Great accommodation and location however its advertised as:  We are pet-friendly here at The Little House on the Hill. The owners make no mention they have 2 dogs on site that are not secure. On our arrival the owner Owen made enquires about our dog and we confirmed he was not good around high energy dogs, so he advised he would keep his indoors while we were on site. We advised Owen of our plans and the times we would be out the following day and that we were staying on site for that evening. Surprisingly around 7.30 pm both of his dogs ( plus his daughters  2 dogs he was minding) appeared from nowhere and not only startled us but one named Murphy attacked our staffy. Owen heard the commotion and came and apologized and assured us his dogs would be kept secure. We put this down to poor judgement on the owners behalf and reconfirmed what times we would be out the following day when he apologizes. The following evening we kept our dog in doors as a precaution but let him out for toileting. While he was out you can imagine both our surprise and disappointment that "Murphy" appears again and again attacks our staffy. My husband had to seperate the dogs as Murphy was not letting go and both my husband and dog received scratches. We decided to leave at dawn the following morning and sent the owners an email confirming our disappointment and that the dogs on site should be secure so no other dog owner experiences what we did Below is the response from them: Hi Jodie Thank you for the email We are very sorry about the interaction with Murphy Will take your feedback onboard & again apologise Regards Owen & Barb Smith They should be clear that they have dogs on site and are not secure because if they had we would have booked elsewhere. Hopefully they do something about securing them ASAP. Jodie

Wow! What a little hidden gem. Small cottage literally on a hill to take in all the views. The gardens surrounding the cottage are breath taking. So much care and time has goes into maintaining the landscape. Even though the owners live on the property you would never know as the trees and gardens wrap this cottage in a tranquil seclusion. We took our 16 month old son and border collie with us. Both had the best time running and exploring the gardens. The owners Owen and Barb are the most gorgeous people. We could have stayed to chat with them for hours. Not to mention their gorgeous dogs, Murphy (border collie) and Candy or Sandy. We introduced our dog to theirs. It was nice to see them run and play. I was disappointed they were not there to mingle with our dog for the weekend as they are beautiful dogs. However, I appreciate that they have to do their due diligence to keep their pooches in their own area away from guests. We will definitely consider booking this quaint cottage again. What a gorgeous little place to stay we loved that we could bring our little miniature Schnauzer along with us and he was warmly welcomed by Owen. The tiny house was beautifully presented - spotlessly cleaned and smelled beautiful, there were also fresh roses in a vase that were gorgeous- Owen was very delightful - helpful but not intrusive which was lovely. The only down side to this little gem was not knowing that the road was unsealed - we were towing a car on a car trailer which made it a bit sketchy- but that was the only downside - if you ever look for somewhere to stay in Badgers Creek- look no further than this perfectly quaint little house on the hill

Stunning little house. Great for weekend getaways ... Clean and very neat. Just no oven or stove which made it difficult to prepare meals but has a lovely little BBQ. Stunning place
