AVOID THIS POST OFFICE! I've only given this post office 1 star as 0 isn't an option. Firstly, the staff in here are beyond rude, the girl taking my parcel was just on the phone without having any regard for my instructions. When she did decide to speak to me she mumbled her words so I couldn't understand a word she was saying. Secondly, I'm almost certain they charged me the incorrect amount how can a small parcel cost £11 to be sent first class. I honestly wish I was lying, how can a business operate like this?!? Having checked the other reviews out it seems like other people have experienced similar problems. Very rarely do I get annoyed by poor customer service however this was just ridiculous. I said to the young girl I'd like to send it second class instead then, but she just kept saying I'd agreed to send it first class. We must have gone back and fourth for about 2 minutes before I just told her to take the stickers off the parcel and give it me back. I post things regularly and know the pricing structure. I'm genuinely not the type of person to write things like this about businesses and I often just let things slide as I'm not that bothered but this was genuinely shocking! Avoid this place and go to the other post office on smithdown.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS - it only got one star because 0 wasn't an option. i've just seen the two previous reviews and now mine, all 3 years apart and all exactly the same. I own a small business and post daily, both uk and worldwide. I spend a good £70 a week posting items and what do i get? two rude arrogant staff members. I have cycled half a mile before to be told I can't put my bike in the corner to post one parcel to Denmark when i forgot my bike lock. I have been told to put my (already) stamped letters (in which i bought the stamps in the shop) in the box outside when it is chucking it down instead of the bag behind the desk. I have been refused by the 'lady' to have a airmail sticker put on my post even though it'd speed my post up and she had them in her book. I have seen the 'lady' sigh and turn around to moan to her accomplice when an OAP about 80 put his pin in wrong. I have seen the male staff member refuse to quote a foreign man on car tax telling him to come back tomorrow to do it as there were 5 people in the queue. They never use mannors, ive been ignored, ive never been asked how i was or how my days been even when i ask them the same question. I now go to the next nearest post office which although it takes longer, its worth it.
I no longer use this post office. I made the decision to take a detour to the Lawrence road post office due to the very rude, ill manored and ignorant middle aged female counter clerk. I'm a business customer and believe I would have been beneficial to their small branch but every time I visited to hand over my 5-20 daily parcels. I was greeted with a cold drop of the shoulders and blatant eye roll. She'd huff and puff as I passed the parcels over and her manor was abrupt and her tone was always unpleasant. I must note, I pre-paid for all of my parcels so all the clerk had to do was pop them in the sack but she seemed to think that was an inconvenience, she'd even refuse parcels that were over paid by 1p even if I said I wasn't bothered. Such a hassle!!! I love the guys in Lawrence road. They saved me from this joke of a business. I can't forget the foreign guy that works there though, he was always friendly and polite and always went out of his way to ask me how my day was. I don't know how he put up with that miserable witch.
I presume this small local sub-post office is the kind which is hanging on by its teeth under the current regime, dependent upon the good will and patronage of the local community. So, eager to help out a small local business I went out of my way to use this post office rather than the bigger, better stocked one at Penny Lane just half a mile away. I cycled down at quarter to five (Thursday 20th September 2012) but managed to forget my wallet, so had to rush back home to get it. Cycled back and got there at 5 minutes to five. Not wanting to miss the Post Office while locking up my bike I took my bike in to the (empty) post office only to be told "No bikes I'm afraid". While locking my bike up in the next road, they closed the shop. I would urge anybody from the neighbourhood to vote with their feet and give the rude, self-important tossers behind the counter the wake-up-call they need.
I wish I had read the below review before setting off on foot in the icy cold to an equally icy cold disappointment. Taking the trouble to check on line at this post offices opening times I found out it closed its doors at 5:30 pm. I arrived at 5:20 pm only to find the shutters down. I called the post office and I was greeted with 3 lies by the post master. 1. "We shut at 5:15 pm." I insisted that the closing time was 5:30 pm to which the post master replied..... 2. "oh wait, sorrry it is 5:20 pm we shut." Again, I insisted that it states 5:30 pm to which the post master replied......... 3. "I am sorry, I had to shut the shop to fix the cash machine." I can only presume that the last statement was a lie, but I am pretty sure. I have not even been to penny lane post office but I am sure it will be far better than this. I will never bother going here again.
This is the worst post office I've ever used. The staff are miserable and act as if you're inconveniencing them by wanting to post a parcel. I asked to send something second class and it came to more than I expected but I'm not overly familiar with how much things cost to post so I thought oh well. Looked at my receipt and the guy had sent it first class. I asked for second!!! I didn't go back because I wasn't hopeful of rectifying the situation. It's also dingy and unwelcoming.
Avoid this one, go to the one further up Smith down! Went in to buy an envelope and send a parcel, got ping ponged round the shop between the two tills, staff watched me buy the envelope, write the address only to be told (after again, traipsing round the shop) that it was closed. This was at 13:08- the last collection time for this post office is 15:00!! Shockingly unhelpful.
I`ve been there on 10.09.2018 around at 7pm when I wanted to buy an envelopment and I asked about the Opening Time. The seller told me: they will open today till.19:30. And I was in hurry back to give up my important letter and I mentioned for him google`s states this post office ,,open till 9PM,, ,he just looked at me surprising. Otherwise he was very kind with me:-)

This Post Office has recently relocated and now has new staff.. I was served by the young attractive lady (Chrissy). I can not praise her enough! The most pleasant and friendly service I have ever received at a post office. A real credit to Ullet Rd and Post Office Ltd.
I have used this new Post Office several times since it relocated to 411-3 Smithdown Road. Service has always been quick, efficient and cheerful. Such a change from the previous location!

This is the worst post office I've ever used. I tried to post 3-4 times but they always send my parcel a higher price than I wanted.
The rudest most unhelpful people in the whole of Liverpool. If they can avoid to work they will. Terrible service across the board
Claims to be open until 9pm. Actually I think this is a fake post office. Rude personnel, closed always before 5pm.
Very friendly and helpful, told me my options for posting so I could choose best value/security/speed of delivery.
Quick, efficient and very friendly service, with suggestions about how to better pack my parcel and pay less!
Gets the job done, but just painful how rude the staff (in particular the lady) are.
