely do. When I go to home depot, I don't expect much assistance, it is just the way it is. This issue came when I went to check out. I went to the check out lane that actually has a clerk, as I usually utilize the military discount the Home Depot offers. I have never had an issue receiving this discount. When I got to the point of checking out - never received a hello or good afternoon - just a "next". I showed the clerk my military ID and she scanned her badge and completed the transaction. I noticed the military discount did not appear on the receipt. I showed the clerk the receipt and her only response was, I scanned my badge. I asked her to check the receipt for the discount - and she said if I wanted it I would have to go see the gentleman sitting in a chair up against the wall by the exit. When I went to him and explain the situation to him - he looked at the receipt and said it didn't look like it was on there. He then said he would have to void the transaction and re-check me out. He let out a sigh as he sat in the chair up against the wall. I then asked him if that was a problem, he then told me I would need to go over to another area. Both clerks acted like they were so put for first me asking for the discount, and then for asking them to correct their mistake. I was so frustrated over the event, I left without getting the discount. Very poor customer service.
If I can give a zero star review I would, but I can’t! As I’m looking down through the reviews, I see that there is a lot of one stars does not surprise me I came in on the 23rd and bought my husband a tool came to find out that they had given me the wrong tool. I literally pointed to the advertisement on the wall and they gave me still the wrong tool. Came to the Home Depot in mira mesa. They suggested I get a store credit so that my husband can pick up the right tool To make the story short, they don’t have it, and my husband came to purchase other items with the store credit they wouldn’t let him purchase them because the gift card is under my name not his which the gentleman at customer service, and New exactly that this was a Christmas gift and then my husband would be the one purchasing it not me Now it has been Three days since I purchased the item and they will not allow me to return the store credit to my card The plan was to make me get store credit …. I could never return anything even if I wanted to. I know there’s a way to trick the system I mean we make the damn computers. Why can’t they just help me out and give me my money back I’m within the return policy I purchased it on my card. What’s the problem? and it wasn’t my fault that the employee didn’t advise me that if I would put it on the store credit like he suggested that I could never get my money back Guess who has officially become a Lowe’s shopper my husband !!!
Day to day experience is highly variable depending upon who's working and which department your needs take you to. The following are my observations of all stores, not just this particular one. Stock choices have slid over the years. The merchandise management is abysmal and the web site often shows stock that isn't present in-store and vice versa and not just on seasonal items. Stock location varies from store to store. Example: redwood lattice may be in outdoor garden at one store while in building materals at another. Some employees are very helpful while others seem to hide from customers. Delivery options are generally not as prompt as the competition's. Whoever's brainchild the new point of sale layout was, needs to give a thorough account if their thinking. It's ergonomically more difficult for employees and confusing for customers. Too many palettes of silly product offerings clogging aisles; if you want to discourage volume buyers and Pro Rewards customers pushing large carts, keep it up. I fear HD is on its way to becoming the KMart of home improvement stores. On the positive side, online ordering options have improved and it's easier than ever to return items purchased on a charge card, (if customer service isn't understaffed). Sorry to be harsh and I'll edit my review in response to positive changes but I'm not alone in my disappointment. You're still my go-to for most things because of so many convenient locations.
JW Flooring complaint - Home Depot contractor I had a contract with Home Depot to do a flooring install. This was my second flooring project with them. First project was four rooms, less square footage, and they told me it would take two days, and they did the job well. So I decided to do the rest of the house. This time, they quoted me 3 days but I knew it was more square footage than the last project. JW Flooring subcontracted and then the subcontractor also subcontracted. One nice guy came and did the install but on the third day, he didn’t finish and all along the project, i kept asking if they were going to finish on time. JW flooring promised me it would be done on the fourth day. However, the subcontractor came in the morning and left in the afternoon and project is still not finished. They didn’t even start the quarter round. I talked to the subcontractor, who is a very nice guy, and he told me it was his subcontractor’s fault and that he would be firing the employee. In life, there are circumstances but boy is my house a mess and I have to keep lot of my furniture outside so they can finish the job. Totally inconvenient and they didn’t put the resources in place to get the job as agreed upon. Buyer beware with this company, I hope they can compensate me for the inconvenience of living out of a messy home for many days, due to them not fulfilling their obligation.
Unfortunately didn’t get cashiers name located in the garden center, I asked cashier to ring me up for 4 pallets of cottage stone, she asked if I knew if there was enough in stock and asked if I counted the cottage stone in their inventory… what??? How is it even possible to count 4 pallets worth, especially when stock is kept in a different location? I mention website for the Home Depot in Mira Mesa indicated they had what was needed. I gave her the item number and asked if she could please verify stock on her computer? She replied no, that she couldn’t, and informed that a $20 fee per pallet would be charged for an employee to help load. I asked if she could call a manager or another employee who could assist? She got on her phone to get backup, referred to me as “holding up her line” then hung up only to repeat I needed to count the cottage stone before she could ring me up. This employee was rude, doesn’t know her job or she is just plain lazy. I went to the customer service counter inside for help. Gave cashier the cottage stone item number, she looked it up, rung it up, I paid. I inquired about the $20 per pallet loading fee, she said no charge, it’s a fee service. Home Depot, please stop hiring people just because they can breathe.
Pretty sure employees steal stuff that should be in Lost and Found. An iPhone magnetic wallet fell off my wife’s phone into the children’s cart when we were leaving. We were leaving as the store was closing and saw them pulling the carts to the front of the store as I was driving away. We realized the next morning it was missing and went to Home Depot as they were opening. Wallet wasn’t in the cart but the cart was still at the front of the store (since they were barely opening) exactly where the employee was taking it. We checked the cart thinking it might still be there (pieces of crackers my daughter was eating were in the cart and it was the only one with both seatbelts so we knew it was the same cart) and when it wasn’t, assumed an employee got it. Customer service? Extremely unhelpful and had this stoner “oh I see hehe” attitude when we explained what we were looking for. Someone working there in the morning definitely took it. Why? There were no suspicious charges to the card. If someone stole it from the cart the night before, there would’ve been a charge on it. If their manager looked at security footage I’m sure they’d see their employee took it.
This place was never ment to be the first and last stop for your construction needs. Home Depot carries an assortment of the most widely used materials. The do-it-yourself, customers will find what they require to fix a leak, or install a new sink, pipe a drainage trench, install an electrical socket, or plant a garden. They have the tools for each project without a large tool section. When you shop here, you will be shopping with other people that know as much or as little as you, and they are happy to give you their opinion on how to fix your problems. Their professional department let me down on a roof job costing me $1,400. Because I ordered the material for delivery on another city, they would not refund my money in my home city. I had to drive 200 miles for a refund. When I got there, I was told that it was a special order and I wasn't getting a refund. Be careful ordering tiles or floor material, they got my order wrong and took months for a refund. Their credit card required me to make monthly charges or it canciled, costing me three points on my credit score. I still shop there, but am more careful where I buy large quantities of materials.
The store is great only when things go smoothly. It is horrible when it does not. I happened to have a wrong delivery. The entire process is a nightmare. I had to make numerous calls to the store to schedule pickup and redelivery. Each time, someone answered my call, appearing to be caring and friendly, notes was taken. But, nothing would happen if I don't follow up with calls. And, each time I call, I had to repeat whatever I said earlier. Nobody bothered to read the notes. Even after they read, they just told me that the notes were not clearly written. There was one time, a lady initially told me that she did not see any notes when I purposely ask her to find notes without telling her anything. After I complained, she started to tell me that she saw the notes. Honestly speaking, I have no idea whether there is note in the system at all. I have no idea what is going on in the store. But, definitely, they don't have a good process to handle the unexpected. So, pray before you go.
I had a phone order placed. Material was sold and no one from home depot told me it was sold, nor did they give me a refund. It wasnt until i folllowed up for it they gave me a refund. Checks and balances! Also was offered a $50 discount off of a future purchase. Went to buy laminate material to use coupon. It took the flooring department and customer service 20 minutes to figure out they WEREN'T going to help me to retrieve a pallet of flooring, so I requested my refund again. Will call corporate since management needs to hold employees and their managers accountable for lack of customer service. Employees need to own up to their jobs and help customers. I purchase around 25k annually from Home Depot, and this is not a good way to treat any customer. I operate my own business and know that it isn't home depot, but rather employees not caring. SG
I ordered 3 items online to be picked up from this store. It took weeks for 1st and 2nd items to arrive. I did not want to pick them up without the 3rd item. The 3rd item did not arrive so they had to reorder it. It took 2-3 months for the 3rd one to arrive. As soon as the 3rd one arrived to the store, they cancelled all the 3 orders! Why?! Someone was mad that I did not pick up the 1st two when they had already arrived. I already went to the store and told them that I will pick all at once. I can't rent a truck multiple times! They also called me a day before the cancellation and I clearly told them that I will pick all once the 3rd one arrives. My bathroom remained in demolition store for months and it will continue in this stage for another month. I should have ordered these from Amazon. They would have delivered it for free and much sooner.
I've been coming to this location since it opened. I do lots of projects so I spend a lot of time and money here but the changes they've made recently cause me to reconsider my loyalty to them. Ending the military discount was the first negative thing. Lately all the registers are now self check out style. I highly disagree with this as it means not as many opportunities for employment. And tonight the icing on the cake...the cashier, the one who is supposed to assist at the self checkouts outright refused to help me with my purchase. She wasn't busy at all, the registers were open...she just didn't want to help me. It's bad enough to cut out a position and leave people jobless but that the ones you do keep cop an attitude is just wrong. I'll be driving the 20 minutes up to Lowe's instead of the 5 minutes to Home Depot.
Worse Home Depot I encountered. On 1/27/2023. 7:30 am I tried to waive down an employee near paint depart to help untie an a Ryobi edge trimmer but got ignored. He looked at me for a while and left. I waited 5 minutes expecting he will direct another employee to help. Then I waived at the self check out asked for help again the guy picked the phone and called but after another 5 minutes no one come to help. I left to proceed to self out to check out spray paint but need employee help to clear the paint, talked to a female employee but she rather chit chat with others so I got upset left everything behind and left the store. I think the store manager should improve the service in this store. I hope other Home Depot can do better there are Lowes and Dixieline around.
Home Depot has been more or less the same for the last 20+ years. What's new is this COVID pandemic and Home Depot has done a disappointing job dealing with it. While they appear to have signage requiring and promoting customers to keep social distancing, wear face coverings, and wiping down the self checkout area, the experience was completely backwards. Aisles were uncomfortably filled with people wearing their facemasks partially or around their necks. Because the team members are not holding customers accountable my wife and I had the un-pleasure of being verbally accosted by a person we reminded that wearing the mask around their neck was completely ineffective. I am actively avoiding this place and recommend anyone else with similar values to do the same.
I love the convenience of this store. However, when it comes to customer service, this store is the worst. I had an appliance delivered to my house from the vendor that Home Depot used. It arrived with a broken piece and o was instructed to call the vendor to get a replacement part. I called the Home Depot to get a replacement sales receipt and was either on hold or calling every department of the store for 20 minutes trying to get someone to answer the phone. Not even customer service would pick up. I did eventually get what I needed, but the customer service is trash. Even when I was buying said appliance, I had to search and find an associate to help me. Get it together and this store will be perfect!
Home Depot Mira Mesa. Great shopping experience. Good, friendly help from a couple of employees who told me the store does not sell orchid pots, and Neem Oil is on isle 4. Only bummer was a older Caucasian female employee at the door by checkout. She was rude! Totally uncalled for. Manager did a pretty good job of listening to my concern. Asked a couple or relevant questions. Found out the same employee was also rude to another customer before me. I hope management helps that employee get her stuff together. They should put her somewhere where she doesn't have to interact with customers until she can make significant positive improvements to her attitude and customer service skills.
I'm not the type or person who writes reviews but I just have to write one for this Homedepot .WHY are the cashiers always judging, Discriminating even being Racist !!!! All the time the only reason I come to this store is because is the closest to my house .So they have no Registers OPEN they have self check out ,for some reason the cashiers always want to scan my items which I don't mind but I noticed they don't do it to other customers and I want to know WHY ?That's beyond RUDE AND DISRESPECTFUL!!! The crazy thing is that when I need help whith something there's no one to help .Can the store manager fo some training on how workers need to be more respectful
HIRE SOME HELP!!! I have been in a lot of home depots, we seem to spend 1/2 our life in home depot, but I recommend going to any one of them except the one on mira mesa blvd!! I have been here for 45 minutes begging someone to help me with one question... forget it... I've asked 4 associates so far and still no one can help me. All I need is the dang nails for this nail gun.... where the crap are they, I have searched every shelf and asked 4 people. Nevermind I am going up to the next one. I give up. By the way there is a lady on isle 14 asking everyone to help her pick up a heavy thing she wants to buy. She said she has been trying to get help for an hour.
Usually friendly helpful service. No today! The expert in plumbing had a walking boot on. I upset this person by asking for an item that was on a second row. Okay, it could have been close to the end of the day. Having a walking boot is a bother. Checkout personal asked me to go find the price and item number. There were three staff standing at the checkout. One staff member took my cashier from my transaction to buy a snack. My cashier never said anything. Okay, usually a “your total today is”. I paid for my items and walked past the cashier and got no response. As I left, I did get a have a good day from the previously mentioned third cashier.
A little crowded on a Saturday still under phase 2 of Covid 19. Customer Service area help was slow. A couple of registers did not have customers and the HD employee just looked at us, kept chatting with another HD employee and did not ask to assist us. When they finally called us, they were trying to dissuade us by having us look up the item ourselves when we get home and made it sound like we're giving them a hard time because they had to look up the item by receipt. This might be an isolated incident but not good customer service if you ask me. That's just being honest... and I love going to HD.
I found that the difference between Home Depot and Loews is that H.D.has all kinds of employees running around doing whatever so it's easy to find people to ask questions, but nobody seems to know anything or where anything is. Loews on the other hand, you can't seem to find anyone but when you do they know exactly what you're talking about and exactly what you need and exactly where it is! Plus, H.D. seems to have part of what you need in house and the other part online, i.e. - just about everything for putting up a chain link fence in store, but the come-a-long is online? Who does that?
Great service from most everyone that works there. Lumber department has always helped me when I needed it. Sometimes they don't know what I am asking for and have to call another person from that department to help but i understand that as there are many items that i would not know the names of or what there for ether. Also there could be many names for the same item depending on the part of the country you come from. Hard to know all names for all items. Any way, I think they all try hard to give good service and I thank them for the help when I need it. Thank you, TM
Called multiple times inside the store for help to be transferred to lighting where I watched Kevin the morning lighting associate just hang up the call while hanging out with other employees, another employee asked if I needed help and she directed me to Kevin who said I already clocked out Im gone. You will have to wait for the next guy, what kind of service is that? Luckily Isabelle from lawn and garden did what she could to help me in the lighting department and was able to find what I was looking for in 2 minutes. Take a bit of Kevin's pay and give it to her.
The last time I stop by Home depot and i was returned a gorilla wood glue and the return apartment and she tell me? Im going to purchase this merchandise , and i really get so annoying whit this person tell me in the return apartment, are you going to purchase this merchandise? What is this ? This is discrimination because im spanish, im very honest person and I don't need this Cain the people discriminating me because my raise, and this is not the first time I have this problem with HOME DEPOT there not having respeto for his costume
This place is always a headache. Ordered some mirrors online to be delivered to the store. Order never updated. I called the store and they told me to call another store and sort it myself. Really? Bought some tile from them. I tried to go back and get some more to finish another room. They stopped selling the tile. We spoke with a person there that told us to return the tile. We bring the tile in. Guess what? They won’t accept and offer one penny a box. Seriously? If you want to be treated badly, then this is the best place to go.
The staff at Home Depot are always helpful and knowledgeable. I can always count on them to help me find exactly what I need, even if I'm not able to describe the item exactly. Today I was looking for a product to help solve a flea problem at a friend's business. The Home Drpot staff member led me to where that type of product was located and helped me determine which specific product was best for my situation. High marks to Home Depot for encouraging customer care and to the staff member for her valuable assistance.
I have been to this location multiple times in the last two weeks looking at tile and shower doors. On each occasion I was completely ignored by store staff. I complained once to management and was offered a pathetic apology, Today I complain to the cashier who simply said, "yeah I hear that a lot". So, I went to a competitor and purchased the tile from them spending $650.00. I will be ordering the shower doors from a competitor also. My suggestion, shop elsewhere, You will not get any help at this location.
If I could give John Weedman more stars for his excellent service I would. I came in to get help replacing a screen door handle. I was able to find the correct replacement. Fortunately, I had the screen with me and asked about installation. John took on this seemingly impossible task. With so many little plastic parts that had to line and spring load before installation he mastered the task! I appreciate his time and patience going above the call of duty to install the handle. Kudos to John! Thank you!
Ive been to this Homedepot on 3 separate occasions, all of which were for store pick-ups. First time was Black Friday, althoigh the store was busy I believe I waited 1 min in line and my order was behind the customer service/pick-up desk as you walk in the store. The employees were all very courteous and it took less than 5min. On Black Friday, pretty impressive. The store has a good selection, helpful staff and decent prices. I'll be going here for a while. Thank you Home Depot.
Do not buy appliances here. They will not back the quality of the product they are selling. If you purchase a lemon appliance, they will not try to make it right. Instead they point you to a third party, which of course prevents you from getting a refund since you didn't purchase the appliance from them. There's no accountability. Everyone just keeps pointing fingers at one another making it a miserable experience for the customer. I've heard Costco knows how to treat customers.
This is a great location if you carpool from north county to anywhere down south or vice versa because of the convenience of the express lanes exit. Some of the cashiers aren’t all that friendly. I’d say avoid Michelle on most days as she’s definitely hit or miss with her demeanor. She usually is working the registers for the pro checkout. Other than that the store is great compared to other HDs. The clearance racks are usually junk. Just check out the pictures I added here.
Horrible over the phone service. Just wanted to check if they had a product in stock. I was placed on hold, and the call "Dropped." I called back and he knew it was me, placed me on hold again, for 30 minutes. I called back and he said he was still looking, yet he answered the phone right away. Drove to the store while still on hold and visually saw him hang up on me when I hung up and called again. The cable I was looking for was literally 20 feet away from him.
This store is by far the best I've experienced. I frequent home depot near my home, but decided to stop in at this location on my way back from a weekend trip to El Cajon. The staff is AMAZING AND HELPFUL, FUNNY AND BRIGHT. Ihope they all get recognized. My visit was on June 21st, 2023 at 4pm. Thank you for putting light and happiness in to your customer service home depot store #6679! Clean store, also, which is a huge plus for a DIY CONSTRUCTION STORE.
Vee in the paint department is a definite gem . This place doesn’t deserve her at all. She saved one of my worst customer experiences that day. She was one employee who’s determination to help over shined my frustrations with a cashier “jayshree”. I won’t even start on that person. This is a good post about a great employee, I just want management to know that “Vee” is a great employee to have on their team and I hope she gets her flowers one day.
So I went there today to look at shower tiles. While doing so, I climbed a set of mobile stairs to take a photo of the tile and it's label. An associate, Albert, came by and asked that I not climb the stairs and indicated that the stairs were only for associates. He then walked away. He did not ask if I needed assistance, if he could help me or anything else productive. I informed management of my experience and then took my business to a competitor.
I ordered 10 cases of tile for curbside pickup. The home depot worker comes out with 10 piece's of tile and assumed that those 10 pieces were worth over 300$. Then I get called to come inside, which I didn't want to do hence I chose the curbside option. Just so they can clarify what the receipt already said 10 CASES. Now they finally provide the cases and none of the employees offers to help load it. Horrible Customer service and curbside operations.
Garden cashier approached me yesterday when I was at the self check our stand. She asked if she could help. I said now as it is amazingly simple to scan plants. She then proceeded to tell me I hadn’t scanned one of the plants. I told her it was the first one I scanned and she was welcome to view my receipt. I to,d her she should be very sure when she accuses people of theft. I was SO angry at her attitude and audacity! Hire more helpful people.
I have been to this store a few times over the past few years, and every time is more pleasant than the previous one. Now at the self checkout kiosks, you can HAVE FUN AND USE A SCANNER GUN! The staff was extremely helpful, from assisting me with getting keys copied that I needed for roommates to pointing out all the best snacks as I was there just before going to a movie, I will be going out of my way to shop here now. 10/10 would recommend!
It's home depot. A well run one. Nuff said. Except one beef dudes... what's up with the new self checkout? Horrible. Every single item I've bought since installing these has required staff checking/overrides. Every ITEM! Very slow. Very frustrating. There is usually more than 1 staff person per self checkout station, likely because of the constant overrides. I can't imagine you're saving money on labor or checkout hardware. Epic fail so far.
Decent smaller than average Home Depot. Only once out of the nearly 20 times that I've gone here have I interacted with an employee with a bad attitude. Most are very helpful. The store seems to be constantly reconfiguring the customer service desk to be more efficient. They seem to be a bit understaffed during certain high capacity hours like weekends and early evenings. Compared against other HDs in San Diego, this is probably the best.
My family is moving soon so we've been purchasing a lot of storage bins here at Home Depot. On one of the bins my Husband grabbed the wrong size top so we had to stop back and grab the correct size. Not even a minute went by and Melvin came over and assisted us until we found the matching top! Such wonderful, friendly service and he didn't even ask if we needed help he just jumped right in and saved us a lot of time! Thank you Melvin!!
This is a great Home Depot location! They always seem to be very well stocked and I've been able to find everything that I was looking for. The staff is always been exceedingly helpful in ways that I would not normally expect! When I rented a Penske truck from this location, they were able to help me find discounts that I was not previously aware of and saved me over $175 on what ended up being a $600 truck rental. I am very impressed!
Staff is friendly. They have a good selection. Prices are...OK. It is hard to find things if you have never been here before. This is my local store so I've gotten pretty used to the layout. I recommend using the mobile app to quickly locate what you are looking for. They also have generous hours. There have been a few times where I need that 'one-last-thing' late in the evening for a project and I find that they are still open.
As far as big box retailers go Home Depot has their stuff together. This store is no exception. If you have shopped Home Depot before then you will have no surprises here. Good selections friendly and helpful people and normally very knowledgeable in their area or can find someone quickly who is. If you know what you want and don’t want to wait, then order online and pick up in the store the same day, normally. Very cool.
Well managed with great staff. I wrote that last year. Since then, the quality of service has been terrible. Staff hang up on calls. I placed an order that was canceled without telling me. When I called to ask for status, I was in hold 15' and then got transferred to wait another 15', to be told the order was canceled. Then another wait and the said the part was in stock. No wonder Amazon is eating their lunch.
Hard to find people that can help in the store. Now Donna Hotchkiss completely refused to help with a return for which I had receipt. She just shrugged her shoulders and said there is nothing she can do. She is so so uninformed she didn't know the The Return Equation isn't open 24 hours a day and she kept insisting that it is and I should call them right away. Don't buy anything from this horrible Home Depot.
Echoing a few others here: this is the best location for Home Depot in north county and the city. Good flow of traffic, well planned traffic, and a well stocked store make this worth the extra drive. Often times this store has stock when the stores in the rest of the county are out. Make sure to check for items online before coming. Staff is friendly, but it may take some effort to find someone to help you.
I just wanted to give a shoutout to Susan Hailey, Project Specialist in Kitchen & Bath. I came in a few weeks ago to look for a new gas stove and the service I received from her was exceptional. She is very knowledgable, personable and kind. She took the time to help me answer all my questions and guide me through the process. It was a very pleasant experience, which is rare these days. Thank you Susan!
Great service tonight and very friendly staff. In might be because I went later in the evening instead of high traffic hours. I was a little surprised... I was looking for herbs for my garden, but there were absolutely none available in the garden department. I think that's a first for me, and was the main purpose for my visit..also, no one in garden to ask. So I only rated my visit with 4-stars.
This store has the worst inventory organization! The website and the in-store invengory guns say that they have something in stock (often dozens), but then they cannot find it! This has happened now with three different items on over 6 occasions now over the last month. Get it together Home Depot! We hate having to go to a farther away Home Depot to find something you’ve lost and cannot reorder!
Asked three different assistants for foam tape, got three different answers. But I got the tape! On the other hand, I often get good, useful answers from the orange apron folks. Best recommendation: use the Home Depot app to search for your item first. If you select the store you're in, it will tell you the aisle and bin to look at. And the inventory status (in-stock or not) is often accurate!
It is a very good store for home related supplies but they don't have supplies for commercial bathrooms and kitchens. I was looking for soap dispenser for bathrooms in our church I couldn't find it there. I also wanted a toilet paper holder for the same bathrooms but they don't carry commercial stuff. I didn't know that before but I know that now. I have to find a place for all these supplies.
EVERY time I come here, the staff are screaming at customers in the front of the store, to stand in one line. Even when I’m standing in the line, they’re still screaming at me? It’s not the customer’s fault that the store’s line system is inadequate. This causes me too much anxiety to return. Not to mention there’s never any staff around to help you and the ones that are, are condescending.
I want to thank Gilberto, Lou and Clay for helping me out quickly and efficiently. I was looking for a wooden dolley, Gilberto directed me to the right place but the rack was empty. I asked Lou if there was any more, he searched for me and found there was more. He did not hesitate and ask a forklift driver to get unload a pallet for me which Clay did right away. Awesome customer service.
I've never waited 10 minutes in line, and Home depot does a good job of staffing registers and providing self check out. It's not always possible to staff perfectly for periodic rushes, but they do well. On the other hand, it's always helpful to have someone who knows the products nearby so you don't need to hunt someone down....just to find out they are the wrong person.
If I could give five negative stars I certainly would. Worst Home depot I ever been to. If you don't want to interact with any of the employees and know exactly what you need to buy then feel free to come to this location. If you need to interact with the employees in any way, avoid. These employees are always doing their own thing not paying attention to the customers.
Love the kind people who walk the aisles and seem to want to be of assistance. 80% of those at this location fit the bill. Some always redirect to the website, regardless of product, which is a bummer and big time-waste. However, the majority are true pros and are so comfortable/seem happy in their role here. It really makes a difference! Thank you to this Home Depot.
Called in to find a sink cause my store was out. Couldn't reach the plumbing department (no one answered, was on hold), asked if I could then talk to another department. Charlie from hardware took the time to find the item for me and was very helpful to the other customers while looking for my item. Super nice guy and made customers a priority. Great employee.
Came in to get a set of keys. Found someone to help me out with extreme ease. Keys were well done and work perfectly when I reached home. Stop bybthe paint section to look up some paint suggestions. The young man there was well inform and gave me some great suggestions for my home project. And also gave me ideas for other home projects. Service here was good.
Exceptional service from start to finish, these guys really care about their customers and go the extra mile to show it. Sadly I forgot the gents name who helped me pick out my plywood, but both Brennan and Dexter really raised the bar helping me get squared away in a timely and efficient manner. Don't hesitate to go here with all your home improvement needs!
Home Depot has a terrible problem with their delivery service, Tempco. In fact, I told them today I will never buy anything from them again that has to be delivered. They delivered a Dishwasher for me today and would not install it. They showed me a photo of the angle stop and said it was old and corroded. It was all just replaced brand new about 3 weeks ago.
I came to this Home Depot today and I needed a 15/20 amp breaker, There was an old man named Warran, I told him to please open the shelves so I could get the breaker but he yelled and very rudely said Wait. He was not a good man, he did not respect the costumers at all and he did not listen to costumer and answer their questions. He was not helpful at all.
Worse delivery experience ever!!! The driver called around 5pm and lied that was a dent on my appliance so he could go home. I should have received my dishwasher 10 days ago and still don't have it. When I call, the attendant is unable to provide answers and hangs up on me. I won't buy form Home Depot anymore if they continue to work with Temco Logistics!
This home depot is fine for small stuff you need to buy, but DO NOT go here for carpet or bigger items. We went into the design center to pick out carpet and were specifically told we qualified for the free install promo. Then, when we went back to pay, we were told the carpet didn't qualify because it was in stock. So, we were tricked into the purchase.
I've been coming to this Home Depot for a long time. The staff here is very friendly and helpful. I can usually find what I need on my own, but when I can't there is always someone right there to help. It's super irritating to not be able to find what you are looking for and then not be able to find an employee to help! Haven't had that problem here.
You can never find the personnel there to help you in the plumbing aisle and when you go to the customer service. Half of the people there don't even know what you're talkin about when you're asking them about a shower head that needs to be replaced at this point you're better off going to the Home Depot in Clairemont the Mira Mesa stores sucks
I ordered 3 items for curbside pickup. While trying to place the order the system crashed 3 times. I received a email. They had sent the order to Poway for home delivery...2 week wait . Phoned Poway to cancel order they would not be able to do that. Why?They stated it was being packed for delivery..... I called 1 hour after this started.
Wide variety of stuff to build things 4/5 because Lowes pretty good too, and dixieline has some good stuff too so there's room for improvement if jm still needing 2 other stores but I buy like an armful of random, stuff here every week or two. Never leave without spending $100 so I try not to grab, a basket or I'd blow my paycheck easy.
I went to Mira Mesa location and it was not a friendly Welcome in the flooring location from some female but I heard how a guy was so friendly with the people next to my husband and I quickly disregarded the rule last female and turn to help from him. His name was Mark and he was such a delight! We got everything done in a caring way.
The return policy for this company that i found at this store is bad enough to make me not shop with this company again. Forcing the store credit for a return to only be redeemed by the person who was in store for the return is absurd and greedy. This policy forces families to make multiple trips if the correct person isnt in store.
We frequent this store but after several bad experiences we will make the drive to Carmel mtn or Poway. Their inventory is never accurate, folks don't want to help load, employees never know what we ask, and we've been ignored by employees. Assuming a leadership issue as we've had such great experiences at other local HD stores.
I did curbside pickup for an online order. I unwittingly cut short the time I had before curbside pickup was closed for the day. After the cutoff time came and went, Home Depot still came through and an associate brought the order to my vehicle. Not surprised... so pleasantly impressed with the level of customer service.
It's Home Depot. It has everything you need for your home improvement. Sometimes a bit difficult to find assistance, but when you do, the staff is always very helpful and friendly. It is pretty much all self check out now (except for the last 2 lanes), but there are always 2 staffers at the registers if help is needed...
Great place to get supplies to complete home projects. At times they are out-of-stock on items and it takes weeks for the items to come in. The staff are helful and knowledgeable. The customer service has improved over the past five years. More staff are available to answer your questions which I really appreciate.
They all have the same thing they all have the same equipment all the same items everything and then competent people who don't know what the hell you're talking about or what you're looking for when you ask what if you show them the item you're looking for I got to go try find someplace else now like maybe Lowe's
Inquired about getting a brad gun as they were locked up. The closest associate was unable to help because they did not have the lock code. So the associate went to go ask someone else and mention someone would be with me shortly. No one ever showed up. Looks like I'll just pick it up at Amazon.
Not my regular HD and was nearby so I stopped to get tape. Well stocked but was surprised to see the cutback on cashiered check outs and the doubling of self checkout. The customer flow was not well thought out. Confusing to know where the self check starts and which of the 8 stations is open.
I was so, so, so excited. I have a paint color I have been trying to match for over a year. I've been to several HD, and Lowes. None had it. I only had the cap to match it to. When we went in to this home depot, I bout fell over when I saw the exact color. Wahoooo! Thank you so much!
Like this store for home projects. A bit smaller than Black Mountain one, but close to home. Good variety of tools, products. Most sales associates friendly, knowledgeable to assist. Regular flyers in mail for sales received by me. It's a toy store for adults. At 60 I'm still a kid!
I have recently taken up woodworking as a hobby. This is largely due to Sheldon in the tools department. He has been very helpful every time I visited. I keep coming back to this store because I feel I can trust his advice and he takes the time to answer the many questions I have.
Home Depot has really improved their in-store customer service. It didn't take too long to find an associate and he was very helpful in his suggestion to solve my problem. I also highly recommend the Home Depot app,. If you know what you want, it'll tell you exactly where it is.
40 minutes to get a return, and then having to go look for a different item. Mind you, 97 degrees, no AC, long line, 3 cashier's open, advocate for the disabled, not disabied and temp disabled, please add sitting area and fans for all that have to go through this torturous line.
The place is ok. Not a fan of the almost all self check outs!! There was one check out with a person working. The customer service sucks because of a lack of people!!! Nice to see the Halloween items up. Again a big push to self check. No associate no customer service.
The new order online and pickup in store feature is a huge time saver. No more wondering the isles for an hour just to find what I need. Bigger and better self checkout lanes as well. 4 stars because this store is often out of stock on items that I need right away.
Went in looking for a tool that I was only gonna use once and was instead helped by a man who allowed us to use some tools for free to get a stuck screw so we didn't even have to pay for the tool. He was very helpful and helped us unscrew the screw.
Very nice and helpful staff! They're not in-your-face all the time asking if you need help, but if you need help, they're more than happy to assist. They have a great selection of everything and I always go here for my home improvement needs.
I came in needing help to find screws for my license plates that fell off partially and I went to the faucet aisle where Mr. Curt was doing inventory, and without any hesitation, let me to the aisle for the screws and really relieved me of
Did curbside pickup and it worked like a charm. Pulled in and parcked, pressed the orange button in their message and entered the space number I parked in, and in 4-5 minutes a [masked] worker was there with my order. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
This store (Mira Mesa) has the most out of stocks and bad merchandising in the tool corral. As a tool industry veteran of 25 years (including 1 miserable year at Home Depot), this tool corral looks like they are going out of business.
This review is not about the store, it is about their delivery/install department. I purchased a dishwasher on 5/5/13 and paid for Home Depot to deliver, install, and haul-away the old unit. The truck arrived as promised but then the
Tony in paint departments is great at Mira mesa location. But self service only credit card readers have a problem with them. The employee at self service machines are no help, they stand around and get a pay check for doing nothing.
Looking for lighting fixtures. LED is now about your only choice these days. Limited selection in store, but I did find a fixture, 4 lamp LED 120volt plug-in with motion detector. In the price range $70-80. Going to try the out
I love elecktronicks sometimes I think of Electric City going out Power. I look for the 40 V battery power converter excellent power source. I Ragga men. home depot because they seem to have everything your home needs.
Great Home Depot! Well-stocked and organized. Super friendly and helpful workers. Excellent Garden Center too. They take great care of their plants here! I live in the city and will always travel out to this location.
