"I've had 3 out of 3 incredibly positive experiences with this little station: 1"
"The worst ! I have a package there that been there for 4 days now"
"It's really annoying to have a mailman state that he "delivered" a package or left in the mailbox and nothing was left"
"I don't love the system, which has you ring a bell by a closed window and then wait"
"The drivers never deliver your packages on said date"
I've had 3 out of 3 incredibly positive experiences with this little station: 1.) A package I sent was undeliverable and taken back to this location because the recipient forgot to tell me their apartment unit. I called, and the phone was answered by the 3rd ring. The gentleman who answered put me on hold after I gave him the tracking number of the package. I didn't expect him to come back to the phone, bc we've all been conditioned to expect that when we call the USPS. After 2-3 minutes, he came back and said he went through every single package and suspected that it was already being processed for return to sender (me). He suggested I send out a replacement. 2.) The replacement package was not delivered bc the recipient was never home, and so was brought back to this annex for the recipient to pick up. She did not want to go pick it up, so I called—and the gentleman who answered assured me it would be sitting in the annex waiting for me to pick up, or until it was time to return to sender. In the meantime, the first package ended up being delivered to the recipient because when I 3.) went to pick up the replacement package, the young woman at the window told me that the carrier probably recognized the name on the first one and knew which unit to deliver it to! (And it did get there.) Then, the woman stepped away from the counter after I told her the package recipient's last name. I expected her to disappear and not come back, because it's what happens over at Cadman. But in less than 15 seconds, she was back at the window with my package! Each person I interacted with was so nice and courteous, and each person went above and beyond to help solve my issues. This place has one window which handles drop offs and pick ups only, so there is no line. Five star postal annex!
The worst ! I have a package there that been there for 4 days now. The first day it was delivered to this office I went in person since the the delivery history shown the package was specifically delivered here. I rang he bell and got help from someone and asked him to look up my package he then looked for it and said it wasn’t at the office that it might be in the track in route to my house. He calls the delivery lady and she says she don’t have any of my package ??!!!!! AND NOW IS 4 days is been there and still they haven’t delivered my package. The package said “scheduled to be delivered Friday around 8pm” .. the package never came. Then I check the USPS site and it says “scheduled for Monday which is today at the same time” is 9:43 now -.- and I still haven’t gotten anything delivered when I literally live 5 blocks away from the facility!!!!!! How is it I still have to wait another day for me to receive a package that been in my near by facility. TERRIBLE ! UNPROFESSIONAL!
It's really annoying to have a mailman state that he "delivered" a package or left in the mailbox and nothing was left. Then you have to go through changes to find your package. A covering mailman left the package outside the mailbox and it was stolen instead of placing inside the mailbox, bringing it to me or taking it back. Why would this mailman leave a package unattended? It becomes such an issue because the sender says once it's delivered, it's delivered they can't refund you. Can't blame them when the mailman doesn't do there job correctly! They need to stop saying it's delivered when it's not! or leaving it with neighbors when you have no clue that it was left! When I go to the annex ( when I get a notice that the mail was not delivered), and mail may not be found because the mailman doesn't bring it back even the notice says to pick it up at the annex. (Then I have to through a complaint to get my package) They need to be trained better their service is not free.
I don't love the system, which has you ring a bell by a closed window and then wait...and wait...and wait. It feels like being in a Kafka story: you start to wonder whether the bell actually rang anywhere or if you are part of some sick psychological experiment. Despair starts to set in. That said, I had a rather extraordinary experience in which a package went missing, I left my name and phone number scribbled on a piece of paper with the clerk--and then SHE CALLED ME to tell me they'd found it. I was gobsmacked because they actually followed through and found me my missing package. I was very, very pleased to know that despite the soul-crushingly impersonal feeling of the place, an actual person had gone out of their way to help me and succeeded.
The drivers never deliver your packages on said date. Then when they finally do show up they always claim that they could not access the building as an excuse. Poor excuse for the USPS. They should hire drivers that wish to earn their paychecks. Had to go in person to finally pick up my package after 3 days of waiting at home. This is what I received after waiting 3 days for package of waiting for driver from 8am to 8:30pm. Now they expect me to be home an entire day again. Hello Ramon Alvarez, Your package has a delivery exception. We attempted to deliver your package at 7:25 pm on April 27, 2020 in BROOKLYN, NY 11217 but could not access the delivery location. We will redeliver on the next business day.
Horrific!!!! Tired of the mail carrier saying they left my package or the orange slip in my mailbox. When it is clearly not there!!! Where's my mail?? I don't think the package leaves the post office. I have asked the carrier "where's my package" and was told "I don't have it." So something told me to go look in my mailbox an half an hour later and the package magically appeared once questioned about it. If you dont like being a mail carrier, then quit!!! People out here will be happy to deliver the mail. All I am asking is for the mail carrier to do his/ her job!!!! And, to not lie about doing it!!
Worst USPS office. Constantly has a sign in the window on different days and times that says they “closed early” completely unreliable. Staff moves at a snails speed after ringing the bell for drop off/pick up. They also have borderline refused to scan my packages when asked. At one point had a bin in place of someone taking packages that was completely unsupervised and could Easily have had been stolen from. Who ever is in charge of keeping this office up to date is doing a horrendous job and should be fired
If you’re lucky enough to go there and have someone answer the bell for service (about a 7% chance anyone is around, even during their scheduled hours) you will still have an awful time. This particular location and the USPS as a whole are horrific. All in all a massive waste of tax dollars, throwing the USPS annual budget in a bonfire would be a better use of money.
Currently outside, arrived 10 minutes ago at 2:45 pm, and door is locked even though they are suppose to be open until 3pm. So ridiculous that they are never opened at the advertised hours, especially when this is just for package drop-off and pick-up. There’s a line of people outside just trying to drop off their package and phone line not working.
As other reviewers have said, do not drop your returns here or anything in a return box. Dropped mine off on August 8, it was only scanned on August 15 and it never made it’s way back to the retailer (it’s still “in transit” one month later). Although I got my refund back from the retailer, there’s certainly something sketchy going on here.
As others have said, hours are inconsistent due to staffing issues. They don't ever seem to be open past 5:30 on weekdays, even when the sign says they're open until 7pm. When you call to try to get someone to answer the door and ask why they're closed before their posted closing time, all you get back is bad attitude.
Dropped a package off a week ago , the person inside saw the label which said jewelers in the name for delivery address and looked at me funny , guess what a week later now my package mysteriously still says “label created” that’s all nothing else, this place is catching a lawsuit. They def messing with the right one.
Perfect for dropping off pre-labeled packages without having to wait in line at the post office. Enter through the door that says "Package Pick Up" and enter the first door on the right. Extremely quick and easy. Beats the post office by a mile. There are NO PACKAGING SERVICES here so you have to come prepared.
Staff here is very friendly and dependable in my experience. I’ve mailed hundreds of packages here over the past few years and exactly 1 has been lost, a better record than UPS or FedEx. They are unfortunately closed later in the day early at times recently due to budget cuts by Louis DeJoy.
First experience at this Post Office Carrier Annex & it went very smoothly! UPDATE: Took another chance & after this time I’m not doing back here. They close early at will b/c of understaffing and packages moved slowly through the system from here. It’s like playing Russian roulette.
I left work early so I could get here before it closed, and they had already closed, even though I was here at 6:40. Completely unacceptable. The woman on the phone line gave me attitude for being annoyed that everyone left half an hour early
Employees do not follow the closing times listed. They close their doors at will anytime from 15 mins to an hour before their scheduled closing time. Always call ahead and ask whether or not they are still open and still servicing customers.
Terrible! I called in the morning to discuss a redelivery incident since my package was suppose to be REDELIVERED yesterday and it wasn’t delivered. I was addressed on the phone with SO much attitude from the very start! So rude. If you’re
There is no clear sign so I walked there once and brought my package back. They only take package with prepaid return slip. You have to walk through the door, turn right and ring the bell. A little weird. The staff seems having dinner ( at
**Usually** a solid place to drop off prepaid packages in the neighborhood - allowing me to avoid the long lines at the Fulton Adelphi usps. They workers at this USPS Annex ‘closed for lunch’ and don’t come back to reopen for over an hour.
This USPS isn't reliable. It is 1020AM and they still aren't open when their hours on the door state 10AM. Given they tend to close early and go for lunch that makes it very hard to find a consistent time when they will be around.
You would have a better chance of convincing Joe Manchin to use clean energy than this location being open when you show. Please hire more people or reduce your hours. It’s getting ridiculous.
They close when they want to. Just went there at 6:30 pm door locked. Called and they said they’re closed because they’re busy doing something else. Unprofessional and rude employees
I use this location for dropoffs and have not had an issue yet. It’s USPS - so yeah your package may fall off the edge of the earth - but I have had only good experiences so far.
Being “out to lunch” is an absurd reason for a USPS to close. A business should staff the appropriate amount of employees so that they remain open during their open hours.
I went there yesterday and they said they were out for a break and wouldn't be back till 4:15. I went today and they don't give receipts for dropoffs. ♂️ …
Really the most unreliable service you can get. Every interaction I’ve ever had had been rude. It’s a pickup or drop off window that’s always met with rudness.
The gentleman working the pick up window at 2et on the day of this review was the epitome of kind and just wanted a place to recognize it!
This isn’t a real post office, just a drop off center. They can’t do anything for you if you need a box or for a label to be printed.
Have trekked here multiple times only to find they’re short staffed and closing early. Would appreciate them changing hours on here.
You could’ve just mentioned that somewhere, ANYWHERE before I headed out on a friday eve through a storm to drop off a package
30 minutes of them trying to find my package and counting… Reasonable spot for dropping off prepaid packages - that’s it.
Worst USPS drop-off/pick-up location in the neighborhood! They always close early or take long breaks during open hours.
Do NOT go here! This place doesn’t even have capabilities to print labels - what a joke. Also severely understaffed.
THEY ARE NOT A FULL SERVICE POST OFFICE. They do offer quick package pickup though. Always friendly. Never a wait.
It’s 6:08pm and I’m here at their door. They closed early due to short of staff. Definitely do not open till 7pm.
Completely ridiculous! Plus packages will be dropped off and weeks later not even scanned.
worst pick up OR delivery place in the ENTIRE country. If I could would give them a 0.
Don’t waste your time. Closed for lunch at 4:56 pm on a Friday.
