"What happened to the Boston Cream Pie donut!? ♀️ We've been going here for over a year"
I'm back at home Phoenix, Arizona and wanted something sweet, normally I'd have Chocolate Chip Chip Ahoy Cookies but that's a treat I have when home in Michigan with my sister. So I decided Krispy Kreme Donuts, sadly enough the Krispy Kreme I went to on Bell does not make their own donuts (I've never heard that before), nor do they have the main selection I like (maple nor glaze). Then my Sis Thia here in AZ told me about The Original Rainbow Donuts at 15834 N. Cave Creek Rd..... The service is great, the donuts are fresh, the store is immaculate and the price is just what I needed. I was able to chose the dozen donuts I wanted at $13. Then I thought let me get some specialties, after picking out the 5 I wanted he said "1 more donut, it would be cheaper". I'm happy, my grandbabies will be even happier when they wake up. The store opens at 4am. I went at 6am. I'm told these donuts can last up to 7 days in the refrigerator, just pop in the microwave for a few seconds and they taste as fresh as the day you purchased them, I'll have to let you know if they last that long. While I know my post is long, I believe in allowing the reader to have a full vivid picture of why I gave 5 stars. Thanks for reading, TLewis
I live in Paradise Peak West, a 55 and up, gated community on East Pinnacle Peak Rd. A few years ago, I took over Coffee & Donuts for my dear friend, Chloe Groeber, who had run it the second and fourth Saturday of every month in our Club House, for years. Chloe insisted I continue to purchase donuts ONLY from Rainbow Donuts, on Cave Creek Road, as they were the best, and she only wanted the best for ‘her people.’ In the beginning, about a dozen people gathered. Word spread of the deliciousness of these beautiful donuts, and over the past year, we’ve purchased as many as 6 1/2 dozen! We buy a variety, people often call or text me to be sure I purchase their favorite, and NEVER have we been disappointed! The donuts ARE the best in the valley. The Apple Fritters, Raspberry Jellies, Bavarian, and, oh my gosh… They’re ALL so fresh, yummy, comforting and delicious, it’s not even fair to pick a favorite! The employees are professional, polite, kind and they never getting annoyed with me as I count and make selections! They are as exceptional as their donuts! If you’re looking for the BEST donuts in Phoenix, RAINBOW DONUTS is the place!
Hands down the best donuts we’ve ever had and we’ve tried a lot of donut shops locally and other places and this one tops the others by a landslide for both quality (taste) of the donuts and variety. Donuts are my son’s favorite thing on the planet and we’ve moved around some so we’ve probably been to 25+ donut shops. We no longer live in the area but when we’re back in town we always try to visit and that means driving 1/2 hr each way but SO worth it. Our favorites are the tiger tail, red velvet and the cake donuts are the bomb. You really can’t go wrong with any of them, even the what is usually safe and possibly boring glazed donut is so freaking good and like biting into a pillow of delicious goodness. Also they are quite friendly and happy to make suggestions as sometimes the selection is overwhelming. Lucky us, we’re in town and it is definitely time to go get some donuts! FYI get there early for best selection!
Always tasty. Pleasant staff. EDIT: Last time we were here was 8 months ago. We live in SoCal but periodically come here to visit our daughter and her family. Always have to go to ORD! Stopped by this morning. Tina took care of us. She is awesome. Personable, pleasant, helpful & knowledgeable! What else can you ask for? Tried a "Tiger Tail" today. Great! Where else can you walk out of a donut store after spending $30 and be totally and completely ecstatic? It can happen here. Go see Tina!! EDIT: Back in Phoenix again to see our family. This place NEVER disappoints. Super kind and helpful. Made a custom croissant breakfast sandwich for me. It was excellent. A young man behind the counter pulled and packed our order. Very good manners and polite. Obviously raised well. Thank you, again, for the great service and seriously scrumptious and tasty treats.
What happened to the Boston Cream Pie donut!? ♀️ We've been going here for over a year. The only reason we go to this place is because the pastry cream in the Boston Cream Pie is really good. But now they changed it to some weird really sweet icing. They didn't even have it as a filling, they just cut the donut in half and put the icing in between. Please bring back the pastry cream filling! Edit* The store replied and apparently they still have the same Boston (yay!) but the staff must have given us the wrong donut (we went through the drive-thru and always asked for Boston) Good to know so we can go back! Though we'll double check the donuts from now on.
I have been before and raved. I'm gonna rave again. I still hugely suggest the blueberry fritter. My fav! But I really don't think you can go wrong with anything you choose. As I walked in, my mind was set on "just a half dozen this time". There is a magical spell that is cast as soon as that door closes behind you. There HAS to be. It's rare I can walk out with less than a bakers dozen! Ha! I start second guessing what everyone will want then start thinking of the neighbors and how much a donut would make their morning...Ha! The power of the donut. Especially these.
Good donuts. The bathrooms been broken for a while now but otherwise good

I have really enjoyed having this doughnut shop here and have been coming here ever since they opened up. With there being sooo many different places to get doughnuts it was hard for me to find one that I really liked and was a great spot for my kids to get what they want/like as well. Then I found Rainbow Doughnuts and I was hooked! They have awesome prices and always have the ones I want and love! Check them out if you haven’t already it’s so worth it! I highly recommend anyone and everyone to at least try them out, you won’t be sorry!! 4/5 stars!!!
Drove all the way from Scottsdale mountain. What happened to your jelly filled donuts?? They are awful. The raspberry filling in your jelly filled donuts tastes so artificial. It used to be dark and rich with the seeds--homemade. Now the raspberry looks neon pink /red, like chemicals. The cream stuffed donuts don't taste like they used to. Seems like you are now getting your jellies and Bavarian creams in bulk. The only edible donut was the chocolate twist. No working restroom inside??
I ordered 30 dozen donut holes for pick up this weekend. As I picked up my order, I also had my newborn with me- carrying her in her car seat. The lady who helped me at the counter was so kind and took all 3 large donut boxes out to my car for me! It was so sweet! The ordering/payment process was also simple over the phone. The donut holes were sooo delicious, too (glazed, chocolate, and powdered)!
Huge selection of specialty made donuts with an amazing assortment of toppings! Their Cafe Sud Au drink is amazing!! Lots of rich spices like orange zest, and maybe vanilla, and a huge dose of caffeine! I love it!! Plus, the staff is super friendly and efficient. You can be in and out in mins, or sit down and enjoy your morning at clean tables with nice company. Enjoy!!
Our fav donut shop in the world... literally World! I love this Maple and Bacon concoction since I spend lots of time in a Muslim country where bacon is either turkey type or beef type or English (not my style). They have a drive thru but go inside! You can see all the pretty delicious things and might find a new fav.
First time at rainbow donuts 8/16/23 I got 3 dozen assorted for $50. The lady at the window was nice and threw in a big donut for me to try for free. And it didn’t disappoint. It was soft and pillow like without being overly soft and the flavor wasn’t overly sweet. I definitely would come try the more fun flavors
Aww rainbow donuts, always a fav. Today we stopped by store going to kids workshop at Home Depot. Always good service and good donuts. Just quiet little donut shop putting some of the best donuts. Today we got a cinnamon donut, maple bacon, chocolate long john, chocolate with M&Ms, and some donut holes.
Best donuts Great service (quick, friendly, affordable) Their tiger tails are my favorite

I this donut shop. The atmosphere is so quaint and homie I was thinking to myself this wondering how they could make these donut's so flavorful and fresh. It's the Original Rainbow donuts shop. This place makes some of the best donuts must in the world. …
Best doughnuts in town by far! I go every Saturday morning with zero regrets. I used to think a much larger chain with the initials KK and also DD were good, but they don't even compare to Rainbow!! Shop local and support amazing small businesses like Rainbow Doughnuts!
Super good donuts! We stopped in close to closing and bought a fritter along with some other donuts. We were surprised to learn it was a Cherry fritter because we are used to Apple fritters, but what a fun surprise! So much flavor and so fresh.
Recently found out about Cronuts and found that this location had them. Super tasty, but don't buy them cause I want them all to myself. They have a variety of tasty donuts there and are eaten up quickly when brought home.
Great place, great donuts and great drive thru. Will definitely be back!

Holy cow are these delicious donut! Stopped by because we were moving and needed a quick snack for movers... I will be driving across town to get these again! Photo is their maple bacon - RIDICULOUSLY GOOD!
This location is hands down the best spot to get doughnuts. I don't go anywhere else ever. Plus they make a deluxe breakfast sandwich that is delicious. Thanks guys. I will add photos next time I visit.
Love the donuts but the customer service was horrible. There was nobody else there and yet I was made to feel like my being there was an inconvenience. Probably won’t go back to the CaveCreek location.
Nice staff and fantastic donuts, the apple filled bear claw is over the top good! I ordered a dozen and the employee kicked in a couple samples, thanks for great service and really excellent donuts.
I googled donuts while in Phoenix and this place showed up. I don't eat donuts much but these are the absolute best donuts I have ever had. Got the large apple fritter it was just awesome !
Was closed at 11:30am on a Tuesday, 14-nov. No signs explaining why. Was really looking forward to the maple bacon donuts. I hope they haven't gone out of business.
I stop there atleast once a week. The donuts are so fresh and yummy. Nice selection. There is a drive-thru which is nice. Far superior than the big national chain
Delicious donuts! They have their drive through open and i like that we can support a local business during social distancing. Definitely recommend!
Everyone should stop by and get some donuts! Can't go wrong with a place that specifically makes them. Believe me that they're amazingly delicious
Great service with freshly baked donuts everyday! Big selection from Apple Fritter, Raspberry filled my favorite. My spot to grab a dozen or 2.
This is the only place I buy doughnuts. They are always soft, fresh and delicious. My now wife and I even got some for our wedding!
Beautiful BIG fresh donuts but WAY too much glaze! It looked like straight up glue. You had to flake it off to enjoy …
Enjoyed this place since the first time This is a great place to get fresh made donuts My kids love this place
One of the best donuts in town. Plain black coffee no foo foo sugar drinks! That's what the donuts are for.
Why do all the filled donuts look like this??? The taste was okay, but overall very disappointed.
Best fritters (apple, cherry, or blueberry) I have ever had. I am partial to the blueberry.
This shop has the best maple bar and blueberry cake donut I've had in a long while.
My daughter makes me go there for the tigers tail! Yes it’s worth it.
