"Their Bake & Salt fish is by far, yummy"

"DO NOT EAT HERE! The food is not worth the attitude"
Their Bake & Salt fish is by far, yummy. Although honestly, sometimes there is barely any fish in there. Their food variety is great. They open very early & that means you can grab a porridge or bakes before work or school. The only complaint I have is that there is 1 lady, very rude! Rude & slooooow, & you MUST watch her as she fixes your order or she WILL get something wrong! She is usually the early morning person. She is the slimmer, dark-skinned lady. She is their only downfall as far as I can see. There is another lady who is sooo pleasant & efficient. If only everyone had her customer service skills! I hope someone reads this & addresses her because she is doing them a disservice. She told my husband today to open his mouth because she was unable to hear him...how rude is THAT??? She needs to be trained or fired!!
Feel like I'm eating a oil filled pone. Very greasy . I'm so disappointed. I waited two weeks for this. If I was pregnant my kid would have a birth mark. 1/22/19 I'm beginning to think someone went back to Guyana with the recipe book... I'm starting to think that this place is falling off? I'm starting to think that this place is using cheap ingredients! I'm starting to think that this place is giving me their leftovers! Either that or someone can't bake! The knife my husband use to cut the coconut roll would not go through the roll. It was literally hard as a rock. There is nothing worse than traveling far from your home to purchase one of your favorite foods only to be disappointed.
This month I had the pleasure to experience the most tasty tam sauce to go along the perfectly made egg ball I bought That was made freshly for me and friend that took ten mins . Another late night after being hungry from doing a customer hair I purchased the mac & cheese pie ; which tasted good and hearty . The sauce wasn’t the same taste that day but salmon cake tasted just as good as last time . Would recommend you to try this bakery for a late night snack . I will be back seeing how I was told they make fresh bread every day which is a good thing to be doing for this area . affordable prices for the items I bought btw .
This place is nice, clean and the they have a good setup but I didn't particularly enjoy any of the food. I sampled a variety, the Curry beef, roti, puri, polourie, veg Chowmein, fish cake and egg ball. Then bought a bag of whole wheat tennis roll. Spent over $50 and was not happy. A lot of the food lacked flavor, texture was good but it was not quite there. They forgot to pack my tennis role and I had to go back the following day to get it and they gave me white not wheat. I don't plan to return but thought I would try out my fellow Guyanese. I will stick with Linda.
DO NOT EAT HERE! The food is not worth the attitude. I've come in a few times over the past few years and EVERY time I try and get a bake saltfish (dry, btw), I encounter the rude short baldhead lady (the darker one). She never smiles to customers unless she knows them and doesn't miss an opportunity to be sassy. It's because of HER, i will NEVER be back to chance another dry bake saltfish. and watery porridge. Two of my other friends have also vowed to not come back because of this person....
Tota's Bakery in Crown Heights on Utica Ave Between St. Johns/ Lincoln Place has been in Business Over 25yrs, The Bake/Fried Fish is worth Tasting, order like 3-5 Sandwiches Breakfast Style eating Caribbean Style of Food Hard Dough Bread/Slices is the quick morning pick up butter toast +Tea/Coffee, Chedder Cheese and Toast oh we now your eating right. Sweetness is my weakness You Have to try the current rolle order 3-5 Trust me on that Option Please
Food is not consistent, the price is outrageous an it also changes every two days depending on who serves you. ( like the money going in their pockets) The old staff who were aware of everything need to come back. There were two Trini ladies who were respectful an organized. Then I believe the owners grandson was also on top of things. The older ladies there now don’t know anything and food taste old at times.
Never lucky to get a fresh currant roll or a piece of pone here, but tried my luck today. Saturday morning service was Awful as usual and pastries were dry, hard, stale not fresh and a waste of my money. I just put it all in the garbage. Should have delivered it back to the unpleasant old woman that sole it to me. Never going there again and neither is my family. Forced to put one star but it’s a zero for me.
The taste of the currant rolls here are not consistent. Over the years I can tell they changed bakers. I even asked one day, and they said yes, they changed bakers. I still buy it though. I ordered food from here twice. I find it to be overcooked and oily. The macaroni pie has a unique taste to it. It's just too oily. It's an okay bakery.
I dont know where to start but i must say I've been going to this restaurant/bakery for years & love the staff they are so pleasant & i always make sure i get my roti .. Thats a must!!! So if you in Brooklyn & in the crown heights area make sure you get one .. They have curry beef, curry chicken & curry goat roti …
I've been coming to Tota's for years. They have some of the best butter bread I've ever had. My elderly mom will only eat this bread and no other. She also loves the soups here and I love all the food especially their roti, the flavors/spices are amazing. Definitely give them a try if you're in the neighborhood.
Very unreliable as a delivery option. Not bad if you walk in. On seamless they will randomly cancel your order. I had month of good experiences with them But something seems to have Gone wrong since Fall 2020. If you can walk in, do it. Avoid ordering delivery from them. Seemless or Uber.
Not satisfied At All. I stopped by last night for a cup cake they had a so called Big cup cake darn thing was way to dense or stale. Either way it was the worst cupcake I've ever had. Maybe this wasn't a specialty of theirs. I won't go back to find out.
I love Tota's Bakery! They have all sorts of West Indian dishes, first words, vegetarian dishes, bacon sausage, oatmeal, cornmeal Parrish, bake and saltfish, Etc. And there's always a short line to get their good food with quick service.
First time stopping in and got curry shrimp with rice, vegetables and added a side of plantains. The price was a bit more than I thought but somewhat expected with a seafood dish. Everything was very delicious and had large portions.
Well totas standard has dropped her tennis rolls at one time I bought was raw and another time two days later and the tennis roll got really hard and dry I used to love going there for bread and tennis rolls now i don't know anymore
DO NOT EAT HERE!!!! I REPEAT DO NOT EAT HERE. I got three orders of oxtail rice and peas for me and my family we all have food poisoning. I got it Sunday night and it’s now Tuesday and I still don’t feel good do not eat here.
had a great late night bite and pastry there last night

The food here is great! Terrific comfort food. But the real secret is thw bread its freshly baked and you can get it sliced or un sliced. The bread goes great with morning coffee ☕
The food here is really good! If you love jerk chicken like I love jerk chicken. You need to visit this place. Also their mac&cheese is beautiful, amazing and just off the hook!
Spend $28.00 on two coconut bread 4 currant slice and 2pk tennis rolls coconut bread fall apart and and taste disgusting. Threw away everything as soon as I got off the 46 bus.
Tota's has a great amalgam of West Indian cuisine. The staff is always polite. The only frustrating thing is trying to order over loud music. I wish they could turn it down.
these are the best salmon cakes I've had in my life.

The food was ok and over priced, the servers was very unprofessional, the old staff was very nice and professional, and the food was better and not over priced.
They have jerk chicken on the grill right outside. Smells great, music is indeed too loud, seating is minimal, so expect to carry-out. The food is solid.
Their foods are excellent, both in quality and portion. The staff is professional and friendly . I definitely get value for my money at Tota's.
opens late night with scrumptious hard to find Caribbean delicacies and dishes!!

The server watched me as she served me 4 cucumber slice sized pieces of oxtail. This along with the rice was no wear near worth $15.
They have delicious currant rolls, porridge, and saltfish and bakes. Service is personal and always with warmth and a smile.
Great customer service from Larna, nice tasting breakfast. I suggest you try the corn meal porridge with salt fish and bake.
The cashier's pleasant personality is what keeps me coming back . And their currants rolls are to die for! And the parang !
Real guyanese food and that's all I ask for. Didn't feel rushed to make my order. Had social distance rules in place
Zero stars very unprofessional and unwelcoming, terrible customers service will not be buying from ever again.
Overcooked rice and the goat chicken tasted alright. Next time I’ll try the baked goods rather than the food.
Been goin here since they were across Lincoln.....mini patties and Butter Bread always a go to....
Food was good but a large oxtail order shouldn’t come with only 6 pieces. That’s just ridiculous.
Bakes is definitely something you should try in the morning it has a good price and delicious
Food not good. Rolls used to be good. Everything else is like leftovers
