We came here for a birthday dinner. The place pretty was busy but the server was not very good busy or not. The server was super slow and inattentive... Honestly, she seemed high. Our friends had arrived before us but I still needed to wait like 30 minutes before she even came to take a drink order. There were many times I felt rushed to place an order for drinks because I knew she wouldn't be back for quite some time. I'm pretty sure she forgot to put one of our orders in at some point because other people in our party that ordered drinks after us received them before us. Additionally, the bills were completely incorrect when we asked for them and it was clear why the service was lacking because there was gratuity included for our large party of 8... but she was quick to come back for payment. It was the quickest she was to return all evening. I've been in the service industry before and large party gratuity doesn't excuse this lack of service. The food was okay... Not that exciting. Most of their signature drinks taste like cough medicine. I probably won't be coming back unless a friend asks me to.

Edit***Second time here last night. Had great bar service, fantastic band (Second Opinion), and wings were good and hot, varied crowd, no issues. ****I didn't see a 5% charge for paying with a card nor did I think drinks were priced crazy. An old fashioned was 12 to $15 depending on the bourbon I picked, including Bulliet, which is pretty standard especially at a location that has a band. Another person had said that theirs was $20 so I'm not sure what mistake was made on her bill but the menu prices matched our bill. This was our first time here and it was a dichotomy of experiences. When you come in there are bouncers who check your ID, which is good so people don't get stupid, but it's a kind of weird experience when you're going to a restaurant. They had a great band which we would have realized we could see better from the restaurant side than from the bar side before we sat down. There was a little bit too much light for the atmosphere near the bar. Over near the band they were piping in fog. So it's basically part restaurant part nightclub part bar. The band was good, I probably would not eat here again. We had two items the bruschetta which was good and then meatballs which had a good flavor but they weren't hot enough, so that prevented us from ordering more food. There is a broad and range here, from college kids to baby boomers.

I was pretty excited to go here because its close by and open late. The drinks were top notch, really well made and tasted great. The food was a bit rough, waitress told us burgers were done, and were just waiting on fries. By the time we got it, the grease from the burger soaked into the bun and it was hard to eat. Mayonaise was also on the bottom of the bun, so that combined with the grease and time made it not the best burger. But I'll probably end up back there and try something else, but I was really hopeful on having a good burger. If I had to give some advice, get thick/good bread when making a heavy burger like that, and put mayonaise on top so the bread doesn't fall apart. A kaiser roll would be good. The person I was with thought they might have been frozen burgers, I'm not sure, but making a good fresh burger, and better fries (I'm just not a fan of crinkle cut fries) would take this place from a spot for drinks, to a top notch place to spent a whole evening. As of now, if I was hungry late, I'd probably head over to kickbacks or go downtown for food, but I'd much rather go here. Service was good though

We went there for the first time on Monday. This used to be Cheers and you can hardly tell now. Nice place, well decorated, big stage, and nightly events. The food was fine and they had most bourbons on the menu available. The major turn off for me was something I have never seen before we charged an almost 5% fee for using a card instead of cash. This is extremely grimy considering there's absolutely no signage posted or on the menu, nor did any of the staff happen to mention it. When I questioned the staff about this charge and why it was added all I got was ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I understand charging two different prices based on payment method like this at some far flung gas station out in the country but not from an "upscale" Resturant/Bar. The worst part is I doubt many people notice it, this is completely usury and violates card processing rules, fees imposed cannot exceed 4% and there must be signage and notices posted. Fair warning for those of you smart enough to check here first, Since clearly the owners and staff didn't want to warn you themselves.

Not sure if it was a special event but they checked my ID at the door. This was my first time here. The service was really good, staff is all pretty friendly, I can imagine it gets so busy that it makes it difficult to maneuver around guest. However, That didn't seem to break their spirits. The food was great, Drinks were also good and the prices are affordable. They offer Mixed Cocktails and they even have Craft Beer available that rotates. Live music and Dancing, Open late. They had a live band at one point then later on in the night they had a DJ. Great time and took a chance just wandering in, Glad we did. Cant wait to go back.

We visited on a Fri night for 'dinner', drinks & live music. The first table we sat at was so wobbly you couldn't put anything on it, especially drinks. We were moved to another table and it was tiny, there were 4 of us, but this table was really meant for 2. The drinks were ok, but you don't make a 'signature' old-fashion with Makers Mark, you use real bourbons like Bullit, Woodford, or Basil Hayden's. The menu was minimal. Basically burgers, sandwiches, and appetizers. They were pretty expensive and decent, but not amazing. The music setup lasted for over 90 mins and the music started pretty late (around 9:30ish). Once it did, it was LOUD!! So loud we packed up after 2 songs and left. Not planning on going back, not much to see here.

We did not eat we only had drinks and we went on a Friday night when the band Smoke Stack was playing and they are very very good however the band was so loud you literally could not even talk to the person sitting right next to you and I had to put part of a paper napkin in my ears. If the band had not been so loud it would have been one of the most enjoyable times we've ever had! To the band tone it down. And because they are so busy they do not have a ton of waiters so you are kind of trying to find your waiter when you need them. After the band took a break and they played other music the dance floor stayed packed and everyone had a fantastic time what a place to go!! Will definitely return again!

Went for my 40th reunion(GO PACK) and it was fantastic. They did a great job getting rid of any semblance of Cheers. No smoking inside. The staff was attentive and some were even entertaining.... The only problem was, when I went to pay my TAB, she said there was nothing to pay. I double-checked, showing her my card, and she said nope. Assuming someone paid my tab, I left. Checked the account the next morning to see all the stuff I purchased was charged to me, but on 3 separate transactions. I went to the bar 3 times. There is nothing wrong with this, but I expected to tip on my tab and there wasn't one. I feel terrible that no tip was left, from me, they worked hard. I'll be back and make it up.... Great times were had by all.....

Great venue, awesome drinks and fantastic band. Stopped by last Friday evening with a couple of friends visiting from out of town. This was all of our first time here. We didn’t have any food, as we had just had dinner earlier. However, the old fashioned we had were easily the best I’ve had in my 8 months living in the area, and I’ve had quite a few at multiple venues. The venue is quite nice, and the band playing that night was fantastic. I believe they were called The Last Stand; or something like that. They played a wide variety of songs, and sounded great. I highly recommend this place for a fun evening of good cocktails and great entertainment. I’ll have to go back earlier and try their food as well.

It is a very nicely designed bar. We love the esthetics, and the drinks are always delicious. The bartenders are very attentive even though they get very crowded due to their popularity. The parking lot gets crowded as well, so expect to wait for a spot. Every time we go, they have a live band, which we enjoy and usually a DJ too. We love the MUSE drink, which is their signature old fashion. They have a lot of different drinks but their specialty is bourbon. Their prices seem fair, but they are not cheap. But it is understandable given the quality of their cocktails/alcohol.

There was hardly anyone in there & it took 30 minutes for a drink. Then the waitress sits the drink on the table , I was standing on front of the table , I never knew the drink was there. I asked her again where my drink was. She picked it up & gave it to me. I asked how long was it there. She said idk. She said I can get you another one. I said no that's fine. I don't want to wait another 30 minutes for a drink. Poor service. Then my group got up & we left. The waitress gave my friends drink to someone else & she asked where her drink was & waitress went & got it from another seat down the way. My friend told her that's not what she even ordered. We will not be back.

I'd probably give this 5 stars as a bar and 3 stars as a restaurant, having enjoyed a great Saturday evening there, but dissappointed with table service. We finished off the evening at the pool tables / bar and appreciated the friendly patrons making for a variety of playing levels. There was a live band playing who were surprisingly (amazingly) good at playing some contemporary rock covers. This could have been too loud had we stayed at a table, but fine from the pool table area.

Use to frequent Cheers when the place had a soul. My 3rd and last time coming here. On my last visit i came in about 5-530pm and there might have been 7 people drinking in the bar. I noticed the bar was filthy, glasses everywhere and in the corner of the bar were a group of employees on cell phones. The bartender Jordan was clearly overwhelmed by the 7 people at the bar because she could not clean up, was rude and sorta smart ***. Last time for me, they seriously need a bar manager that is around and makes these people work. I can only imagine how the owner feels while he goes over the books. Kids running a bar, with attitudes just do not work for anyone.

I was really excited to go to check out the place cause I enjoy bourbon. VERY disappointed. I don't mind spending money on my drinks however I didn't know it was al acart. I had an old fashioned which I love .. was charged $14 for bullet and another $3 for the old fashion. I didn't realize it was separate. The prices are $12- $14 so I wasn't expecting a $5 drink, but I'll think I'll pass. Was planning to go there for date night, but I'm not going to have my date spend $40 per drink since he enjoys old fashiones too.. Yes, I did tip so for one drink a little over $20.. That's a bit much when I can get the same drink at Ale house for $9..

Absolutely outstanding. First time in the new face lift of a venue.. food is good, wait staff is on time, Entertainment is Amazing, please don't ruin this venue by becoming a cheap penny pincher.. The down fall to most new venues that were previously established is that they leave the gate with the intention of taking over the world and shortly after the hype is gone the owner's cut staff, bar tenders, security.. then it ultimately becomes what they are used to doing to their other establishments.. you guys are on the right track.. let's hope you remain in that mind set, and we will be there to support you every week.

This place is great! I've only gotten wings, but they're meaty and juicy. Service is amazing, I've always felt welcome and they're very attentive. I usually meet good company when I'm here too, I've had great conversations at the bar. They've got a couple of pool tables which are usually pretty easy to get one, and they have events like karaoke or live music on special nights. They also really know their stuff with alcohol, you have options for a nice drink. Not really too much of a younger crowd going here, but this place is good if you're just trying to chill.

Tried 3 times. First time the drinks were great. 2nd time drinks were just okay, was also over charged for a few drinks. Last night every drink ordered came out wrong. After the 3rd wrong drink in a row I ask what it was I was drinking and the waitress told me something I didn’t even order and swears that is what I ordered. Zero consistency on drinks, really depends who is working and who makes your drink. Old Fashioned didn’t even have orange peel or cherry, just ice. Everyone in our group switched to draft beer after this. I hope they can improve, there is potential.I will say the decor is very nice.

Fun place to visit but bartender gave Lemon instead of lime, how difficult is that with Jack & Coke? atmosphere is always fun, live band is great, food is good but service is slow due to short staffing but that is everywhere these days! Parking is a nightmare!

I like it! I ordered a cheese steak sandwich without the peppers and onions, lol and I loved it! the charcuterie isn't bad for a bar that really shouldn't have it on their menu as I feel it is more made up but it was okay. (they could do that better) But the Bar tenders are great, the Manager is the Bomb...he actually works and helps out his staff vs. staying in the office moving around paperwork pretending to work. This is a great weekend place with live music or a good place for a quiet drink earlier in the week.

The food is delicious and always comes out quickly. Every night they have a special that is different and always phenomenal. I love that one of the Sous Chef's or Chef Zac brings it out to you. Of course the drinks are delicious too. My beau loves the different bourbons but I'm in love with the Strawberry Fields. The best part is all the beautiful art to look at while you're there. You can always see something new during every visit.

First of all I couldn't believe this was the old Cheers. They have done a great job with transforming the place. The decor is also great. The service was slow. I had to flag someone down to get food. But the staff was friendly. I had the Shrimp 308 It was suppose to have a Cajun flavor but it just tasted salty. The Muse is a nice adult lounge with live music, food, drinks, and fun. The decor is different both inside and out, looking at it from the outside you would think it was a place built for children because of all the beautiful bright colors and it's fun murals, but once inside it's a really nice spot for adult fun and entertainment. There's a couple of pool tables, a dart board, and a few video games, a dance floor, lots of tables and a nice bar. The Muse is a nice addition to the Mandarin area of Jacksonville Florida.

I really like this place. The food is surprisingly very well done, and priced fairly. The Bourbon selection is great, if a little overpriced as compared to the non-specialty bars that have many of the same spirits. Good music on the weekends. Be careful, they start at 9ish but still up early. If you start on the heavy lifting we liquor at 8, you might not see the last set! Service is superior, I never had an empty glass for long. That's good for the bar, and for me. Go! Enjoy! People watching is fun too. :)

The drinks here were good. There were not many vegetarian options, I was told the pasta didn’t have meat and when I complained about the sauce having meat they told me there was not meat in it. So as a warning to any vegetarians their pastas vodka sauce has meat in it. Also the bread it came with seemed off.

Refreshed and updated, this casual eatery and watering hole has benefited greatly from its redesign. Clean and clear, the updated interior is now smoke free. A small menu, but the french dip and fries were very tasty. And then the dueling pianos showed up on this Thursday night. A bit loud, but they certainly drew a crowd. We left the show to the fans who seemed eager for the music. We will be back.

Service is good, bourbon selection is awesome, but you can't play their jukebox anymore, which sucks as the house music is weird. But management called me out so I need to retract my statement . Muse is pretty awesome. Buuuuut, the jukebox is on and it appears it is functional when you enter the establishment. So you will lose your credits and money until they extricate the touchtunes off the wall or figure out how to make it not steal your hard earned money.

Great place, Amazing bartenders, lovely atmophere with love bands. If you love Bourbons and Whiskey this is the place to be. Smoked Muse was my favorite. I'll add a picture next time! Food was fantastic I had an amazing burger called The Henry Matisse ( believe that's how it's spelled). Can't wait to come back and continue this epic journey of Bourbon bliss

Brad was our bartender last night and he was amazing! He helped me celebrate my 21st by giving me tips and tricks on what tastes good, what to start with, and then what to advance to! He made the experience wonderful and one I will never forget for me and my family. Make sure you go when Brad is working and you’ll be destined to have a great time with a bartender who will not only joke with you, but educate you on different drinks!

Didn't get any food, stopped in to see the place. Had a couple of really well made drinks, heard a pretty lively band and enjoyed the company of my beautiful bride. We had ate down the street, so we stopped in to see what the place was like. We'll definitely be going back.

I went there twice. Both times the waiters and waitresses are very friendlily. Last time I went, the kitchen was about to close in 5 mins. All the waitresses were gone and off the shift. The bartender Brad served us, 5 star service. The only reason I took away one star is due to the potion of mussels they serve, kind of small and only one slice of garlic bread. Overall, I like the vibe there.

Sat at the bar, as I always do, took some time for 1 of the 3 bartenders to get my order. Slow start, but she recovered. The food was ok, pork belly (not my favorite). The chips were good. Music was good.

My boyfriend and I came to visit Jacksonville for a few days and thought we would bar hop a little bit. This place was amazing! The bartenders were great, the atmosphere was great! The food was amazing! Ken that works there is the absolute best, we would probably come back just to see him! The entire place as a whole was delightful!

Need to make the dance floor available as soon as live music starts; however, when we asked, the staff pretty quickly started moving tables out of the way to clear a dance area. Enjoyed a couple of “fancy” drinks (which are overpriced, but that’s becoming more and more common around Jax)… did not eat dinner. Great atmosphere!

Love the vibe and atmosphere of this place, especially during the week. However, I’ve missed my favorite bartender Brad in there a couple times during the week recently. Dude makes the best old fashioned in Jax.

This place is overpriced and the bartenders aren't attentive. I was one of six (in the entire bar) on a Monday night with 2 bartenders. One was sitting down and on their phone and the other was literally just doing laps around the bar.

We've been a few times and the bartender, Jordan, makes a GREAT apple martini. Foods good - have tried a few different things. I will say I'll be paying with cash moving forward. Don't like paying extra to use a debit/credit card. More

Just moved here, discovered The Muse just driving around. Great atmosphere! They have a very open space and bar. If you like to play pool or darts, this is a great spot. The bartenders, Elise and Brad, are so awesome, friendly, great

Excellent selection of bourbon. Plenty of specialty cocktails for any taste. For $2 they will add smoke to any mix drink. I don't really taste it but it makes it more of an aromatic experience. Love how they renovated the place!

Not a lot of food choices, but what we ordered was good. Drinks are a little on the higher side. Beer is reasonable. The place itself is pretty nice.

To call yourself a bourbon bar just because you have bourbon is a stretch. Chili's, Olive Garden, and the Ramada Inn bar sell bourbon. This place was classier when it was Cheer's. Bourbon list was not up to speed and that is

My experience was fantastic! The food was great, and service was fast! They had any drink you could ask for. Restrooms were well kept also. And playing trivia with DJ Brig was fun too. Overall, I give it an easy 5 stars!

Active Beaches had a sports night that had to be cancelled due to rain so we decided to check out Muse so we could play pool. We ended up having a great time and had some great food and drinks. Glad it rained! More

I went here for the first time since it changed from cheers to the Muse a couple weekends ago and loved it! It's so clean. And the band was great! I danced til I was sore! Lol

As a bourbon fan it was impossible to not stop here. Drinks are a bit pricey, but not necessarily overpriced. The atmosphere and crowd made up for the cost. Would definitely go again.

Busy and hoppin but cover pricey drinks slow service. Got served a frozen Guinness that never carbonated and was flat. Got served a victory golden monkey that was skunk. More

Great place for drinks after work. The motif inside is beautiful. Plenty of tvs for sports too. Try the old fashion, top notch for sure.
