There are very few places in US where they can make a good espresso. In NY, I spent one day trying to find one but none approached the quality that you can get in eg. Italy. This place can make simply the best espresso I had in US. It beats quite a few places in Italy as well and is really one of the best ones I ever had. The taste is quite perfect. Even if you are not an espresso fan, you can get amazing coffee there. I was able to try their special drip coffee. But this is not the traditional half burnt bitter or tasteless coffee that typically get from the big drip machines. The process of preparation has to be very careful I think because there is an amazing amount of flavour. I think even people who do not like coffee due to some bitterness would like this. I would recommend do not drink it immediatelly but let it cool a little bit and you will start recognising many distinct flavours. No bitterness no burnt aftertaste. The place is also quite pleasant to sit. If you even get to Salt Lake airport, there is a skyline train going downtown, this trip is worth it just because of the coffee as it is difficult to get such quality in US.
Was with my husband and we had gotten back from a church service and was trying to get a nice coffee and drinks to relax and enjoy didn't do much research just looked up coffee near by we ordered an espresso and a tea, i got my espresso first, it was $3.5 and i got a sample looking coffee disappointed. I noticed the pictures behind me and I did not drink it. Just pictures upon pictures of blood coming out of paintings horrible and demonic looking paintings. I believe in the importance of creating spaces that are welcoming to people of all faiths and backgrounds. While I understand that artistic expression is subjective, I found some of the imagery, which I would describe as having demonic or dark themes, to be disconcerting. I would kindly suggest that the coffee shop consider the impact of such imagery on its diverse clientele. Perhaps a more inclusive approach to decor could create a more inviting environment for everyone.

This was my second visit to peoples coffee, I have been dreaming about their macadamia nut latte for months and was finally around with time to visit again and boy did they deliver!! Both visits the Baristas have been so kind and helpful. I love feeling 100% comfortable asking a barista questions to help me be sure I’m getting something I’ll love! I got a 16oz iced mac nut latte again and it was heavenly once again! I also got the Breakfast Sando on an Asiago bagel and MMMMmm SO GOOD! The pickled onion is just so perfect. I love trying out new coffee shops and have a mile long list for SLC that I’m not even half way done with but I just had to revisit Peoples instead of a new shop because it’s just that good. Def give them a try! Only issue is parking but that isn’t in their control (it is in a city sooo ya know) so just plan ahead don’t bet on parking right out front. :)

If you're in the mood for coffee that tastes so good it will make each coffee bean cry with joy and pastries fresh enough to make Marie Antoinette nod her approval, The People's Coffee in Sale Lake City is the place to be. Not only is their coffee brewed daily to perfection and with adoring care, they serve some of the most unique pastries around. From delectable olive oil cakes to flakey croissants and mouthwatering scones, each treat is crafted out of love for coffee enthusiasts far and wide. The decor of this coffee house focuses on creating an atmosphere of inclusivity, no matter what your coffee preference may be - from espresso shots to iced lattes, The People's Coffee has something for everyone! So if you're looking for a not just coffee or a pastry but a place full of amazingness and positivity - this is the place for you!

I guess it’s the liberal way to have poor odor and etiquette at this local coffee shop. The place smelt like feet as soon as you walked in. Not to mention, there was an injured man on crutches who came in, was clearly having trouble walking and instead of the barista bringing the coffee to him, he sat the coffee down, called his name (after just taking the order literally) and walked away without once considering taking the drink out to this person. So, I took it out to him. God forbid, how hard could it be to walk 5 feet to give this guy his coffee. Other than that, the coffee was okay and the panini was a pile of trash. Teach the kids behind the counter to have some consideration for others and help those in need.
The People's Coffee might very well be my new favorite coffee shop. I really dig it's super chill atmosphere that really showcases the people. It's bright, cozy, and I love the soft jazz music playing in the background. The staff greet you as if you're a long lost friend, and the no frills menu will make your decision quick and easy. Their options might not be as expansive as your local chain, but know that whatever your selection is, it will be handcrafted especially for you and with premium ingredients. Try the iced mocha made with espresso, milk, and yummy organic cocoa instead of artificial syrup. It's seriously amazing and the best I've EVER had!
I love everything about The People’s Coffee. Staff are very friendly and seen happy. Love it. My coffee is always done the baristas they are the best. Trust me I've been to a lot of star bucks but here they are very nice friendly staff. I’m very picky about my drinks and they get them right every time! Love this place, they are fast service and easy access. Lots of tables usually available. Lots of power outlets. No dirty looks from the Baristas. But most all, they have likely the fastest WIFI internet of really any business I know around the SLC Valley good for school work Consistent atmosphere. Good Job Guys!
This coffee shop is great!! It was a busy and welcoming vibe when I walked in. The coffee was great and they had yummy pastry options. They use cafe ibis coffee (admittedly my least favorite Utah coffee roaster mostly because my ex girlfriend loved them. So anything she liked I naturally dislike but I digress.) the barista took a lot of pride in her work and was super excited with her delicious macchiato creation and checked back with me to see if I enjoyed it. I love to see workers who take pride in their work. I’ll be back just for that. Great coffee shop right downtown by Beer bar.
I love this place — coffee is coffee some may say but if you know coffee, this is the place for that perfect brew! Always fun to see the different arts displayed by local artists and photographers. The owner is a local as well - I got to know him over the years and have seen that his way of running his business is very professional, always on point. A lot of options to get coffee in SLC , but I would recommend you try and make this place a part of your coffee routine! Tables and shop are always clean and sanitized for those weary of the GERMS
This coffee shop is amazing. It definitely beats Starbucks! The coffee is amazing (and I am way picky about coffee, being that I rarely drink it), the vibe is awesome, the service is great, and I really enjoyed the art displayed. Some of it was the work of my tattoo artist, who is amazing, so it was really cool to see her art on the wall! She actually recommended this coffee shop to my wife, who wanted to get some coffee while I was getting tattooed, and she fell in love. She wanted me to try it, so we stopped by today, and now I am in love, too!
This place is wonderful! I have been going to the 2nd and 2nd location for about as long as it has been open. Over that time I have made friends with the barista's and the owner. It is a warm, welcoming, kind place run and full of genuinely lovely people. I cannot say enough good about it. The food is excellent, as is the coffee. I love it and I always will.

Great place for a breakfast sandwich, coffee, and a sweet treat. I really enjoyed the interior except for the lack of shades in the windows making the sunlight a little harsh on some of the tables. Other than that a great place to sit and sip, read a book, or meet a friend. Decent amount of street parking but if you can walk or bike here that is the easiest way.

Stopped by this coffee shop on a whim and was delighted that they served food as well! I got my usual iced doppio which was so delicious as well as a panini sandwich. I loved all the big windows which made the space feeling very open yet cozy at the same time. 10/10 would recommend if you’re in the area!

The service was good but the price for a latte didn't make sense for a shop that uses generic syrups. I got one of the worst pumpkin spice lattes I've ever had. Imo it's too spicy without much pumpkin flavor. I'm kind of a coffee snob and I can barely taste the coffee. I don't usually go to shops that don't make their own syrups though so maybe it's just me. For anyone who cares they use Monin syrups

Stopped in since the reviews said it was really good but left a bit disappointed. Coffee was ok nothing special. Only 2 shots total for each size of drink ordered, otherwise 1.25 per shot added. House coffee was ok per my husband. The shop itself was cute and had lots of food options but we had already eaten but left disappointed.

Very friendly baristas. Just had a macchiato which was very reasonably priced for having 2 shots of espresso in it. The food there looked good too but I brought my own pastry from another spot and enjoyed the sun outside. Great spot that I would definitely try more of their menu if I was ever back in town.

It seemed like an average café hidden within the city, but seemed more chill. Still, service was slow because there was only one batista. Love the environment though, and the texture of the place. Will go back some time in the future, maybe the service will change my review. The batista did know what she was doing and knowledgeable on how the make drinks, the best way to make them, and the most convenient ways, making for quick making, at least as quick as she could alone. Worth a visit.
The food was shockingly good, and the coffee fantastic. It has a classic coffee shop vibe, and as would be expected for a bustling shop downtown, it's loud. Maybe not the best place to meet a friend for a quite conversation, but definitely a fun place to meet up.

Good place to get coffee, but wouldn't really stay around for much longer. I suppose it may just be my personality type, but I like those cozy, comfy, home-y type of coffee shops and this one didn't really do it for me! It's definitely a more modern build in a modern building, which is a style that's definitely becoming more and more popular. That being said, the coffee was really delicious!

Oh. My. Gosh. The ingredients used in the breakfast sandwich taste so amazingly fresh and delicious; the bagel is the perfect balance of warm but still soft like fresh baked bread. There is no sign of that refrigerated, wilted look or taste with any of the veggies; when you get solid, crisp tomato slices in a sandwich you know that is choice quality. This may just be a breakfast sandwich, but I wanted to eat five more immediately afterwards. Sadly, I was full.
The staff are what make this place shine! Everytime I come in they're super friendly. I love getting pastries here because they have interesting and tasty options, and it's great how enthusiastic the employees are about their recommendations. I've never been disappointed by their suggestions. I just tried their turkey panini and it was DELICIOUS. Do yourself a favor and stop in for good vibes, great service, yummy food, and a comforting cup of coffee!
During my recent visit to Salt Lake City, I had the pleasure of stopping by The People's Coffee twice. On both occasions, I was impressed with the quality of service and the delicious coffee that was served. Overall, I would rate my experience a 4.2 out of 5 and would highly recommend this spot to anyone in need of a quick coffee while passing through the area.

Their coffee is okay, and I love the breakfast sandwich. The shop is very clean, pretty and the service is good. However, the location right at street corner attracts so many weird people that smoke, drink and wander around or try to catch your attention; I would recommend sitting inside the shop only. Parking is relatively difficult to find, as expected for downtown area.

My go-to coffee shop in Salt Lake City and I will do everything I can to make sure everyone I know goes here. I'm editing my previous 3 star review. In the past, they hadn't been wiping down tables and had served a pastry on a little paper that you were then supposed to put on the table. I went in recently and it was very clean. After a guest got up to leave, they wiped down the table. The staff was friendly and courteous and I enjoyed their iced latte. Great job, will be back and highly recommend!!
The coffee always tastes great, the food is good, and this is a great space to hangout. The interior is beautiful, totally worth checking out! Glad they're here in Salt Lake

Thought it was pretty strange that they don’t put lids on their drinks. If I wanted my drink to not have a lid, I’d go somewhere that does mugs lol. For some reason wifi password isn’t displayed, you have to ask for it. Worst part was I ordered their grilled cheese panini just for it to be made with American cheese. I mean, who thinks that that’s a good idea in 2023. Won’t be back.
I used to love this place simply for the decor but I've noticed the drink I order (it's always the same) gets priced differently everytime. Sometimes it's $2 something, other times $3 something and today it was FIVE dollars for a simple iced coffee. Idk if the barista today just didn't like me or what but paying $5 for an iced coffee was insane and I was too shy to correct him.
I recently moved to an office by this coffee house. I tried their bulletproof coffee. One word..... AMAZING..... The baristas are friendly and do a great job. They also have the best pastry cheese danish I have had in a long time. I tried their veggie, egg, and cheese croissant today and was not disappointed. This is a great coffee shop in the heart of downtown Salt Lake.
Love this little shop, great place to hangout and do homework, also a great place to come socialize. When I go to coffee shops I go for the coffee and return for the service, 6/5 stars service here you're always greeted with a smile and the workers make sure you are taken care of. The best Thai tea and cold brew in salt lake in my opinion. Definitely recommend this shop.
OMG!!! I've been going to so many coffee shops in the last decade, and this one is IT! This shop is so welcoming. I'm a both coffee and tea addict. Their coffee is simply amazing. Lately, I've been really into teas, and this place has such authentic teas (I'm Japanese so I can proudly say it's authentic!). If you have doubts, just give it a go! You will not regret it!
Some of the best coffee I've found yet in SLC. Only critique is it was a bit below average in typical temperature for an oatmilk latte. They must use extra care as to not burn the oatmilk, but otherwise the taste was lovely :-). Seating is limited, but still enough to find a spot to work or read. Food was also delicious to up the experience. Can't wait to visit again!
I have been here several times on Sunday mornings. (Same barista each time). The Americano is what you expect if you take proper care to select beans. The Mocha is the best I have had in Salt Lake and the turnovers they stock are ridiculously good. Yes, it costs more than making it yourself at home. Yes, it's worth it. Proletariat ethos. Bourgeoisie Mocha. 5 stars.
The People’s Coffee is a cute coffee shop. Happy to see some diversity in salt lake. Great photos and vibes. My barista was kind. However, it feels a little disingenuous with no or little POC. Coffee: We got two drinks. 1) oat milk vanilla latte 2) season pumpkin latte was not great

It’s meh. We like to call this place “Communist Coffee” since they throw politics at you right as you walk in the door. Coffee is decent, but way overpriced (prices aren’t really for the people, if you catch my drift). Ever since I found Ascoli Espresso a couple blocks away, which I enjoy much more and which is way less expensive, I won’t be back to this place.
What an upgrade! The new location looks amazing lots of light and nice decorations. I love to go to the old location but this is amazing. The service and the coffee great like always. This time, I had iced mocha and veggie omelette croissant. The have more bakery goods now and they look tasty . Mine today was really good. If you coffee lover this is the place.
The coffee and paninis go crazy! All the workers are super nice and I really like the vibe. It’s kind of like old world mixed with new. I got a chia latte and Turkey avocado panini, I highly recommend the panini! Super good and the avocado wasn’t mushy.

I love The People's Coffee. It's steadily busy but never gets too loud. Great place to study or work. Even their drip coffee is excellent! Much better than Starbucks. What takes the cake is their Bulletproof Coffee!! It is DELICIOUS! It only comes in one size (16oz) and is ~$5.50. However, this is absolutely worth the treat to yourself.

Not my choice. Place is very noisy, service is bad. They forgot to make my tea for 20 mins and there was only 1 person ahead of me. Muffin wasn't great, tea was ok. Wi-Fi took forever to connect. Not many electrical plugs for computer work. I'll look elsewhere for a place to work and relax over a cup of tea and a pastry.
Its a great cafe by finicky Melbourne standards (yep us Aussies ruined the simplicity of the cafe ). Good coffee, order a pastry and let time drift by. The staff are friendly and always have a smile on their faces. If you want to spend a few hours here reading or working on your laptop, this is the place to do it. …

Stylish and delicious! Originally from Europe, I've lived in this area for more than two decades. I crave the kind of real, delicious food that is served at this cafe (I had the Caprese) and it's so hard to find. The interior is clean and modern with a vibe of antique. And the barista was ever so kind. Love this place!
A cozy and delightful coffee shop. You get a upbeat vibe seconds of walking in, the staff is amazing and the owner himself a very warming person. They are all very personable. The Dirty Chai is my absolute favorite drink it’s a MUST TRY! I definitely recommended trying this place out. They also have vegan donuts, yum!
Very low key and simple environment. I came in about an hour before closing and they were out of coffee, yikes! She offered to make me an Americano for the price of the coffee or brew another pot of coffee. I took the Americano, it was smooth and silky. I usually like my Americano a little darker but it was good.
Stopped by the other day for a coffee and I just loved the vibes of the entire place. So much natural light coming in thru the windows and all the baristas were so kind! I forgot what food I ended up ordering but I do remember it tasting super yummy def recommend coming here to anybody …

Can’t believe it took me over a year of going here to pick up on the Marxist theme (!) but once I realized, I liked it even more. The coffee is above average, the baristas are always friendly, it’s an incredibly convenient location on Broadway, and perhaps most critically, it’s never packed or too busy.
I love this place! The new location is a swanky upgrade from the older building-- it has big wrap-around windows for awesome natural light for a bright, open space to hang out in. The baristas are super nice, the local art they feature is the coolest, and the coffee is delicious! Definitely recommend.
This unassuming little coffee shop has the best espresso around. While most suitable for smaller groups, as there are only a few tables, great coffee and decent pastries can be found here. The barista was super sweet and helpful, and overall it's a nice place to take a break for an afternoon coffee.
It's truly one of a kind coffee shop. Omar and his team are brilliant and super accommodating. Thanks for having the best mocha I've ever had.

We got a couple coffees and hot chocolate. Pretty good coffees but the service/attitude of the staff was subpar. Taking our ordering and giving us the drinks felt forced. The lack of friendliness took away from the overall coffee experience. If they fix that aspect, it would be a good place.
Great customer service and delicious coffee. I always feel like it is a positive experience to go there, plus the artwork and portraits make it a unique café. They host other events such as pop-ups, open mic, and even yoga—they are invested in the local community and always the people first.
The coffee was amazing & the chocolate croissant was super tasty & fresh! Although the location is a bit sketchy, this street isn’t the best in SLC. Definitely go if you want great coffee & pastries- but don’t recommend going alone unless you park right in front of the shop .. …

I've been going to People's Coffee for 6 Years now regularly. I will no longer be going due to rude staff and poor mask regulation. They claim to require masks but there's never anyone wearing masks. The quality in drinks has declined significantly in the last couple months
Is Marxism a hipster gimmick to this establishment? You have a grand picture of Karl Marx, yet your workers don’t own their own labor, are recorded every hour by the owner, make sub-standard wages, etc, etc. there is nothing remotely socialist or Marxist about this place.
I enjoy the walks to this coffee shop in the morning, very friendly staff, clean venue and enjoyable atmosphere all around. I strongly recommend anyone to check it out if you're in the area.

I ADORE this place. The staff is friendly and for as long as I have lived in downtown SLC i went to this place. I get the most basic drink (a vanilla latte) but it's so much better here for some reason. So happy to have you guys in the neighborhood!
I had an oat milk latte and a muffin. Pretty good oat milk latte. Nice atmosphere to hang out and get some work done

Latte Coffee, Avocado Toast
My bf and I love trying different coffee places when we travel and were less than impressed by this place. I got a drip coffee which was standard. He got a latte which he didn't like. I ordered a panini which tasted good once I got it, but
I've stopped in this place from time to time and I wonder what it is that people like about it because I don't get it. Everyone there is always on their laptop. No one talks to each other. The service is "meh" and it's like dying in the
Good vibes. Fresh local juice. Fermented onion was nice touch on avocado toast. Pastries were solid (for utah).

Love coming here to have a nice chat with friends or to catch up on some work. Love the natural light. The staff is always nice to us. I suggest you come here! and not to forget the coffee! I love the mocha latte, thats my favorite!
Love People's Coffee! Legit, the only place to get a mocha. They use real cocoa, not syrup! Delicious! We send someone from my office for coffee runs pretty regularly. Friendly staff and nice environment in the shop, very relaxing!
I walked into this place once for a coffee date and never stopped coming back. The aesthetics are immaculate, the people are personable/friendly, and the coffee simply slaps. I can see myself coming here every week for a long time.
I work as a bike messenger downtown and this is my place for coffee breaks. The coffee and pastries are top. The art is lovely. But the best part is Omar the owner and his crew of awesome. Stop in...you will not be disappointed.
Best cappuccino I've had at a random coffee house here stateside. Good atmosphere. It's a maze through the door in the back to get to the bathroom haha.

We love that they serve Cafe Ibis coffee and their danishes make my heart happy. Warm up the chocolate croissants, breakfast croissants, or order the panini and life will be perfect! Friendly staff and chill environment too!
That was definitely one of the better mochas I've had outside of Portland Heavy notes from that milk but with nothing burnt that's not an issue

This is the new location. It’s a very rough outside corner usually occupied by homeless and mentally ill people which for the most part leave you alone. But inside is great coffee and great service. Coffee always hot.
This this my second week coming in daily, the customer service is great. The owner and his employees are always friendly and welcoming. Go check it out, awesome art work from diferente amazing artist in the walls.
Great people. Wonderful atmosphere. Staff is friendly and helpful. The coffee is even better than all the previous mentioned statements.

I can't believe I've never wrote about People's more. New location is on point. When I think mocha I think People's Coffee. I get my Ibis bean here as well. That Omar for building such a great culture in SLC.
Wow, great coffee shop! Excellent coffee and skilled, friendly baristas who really know what they're doing and put craft into making great espresso and drinks. Good music, chill atmosphere, this place rules.
Great brews and price. Lots of outdoor seating available. The location is accessible and easy to find. Next time I go I think I'll order food, I saw a girl getting avocado toast and it looked/smelled great.
