I called the store to make a nail appointment for my dog who has severe anxiety. I asked if it was possible for the groomer to come to the front of the store and clip her nails as this is how the groomer at the Riverside South location has been cutting her nails for years with ease. The staff said that would be fine. When I got there the groomer said this was not possible and that I had to bring my dog to the back room and put her up on the table. I tried my very best to do this but my dog began bucking backwards and shaking. I asked the groomer if anyone else could cut her nails. She said no. She was rude and told me that my dog was having a temper tantrum and I was reinforcing her bad behaviour. She said my dog was being an alpha dog. She walked away. The girl at the front said she would cut my dogs nails instead. My dog sat very still and the girl cut the quick of on one paws and she bled everywhere. This was a horrible experience and I will never return to this store again. The staff was extremely rude. If they are not able to cut a dogs nails without cutting the quick they should not be cutting nails at all. I don't appreciate the groomer trying to tell me how to handle my dog. Absolutely awful.

Very helpful and friendly employees, and knowledgeable as well. They're also very honest about their products; eg., was looking for something to keep fleas and ticks from biting my cat, as the drops such as Revolution only kill the beasties after they bite, and I needed a repellant or something that would kill them before they would bite. One of their products contained citronella, and I thought I'd read that that could be toxic to cats, so the young man helping me checked the label thoroughly, and sure enough, it warned that it could be toxic to cats (I assume it is a product meant solely for dogs). He cared enough to read the fine print for me, and wasn't just interested in making the sale (which, unfortunately, is the agenda at some of the bigger chains). This may seem to contradict my assertion that they are knowledgeable, but this is the first time in many, many visits where they weren't certain about one interaction. Otherwise, they've been very educational! As long as I have pets, this will be my go-to pet store.

Great store and great staff, and great support to those in the CAF and the seniors in the community. To all the keyboard warriors, she was given a very fair chance to get her act together and chose to quit rather than try to learn how to do her job. If the accusation of discrimination or harassment is legitimate then it should be brought forward by the complainant in the proper venue, not on the internet. Making defamatory claims without anything backing them up leaves you open to be sued for damages. I’d advise people to choose their words carefully.

We will not be going back. Every time we have gone, and stated the issue with our dog's digestion, we have gotten completely different advice from each person working the cash. The advice of one, would usually contradict the advice of the other. When we went in with our own research and knowledge of what we wanted, we were made to feel stupid and persuaded to buy their 'choice'. Whatever has been recommended has not worked out, has sometimes made things worse. Will not be returning, the advice is only opinion based and different every time.

Happen to be in Ottawa today and had called to see if they carried the brand of dog food I buy for my boys. Luckily they had a sale on so was able to save some money. Had lots in stock so was able to get the one I wanted. A bit crowded in the store but I'd take that over not having a good selection! Staff was polite and I was asked by both of them (at different times) if I needed help with anything. Very friendly. Glad I went so now I know another spot to find Horizon Pulsar and Fromm Gold! Thank you!

I needed a specific collar for my pup and with the lockdown, I was not able to go into the store to look at their options so I called instead. They told me they had some in stock and when I showed up, I was provided with multiple options to choose from. I brought my pup with me who was not cooperating to try on sizes and the staff came over, gave him treats and helped settle him so I could try the collars on. Very kind staff and lots of dog related items to choose from.

The petshoppe is an amazing pet store! The owners and managers are all awesome. They all go above and beyond for there customers. I have been going to the store for years. They have a great groomer and always have my stuff in stock. They always greet me and make my experience amazing. I would never shop anywhere else. My dog enjoys many treats the staff gives her and you can see how happy all the staff are when u shop there. They deserve 100 stars !!!!!!

Rarely answer our emails, and then when we do get an appointment booked for our dog it gets cancelled last minute. Will be finding another place and recommend you do too. Ridiculous how you can book an appointment 1.5 weeks in advance and they can just cancel it within 1hr of the appointment. You'd think a place that cares about their reputation would go above and beyond to try and find a solution. Absolute joke.

Normally quite good but today had a less than stellar experience. Waiting in line behind someone getting a dog tag. When that person was finished, rather than help me, the cashier helped the person after me. When she was done with that person, she asked what I wanted, then said I had to wait because she was busy making a dog tag, and (not sure why) also looked at me with thinly-veiled hostility. Disappointing.

Staff are extremely knowledgeable and are always willing to help with any problem I may have . My dogs LOVE the girls here ...they get so excited when I tell them where we are going !!! No better pet store in Ottawa. Always go above and beyond my expectations . Would recommend them to anyone near or far ..I live a ways away and it's worth the drive every time.

I just wanted to leave a review of the amazing job the groomers do at Pet Shoppe at Findlay Creek. Our previous groomers shut down and we were desperate to find someone else that could fill the spot. We are so happy we found the Pet Shoppe crew. They are though and gentle and the dogs always come back to us looking like a million bucks. Thank you

Great pet store. Products we like. Staff is very friendly, always making our two Westies and my spouse and I feel welcome. We have used their grooming services since our Westies joined our family. Shae and her team provide excellent care for our dogs and they always look fabulous afterwards. We know they are in good hands at The Pet Shoppe.

We love to bring our little Ellie here, she always looks great and smells fresh after being groomed by Shay. Having a groomer with patience, knowledge, and experience makes a huge difference. Recommend booking as early as possible as they are usually booked up a few weeks in advance (especially during the holidays!)

Staff at this store are so hopeful and very knowledgeable. Love their groomer Shay! Does an amazing job on our pooch :) would definitely recommend this store for what ever you are looking for. I took my new rescue pup to the groomers at The Pet Shoppe in Findlay Creek and I couldn’t be happier with the results. Not only does Benji look amazing, but the staff were also super knowledgeable and happy to teach me how best to take care of his fur. We will definitely be back! Thank you!

I have had good experiences at this store in the past but will not return after learning about some very injust treatment of a young female employee whom I know by one of the managers and some other staff

Thankfully we're they not only lovely and had Caylees fav chew sticks they saved my purse and everything in it...I had left it on the counter to pet another furkid!! Long drive back to get it my bad!

Been coming here for a while to get my rabbits nails clipped and have never had any problems. The groomer is always on time and so kind to my bun Spot and I. Front staff are super nice as well!

payed 220 for a 120 cut because our dogs were 'fussy' . We were not informed before of any additional charges due to a dogs behaviour. Was also very rude and unprofessional

Walked in, loved the environment and the staff, met the manager he was so friendly and helpful. The grooming that was done on my pup was phenomenal. Definitely recommend!

Had issues with Shay the groomer. I would avoid Shay at all costs. Owner of the business made the effort to rectify the situation, and for that I am appreciative.

Poor inventory control. They regularly dont have in stock dog food which they highly recommended many months ago so have to go to different stores to get it.
