Stayed at the white house which is on the same property as this a few weeks ago and was absolutely blown away by every aspect.. The house itself was gorgeous, full of amazing artworks. Very well kept and spacious. The owners were extremely friendly and unintrusive. They're extremely generous and provide you with practically everything you need in regards to amenities. There was more than enough to make yourself a nice breakfast or lunch for a few days. We're extremely grateful for this. Nothing beats waking up to the sound of the wildlife, and then seeing kangaroos hopping through your yard. On our last day, they stopped to say hello and allowed us to get fairly close although that's probably not advisable as they're not pets and would probably kick you in the nether region. And then there's the mount range which is so close you can walk there fairly easily I was told. Would love to do that next time. But watching the clouds roll over them first thing in the morning, it's just so beautiful. It was a little hard to find, but if you just drive up the road provided in the directions when you book - you'll see a sign on the right (assuming you're coming from Healesville direction) and there's a dirt road you drive up and you'll see the owners house first. I'd imagine they'd greet you as they did with us, and point you in the right direction. I really hope to see you all again soon!

There are two homes available to choose from the original homestead with all its charm and character of a period long gone or a much newer home with all the features of modern living. For those who like the experience of walking the property offers open paddocks or typical Australian bush with Kangaroos Cockatoos Rosellas and other local and domestic wildlife. The fridge and pantry are better stocked up for breakfast than what you have at home wether it's a cooked or a light serial breakfast, the owners have thought of everything from tooth picks to 5 types of cereal and many other breakfast delights. Beds were very comfortable, bathroom well equipped, kitchen had everything we needed to cook a roast and bake a pudding and the home is kept warm with two heaters. Mobile phone worked well but internet access was hit and miss. This certainly is a quiet, clean well equipped and relaxing place to stay if you like to experience rural area and only 15 minutes on a asphalt road to Healsville.

Our family had the most wonderful week at the White Rose Cottage. The Cottage was very comfortable and had so much charm and character, beautifully decorated. The Cottage has the most beautiful gardens surrounding. The Birds were glorious too & special aussie wildlife. Our 3 yo & 17month old Daughters had the most memorable time feeding the farm animals which included goats and miniature donkeys. Truly a very special hidden gem in the mountains. Hosts were very welcoming, friendly and accommodating too. Highly recommend this very special place for a peaceful getaway.
