Super cool bar, can't wait till they get their micro brew operation up and running. Pizza is awesome too. It's been several months since they opened as far as I know, so I'm not sure what the timeline is on the brewing. Docking 2 stars because the bowling setup is pretty dismal - went once a few months back and a couple of the 12 lanes were down. Our lane wasn't setting the pins right, so they moved us over a lane, and the ball return covered our bowling balls with black tar-like goo. Front desk clerk (who seemed like she'd rather be anywhere else) told us people don't usually bring their own bowling balls. Whatever, they'd just opened, not too worried about it. Went back in June of 2019 with friends, and they only had 3 operational lanes of 12. The front desk clerk (who was fantastic) explained this was because they're working on getting the scoring computers updated. We offered to keep score on paper, so she gave us a lane, and we were happy. Still, I think they kinda gotta get this bowling thing together if they're gonna be a cool bar with a bowling alley and not just a cool bar. IMHO, I would suggest they embrace the vintage vibe, ditch the computer scoring all together, charge for lanes by the hour rather than by the game, and give bowling groups a score sheet with instructions on how to keep score. Cheap, easy, and would fit the environment well. Overall, it's a cool place, worth checking out, and I hope they continue to get better.

My husband and I visited this bar on Saturday for Karaoke. We arrived around 10:30. We truly were not impressed by the host( Dj Turnakit). She would allow 2 singers to perform then she’d go out the door for a 10 minute smoke break. This was the pattern the entire night. The genre of music she was playing was not switched up the entire night. I didn’t mind the style of music but a variety would be suggested for versatility. My husband and I both signed the list to sing but it wasn’t until after I approached the Dj that at least I was able to sing. She explained to me that she saw my name but thought I was a drunken girl that was carried out. Would it have hurt to call the name just in case you had a mistaken identity? It seemed Dj Turnakit catered to the friends around her Dj table. This is a bad practice. I’m sure my husband and I were the only unfamiliar faces; being we live out of time. I finally sang “I wanna dance with somebody” by Whitney Houston. My husband will only return if there is a different KJ.

On 9/30/21 at 8:00 Pm. The worker at the bar claimed to be the OWNER when I stated my food was made incorrectly. I politely asked if my order (10 piece chicken) could be remade and she refused and stated she would have to charge me again. I then stated I come to this establishment often and I know how my meal should be made, considering I order the same thing every time. She stated that I was wrong and that my order doesn't come the way I described. I simply wanted the sauce on the side because I knew it was make the chicken soft! Do not eat or spend any money with this establishment because they aren't big on taking care of customers needs--thank you. Sincerely a business owner! I wish I never left a tip before checking my food!

THIS IS AN AMAZING HIDDEN GEM ON THE WEST SIDE OF JAX!!!!!!!! Came here not expecting much considering the area it's located in. I was shocked at the very welcoming atmosphere! Great staff very friendly, large selection of drinks, there was even a drink special on a Saturday night! And let me tell you about the pizza, they state on their menu that the dough is imported from Brooklyn. I was born and raised in New Haven, CT and have had a great New York slice among pizza. This place had the most authentic crispy with a slight bend as you fold slice you can get south of the Mason dixon line! So if you're looking for a good time I definitely reccomend this place as I will be coming back!!!

This establishment has one of the rudest managers that I have had to speak with. As once regular patrons, I was told “food cannot just be remade because you failed to specify what you wanted and I have to recharge you”. This was after I explained that in the many times we have visited and spent money with them, our food had never once been prepared the way she had prepared it. She then went on to argue with me on how the food is always prepared the same way— implying that I was falsifying information. Never have I been treated the way this manager treated me. First and last time as we will not be back; I absolutely hate to say it, but this “manager’s” true prejudice showed today.

The drinks were good and seemed to be priced well. The food was good but not a lot for the price. I like that it's such a mix of games, bar, food, and brewery(to come). I hope it remains a decent place for families during the day and a respectful, relaxed and fun adult energy at night. That's the vibe I got and I loved it. Oh! The seperate covered outside bar gives you oprtions and makes the place, for sure. Edit: I just visited a second time and I must have ordered the wrong thing the first time because everything I ordered was so amazing and so filling with pretty big portions. If you get the Spinach dip, ask for chips with it. The pita points are lame and you only get a few.

Service was horrible, the bartenders at both bars almost paid no attention, and my draft beer was poured, full glass of foam and she sat it down waited for the foam to rest topped it off and gave ot to me... I ordered an amaretto sour for my wife she wouldn't even drink it... maybe learn how to pour a beer from the tap of you are a bartender, on the place in general, the jukebox had a 20 day warning to the owner... the ATM was unplugged and turned around d... the place looks as of it was closing down. 3 stars because the at least the crowd was friendly and willing to chit chat about anything.

Went there once and had great time, good pizza, Hawaiian pizza had pretty cheap toppings tho. Tonight we ordered some pizzas and wings for to go…., I don’t what happened to the place within a week but this pizza is soft, way undercooked, the meatballs topping…I can’t even put my words together(considering I’ve got that pizza before and that not what their meatballs looked like lol) The wings were overly soggy, just threw them out, medium sauce overloaded with curry. Not sure what to make of the place. Such opposite experience.

Had a lot of fun there tonight for the first time since reopening. From what I remember about Phoenix they had great lanes and I had one of my best games in Jacksonville bowling there back in the day. As a bowler, the lanes were the worst I have ever bowled on since reopening. I have never seen a lane curve with a spare ball as much as they did tonight. I couldn't even use a strike ball because it went into the gutter 40 feet down the lane. Cool atmosphere, but oil the lanes a few times a day and I will be there every week.

This place is ALWAYS a blast. Kristen in the whiskey bar (last night any way) and Shannon may be my favorite bartenders in jacksonville. Excellent pizza, good wings, stellar boos selection(did I mention they have a whiskey bar?), and the bowling is fun. If you haven't been, you gotta give this place a try. Karaoke bar, whiskey bar, outside bar, sooner or later they'll have a brewery working. If this place was a woman, and I was younger and way better looking, I would serenade her until she called the cops.

Came here for bowling and bar date night. Finding it was a little confusing since you have to drive around back to get to the front. The food was very good and a big serving so if you think you’ll get a small basket of nachos think again. The drinks were nice and went bowling. Unfortunately our lane kept messing up and stopped halfway through. The staff did offer us a new lane once the other party (who were finishing up) left but we were so tired anyways. Very nice atmosphere.

The woman up front was very snotty and rude. We had a reservation for 12 people to celebrate my birthday. The volume of the football game was so loud we LITERALLY couldn't hear each other. Our lanes were directly under the speaker so we asked if the sound could be turned down a little bit... she said no... then went to hang out with friends at the bar. We had another woman give us a refund and went to Batts.... no issues there at all. We won't be returning to Phoenix.

The place needs an upgrade! The lanes kept acting funny so we had to keep getting someone to fix them. The variety of balls are slim to none. The atmosphere is not for me! It's dark and solemn! The service was okay for the most part. I didn't try the food so I don't know what it taste like. I didn't even order a drink because I was so frustrated with the lanes I didn't want to take my chances. I wouldn't go here unless your old and have absolutely anything else to do!

I like this place and have been several times. A bad review goes to the bartender that worked on the whiskey bar tonight that does not know how to make an old fashioned. She did not muddle the orange and the cherry at all. She put simple syrup and whiskey IN A SHAKER AND SHOOK IT WITH ICE.. then strained into a small Mason jar.. plopped a cherry in and placed an orange wedge on the edge if it... God help me.. not to mention the was $9 too.

Reasonably priced, great pizza, and good atmosphere! They have a wide variety of liquor BUT they don't have Hennessy (hopefully they will see this post and add it). My friend had a open bar tab. They couldn't find it at one point in time while we were there. They eventually got everything taken care of and she was not over or under charged. I'll definitely pay as I go from now on. I do plan to go back soon.

Went to go bowling and have a couple beers to relax. Service was great but the price for three beers was $22 which i thought was a bit high. The actual bowling lanes were absolutely miserable. The amount of dust on the floor is a serious hazard that almost caused us to slip and fall multiple times. Additionally one of the lanes broke when we were there and caused us to have to switch lanes mid game.

Phoenix. It's a everyday hangout bar inside and outside for you smokers.... with a bowling alley. But the bowling alley is under construction at this time but will open soon.. Mean while the pizza is very tasty,, chicken wings,, meat balls,, Nachos with cheese,,, etc.. then on Friday and Saturday they have karaoke night.. so if you can carry a note come by and drop some singing on the crowd. :)..

I had a party planned here for 15 people in July. They called me 24 hours beforehand to cancel saying they didn’t have any lanes working. They just said sorry nothing we can do. They did not offer to move it to the bar or compensate in any way. I had to scramble on a Sunday night to find a new location to host for 15 people in under 24 hours notice for a surprise party. Top golf rescued us.

Had a great time tonight, nice drinks and decent snacks. We had the chance to bowl after waiting for another party to wrap up their game. Really cool place to hang and I’d love to come back in, I do hope they put the work into getting the rest of the lanes operational in the future. I think this place deserves more attention but it could use some work to get back to a former glory.

Update: food is amazing!!! Definitely an awesome place to go to. The ambiance very different and welcoming. Plenty of things to do between bowling, pool, and of course drink and eat. Watch football with your friends. Definitely a must stop in.... Put it on the list folks. Definitely try their brew. They do a great job with it.... Update ... Nothing to tell. Still good results....

Great for date night have fun bowling or sit at the bar. Lots of big tv's probably great for watching the games on. Wouldn't plan on trying to eat a decent meal here just kinda like gas station food but a very great bar. Decent prices on everything. Music is very loud and changes genres every song. Designated smoking area with a bar and tables and tv's. Everyone is very nice.

From Day1 of opening till now the food has been mediocre. The service just keeps getting worse and worse unless you like a neglectful, rude and snotty bartender. Filthy bathrooms and the parking lot might cause underbody damage on your vechile. Such a shame that the management has allowed what could've been a great place great turn into another neighborhood dump.

I was so amazed 995 for 10 chicken wings everywhere else is like 16 17 dollars for chicken wings for 10 and a good the funny thing is they only have two lanes open all the other ones are broken but it's a great place to have a couple drinks and enjoy your time with your friends and family I love that they have a karaoke section of the bar and the outside open bar

I went late night by myself because I was starving and everywhere else nearby was closed. I just so happened to stumble up on a .75 wing weds! I relocated about a month ago from Va and when I walked in this spot I felt like I was back home. It was really cute and cozy and I had a super dope bartender name Kat. The wings were delicious. Definitely going back!

The Phoenix is a quirky bar that was made from a bowling alley. The lanes still work and patrons can bowl a few games while drinking, eating, and karaoking. It has a very country dive bar feel, but a younger clientele. The staff is friendly and the drinks are well-poured. Pro Tip : If you order the nachos, bring some friends, the portions are HUGE.

A place that is both suited for your drinking needs, and your taste buds. The chef Amber prepared a special pizza for us, not listed on the menu, that was AMAZING. The bartender Hunter is down to earth and hold a great conversation. My wife and I could not of hoped for a better night out. Next time we'll try the bowling lanes that are available.

Love the atmosphere, food is great, drinks are awesome, music is great! The only drawback is of 12 bowling lanes only three are operational and even then, one of the three had to be worked on at least 6 times while we were bowling. It took close to 2 hours to bowl one game with 5 people. Luckily we all enjoyed the time and weren't in a hurry.

I’ve had my birthday party here the last 3 years and every time my friends and I have a wonderful time! Between bowling, karaoke, and pool, you definitely won’t get bored! The staff are always friendly and helpful! Sami, Bill, Victoria, and Lou are great! Thank you so much for always taking care of me and my friends!

The place was dead for a Monday night, which we didn't mind one bit! Our only issue was the food. Not good at all! Didn't enjoy the wings, pretzel or spinach artichoke dip like we used to. Food quality seemed to be poor this evening, but everything else was good. Service was good and we had fun anyways.

Friendly staff great atmosphere. Several separate rooms/ areas with lots of and amazing unexpected taxidermy. lots of wood. Bison and moose. Fun time. A wide assortment of people but all smiling. Kareoke room was cute. Restroom were clean and supplied. Some very talented singers. Fast moving bar tender.

The bowling alley is nice but it always seems like half of it is closed perpetually. I might just have bad timing and go only when its down. Whiskey bar was cool when I last went but it also closed. Kinda rowdy but nice seating outside if you want to have a drink with friends and chat.

This place was awesome!! The atmosphere made for a great date night of bowling, drinks, and apps. Service was wonderful, and the food was good, but nothing to write home about. The bowling alley itself was definitely dated, and the floors were too slippery. Overall, great experience!

Really cool place. Glad to see it back after all these years and in much better shape. The outdoor bar is really nice, and the inside seems nice too though I didn't spend much time inside. Staff were very friendly. They also had dollar pizza slices, so you can't go wrong there.

Between the whiskey bar, karaoke, bowling and the regular bar, there's something for everyone. Eric at the karaoke bar is awesome, service in the bowling alley for food was great. Lots of TVs and best of all, non-smoking. Pizza was really good. I will be back no doubt.

I love the outside bar. Billy is an awesome bartender. And the steak sandwich was probably the best "philly" I've ever had. It smelled so good that after I got mine, billy ordered one. Wish they had more lanes open, but seems to be one open every time I have gone.

Replace your bowling lanes. Open brewery and whiskey room. Fix your parking lot clean it up redo the front of building caving in. Sure that would help with business. ATM ?? pile of picnic tables get rid of them and pile concrete. Redo floor. But pizza is great.

Great environment, cheap drinks($5 ipa and house tequila)! Great service from the bar at the bowling lane!!!!!!Lots of balls to choose from and great background about the building for the past 100 years!!! Will be a regular sport now!!! Highly recommend!!!

Ok so it looks cool inside but this thing hadn't been updated since 1973. The balls are destroyed. The lanes are warped and floor to bowl on has zero grip. By far the worst lanes I have ever bowled on. Come here for drinks and music not for the bowling.

If you want to bowl don't go there. Only 3 lanes semi work out of the dozen or more there. Pretty much all that's left is a couple bars and food. Both decent. Good place to hang out and chill, as long as bowling isn't actually something you want to do

4 or 5 different bars all with a slightly different atmosphere and the food is out of this world (chicken wings in particular). Would have been 5 stars if a certain bartender didn't go out of her way to fabricate lies to try and ruin someone's night.

I’m here every week. It’s a fun place to chill with fam, friends, or girlfriend & boyfriend. The food is on point hot and tasty. The staff is amazing. After a long hard day at work this is my fav spot. They already know what I always order. ♥️

Phoenix bar has an atmosphere with a bunch of amazing people. The warm ambience only transcends the ideology of what the owner seems to embellish. Eff Olive Garden, when you are there, you're family. Best place ever Ohh. And they have bowling

I’ve been here twice and I love it. The staff is friendly! Their drinks are good & priced fare. They have karaoke and a pool table and a lot of bars. Only thing they need to improve is to get us a book to choose the karaoke music out of lol

Westside at it's best! Cool dive bar. Very diverse crowd. As far as bowling, just use house ball's. The lanes could use oil!!!!! I'm an avid bowler and wish they would oil the lanes. Will definitely be going back. For the music and drinks!

Could be a great place staff was friendly drinks were well priced. The downside the drunk punks that got smart with me and my wife good luck with growing and keeping new customers when you let the local regular drunks run off new patrons

We love this little gem! Great atmosphere with awesome staff. A refreshing leap away from corporate feeling family entertainment! I haven't tried the karaoke bar, but we will soon! Also, we always leave with a big order of tasty wings.

Everyone really enjoyed this place. I appreciated the vegan options that was had and I do look forward to going again. I did have the mashed cauliflower but honestly that's my only complaint. It was pretty un seasoned and flavorless.

This place was pretty cool. It's decorated awesome. There are motorcycles hanging from the ceiling and a train box car near the outdoor bar. I had so much fun bowling there. Definitely coming back. Even better with friends.

Was GREATLY surprised to see that someone created a GEM out of the first bowling alley I bowled in as a child. Wonderful experience in the multiple bars and bowling alley. It was an awesome birthday party spot!

I loved it the people were friendly. The food was good. It was my sister birthday and we really enjoyed our self. But if you are Christian maybe you shouldn't go cuz there is alcohol. Just my opinion …

Had a great time. Fantastic atmosphere. Miles was our bartender. She is top notch. Very sweet and great at conversation. Had us laughing all night. Chicken wings were cooked perfect and had a nice flavor.

Great time at The Phoenix good drinks and good pizza! Bowling was awesome and a great environment. We were helped every step of the way and the waitresses and front desk staff was awesome!

Great atmosphere. Bar is divided into smaller areas each with it's own bar. I've only had the pizza and cheese nachos and both were great. Wait staff and bartenders were very attentive.

I just am not that big of a fan of the place. Shots are watered down and the prices for them are outrageous! The bowling alley sucks. Let's just be real lol. The pizza is ALWAYS good.

It was a great experience. My stepdad had a family and Social gathering there for my diseased stepbrothers birthday. I had a philly cheese steak calzone it was delicious.

Me and the hubby love this place!! Its our go to spot to unwind and enjoy some awesome drinks! And don't get me started on the pepperoni pizza rolls they are to die for!

I never knew this place existed! The atmosphere was great… people were very friendly, their drinks were awesome! Oh and the food was very good as well!!

We had our office Christmas party here and it was a blast. The staff (Brandy the bartender), the bowling manager, the DJ, and everyone was excellent.

The bowling was fun. You can play pool, the drinks are good. As well as the food. So if you're ever in town and wanna go out for fun time this is it.
