I have natural African textured hair and it was damaged at the Ulta salon at the Westwood location. It was permanently straightened, either a hair relaxer was added without my permission or the stylist used a heating tool incorrectly. I also looked up the heating tool they used after the fact and the tool goes up to 450F and damage starts at 400F (Babyliss Pro, a light blue straightener). There was someone else complaining about the stylist while I was in the chair as well. It makes sense now. Your hair looks great when it is first done but you won't know it is severely damaged until after you leave unfortunately, as literally my curly hair was turned into straight hair forever and I only wanted this style temporarily. I went back a few times to discuss this with the stylist Terrell but the manager of the salon stated the stylist was not there and could not tell me when he would be in, Bianca maybe (name started with a B). She also tried to sell me expensive "repair" products that she knew would not work to fix the damage that was irreparable. I do not recommend coming here based on this experience alone. This was some time ago but the point is even years after my hair's health has suffered and I had to retransition all over again due to damage. I have proof of this at the time point, the length of my hair, and all the time and money I spent trying to see if it would improve and the time for it go grow back natural again. This was terrible. Only now has it grown back natural to the length it was before. This is just a warning to consider regarding the health of your hair.

Was in yesterday for the "soft opening". Store is nice, staff very friendly and helpful, but the check out process was terrible. I know they're just opening so they are still working out their kinks, but it took way longer than it should have. First off there were 2 girls checking people out, and 3 others scrambling around. After the customer in front of me finished the cashier was wandering around looking confused, and then finally another cashier came up to check me out. All of the girls are talking about what the shift is supposed to end. Apparently there was some confusion on how late they were all supposed to be scheduled since it was a Sunday and there was a soft opening event. During my check out the process was interrupted two times by the manager coming up and the cashier conversing with her. The first time was related to what time they are scheduled to, and the second time I don't remember. It was definitely not a time pressing topic and should have waited. It was just really irritating because everyone was more worried about what time they will leave rather than giving attentive service. The cashier was not able to multi-task speaking with the manager and checking me out, so this slowed the process down a lot.

Just shopped at this store for the second time and the manager Kryste'au (or so her badge said) was so RUDE. I went in there to exchange a lipliner and purchase other things. The first time I went there, it was pleasant. Customer service was great, except for the fact that I was not given a smashbox freebee with my $35 dollar purchase which was no biggy, because I went in there today anyway. So I let the manager know that the first time I came in here, I did not get the free item, with attitude she says, "Well, you're getting it now.." I was thrown off. I was like, "okaaaay...." Like are you serious? Then I purpusely picked up 2 OPI nailpolishes because there was a sign with a promotion of 2/$16. It did not ring up with the promotion, I tell her and she told me to just wait that she needed to have her associate check it and see if it was expired. Again, I said, "okaaaay..that's what the sign said, so that's why I picked these items up.." Finally the associate tells her that the nail polishes were in fact on sale. She finishes up my exchange/purchase and the whole time her demeanor is unwelcoming and unpleasant. Like this is your job, why do you have so much attitude? Will think twice before coming here.

Ulta is Ulta, no matter which one you go to. They have everything you can possibly need for your beauty, body, and hair needs. Amazing brands and great deals all the time. I personally like it more than Sephora. Opening one in Westwood, near UCLA, is huge for the locals, students, and employees in the area! The interior is beautiful and has a really high ceiling which I love. I came to the very first day of the soft opening and received 20% my whole purchase. They were dealing with minor computer glitches, but that's expected on the first day. Customer service was fantastic and I look forward to going back whenever I get an itch to buy something new. They have full beauty salon in the downstairs area of this Ulta. I didn't get a chance to check it out yet, but I might go back and get some services during this opening time since the deals are so great. Apparently they have parking in the back of the building as well as meter parking in the surrounding streets. Welcome Ulta to Westwood!!

The hair stylist khilani is super unprofessional and knows nothing about textured hair. Yesterday I went to the salon to get a keratin hair treatment to treat my breakage and rather than just admitting that she didn’t know what she was doing she tried to tell me, the customer, that I don’t know what I want when I have gotten several keratin hair treatments at the recommendation of my regular hair stylist. I’m soo lucky I was able to beg my hair stylist to get me in bc my vacation is on Friday and she almost ruined my entire trip. I don’t think this woman understands how important hair is to black women. She completely disregarded me and sent me off. What a horrible experience. I was looking forward to a salon treatment sooo much, if u want better a better hair salon treatment go to Ben Yukon. He is a professional and he address all my concerns and my hair looks amazing no thanks to kilani — definitely comes off racist when u don’t know how to treat or respect black customers.

No but yes. The place has enough product. It’s safe and has security. Sometime the shelves look super empty and don’t have as much product as other stores. I always go to the “other store” So i don’t have an account with them. They asked me for my account i said that I didn’t have one. And the girl told me i should sign up and I said I didn’t want to because i don’t come there often. She backed off but then her manager came over and said “you should really consider getting one because if you don’t have one you can’t return your items, we understand that you work hard for your money and we want you to make sure you get it back.” I understand that he works with mostly college kids but I’m very successful. And If you really cared about my money I wouldn’t need an account to return my items. He also hounded younger about sales when they weren’t interested and did this to every customer that came in.

Terrible haircut. The person I was supposed to get a haircut switched because she had overbooked. Then the person I had cutting my hair would not listen to anything I wanted. She kept saying no to everything and doing something else instead. Didn’t pay attention to my hair type and didn’t give me the hair cut type I booked for (I booked a curly cut with a protein treatment and instead got a straight haircut (it’s supposed to curl by curl) with a conditioner). I was getting a cut for my hair which is curly and she wouldn’t listen to anything I asked for instead saying no that won’t work, we will do this instead (this was for everything for the length of my hair, the amount and length of layers, the length of my bangs, the style of my bangs). My bangs are also cut very noticeably uneven. I would not recommend booking Nina if you want any say in your haircut.

This was the first time going to Ulta to get my makeup done professionally, so I was a little nervous to go in. When I went in though, I felt really welcome to the salon. Kalani greeted me and was the makeup artist/stylist that helped me. I was initially just getting my makeup done for a formal for a school organization. However, I wasn’t able to fully do my hair on my own before and she noticed it. She asked me if I also wanted to a blowout and waves, I gladly accepted. She was incredibly kind and flexible. She checked in with me throughout the process of doing my makeup to make sure I liked how it was turning out. Overall, the service was wonderful and I LOVE how my hair and makeup turned out. Needless to say, I fully trust her to with my hair and makeup.

On opening weekend, the manager was so extraordinarily rude. Between the soft opening and the grand opening I had already shopped there 3 times. Only today was there a turn off. With a soft opening, there is bound to be some sort of mess so I wasn’t bothered but today, and with specifically the manager, I’m now quite turned off from shopping here. She interacted with me with such an unprofessional and rude manner and it doesn’t seem like the employees quite enjoy her either so, if she’s going to keep being behind the register/on the floor then I would best avoid even going here. I was excited for a closer ulta but I will continue taking my business to the Culver City ulta with a much better customer service trained staff/managers.

DO NOT GO HERE!!! The woman who I believe is a manager is a racist. She's an older woman. thin frame, brown shoulder length hair. I've seen it multiple times and I'm finally over it. She allows white women to shop freely but heaven forbid a POC with a backpack walks in, she has security follow them behind, discreetly and if they don't she will. I saw her basically run to the same aisle a POC was shopping because she was 1000% sure they were going to steal. EVERY SINGLE TIME, no one steals anything, they pay for their things and leave. She even puts on this front once at register and signs them up for rewards. ULTA is a fine store but no one should have to put up with racial profiling. I'M SICK OF IT!

First of all I called ahead to make sure their stock of what I wanted was accurate. When I got the confirmation that it was, I headed there. When I arrived, there was ZERO parking and am not entirely sure why two POD moving storage containers took up 4-5 spaces but fine. Parked after circling a few times, went in to grab what I needed and of course it was sold out. However; on the app it says available and again I confirmed before heading there since it was about 35-40 mins away one-way. VERY disappointed that I drove all the way there, fought for parking and left empty handed. Needless to say I will not be returning.

I work close to here came in my lunch break to get my mother in law a gel, she didn’t end up liking it. The gel was $50 I didn’t need it so and she didn’t want it so I came to return on the same day. The purchase was made with the manager who was very pleasant and polite. When I came to return, Kryste, helped me. She wasn’t as polite as the manager (shocker). She seemed annoyed and irritable to be helping me. She mumbled and gave not so friendly looks. It was my first time at this location and I wasn’t impressed. I’d rather take a drive to the Fox hills mall.

Kahlani Henley is a phenomenal stylist and even better person. I came in with a photo to change my hair color from black to icy white. Kahlani did everything possible, in the most ethical way to guarantee I reached my goal before I left. I love my hair and I love working with Kahlani. I am honored to with her and I will refer as many people as possible to her. Kahlani Henley is a consummate professional and a perfect representation of quality service. Ulta is better because Kahlani Henley is there.

The clerk helped me find just the right hair products for a friend with curly hair. What I really liked is there were several options at several different price points and I was shown all of them to make the best choice. The store was very wealthy and it was easy to find everything. I was overwhelmed with the choices, so I was grateful for knowledgeable clerks who were eager to help. Street parking wasn't too bad and they were nearby pay parking options.

Hazel did an amazing job on my highlights. She actually fixed my orange roots from a previous hair stylist mistake and at not much extra cost. She was super friendly and clearly explained what she was doing to my hair. So impressed! I have been going to Ulta for my highlights for 3 years now in 3 different states and many locations. She is hands down going to give you a good service. She is also now my new hairdresser

The Ulta store in Westwood Village would not let me make a return without joining their membership program. Beyond ridiculous. The sales associate asked me to sign up as an Ulta member FIVE times even when I kept politely declining. Then she said she could not do a return unless I was a member. Annoying customer service and will not be going back. Also the return was from less than 24 hours prior.

Came here on Thanksgiving, it was nice and empty. Staff was super nice and polite. So much better than WeHo location that gets insanely packed. The girl that helped us was very knowledgeable and helpful. She wasn't just pushing things on us. She knew all about the products. One BOGO free item only had one item available and my daughter was bummed, she quickly offered us half price for that 1 item.

They had the stuff I wanted but giving 2 stars because it took forever for me to find while the store employees actively avoided helping me. This store used to have employees that were very helpful and knew which products were good. They also used to check with you to make sure you found everything you needed while checking out. Super disappointed in this experience.

Ok if you are looking for a great hair dresser that will do everything right and make you feel like a million bucks . Kalani is the BEST …you need to stop what your doing and book an apointment with her . She is one of a kind . She can fulfill every hair need and to exactly what you want a more . And honestly this was the best customer service I have had in a while

High-priced, which is normal for an Ulta. Tons of great products, but it can be tricky trying to navigate the store and find what you're looking for. The workers are so nice and willing to help you find what you need! They were even able to find a brow liner that matched my mum's hair color (since her eyebrows are so light that you can hardly tell she has any)!

The service here is unfortunately not comparable to other beauty stores because they are SO great! The security guards, Michelle, Moriah and Becky are just a few of the names of staff that I can remember who were super helpful. Returns are easy and the restrooms are very clean and tidy. AAA+++ Parking is very available, at least in the mornings when I’ve gone.

I got no greeting upon entering, and I liked that they didn't hassle me or follow me around the store, however, I literally had to hunt the girl down twice to ask for help. Then when she DID help me, she acted like she didn't feel like being bothered. Other than the customer service, it's a nice store (one of their smaller ones). I love Ulta!

The selection isn't the best but they've got the staples. If you're out of a basic they've probably got it, but it's definitely a smaller location. The staff is a hit or miss so let's focus on the nice folks. Usually super friendly and helpful! You can definitely ask them for assistance, even if it's just where something is.

Always a quick in and out because I aways get the same products and I know where they're kept. Sales people are always walking around ready to help. I always have a little trouble finding parking, but on my most recent visit I noticed they have a parking lot. Hopefully its not Employees only, ill give it a shot next time.

No hair color at all unlike most others. Half the staff sweet. Half are rude and condescending. ULTA is usually sweet employees, but this had a few Sephora type attitudes. Decent selection of all else but the hair color. Clean store. Super sweet security guard greets you as you come in. It's nice

I recommend walking in and doing the free sign up to get your annual free beauty gift on your birthday. Yes, some things in life are free. No tax on this too! What differentiates from Sephora I think is that they have a hair salon downstairs and are a little different vibe.

Safe during vivid period. Hand sanitizer a everywhere and all clients in store abide by all rules. No testers out so know exactly what you want. Staff are friendly and helpful.
