Chris the salon manager is not good. Needs to be fired for his unprofessionalism. He fried my friends hair then didn't want to fix it. So we spoke to the manager of ulta. He does not take constructive criticism in a professional manner when my friend went in there today after the ulta manager Fernanda promised to get my friends hair fixed. Her hair is horrible, I could've done the same work by bleaching it myself. Gone to Sallys and bought the products myself. Today they backed out on the agreement. I wasn't able to be there with my friend unfortunately. I promise I will be calling corporate because I called to be able to speak to him. I spoke to him in a more than professional manner and he decided not to listen to what I had to say and he hung up on me. Trust that there will be a retaliation against his actions in a legal manner. I have a lot of buddies that work with well know TV channels and I will blast the hell out of this guy on the media. So be prepared Chris. I will make sure you get fired!!! I will wreck your so called professionalism because you have no customer service and you are a horrible hairdresser. DO NOT LET CHRIS TOUCH YOUR HAIR!!!! DON'T GO TO ULTA TO GET YOUR HAIR DONE!!! This place needs to get rid of all its employees and hire new ones that actually have great customer service. Go take a few classes on how to treat people and handle a situation. Not just treat them for what they may look. Just because someone walks in there looking all ratchet doesn't mean that they don't have any money and if they didn't you should treat people how you want to be treated.

Janet cancelled on me twice day of appointment. I used to go here before the pandemic and they shut down the hair appointments. I was so happy when they re-opened. I have made appointments twice since then once in October 2021 and a second in December 24th. I was exited about the one in October I was caring for a family member who had just had surgery during this time and was excited to do something for myself. My regular beautician was Janet before the pandemic so I was excited to see that she came back. I booked in advance and when I showed up she had cancelled on me. I don't know if it is because I was not a regular any more but they scheduled me with another person and fit me in. I schedule my next appointment with her a month in advance. I received a call from the salon cancelling again today Christmas Eve. This time they told me I was scheduled with a person (Fernando) I did not make an appointment with. I scheduled a month in advance with Janet for this specific day and I was again pushed off on another stylist who then cancelled on my last min right before the holiday. Every time I request a curl by curl cut. I am starting to think it is not something this particular stylist likes to do. Not like it will make a difference to them but I will not be returning and thank you for messing up my holiday plans.

Up until today, this particular location was great..but today I was very disappointed. I come here and buy what I need and depending on how busy checkout is, I am there 5 minutes. Staff was always friendly and helpful but today, I was standing there for about a minute...mind you I was the only one in line, three feet away from the 3 employees standing near two registers. I waited a few seconds to be acknowledged and they kept giggling on with their conversation. Only one of the three employees had their back to me so okay, she didn't see me, no problem with her but the other two were clearly in my line of sight. After a minute I started waving the two 10.14oz bottles I had in the air, looking silly trying to get their attention. They were not busy working they were just standing there giggling and I finally had to ask "Is anyone going to ring me up?" They looked upset, no one apologized, no one said there was a problem with the register and two of them walked away while Angel, female, rang me up. My big issue is not having been acknowledged when I got to the front of the line or when I was waving the bottles up in the air. Terrible customer service today.

went in today just for a vitamin c serum. I was in the skin section towards the back and needed some help but did not see anyone around and I thought it would be difficult to find someone because I was all the way in the back. I heard a lady asking people if they needed help. I quickly turned and she was a few ailes up but we made eye contact and she immediately came to me. I asked her about a serum which two I was holding was best. She gave me her opinion. I told her my skin concerns and she asked if she could show me some other products. She walked me over to Good Modecules which I was wanting to try after seeing them on a YouTube video. I can't remember her name but she was super kind and helpful. I ended up leaving out with two hundred dollars worth of products. Not my intention at all. LOL. She also helped me with a color match. She was so so helpful and kept coming back to check on me. She was a light skin lady with a short hair cut and glasses. I want to say her name is Tina but I'm not certain but she was a gem! I appreciate her great customer service so much because a lot of places are lacking in that department. I love this location!!

The staff is super friendly and helpful. I was looking for concealer for my under eye but I don't want to look like I'm wearing anything because I'm a guy. Anyway, the girls there tried several products and color combinations to match my skin color. They did a fantastic job finding a concealer that looked completely transparent and natural...and only in one product. How awesome is that?! I'm writing this review because it's long deserved. I've purchased other products: clays, hair brushes, and hair sprays. So, in addition to the aforementioned, this last visit was super meaningful to me because I'm getting older and kind of embarrassed of being a guy looking for concealer in a beauty shop. I would never have thought I'd ever buy makeup, but the ladies there made me feel at ease and made my experience a pleasant and memorable one. Now I look like I'm not tired and have a little more confidence. Thanks so much Ulta ladies. You are my heroines. I would recommend Ulta as a solution for beauty products.

Although the security guard greeted me and I returned the greeting, he quite literally leaned against one of the perfume towers and was watching me test perfumes for about 5-7 minutes before I finally left out of discomfort and disappointment. I’ve worked retail so I understand that there are hot spots but security is supposed to casually watch the area. Other than that, do not visit this location if you want to test perfume. Rather than real testing strips, they have cut up pieces of paper that I’m pretty sure I could grab and solve a puzzle. I’m not sure if they ran out but it was a nightmare testing fragrances and I truly thought for a second that my nose was off haha. The workers are nice though and it’s a convenient location near my home. Update: recently heard of multiple different versions of stories like this happening to other Black women. Do better Ulta.

I called them to make an appointment and they took my information and said they would call me back after they checked with the lady as to when she would be free. I got a call about 20 minutes later telling me to come in at 6:40 PM, which was really inconvenient because I had to get somebody to watch my children But I did, and while I was driving to the salon, I got a text message from them saying that my appointment had been canceled. I called them and she said that they close at 6 PM even though they booked me for 6:40 PM. I had dealt with a lady named Leslie who made the initial reservation. She obviously does not know the hours of her own store, and if this happens to me as a customer, I can imagine it is happening to many other customers. If I were her manager, I would fire her for under performance.

I would give my experience here no stars. The staff is rude, did not greet us not a Hello, how are you. You can obviously see that’s it’s instilled in them that all black people come into the store to shoplift . It’s an all Mexican staff, asked one of them a question, she rudely answered and refused to help my teenage daughters and I . To all my Wellington square neighbors, please shop at Sephora, there is a new one straight down Washington, in downtown Culver City staff is amazing and helpful. If you must shop at Ulta don’t do it here, go to Culver City or Marina. Also the security guard was trash, my daughters were at the Fenty section he stood over them the whole time, he could be a perv ‍♀️ and he was African American, it will be your own race as well#BoycottthisUlta

I did a product and procedure inspection here sometime last week. Although I’m sure they figured out who I was and what I was doing already. I want to say thank you to the associate that walked me around in the store helping me find every product that I was looking for thank you I appreciate you kindly. This ultra location is everything that you expect from the company of the statute. Ladies I’m sure you would love this place. It’s definitely worth checking out.? Well what can I say the general manager Tyler has some real issues. It’s really Unfortunate that’s he’s the dm there! This location really needs to clean house and hire knowledgeable Friendly customer service employees. I’ve been coming to this location for years and nothing has change same Disrespectful attitude from employees and general manager but I guess they employees are just flowing the poor example that’s the gm Tyler gives the customer so naturally they would think mistreatment is ok and Appropriate. I really do hope Corporate takes this serious and fix the problem because they feel as if we’re doing them a favor for shopping there. But I would start with replacing the gm so that’s they know that rudeness and following because around would not be permitted.

The store is nice itself but the customer service is very bad. I had a question about something and a Girl name Giselle when I asked her if she worked here she rolled her eyes and didn’t even turn around to face me and said yes in a very rude way. When she finally turned around in a very nasty rude way she said “yes why”. I was so shocked on how nasty she was that I told her never mind and walked away. I had to go fine someone else to help me. When I was leaving she made a comment to her coworker and the manger himself about how “gosh people woke up in the wrong side of the bed” I think she is very unprofessional in the way she is addressing customers. When I spoke to the manger he seem very indifferent about it as well but said he “would speak to her”.

Went for the first time today to do an online pickup, and unfortunately I didn't have my I.D. with me. They didn't let me use my card as an alternative method and the cashier that was checking me out was just straight up unhelpful (the girl with her ears stretched). She scanned my order (which makes the payment) and didn't even wait for me to check for my ID. By doing so she later told me that I would have to wait 5 days to get reimbursed. When I asked her if I could just purchase the same items in store, she told me that I would have to go get them myself. First and last time doing an online order and going to this location. The girl was extremely unhelpful and with a bad attitude.

Wanted to add 2 stars just because several employees did ask me a few times if I needed any help.. And a nice lady helped me out with chosing a moisturizer that was best for my skin and had great customer service. But I'm not adding any more because the security had her eyes on me for some reason. We even made eye contact a few times and didn't even say hi...that was awkward to me. Why would the store security even go stand close to where I'm at to observe me, while I'm trying to make up my mind on a cologne, as if I appeared to look like if i was stealing? That was very weird for me and uncomfortable. Is there a time limit for shopping??.. Well I still took my time anyway..

This is the worst Ulta I have ever been too. First off, every time I go into this store every product, no matter what brand, is broken or used which is DISGUSTING! It wasn't even the "test" makeup. I've complained multiple times and no matter what day I go in, it's always the same. So that leads me to my third complaint. I had enough of that store and asked them to order online a foundation in the correct shade. First, they told me it was going to be 3 business days. Then it took a week to get here, and right when I received it, it was the wrong shade. I've been coming to this store every 2 weeks and nothing is changed no matter whom I speak with. This store is DISGUSTING!

The only person that greeted me was the security guard once I stepped in. They were 3 sale associates on the floor and not one came to ask if I was doing ok ok. To top it off, while checking out I asked If they had the Valentino women’s perfume on the floor because on their app it said that they had it in stock. Bethsaida The sales associate that was checking me out didnt even bother to lift her head and look at my phone, showing her the picture of the item I wanted, she just automatically said no. I brushed it off decided to keep paying I had a coupon but it seemed like she was bothered that she wanted to rush through the transaction and just have me leave.

I was so happy about buying new makeup I went to my favorite brand, I didn’t see the brow gel color I wanted, I ask an associate with blue hair if they had some stocked in the back and he said “I’ll check but meanwhile go look around” so I did I kept looking for other stuff I wanted but that store was so low in stock!! Then I seen an African American lady and I asked her “ do you have this item in the back” and she didn’t even look in the back and she straight up told me “no” and head towards her other coworker to talk !! After that I went to checkout and I still didn’t have no response with the guy with blue hair and he saw me and walked away !!

I tried signing up fir the Ulta beauty card, I really wanted that 20% off, but it didn’t work. Cashiers like “oh it didn’t work. It’ll send you an email on why it didn’t work in about 10 days.” She was obviously trying to rush me out of there. Before I could even say “well can we try again..?” She just gives me my total. I didn’t feel welcomed so I didn’t ask again. I just wanted to leave. Guess I won’t be needing the card anyway. Mean girls like this are the reason why I left cosmetology school. I checked out at around 2:05-2:15 at the first register. I still haven’t gotten an email for my receipt.. I still really need it...

EXCELLENT friendly staff and customer service. One of the best "one stop" beauty shops around, much better than shopping at a department store. In addition to the Ulta brand products, you may purchase cosmetics and beauty supplies here from brands such as L'Oreal, Maybelline and Cover Girl to high end brands such as Shisedo, Clarins, Chanel, Christian Dior, Yves St Laurent, Armani and more. Organic and natural brands also sold here. Hair dryers, accessories such as cosmetic bags, hair bands and pins. Just about anything beauty-related can be found at this location or others in Greater Los Angeles area.

I had a very bad experience with a hairdresser at this store who would not listen to me and completely ignored what I said I wanted. Worst of all is the fact that I am getting NO response from the manager who is supposed to deal with this. So they just expect you to wait until they are good and ready to talk, which could be weeks. Horrible customer service! UPDATE: I was finally contacted by the corporate office and they blew me off! Having the mess they made corrected will cost a fortune and probably damage my hair. I will need conditioners and other products to get my hair in good condition.

Let’s start off by saying the men here are overworked my hair is a disaster now I have red and orange spots on my hair for 265!!!! My money down the drain also they person who did my hair was nice but he seem so overworked doing my hair and another person at the same time .as a client being charge this much you would expect way better than this as this is my first and last time . Not to mention when I called the next day to ask what I could do for my hair to lighten it or remove this color I was a client as well who got over charged for a horrible job I would not recommend this place

They followed me around the store, and one employee, did not get her name stood at the aisle i was at and just stared at me as i picked out my tarte concealer. Felt very uncomfortable because they treated me like i was gonna steal. Purchased the concealer anyways rather than going to another store. Ulta at long beach was alot friendlier and less racisit. AVOID THIS LOCATION, unless u want to be treated like a criminal the moment u walk in the store. I understand its their job and i am use to getting followed around as i am black, but this was too far and made me very uncomfortable.

This Ulta has the most disrespectful staff, and based on previous reviews nothing changes. I booked a haircut online with Janet several days ago only to come in today and have her tell me she “doesn’t have time for a haircut.” What is the point of being able to schedule online appointments if they aren’t upheld. Janet was so disrespectful and didn’t handle the situation well at all. Luckily Justin, another hairstylist was able to take me. He was very kind, I will definitely book with him again. In general though, avoid Janet and this Ulta whenever you can.

When you arrive on time for your scheduled hair cut and the stylist shows up only to let you know that she's running a half hour late (even though she wasn't cutting anyone else's hair), you get a single star review. Unless it's an emergency, which it wasn't, perhaps a text or phone call is in order. Most of us are busy and make appointments for a reason. People, this is how you lose customers - permanently. There are simply too many choices out there to return to a place that's this unprofessional. Find another salon.

A person like Tyler should never ever be a general manager. He looks at you and talk to you like he is a queen and you are garbage. Extremely passive aggressive, judgemental, arrogant, rude, mean, unprofessional. Stay away. He doesn't know any store policies and only tries to make fun of you and offend your intelligence and ability to actually undrstand anu store policy. He treat customers like dumb pieces of trash. He refuses to provide a proper escalation, he reports to no one. Again, stay away from this store.

I have to write another review for Angella ohhh my gosh I walked in there with the dryest skin and worst acne. I never had acne as a teenager and she was telling me she can help moisturize my face and I was reluctant because the last couple months I was trying every face wash and nothing worked . And just in my first treatment she cleared a lot of my acne and my face felt so hydrated oh em gee she’s the best definitely going back to her . Worth EVERY dollar . I recommend anyone with acne/ dry skin

I just moved DTLA and if this weren't the closest Ulta I would drive elsewhere. NO ONE greeted me here. I walked in and everyone seemed busy but there was clearly a floor rep at the front display to occupied to just say "welcome". Additionally the store was messy and disheveled, I roamed back in forth looking for two items only to leave with one because I was irraitated. Please let this get to the manager, I would come back only for the options available but it will be awhile before that happens.

I never write reviews but I had to because Angela is truly the best! I've had two facials by her so far and my skin has improved in just one month, compared to the months prior where my skin was getting worse. I am so amazed that I am already seeing results and I can't wait to see how my skin turns out as Angela continues to work with me. If anyone is having trouble with their skin and feel like they have tried everything, please go to Angela! She will have your skin glowing.

I came with my cousin to buy some makeup today and the security kept an eye out on us and it was super annoying. We went a couple stores down to chipotle to eat after we were done makeup shopping. We ended up going back after we were done eating because my cousin decided she didn’t want something she bought so we went to go return it and the security saw us and had the audacity to really say your still here honestly killed my experience here not even that like it was so rude!

Love the return policy and the rewards point of this company. Along that I can normally find everything I need. Sales associates aren't the best here. I've spent time walking around the store looking for something and sales people are just chatting away. I've even been told that the product I wanted "isn't my department" and didn't bother to find someone that was. I'm just happy that most of the time I actually need what I need and can just go in and grab it.

Just left and felt like I was being followed!! I was trying to color match myself in the Lancôme section and had an employee come over and start applying her lipliner in front of the mirror I was using...AND NEVER SAID EXCUSE ME...and she was definitely following me and She tried to play it off, by continually asking me for help...please get over yourself whoever that was, if I needed help I would have said yes the 13th time you asked

I come to this Ulta sometimes but I prefer the one in Culver City, you will be waiting awhile for a pickup order, employees won’t even acknowledge you, the one time I was acknowledged it was from a black woman, this location has majority Mexican employees & I also witnessed a weird situation that was towards a black employee. I only come here because they have good deals online occasionally. But the people here have attitudes.

I get at, people could be tired or exhausted dealing with sometimes difficult customers day-in and day-out, but I had to wait at the Aisle 7 for 30 min with the "Customer needs help" broadcasted several times at no avail. At some point I have requested a supervisor to intervene, who turned out to be so rude that I kinda felt guilty and apologetic for inconveniencing him. Hmmm - should I go there again?

I don't know who is in charge of hiring security here but treating customers with disrespect and chasing them around the store by some scary looking guards is the reason I won't be coming back here and I will tell my friends to stay away from here as well. P.S: It takes a thief to catch a thief and by that I mean the security has to be an ex convict and a gang member..I'm willing to bet on that

I love makeup! I don’t like how the security follows me around as if I’m going to steal something. I’m a 40-year-old mother of three and definitely not interested in ever stealing. Also, for the last three years EVERYTIME I would come to get my free birthday gift it was never available. I would shop here if I felt that they didn’t mistreat black people, so until then I will only give 3 stars.

Went to pick up an order Sunday August 29,2021 around 3:10 pa and the lady in charge of online pic up really rude she’s like your item is not ready for pick up I told yes it is here is the email I received then she check she’s like oh yeah is ready really rude not polite at all she is bad un customer service never had this issue and I always shop next time I will just have it delivered.

I think Ulta is so much better than Other large makeup beauty stores. They have great return policy and Ulta is super convenient and they’re never out of stock of the stuff that I want. The last three times I went to Sephora and they was sold out of items I want. Ulta is a winner for me and their prices are good. I always have Ulta points and coupons that come in the mail as well.

No one ever answers the phone. Things on the website say that this particular store has it in stock and went two different times and they didn’t have it! Update your inventory, what a waste of time. PLUS I even ordered it online for pick up (website still said they were in stock by the way) and the canceled my order. answer your phones and update inventory management seriously.

Went early when it opened, and one of the older staff members was basically useless. I asked basic questions and she wouldn't really answer but instead asked a question to me. Like, okay? I asked what was the best setting spray, preferably waterproof, and her reply was, "well... there were setting sprays everywhere". Definitely would not go back to this store.

I went in this location yesterday to exchange a mixup from an online order and every staff member I spoke with was kind and welcoming. In particular, the manager Hector went above and beyond to fix a mistake that wasn’t even made by his team. Just an all around stellar person with great customer service skills. Will definitely go back to this location again!

The services provided at Ulta are superb!!! Came here to improve my skin and Angela at Dermalogica skin bar is amazing and gives you valuable advice unto what to do for your skincare needs. Being that I have acne, I have seen an improvement in my face after my 1st visit with her for my facial! She absolutely is the best and has helped me gain confidence!

Horrible service, there wasn’t a lot of people. Employees were more busy talking about products for themselves instead of helping customers on the floor. Had inquired about a product and was briefly pointed in the direction. Even the cashier was unhelpful and unfriendly. Definitely recommend the West Hollywood location instead at least they are friendly.

Sales people are at best unhelpful but more often just rude. Displays are a mess and usually gross. Usually I cannot find what I need here. Nevertheless I spend a lot of cash here, so I would hope that the service would be a little better. Edit to reply to Ulta's reply: Please clean up the store! It's not really my job to tell your staff to do that.

I had just came from shopping at the Ross across the shopping center and wanted to stop by Ulta to purchase a new foundation. When I arrived I was looking around the store and I noticed an employee following me around, every time I would browse a different aisle he would appear out of nowhere, I felt watched and decided to leave the store.

Very good customer service. Ulta employees and security guards are always very friendly. Although the security guard who walks into all the stores at this shopping center and around the parking lot stood next to me while i was inside Ulta like if he was expecting me to shoplift. Very annoying, youre not the police youre a security guard.

Good size and assortment of things. People are friendly. Someone kept following me around. I don’t know if they thought I was gonna steal or what. I had my infant and a stroller and I’m a lazy runner. Plus they have shelves in the between aisles so it’s super easy to knock stuff over. Kind of a hazard and feel somewhat claustrophobic.

I came into Ulta to book a hair appointment but I ran into Angela & she convinced me to get a facial with her and I do not regret it. My face already feels smooth as it can be. I can’t wait to come in for my follow up. I got the Microdermabrasion and resurfacing peel and my face feels amazing. Love it. Definitely coming back to her.

The best esthetician ever. My skin has improved tremendously from my first visit. I got the Power Resurfacing Peel and fell in love with my skin. My skin is more clearer and glowing. We got there as they were closing because we could not find it's actually location, I didn't even know there was a top floor where there were shops. The associates did not rush us and gave us good suggestions, they all were very professional and seemed extremely knowledgable. Store was organized and well kept.

My experience in this store it was horrible because this girl bethsaida she was super rude. I pay for my things and she didn't even asked me if I wanted a bag when She knew I wasn't gonna be carrying that in my hands. She needs to learn more how to be more gentle or more experience with customer's service.

I love ulta and this is the closest store to my house, but god is the customer service awful here. They need to get their act together. Every time I go in nobody greets you and I have also never been asked if I need help. I honestly prefer taking the time to go to the ulta at Santa Monica instead of here.

A wonderful sales associate named Robin helped me pick out some new foundation and took the time to listen to my skin concerns and answer any questions I had. She also helped my friend with some hair care questions and was without a doubt the most helpful Ulta employee I’ve ever come across.. hands down!

Shopping experience was great! Very helpful and friendly staff. Their service was immediate, they were able to steer me toward the right products and, considering it was Christmas Eve, they were well stocked and had exactly what I needed including an eyeshadow palette that was on sale! They have everything there, the service is always good. Sometimes there are not enough of employees so you need to wait a bit if you need help. Everything is organized and they are good with returns. A lot of options for gifts too. They have men stuff too. A big parking lot so it’s good!

Went to buy some clipper oil to use on a squeaky elliptical machine. Lady at counter was cute and courteous. She asked me if my Mexican American girl was looking for hair while she was in the isle checking out hair oil or something. I just laughed and said not needed.

This is the dirtiest location I’ve ever been to unfortunately. Most of the prestige makeup displays are messy and the makeup testers are either dirty, destroyed or missing. This is a last resort location when you don’t feel like going far to pick up one or two things.
