To whom it may concern, Good morning and happy Monday! I hate to start the week out like this but I really do hope that this may actually mend the customer's experience. I prefer not to complain, I would rather suck it up and move on to the next store but this one in particular I did not have a good experience. My friend and I came into your store on a Sunday and it was pretty empty, we started walking around (not once did we get greeted), and went to the sections we knew we needed to pick up a couple things. We continued walking around the same section, looking at the new material and picking up what we knew we came for. I counted 3 employees that simply watched us as we walked around, never offering to help or asking how we were doing. When we did need help, I found two of the employees talking about how long they had to work and what time they were getting off. I politely asked their opinion on which $30 lip gloss they would suggest, one scoffed and the other simply said, “the extreme”. Needless to say, every single employee I came in contact with was less than pleasant. When we finally made it over to the hair care section, we needed help. We were looking for a texturizing powder but only found one, I walked around and looked for an employee to help but no one was to be found. So we walked around looking for another 10 minutes and still, no one came to our rescue. We finally grabbed an employee that was leaving for the day (she had her purse) and asked her where we could find another texture powder. We found what we needed and headed to the check out. I rang up a bill of $107 and my friend rang up a bill of nearly $400. Maybe if I had more assistance and your employees had been a little more pleasant, I would have spent more. All I am saying is that if you have customers coming in and spending $100 to $600 in your store, your employees should be a top of the line. Not one time did anyone ask how we were doing, not one time were we asked if we needed help, not one time did I see a single employee smile, and not one time did I feel welcome in your store. This was my first time in this particular store but the friend I was with has been in your store a lot and said that this is the same customer service she receives every time she is there. I truly hope this helps improve your customer experience. Warmest Regards, A Concerned Customer Store we visited: 236 S Sharon Amity Rd, Charlotte, NC 28211
So this is so funny. I came here to leave a review specifically about this store and a particular cashier, because dealing with her has led me to start shipping at a different Ulta. I picked up a curbside order yesterday, and she happened to be the one to bring it to me. But beyond that, I don’t shop at this location anymore. Her name is Tammy. And the reason I say it’s funny, is because when I read the reviews for this location, almost every single time someone mentions a negative interaction with an employee, it is Tammy. And even when they don’t name her specifically, they are referring to her when they say the “old black lady“. She’s just not nice. For me, it started when she tried pushing a credit card on me, and I had to tell her no five times. Ever since that day, I swear she remembers me, and she’s just rude. I did end up taking a credit card when I shopped at a different location, because the person offering it to me was pleasant, and explained how much I would save on that day’s order. Even when Tammy brought my curbside order out to me at my car yesterday, she just has a snotty sense about her. You would think that after so many people have left reviews specifically naming her as a problem, that the store would intervene and either conduct some intensive training, or help her transition into another line of work somewhere else. I’m not saying that I hope for that, because I’m not putting bad karma out there. But, Tammy, what’s your problem? Why are you so nasty? I’ve never noticed anything about you that should give you the feeling of being better than anyone else. I get that you have an attitude problem, and that’s your problem, not the problem of any of the customers who shop in Ulta. So why not just lose the attitude? Because I’m sure one of these days, if it hasn’t happened already, someone’s going to put you right in your place, and you’re really not gonna like it when it happens.
My daughter came to this location with a coupon for 20% off purchase and 20% off a service. She is young and not very comfortable sticking up for herself. She came home furious that her service was cut short and she didn’t get the discount for it that was clearly marked on the coupon. I tried calling the store, and the GM said they were extremely busy and tried to rush me off the phone. I have worked in retail most of my life, so I get the busy holidays, but that’s not an excuse for my daughter to have to accept bad service. She said she couldn’t issue a credit over the phone and that I would have to go up to the store for a credit. They also needed the time stamp of the receipt so they could review the cameras at the register. Still don’t know why that mattered. Got there, and the person behind the counter was trying to explain that even though the coupon says 20% off purchase AND 20% off service, we actually needed a separate coupon for both. Impossible, since there was only the one card sent in the mail. They also tried to explain why it was appropriate that her 75 minute service was much shorter than what my daughter paid for—something about my daughter having sensitive skin. She does not. She uses/experiments with/tries out tons of products all the time with no issues. The rating is a star higher than I would have otherwise put because though her service was short, she enjoyed it while it lasted. This posting is greatly cropped for time. The bottom line is that my daughter spends an embarrassing amount of money at Ulta, but will NEVER be returning to this location. Staff is rude, unhelpful and were completely unapologetic for overcharging her, while explaining how their coupon was apparently not expected to be honored. Yes, they gave a credit. After first creating a giant headache.
I gave this location a few different opportunities to provide me with a good customer service experience, and it has failed every time. This last visit was the last straw. As has been been pointed out in other reviews, the sales staff is generally unhelpful and checkouts take far too long. This last time I wanted to return a $10 item that I had purchased online. I misplaced the receipt and called the store to inquire about their policy. The salesgirl who picked up (after the third phone call, and the 50th ring) said a return without receipt was possible only if I was a rewards customer. When I asked how I would know, she said I needed a rewards card. I didn't have a physical one, so after some pointed questions I discovered that my rewards account could be located with an email address. Considering she was aware that we were discussing an online order, it seems like the salesgirl should have thought of this solution herself. Anyhow - we determined I could do the return, and I headed into the store. After shopping (with no offers from the staff to help, as usual), I presented at the counter with $200 worth of merchandise and got the same girl who picked up the phone. Despite it seeming like a simple transaction, I stood there for 10 minutes. She was unable to figure it out. I waited another 5 minutes (while the cashier stood there staring into space) for the manager to come by and do it in a half minute. Add this to my previous experiences where I have rarely been asked if I need any help, but sales associates will happily "excuse" themselves past me four or five different times to attend to other tasks as I'm looking at a display, and needless to say, I won't be back. I'll limit my Ulta purchases and returns to online transactions from now on. This location needs lots of work.
I came in looking for Bio Oil and Mario Bandescu facial spray. I head to the back seeing a sign that would lead me to believe acne products would be there. What I was looking for was not, so I proceeded to walk all around the store. In that fifteen minute time period, not one employee came to ask me how I was doing or if I needed any help. I finally see someone, an older, slim, blonde, caucasian lady I'd assume in her late 40s (I didn't get her name) pushing a cart to a stand that happened to have a sign for one of the products that I was looking for however not the actual product. I said excuse me and the lady said "uh huh" without even looking at me or really acknowledging me. I then asked her if they carried Bio Oil and in a snappy tone she said, "What is that?" I tried to show her what it was on my phone as she continued to ask (with attitude) who made the product. I showed her and she said "No. We don't have that, sorry. " and turned right back to what she was doing. No suggestions for another product, she didn't ask if there was anything else she could do for me. After I proceeded to the cash register to buy something else. The young lady working the register lacked any enthusiasm and just seemed as if she didn't really want to be there. She asked if I had a rewards number and i didn't. However, she didn't even ask if I wanted to sign up. So that was like an "okay...." moment as well. Overall I was unsatisfied with my experience. I did end up buying something but I will be going back to return the items as I found cheaper alternatives and frankly, don't want to purchase from a store with such horrible customer service. Probably won't be returning.
Location that I visited : 8150 Ikea Blvd #5 Charlotte NC ..So if I could give this Store Zero Stars * I would!!!!..........So Racially Profiled!! My experience tonight was horrible worst ever Enter the store no one Spoke to me at all or asked me if I needed Help, or even said hi or how are you which that's Fine.......So me and my niece were looking at Foundation the White guy with Blonde hair was staring and Rolling his eyes at my niece I'm like WTH are you looking at were not doing anything but looking at Foundations and my niece not Bad she was standing in spot so I said let just leave from. This spot he walks Off HELPING OTHER PEOPLE never asked me if I needed help or why he was staring like we were from a different PLANET so I go on the Higher End Section asked the Lady about the Smashbox Foundation she handed me off to another Lady said she can help you......so I'm like OMG ........so the other lady told my neice it's too hot to be wearing a coat I'm like she just got over being Sick.......I'm like geeshhhh......so I guess she was frustrated and didn't feel like helping me find a Foundation she said I just give you a Sample IM Like "ok" but I don't mind buying two to get my correct color Foundation.....so at this point I'm like WHATEVER let me get out the Store we go to the Counter to Checkout......I noticed everybody was So Dry like they Hated Working there no Direct Eye Contact or thank you for Shopping with us and I Spend BIG MONEY IN ULTA........AND THAT BEING SAID I WILL NEVER SPEND MY MONEY THERE AGAIN THEY LOST A LOYAL CUSTOMER.
I wouldn't even give them one star if I could!!!!!! I will never ever ever support another ulta!! Trust ,I'm good. I went in with intentions of buying quite a bit of makeup.I put a lot back.I will not give you any more money! Anyways... I was walking around trying to find Anastasia and no one asked if I needed anything. Ok fine....no biggy. I finally found it and was trying to make my way over . I have a stroller so it was going to be difficult. TWO...TWO employees and a customer basically cornered me. I had to stop right where I was!!The one said excuse me with the bitchiest voice possible!! Walked right past me with such attitude. It almost sounded like the other employee gave a little chuckle. I couldn't believe that! I was trying to go help myself and she moved me!!!! It wasn't even busy there so what was the hurry! Well then I was ready to check out and the guy up at register looked at me, turned away, and took his time and continued doing what he was doing . He didn't bother .he didn't care to help me.When I went up there I had already had it, and I told him they all should learn to smile!!!! They were extremely rude! I will stick to my pro cards and order online . Maybe because I didn't look up to par,but you have no idea! Ass wholes.
Will not be coming back to this store. The experience while checking out was awful. I greeted the cashier, she asked what my phone number was and I simply asked if I could skip that step. I wish I just left at this point because the lady asked “are you not from around here?” and started a whole big deal of more than 5 minutes saying I should add a phone number and first and last name to get in their program. I said I wasn’t interested probably more than 10 times and she insisted and kept saying I should do it. Not happy she called the other cashier (thinking I couldn’t hear her?) saying “can you please come here and talk her into it, I tried but she won’t do it”. And the other cashier, way nicer, repeated the same things, to which I said “am I obligated to sign up in order to just pay?” and the nice cashier said “no, but it would be better”. I said no thanks, I just wanted to pay. Meanwhile the previous cashier repeatedly insisted, I told her she was making me feel very uncomfortable and she said “oh I’m sorry..but are you sure you don’t want to sign up?”. I eventually paid and left, will not be coming back to this store and highly suggest an intensive customer service and social skills training for that rude lady.
RACIALLY PROFILED !! Tuesday , On August 14th me and my family was harassed inside the store store. We were racially profiled by the employees and the security that worked there. We felt so embarrassed. It was only three of us that were there black . Literally all the employees only asked us “ we we okay “ , “ Do you need any help “, “ Anything you need “ . We felt so uncomfortable that we new what they were trying to do. On top of all the employees following us around being asked how were since we simply just wanted to look around, The security guard followed my mom to the perfume section and told her that you can use the spray tip instead of spraying it in the air. Like sir if it was bothering you that bad the employees could have said that instead of asking how we were so much! Remind you me and my mom both we black with dreads. That is no excuse for us to be followed and asked so many times how were we. Me and my mom are very disappointed. Will not be returning my black money to the store! If thats how were treated. So sad.
The store itself was great but the service made it an overall bad experience for me. The manager or assistant manager on duty tonight was awful. At 8:15 there was a line wrapped around the store. There was makeup artist (who was extremely kind and helpful) who was working on a client, an associate at the register and the mgr/assist mgr on duty. Instead of the manager hopping on a register to move the line along, she proceeds to work on the end of day/ close out processing instead. In fact, after 20 mins in line, I reach the register and she tells the associate, "You need to hurry up so I can close you out." Mevermind it was 8:45 with another person in line behind me and customers still waking in the door. In fact, called back twice beginning at 8:50 to get the name of the MUA so that I could compliment him in this review, but I suppose she was still busy dodging customers. Overall, I found what I was looking for, but the service was horrible.
This place is in need of new management. I overheard the manager being rude to employee. This wasn’t my first visit seeing this type of interaction. You can always tell who’s new. They are happy to be there and up beat. When i return weeks later you can tell the staff has gotten to them.. ULTA SHUFFLE YOUR MANAGERS AROUND OR HIRE SOME NEW Ones… put tammy in the back from what i can see with reviews and ppl who are little more guest friendly up front.. THIS PLACE IS STARTING TO ME MAKE EVEN ME AS A CUSTOMER SAD!!!! OH and i was looking for a perfume and the young lady asked another for assistance an d she stared past her as if she didn’t hear her.. the lady ignoring her does the eyebrow by pink counter.. I was so embarrassed for her… Told her don’t worry abt it i’ll go to bells .. i had never seen someone blatantly ignore or disrespect a coworker.. But if your manager is rude , U can be rude to i guess
Ulta needs to be careful about lying to customers. I was told when making an in-store purchase that I had to give my phone number or I wouldn't be able to return or exchange my products in the future. The cashier said it's company policy that you have to have an account to return something. 1) I'm not boo boo the fool; 2) I'm educated, so she tried it. While companies are free to make their own return policies, I'm not so sure about lying about the policies in order to gain my personal information while making an in-store purchase. They might want to be careful before someone either sues, contacts the BBB, or blasts them on social media for the deceptive means of acquiring information. Mainly because that's not even the return policy stated on the receipt. Side note: the service at that store was trash. People saying they can help but don't know what they're talking about or just never coming back.
Diago (I hope I'm spelling her name correctly) deserves all the credit in the world. She is so enthusiastic and you can tell she really loves helping people there. She assisted me about a month ago with finding foundation. I was unsure about spending so much money on foundation but she gladly sat me down and let me sample japonesque and sure enough I was sold and excited to try a new foundation! It's rare to have an employee that can enlighten an unsure customer on a product and have them be excited about buying it. Every time since then I've came back and have seen her and she is always radiating with happiness and a positive attitude. Keep up the good work girl! The other employees have always been really helpful towards me and I appreciate that there is truly a display of effort in dynamics of the people that are hired which really affirms that make up is for everyone. Thank you guys!
If I could give a negative star I would for the customer service they provide! I told the lady I have a code provided by my Ulta membership & I’ve checked online if they have the product I’m looking for. When she heard I have a coupon, immediately she changed her answer from we do have the product to we don’t due to the high volume of shopping, order it online. When I told her I’ve tried that and that’s the whole reason why I came to the store to get it since I couldn’t do it online because the ULTA website kept crashing, she didn’t listen and just rolled her eyes and left. It took for me to ask for a manager and show her my code and get the product myself for them to even let me get it. I understand it’s holiday season & I wasn’t asking for much besides them to put in the coupon code—the amount of attitude and absolute disrespect for their paying customers is unbelievable.
I am an African American woman and I visited the Ulta Salon for the very first time and was Serviced by Katherine. I am not going to lie this was an impulsive decision and I was a little nervous since I was going to a new salon and I really love my natural hair. However all of my concerns were proven wrong. Katherine really took great care of my hair! She was really gentle with detangling my hair (my natural sisters know how crucial this is.) The shampoo and condition felt great. I opted to for a blow out followed by a flat iron since I only put heat on my hair a few times a year. Since we were pressed for time Chris jumped in to help get me flat ironed and he was a ROCKSTAR! A) for jumping in and helping out with a client that wasn't his B) staying late to help out and C) whatever flat iron he used was magical because the side he did has zero froze and is still so shiny!
This store needs serious help. Completely understaffed and the limited staff that was there was unhelpful and untrained. When I asked the only employee I found on the floor for assistance, she said, "Sorry I'm going to lunch." After waiting for 10-15 minutes I finally got another young lady's help to see if they had my item in stock. She informed me they didn't, but they could do "store to door" for the item, which meant I could order at the register and have it delivered. I got in the line that was so long it went back two isles because there was only one register open. After waiting in line for at least 20 min. I was informed by the woman at the register that she couldn't do a store to door, that someone on the floor would have to do it for me. Needless to say, I spent a good 45 min in the store and left without my item. Super frustrating.
I am all about customer service. As I was checking out, cashier (Meghan) did not give me a proper greeting, she immediately looked down and said "What's your phone number" with a tad bit of an attitude. I informed her that I was not in the system, as it was my first time there. She then went on to mention their rewards program and the benefits of it. I said "No thank you". She went on AGAIN stating that I should really consider because this and that (very pushy and again, in a nice/nasty way). I said "No, I'm okay", she went on and on and said "All we need is your name and number". I was thinking in my head, I don't care what you need, your customer service is horrible and I'm not giving you my number. Again, I said "No, thank you". Finally, she cashed me out and I was able to leave. This was my experience, I hope yours is a little better.
I went to this location the associates mainly for an eyebrow waxing but needed make up too. There was one associate in the make up area assisting one customer. I stood there for a moment waiting for her to take a pause to acknowledge me but didn't. Long story short after about 15- 20 minutes of waiting I finally just went to the register & was told the young lady that does waxing leaves at 7pm & I just missed her. I understand investing time in your customers but please train associates on the floor to know it's ok acknowledge another customer while still assisting the customer you're with. Its apart of retail because I was also interested in finding make up but after being ignored for so long I left & probably won't visit this location anymore. It's sad because I come here often but customer service isn't good here.
This was my very first time shopping with Ulta beauty and I must say it was a horrible experience! I had a horrible interaction with Tammy. She helped me with choosing some makeup and it was a decent experience BUT my checkout experience is a different story. When asked about signing up for ultra beauty subscription I kindly declined simply saying “I’m good” this missed sales opportunity set Tammy off ! From then on she was very passive aggressive and nice nasty. Which is overall disrespectful. She even took it as far making snarky comments about how my points are going to the next guest. She wants to ensure that the points go to the right person…so shady for no reason. Get it together Tammy. You encourage me to NEVER return to Ulta Beauty. What a shame… 12/05/2022
I went to have my make-up done for pictures for my job. I don't wear face make-up. I only wear lipstick/gloss and sometimes eye shadow, therefore I was really nervous about the whole ordeal. I didn't want my nose thinner or my lips bigger or my eyebrows stenciled on. My MUA was Christopher. He didn't need to ask a bunch of questions to know what I needed for my my look. He did a wonderful job on my face. I was made up but still looked like myself. I highly recommend him to anyone wanting to get fabulous looking for just a moment. My whole experience from the time I walked in on Thursday to make an appointment and told them what I wanted done, to the time I paid and walked out on Monday, was very smooth and easy. They even send text reminders about your appointment.
This is not my neighborhood store but it’s my favorite. I feel that some staff members don’t really pay much attention to the customers. On the other hand some are very approachable and helpful. Kelsey has great customer service skills. She always gives me great makeup tips and introduced me to new products. Being a beginner at applying makeup, it was just what I needed. She was helpful, kind, patient and knowledgeable about the products. I also love the fact that some days she’s glammed up and other days it’s just her natural glow. Thank you Kelsey. These five stars are for you and all the other staff members that make the effort to genuinely help customers. It makes a great difference. It’s a huge part of the human experience to share and help each other.
This is the Ulta I always go to since it is the closest to me and I have nothing negative to say at all, in fact the employees are very helpful and really seem like they love their job. They make it easy to find exactly what you're looking for and will tell you the truth about if a product actually works or not. The only thing I don't like is a lot of times they are sold out if a product is in high demand at the time. I also wish they carried more of the higher end brands like Dior and Chanel. The lines can get long as well but that's any Ulta I think. When I had to make a return they made sure the process was quick and easy and the cashier's are always nice and sweet. Will keep coming back here for all of my beauty needs
On April 21, 2022 @4pm I went into the store for some new fragrance I felt like I was being watched so badly that I was rushed to get out of the store The security was starrring and watching my every move it made me so uncomfortable it was such a hostile environment to shop in I ended up spending $400.00 I will never shop here again even the police was called to the store not sure for what but it was a horrible experience next time I will take my money to Sephora & shop in peace!!!!! I started to think because I was a black female everyone acted like I was about to steal wow !!!!! Horrible horrible experience!!!!! Y'all please do better with training your staff not to act like army grauds !!!!
I had deemed Ulta on IKEA Blvd my favorite store. After the experience I encountered with the Store Manager on last evening (10/12/2021) was the absolute worst customer service. I had been having an awful day after I received some bad medical news and my phone had died because my car charger did not work. Simply because I didn’t have the email to present with a barcode I was unable to pick up my prepaid online order. I did however presented my picture ID (my NC issued DL). I pleaded with the Manager but she had no type of compassion or empathy. Needless to say I left without my order and told her to keep it because after five days it will be returned. I will NEVER patronize this store again!!!
Tammy was rude when she checked me out today. Gave an attitude and nasty look when I said I wanted to make two separate purchases because of two different deals for the items going on. When I reminded her I wanted to use the coupon for one purchase, she exclaimed that I had already paid for it so she couldn’t scan the coupon when I hadn’t put in my card at all. Not sure how she made that assumption. She seemed in very much of a rush and not patient with my questions about the coupons and deals since exclusions always apply. There are always issues when I go into this store, whether it’s associates talking amongst themselves or points not being granted when there’s a 3x or 5x points deal.
Horrible experience here.. Knowing they were about to close I was rushing Howe that wasn’t fast enough for the old black lady that was extremely rude I’m a diamond member I may not have looked up to par being that I rushed out the house to make it to ulta before they closed and still ended up getting nothing she also snatched the little items out my hand saying they are about to close… These are Customer service representatives and they need a lot more training on the customer service part. They were out the store by 9:07 I know people wannna go home when it’s time to but 5 extra min wouldn’t have hurt and I wasn’t even greeted or helped while in store. Charlotte University area
Do not use the salon here. Inexperienced stylists. While she was very nice, my hair is nothing like what I asked for and is damaged. Large bald spot in my hair part that wasn’t there before. I asked for root touch up to match my natural color (dark brown) which should be very easy…got orange tinted roots. She knew the color was off and said she would use toner. After this my hair still wasn’t what I wanted and she offered to fix it but I had to leave to get my daughter and honestly didn’t trust her dying my hair again. Got to check out and realized she charged me $57 for the toner to fix her mistake!! Cashier and salon manager were not helpful at all. I will not be coming back.
I went to this location to return an item because the product was dry (eyebrow product). The cashier (Tammy) said that since I used a specific amount of the product, I couldn't return it. I later spoke to a manager, and she said I could return the item. She mentioned that their policy changed and I could return it. I had to wait in line again, and when Tammy was assisting me, I noticed her demeanor had changed. She looked annoyed. I was surprised because she was cheerful when she assisted other customers. If I need to return an item in the future, I will do it through the mail. This experience made me feel uncomfortable and awkward.
This Ulta is really hit or miss. They do carry a variety of high-end products without having to drive all the way to Northlake to visit Sephora. However, besides that ... it's basically useless. The rest of the store is rarely stocked, the "inexpensive" makeup side is always filthy with either dust or used products that aren't test samples (seriously, who would pay for used foundation when they could just go to Walgreens ...) Additionally, the staff is rarely helpful. They all just walk around you, even when you attempt to approach them with questions. I would steer clear and just order your products offline or go elsewhere.
I walk into this store all the time and is almost never greeted , the associates just walk past you like your not there or either it's impossible to find a associate . Last Friday they lady checking me out was having a hard time apparently she was the only one in the store . While checking me out another lady came up asking for assistance . She handed me my money (didn't tell me my change) or say "have a good day" .. she proceeded to say "I'll take the Next customer" while walking out onto the floor . I felt that was not very good customer service at all . I mainly feel like this store is always understaff to be busy .
I generally love Ulta, and I buy a lot of products from them. This location, though, needs some help with their customer service skills. I needed to make a return today. The first cashier told me she couldn't help me unless I paid with a card. I told her that I either paid with a card or a gift card, but I wasn't sure. Instead of checking, she handed me the receipt and item and said that I should just wait for the next cashier. The next cashier just wasn't very friendly. I had intended to buy a few things, but the attitudes from the employees was unwelcoming and I left. I guess I will shop online instead.
Nyjah was absolutely AMAZING. When I tell you she turned around my opinion of this location…. I have never had a good experience with a single employee in this location until today. Nyjah was patient in listening to what I was looking for, was cognizant of my budget, and explained why she was advising certain products. She somehow picked my exact skin tone in products like a magician - it was shocking really! I left with several products I am confident will work for me. I appreciated the time she took with me, and making me feel like a valued human. Thank you for making my day, Nyjah!
I am saddened to say that after 30 minutes of waiting at the brow bar I was still being ignored. Yes they were short staffed a bit, however every single other customer was approached to see if they had been helped and given amazing service while I continued to stand abd wait. Over 4 staff members including a manager saw me standing and did nothing. Never asked if I had been helped. Just kept seeing I was waiting and never talked to me. There was no sign saying the brow services were closed for the day. Just a waste of time. I hope they will improve their service in the future.
Not professional in their service. I had an appointment at 8:15pm but they said wait for 10mins as they were with other customer. But that 10mins was not completed even after 45mins. When I asked store manager she said she will figure it updated me only after 35 mins. I had to cancel my meetings and wait in their store. After all the hair specialist has shown her hurry to go home on my haircut. I have been to ulta multiple times to the same store. But today service not acceptable. I request store manager to take it very seriously and do not repeat such things going forward.
I went to pick up my ulta online order and when I got home and opened my bag I had been given a used box of perfume. No cellophane wrap on the box, no bow around the nozzle. I ordered YSL Mon Paris which is all I have worn for years so I know what I’m supposed to get. The girl that brought my order out to me told me that she could only put it in the back seat or the trunk when I literally watched her hand the car next to me their order. She knew exactly what she was doing and why. I am going back to the store and I need them to make it right or I’m contacting corporate.
This Ulta has a nice selection of items. However, employees follow customers around too much. Then, attempt to conceal it by making conversation about gift sets and sales. Not the friendliest environment for browsing new items. Hopefully, Ulta will consider some of the comments mentioned by other customers regarding their bad experiences, and improve it’s customer service. Instead of worrying about who is coming to shoplift, Ulta needs to focus more on improving customer shopping experiences. Loss prevention staff is a little TOO aggressive here.
Definitely my least favorite of all the stores I waited for 20 minutes in the makeup section trying to get the attention of one of the employees to get a color match I even walked around the entire store and every time there was someone available they would just help somebody else and they could see clearly that I was needing assistance and then I ended up leaving the store making a very small purchase instead of a large purchase I intend it to me. The cashier checking me out was nice but that was it.I will not return to this particular store.
The assistant manager Tracey is probably one of the most inept people I've ever met. She has no clue what she's doing. I had to do an exchange, and she 1) took FOREVER, and 2) told me I couldn't use it towards another product because I had used my points and they wouldn't be returned to my account for a couple of days. I told her I had done this multiple times, some times with her as a my cashier, even. Surprise surprise when we get the receipt she sees my points have been returned to my account. Frustration. She makes going there frustrating.
My experience was AH-mazing! I went in for makeup appt w/ Christopher for my maternity shoot... I showed him a pic of ig model Alexis Sky’s make up that I liked.. all he said was “I’ll be right bk” (went out to the floor to get everything we needed) NAILED IT! I think the make up came out better than the actual pic I showed.. Chris got my face ALL the way together!!! & it only took abt 1hr... My photographer kept complimenting my make up. I did not want to take it off ! Definitely will be booking w/ him again!! Thank you Chris
This review is based on the sales associate who asked for my phone number 3 times instead of checking me out. I ran in to get a few items on my lunch break. I’ve never gotten rewards in the past so I didn’t see a point in giving my number. She kept insisting on my phone number even after I declined. I placed the items on the counter and went to Target instead. I thought it was rather rude that I answered 3 times and she continued. My lunch breaks are short and I don’t have time to battle with a senseless individual.
I ran in here to pick up a refill of an item I ran out of, but planned to look around a little after. Unfortunately, as soon as I picked up the item I came in for a security gaurd approached me and said she needed to escort me to check out. She acted annoyed when I asked if I could continue shopping for other items and asked if I was done or not. I decided not to deal with it and just let her escort me. Paid for the one item and decided to get the other things I needed in a place where I felt more welcome.
Anna assisted me with an online return and was very helpful. I went around the store afterwards to test out products I wanted to purchase online (I had a coupon for prestiage products, online only 20%) Anna knew that I was not making a purchase in store but still continued to help me build my online basket, matching me with a new foundation- providing multiple recommendations and helping me find eye shadow. She listened to what I was looking for and was very knowledgeable. Great asset to the store :)
Came in to buy some foundation. They don’t carry Fenty, so I decided that I’d try Nars. The lady literally told me to sign up for an app and left me looking stupid and lost. They really don’t care and are rude. Also, I’m glad to know that they listen more to intricate details of Instagram and Love and Hip Hop, rather than assist customers. I’m trying to be grateful that they even came in to work, but it was more like going to my homegirls house. Also, the store smells like feet. Thank you.
I feel like every time I come here and they ask if I need anything (which is fine if they ask the first time) and I say no they keep asking within 5 minutes. This happen to me and I was on the phone and didn’t hear her this time around and the lady laughed at me just because I didn’t answer the question. It made the experience uncomfortable and makes me not want to shop here anymore. I feel like I was watched as if I could not afford shopping here. I really do not want to come back here.
I would give less than one star if I could. This place has security that racial profiled me. I’m married to a white man so I’m no where near racist at all. But because me and my daughter were the only blacks in the store at the time he followed only us around it was so obvious I had to ask if he worked there. I left and went to the concord mills location where they have security too but wasn’t made to feel like I was going to steal something. I will never shop at this ulta again.
Unfortunately, my mother and I was racially profiled while shopping in this store today. I seleted a few items i needed for my make up and fragrance that I wanted for my birthday. We were quickly approcached by security and a few sale's staff and followed through out the store. Immediately I handed them all the items i wanted to purchase. The sales staff stated if I wanted purchase anything I must give it to them before going to counter. I will not be going back
It really saddens me to hear all the negative posts and I’m sorry to those of you had such a bad experience. I have shopped at this Ulta since it opened and have always received the BEST in customer care. I suppose it could be the time of day or day of week I was there, but my experience has always been wonderful. All of the personnel has been very patient and extremely helpful. Thank you, Ulta, for continued positive experiences whenever I shop your store!
PLEASE STOP AN EMPLOYEE IF THEY USE THE ACTUAL TESTING APPLICATION ON YOU INSTEAD OF THE DISPOSABLE APPLICATION!!! I got concealer matched, the employee literally applied the tester application under my eyes. She didn’t use a temporary application that you dispose of. I realized this and had to use the disposer application myself. Luckily I did not get a reaction. You don’t know what you can catch. Employees should be trained on better sanitary applications.
I like Ulta. I get my hair done here and think they do a great job. Amanda always does a fantastic job on my hair. Super personable and attentive. I've always had excellent customer service. The store layout is easy to navigate. I like to get most of my beauty products here. They're great for stocking stuffer purchases also! And I love their rewards program. I save up my points the whole year and the points will pretty much pay for Christmas purchases.
I'm starting to think that being rude is a requirement to work there. I walked around for about 10 minutes looking for a specific product. Two employees were having an in-depth conversation and did not even acknowledge me. Another employee acknowledged me enough to follow me around the store and peek at me over the shelves. I was clearly lost and didn't know what I was looking for. But yet no one asked me if I needed anything. Sephora would never.....
I went today to return some cologne that my boyfriend didn't want. He opened the lid, sniffed it, and gave it back. When I went to return it the manager stated it was empty. I told her that it was absolutely not, that it had never been sprayed. I had to teach this MANAGER of the store how to look at a bottle to tell it if were empty. I was absolutely baffled by the accusation, especially in front of other customers.
My daughter and I have bought many perfumes and makeup and lip-glosses, Becca highlighters, exc, exc from here. Staff is slow to assist. Some items in the store are unorganized. You guys need to stop being cheap and give your hard spending customers samples like sephora. I love sephora. However, some of the girls are snotty, and will push you off, but if your spending they will assist you at Sephora!
I went for the cuts for a cause event, which was awesome for so many reasons. Most importantly, I wanted to praise Courtney in the salon for listening to me about what I was looking for in a haircut and giving me exactly what I was hoping to get. I can't wait to go back and see her next time I need a haircut. PS I took off a star because anytime I go there I find the store staff to be kind of rude. :-(
This place is sooo amazing! Katherine was so sweet and did an amazing job on my hair. The rest of the staff here is usually pretty great except when they gather in groups and talk and would rather text their friends then help out...but other than that most of it's great. I definitely come when they are short staffed because they pay more attention to customers when it's during the week in the morning.
Every time I come to this ULTA location I am profiled and followed around the store. Usually it’s a white male who appears to be a manager or possibly security. Today Ms. Brianna was the lovely lady following me around the store and also checked me out at the register. Every time I turned around she just so happened to be right there with her loud keys. I will not come back to this location anymore.
Had trouble experience with the salon service. Booked a appointment online, reached for my appointment on time. when I got there they told me they can't take me cause I should have called in and make appointment Really....... Then why they have a feature to book online. I asked if some else was available to do the hair cut if the person I booked with can't do it. I was turned away with out service
Went in to find a new skin care system and the associate did not listen to my skin care needs or what I was looking for. She was only concerned about up selling a ton of extra stuff to me that I didn’t even need. Also, every time I’m transferred to the Brow Bar, nobody ever answers the phone!!!!! I’ve been to many other ulta stores before and never had as much trouble as I do at this one.
I have a love/hate relationship that our house is less than 10 minutes away from ulta. Because I visit frequently and now know the store like the back of my hand, I can make a quick trip for the one thing I need, and get in/out in 10mins! Also, the beauty advisors are always extremely helpful in navigating new products and making sure it works for you before you buy it!
No one ever greets you or acknowledge you when your wondering around looking for something, just ask "do you need help" or "can I assist you" but the security will follow you around as if you don't see him HELL if you going to do that at least ask to assist me... I can't with this store every location this far has been not a good one I hate spending money here
Checkout took a long time! Now, I will say i went a day to two before Mother's Day, but it took like 30 minutes to check out. The line when almost 3/4 of the way to the back of the store with only 2 cashiers. There were other people that seem like they could have helped but they just kind of stood around. Either way, I'd probably go to a different location.
I had my hair done at my previous stylist and the color came out within a week. It just so happened that I was at this store and met Mekeba who fixed the situation right away. I was extremely impressed with her work and professionalism. I love my hair color! Will definitely be back as a regular to get my hair done and I highly recommend anyone to see her!
I was not even acknowledged. I was trying to get matched and purchase foundation and concealer. No one approached me. I felt unappreciated. Not valued. I will not be returning to this location. Not one member of the staff said hello. No customer service. I am sad but I need to let you all know customers walking in make them feel valued and appreciated.
This location specifically has a lot of skin care products that quickly leave the shelves at places like Walmart and Target. If you’re looking to start a new skin care routine, this location has a plethora of options! Honestly, it was fun looking around. As far as lashes, no sis. I did not find the lashes I was looking for. Skin Care ✔️Lashes ❌
Stylist Cynthia did damaged my hair. Went to get hair color came back with my hair burnt off 80% of my hair gone not even the color i asked for, my scalp was chemically burnt they didn’t want to refund me and after they did they didn't want to fix it! This kind of damage will take 5-6 yrs to be fixed for my hair to grow back. Don-not got there.
I had a brief visit here with my friends and the entire time we were being blatantly followed by their security guard. We hadn’t even been there 5 minutes. I did not purchase anything and never will because I will not be disrespected like that for no reason other than racial profiling. If I could give a negative rating, I surely would!
They have about every hair and skin product there is. However, some of the associates follow certain people around the store as if they might take something illegally. It makes one feel uncomfortable. Although I love their products, I think I'll go to Sephora . They have many of the same products and they make you feel welcome.
Absolutely love The Benefit Bar in Ulta. Best place to get your brows done! They map your brows and now offer laminating and tinting. I got my brows laminated and waxed. They look amazing and they last 8 weeks!!!! Ulta carries all the makeup brands you love and while you shop you can get any of the salon services you need.
No one ever picks up the phone. I work right next to this location so I’m there at least once a week but anytime I come in the store in anything but a full face of makeup and a good outfit I get bad looks and people following my every move even though I’ve spent hundreds of dollars here. Concord location is so much better.
Horrible service! Will never be going back again. The ladies at the register rude and unprofessional! Long lines and all cashiers are talking ignoring the customers and they just look bad at the line! The audacity! I’ve never had a problem with this ulta before but for sure would not be back. Do better Ulta employees :/
Y'all have to do better with customer service! So you have some staff members who are really nice ( the men that work there and the benefit employee's) but the others are terrible. Doesn't matter if I'm purchasing a $40 bronzer or $5 eyeliner the customer service should be the same from everyone. Please do better.
It’s a very good experience at store. Sephora has got wide range of beauty products. I got an assistance from Joe, Ulta member was really helpful and suggesting the colors which goes great on my outfit for my Grad day. And also was helping me in application process and tricks to make it look elegant and natural.
I came into this store yesterday with absolutely no idea on how certain products worked with various skin tones and I am thankful that one of the associates took time to give me some great information. She didn't rush to leave my side as I found the products that I was interested in purchasing for gifts.
The manager at store 5 on ikea blvd in Charlotte nc. She was so pleasant and patient. I was shopping for my son some cologne. She went to back to check for sets. She is a good example of excellence customer service. First time I went into that store and felt welcome. Thank You snd keep up the Good Work.
Sami Rivera consistently provides me with amazing customer service, recommending products best suited for me, with no product bias. He is an exceptionally talented makeup artist and sales person. I trust his judgement 100% and go to this location specifically to get his feedback on the latest products.
This particular store I really, really, really like. They are big and have a huge selection of the more affordable Cosmetics that I would be looking for. Whereas the high-end is also of a great selection. So it is a great convenience to have the mixture of your high and low end cosmetics under 1 roof.
I found the most amazing make-up artist here. His make up was flawless, I requested that he apply make-up for me. I was "AMAZED at the results" . I purchased more than $300 of products, which will have to be replenished in two months. Their products are quality and the make-up artist are phenomenal!
Everyone here always tends to be helpful! The only reason I gave 4 out of 5 is because they do tend to be out of stock on the items that I always stop in for. (Things that are generally easier to find at ulta than elsewhere seem to sell out quickly at this location before they have it restocked.)
I visited the store today and I had a pleasant experience except for the fact that one of the workers there was profiling me and literally followed me around the entire store for 45 minutes. I love ulta but I will never return to this location to be followed around the store while trying to shop.
First time I came in to this location,I had a great customer service, and an employee assisted me very friendly. Second time, I come back to this store; the staffs didn't care about their customer and they have time to chit-chat, but they don't have time to assist a customer. Very disappointed.
The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because they are very slow with checking customers out. I have been here at least 15 times(this is my go to store) and the same thing every time. They are very polite and helpful. They could have some more options but I have seen improvement overtime.
Went for hair highlights, they did wrong color and afterwards were not feely so sorry and next we went again to get it correct and they were asking money again. Though after little discussion they agreed not to charge. But still it depicts that they themselves were not realizing mistake.
The Security Guard follow me around So Annoying I do not want to feel uncomfortable again ,Horrible !!! I will go to sephora ,Ulta Security Guard make me feel like I was a Criminal ,No Way I have been a Ulta Customer for a long time until Now ,No More ,Very uncomfortably situation there
My fiance and I came in to get our foundation shade matched per our makeup artist's request for our upcoming wedding. Mckenzie was very approachable and helpful, she stopped what she was doing immediately to help us find the right shades. She was kind, personal, and great at her job!
Well kept store. Like any ulta it's hard to figure out who works there and who you can ask for assistance. A few times I've checked for an item online to see if it's in stock just to arrive at the store and it's no where to be found. I personally prefer the Ulta up by Concord Mills.
Made an appointment for 10am for brow bar. I have never used this company before but a friend recommended it. Manager said salon specialist was not here yet but to take a seat. I waited 30 min and no one ever came or checked on me. I checked the app and my appointment was deleted.
Never had a bad experience here it’s what you would expect out of a beauty and makeup store. Staff are friendly, give you privacy when shopping (I really don’t like it when sales associates lurk like in similar makeup store chains) but are ready to help the moment you need it.
I have struggled So bad with my eyebrows from past eyebrow people but wow Marian IS THE GIRL!!! She’s so sweet and really took her time on me. Very clean snd helpful! Overall 10/10! Please if you need your eyebrows done come here and ask for her! She is now my eyebrow person
Horrible experience at the salon. I was there all day for a cut and color. The color was nothing like the example of a picture the stylist showed me. She didn't finish my cut and I left with a wet head.Stylist was rude and told me I could leave and she was the salon manager.
The store itself and the employees are nice. There’s also a lot of times where some of the makeup you want will be out of stock completely. If anything be careful with pick-up orders, on two separate occasions I was given makeup that was either broken or had a broken seal.
Jess is an amazing makeup artist and skin care specialist for Clinique. She always have superb customer service and takes her time to explain how to properly use all makeup and skin care products. I visit Ulta regularly to visit Jess and learn more about new products!
I had a wonderful experience today at this location. I have been using the same foundation for quite a while, I recently ran out and decided I needed to find something new. The staff was extremely helpful with all my questions. Helped me find the PERFECT foundation!
Allow yourself at least an hour to come to this store. The line is always 20+ people deep with one person working the register. Most annoying store I've ever been too. And half the time the manager acts like she has no clue what's going on in life. Wake up store.
This has been my go to Ulta for the past 2 years. If you don’t usually frequent this store, you may be intimidated or overwhelmed by the layout and lack of help. The lines are unnecessarily long at any time in the afternoon, but the cashiers are always smiling.
Nice people and easily accessible. Chances are you will get "can I help you find anything?" A LOT. I know for a fact that management watches them and makes them ask Everytime they make eye contact and walk by you. Just a friendly tidbit some might like to know.
This is more about the beauty salon at this location. Anna is fantastic. She gave me a haircut I felt so great about and talked me through everything. I’ve never felt so comfortable with a hairdresser. If you go here request her you won’t be disappointed!!
Everyone is nice but very busy the times I've been here there was only two people working checkouts they need more people at the registers like they used to so we can come in and out and not stand in line for ever but love the staff when their not snooty
I love Ulta Beauty! Mostly because they have everything from Cover Girl to Urban Decay. So there's a good variety inexpensive and expensive beauty products. The lines are generally long on the weekend but the staff is quick and accommodating. Love Ulta!
Scheduled a hair appointment at this location, and received service from Amanda. She did a great job and answered at least a zillion questions from me about hair and hair styling. Highly recommend giving the salon services a try, especially with Amanda.
This place is huge. It's so bright as soon as you walk in and it's very inviting. The staff is very nice. I went in there to return some items and again ended up leaving with something as usual. I'm going to have to put myself on a timeout. …
