I would give Leicester Thrifty car hire zero rating, if there is any option for zero. Absolutely worst customer service by their staff and specially branch manager, he shouldn't be working as branch manager, as he doesn’t have any skill how to treat their customer. My company allocate them to give me a company car, they deliver me at home but after 2 days I find out its faulty. After long phone conversation and westing my valuable time they couldn't help me, so I went to their branch, after 40 minutes of waiting they exchange me a car which is small size, but my company allocate me medium size car. Branch manager says they don't have any other car. And no apology from him. Disgusting customer service. Save yourself the trouble and go with a different car hire company unless you enjoy unnecessary stress, questionable vehicles, and feeling like you're being taken for a ride—pun intended.

Absolutely shocking service! I booked for a rental online weeks ago. The booking was confirmed, I received a reference number AND the funds were withdrawn from my account. On the day of the start of the rental, I rang the company on my way there to confirm they had the vehicle, and they stated that there is no booking! After a bit of explaining, the booking form was found, but the car in question was not available. I agreed for a different car. I arrived at the shop with all my paperwork - which wasn't accepted for reasons I've never come across before, and at 5.30pm, I left the location with no vehicle and a refund receipt. I then had to ring around other places for a rental. Thank goodness Green Motion came to the rescue with a beautiful vehicle!

Unreliable service, liars & poor customer service. Don't book with them, you will lose your money! August 2019: Booked a 8 seater car over a month in advance. 24 hours prior collection day I received an email to say "we look forward to seeing you tomorrow for collection", then 2 hours prior to collection I got a call to say no car available so don't bother coming in & will get full refund. I called the Headoffice & complained. It took them ages to come back with confirmation by which time I had booked with another company. They did not refund me as advised. When I took matters forward, the Headoffice lied about the entire situation. They are still sitting on my money.

Called in to Thrifty on Thursday afternoon. I thought there was no-one in reception, and called out "Hello" a few times. No answer. Stood waiting and after a few minutes a make youth then came out from behind the screen, saw me, ignored me and then walked out through the rear office door without acknowledging me. He then proceeded to walk put through the main vehicle door into the parking area behind and in front of reception. Then he came back, ignored me again, and sat down behind his screen wall again. What a waste of my time this company is... I will never go back to them. One star is one star too many... They deserve to fail on customer service alone. Pathetic.

Never rent a car from this place. Paid £70 online for a ford focus. On collection they never had one, but said i could upgrade for an extra £40 to a golf gti which i thought weren't too bad, total £110. Check my bank a week later to find they charged me £110 for an upgrade, on top of the £70 paid online. Now want to tell me the charge is correct. Poorly trained staff that don't have a clue what they are doing, and give out incorrect information. I'm a regular renter of cars and i can honestly say to avoid this place as there are many others that are 100x better. I will be taking this further with these liars.

Worst hire company I have ever used and I have used a few. Female staff who I dealt with was rude and completely unhelpful. Prices are extortionate too. I have had to hire another van this week and decided to try another company in Leicester who are situated on Fosse Road. Their prices were considerably cheaper and the whole process of hiring and dropping off the vehicle was completed with ease and with helpfulness from all staff. A smile goes a long way. Constructive criticism....... Thrifty need to train staff in customer service and look at their hire charges..... diabolical!!

Really disappointed with this company, a car was rented for me to use as a courtesy car through insurance. When they collected it i was honest enough to point out a bit of paintwork where the seat belt had been caught in the door prior to me using it. Neither me or the guy that dropped it thought to open doors and check for imperfections so after noticing I took a photo with date and time on that day. They've only gone back to the insurance and tried to make a claim so much for being an honest person!

I dealt with them recently through Churchill insurance company. They are pathetic they should have picked up their rental car from my address yesterday and they still haven't been able to pick it up a day later. The guy on the phone says that they on their way to my place and it's been like this for the last 45 minutes. It looks like he's lying because he's about to finish work. No notification. The company is a joke.

Friendly personnel. I was stuck in the traffic and unable to return the van on prearranged time.They let me to return vehicle later with no additional charge. The only inconvenience was that I was given not exactly vehicle I booked but bigger upgrade ( no additional charge ). However I preferred to have smaller vehicle since is easier to manuvre and use less fuel. I definitely recommend this place.

This branch has been amazing. Everything that could of gone wrong for us.. well.. went wrong! But thanks to Zaina (and her team!) the touring holiday was made possible, they all bent over backwards to get what we wanted and couldn’t fault the service when returning the vehicle. Big thank you to the Leicester branch and will always use you again.

Used Thrifty a few times now and the service has been great every time, and they have always made sure to help in any way possible. I'd strongly recommend Thrifty over the other local companies in Leicester, we had specific vehicle requirements which Thrifty did everything they could to provide for us which no other company did at all.

Customer assistant was rude and very impolite, I completely understand that you need to have the right documentation, but I don't expect to be spoken to like a worthless fool, and then questioned if I can afford the deposit like am some sort of peasant this member of staff needs to be trained in customer service.

Racist and distasteful customer service staff. This is including Front Office, Management, Reception and customer service reps. Wouldn't touch them with a pole ever again. There isn't an option of grading them in a minus otherwise I would have, for the sheer insensitivity shown towards paying customers.

Customer service is fantastic! Will offer you the best car available which are always spotless and clean and also cheap! I use to deal with Luke who has left but was a fantastic staff! 4 star because not very helpful over emails but overall would use thrifty any day!

I have used thrifty here for few years now and never had a problem they have always been so helpful with everything and the staff are brilliant Adam and luke have been awesome they have above and beyond to help me would recommend to anybody to try them.

Excellent. I can't praise more highly the people I dealt with here. Professional, friendly, helpful and flexible. Not the most convenient location for me, but I suspect I'll be using them again just for the quality of service.

They kept my 250 pounds deposit for a scratch of 2cm, which was probably already on the car. Their price look attractive but they will steal you with expensive insurances and keeping your deposit for any tiny scratches !

Booked a specific car, only to be told it’s not available and then made me wait a day only to be told the car I wanted is still not there. Avoid. Dreadful service. Customer service is pretty much non-existent.

The guy who delivered my car was very creepy and tried to message me on facebook later on that day. Very unprofessional. Driver turned up to my house in tracksuit bottoms and looked like a homeless person.
