"As others have said, it is a huge hassle to get in here"
"The employees were nice, but if you need immediate service don’t go here because you have to go through security to get into the building and then there’s only one employee sometimes so if they’re out to lunch it’s just closed and nobody in the outside of the building will tell you then"
"It is an experience I never want again"
"This is a tiny USPS in a federal building"
Do not go here unless you are a federal employee working in this building. It is behind strict airport-level security (empty pockets, no shoes, no belt, no sharp objects) and large sealed packages (like those you might bring to a post office) have to be sniffed by a bomb dog at the curb. Though technically open to the public it is not a legitimate public post office.
As others have said, it is a huge hassle to get in here. Why anyone would think it would be a good idea to have a usps in a building that's suspicious of packages, I will never know. To just quickly drop off a small package you need to go through a bomb sniffing dog and take off your clothes.
The employees were nice, but if you need immediate service don’t go here because you have to go through security to get into the building and then there’s only one employee sometimes so if they’re out to lunch it’s just closed and nobody in the outside of the building will tell you then.
It is an experience I never want again. From the “take off your belt and shoes” search, the yelling among the federal workers (one of which literally walked off the job!) to the tiny, room that housed the POST OFFICE and the machine which broke when I went to pay…pure an hour of hell.
This is a tiny USPS in a federal building. They make you go through full security like you’re at an airport. The process is slow and the USPS is small. Don’t go here - there’s a FedEx Ship center a block away, or a USPS on Canal in Soho
Is it possible for them to have a street-level entrance to the post office, bypassing federal building security? The absence of a post office in this area makes it crucial for people seeking postal services in this area.
I'm sure it works great for federal building employees but it's not fun to have to take your shoes off to go through security when all you want is to mail a package. absolutely not recommended for general public.
Don’t bother wasting your time walking there. They make you go thru security and wait to have your package sniffed by canines. It’s a waste of time and effort
It's convenient if you work in the area. It can be somewhat a hassle going through security, but after that, you're in and out. The staff are usually helpful.
It’s a federal building with airport level security to get into the building. Don’t bother.
