This review is from 4 years ago but to this day I can’t step foot at the counter. I came to this post office to postmark a letter/documents that needed to be sent by a certain date. I asked the heavy set Jamaican lady with glasses working at the counter that day to send the letter out for me in this manner and she raised her tone and said she could not do that. I was puzzled by her response so I asked her how can I postmark or send the letter so that it would reach on time. All she had to do is assist me with options on how to mail out the letter instead she was rude. Someone like this should not work at the counter. No customer service or respect. She should be in the back of the post office dealing with letters and packages. I ended up having to go to another post office and send my letter express. I needed assistance minus the attitude.
I grew up in Cambria Heights I am now 40 and have returned to take over my family home. What hurts to see is how instead of something getting better. It has drastically gotten worse. I've never had so much mail and packages lost or late in my life. When you call you're met with rude staff. I had a lady argue with me on the phone about my package being delivered when I was home for weeks and nothing was delivered for it only to be delivered a week later by another employee. Oh and since when do we change postal service employees in this neighborhood I now have someone new every day. Tax dollars keep this place open. What is happening?! This neighborhood has always been a middle class hard working neighborhood. Why doesn't our post office reflect that!? This would neve happen in Franklin Square.
My 87 yr. old mother visited this PO THREE times, beginning in Oct. to submit the form to have mail forwarded to another address for the two months (Dec. thru Feb.) that she would be visiting her sister in CA. she continued to be assured her mail would be forwarded to CA. For TWO months, her mail was delivered to her NY address & thankfully, her neighbor was kind enough to retrieve / hold it for her. In my mom's absence, my brother went to the PO to explain the situation, to no avail. Her mail was never forwarded to CA. Imagine having to go thru 2 mos. of mail upon your return from vac.! What a nightmare!! You'd think that someone there would have at least had the decency to call, apologize, and explain what went wrong & what to due in the future to avoid the oversight, right.....NOPE!!!
Every time I go there I have a terrible experience. The mail man who delivers the mail is awesome and so is one of the ladies at office but other than that the place is a nightmare. They delivered my package to the wrong place twice and was not even apologetic. When I go to speak to them in person the supervisor is rude and standoffish. I have never written a review about a place in my life but I'm angry. I work hard for my money to buy things not for them to lose it or deliver to the wrong place. The customer service is terrible and they never answer the phone. They do not care about the people in the neighborhood. It's so sad to not be able to trust your own post office. Every time I order someothing online im scared I might not get it because of the post office.
ZERO STARS. Rude light skin lady with terrible frontal wig(it was lifting) sitting far left refusing to do basic post office duties, started yelling and talking loud like we are in a street argument when I just wanted a simple money order to pay my bills… very unprofessional, absolutely insubordinate she’s a liar and said the manager was not there also refused to give her name. Also she walked out angrily in the middle of transaction… meanwhile she was on the phone the whole time tried to send me to a different post office lucky another clerk saw what happened and helped out like they are supposed to do in our community. This branch is a hot mess waste of time and very disrespectful.
Worse post office in the United States. Customer service is horrible, the manager is horrible, the postman who delivers the man leaves packages at my front door without knocking. Postmaster for this branch needs to be fired. This is the only post office in New York that is visibly dirty with caked up sadist everywhere. This is the only post office that makes people wait hours to get a package scheduled for pickup. Please avoid this branch by any means possible. Don't allow anyone to ever do business with this branch. Just because we are in a African American community doesn't mean they don't have to keep the standards of other post offices in New York
The worst customer service ever. The employees have nasty attitudes. They open up late while a line accumulates in the lobby. The state that they’re short because 2 people called out sick. They snicker at the people for complaining about their poor service. There are 3 windows and every single time I come here there’s only one teller working at the window who moves like a sloth. I stand on line for a minimum of 35 minutes just to ship a box. The only thing convenient about this place is the location. Otherwise I’ll go to the post office close to where I work if I don’t feel like dealing with the incompetence.
Why hasn’t this place been shut down? They continue to put new hires on my home route. The drivers change every few months. Claiming the couldn’t deliver the package and left a notice. Yet the bell never rang and I’ve seen them deliver packages to the wrong address consistently. The post office itself is awful. The staff are extremely rude. If you don’t want the job. Then quit. We as customers didn’t hire you or force you to come in. And there are 3-5 people and three windows yet 98% of the time it’s one window in service. Fire this staff and bring is some real employees who want to be here.
Okay, my dog has been out more recently; that’s out of my control I’m not home usually. I ordered a package off ebay and the postal worker won’t deliver any of my mail. Today (1/30/20) I made sure he wasn’t outside, and also yesterday (1/29/20), you would think that would be a cake walk for anyone who’s afraid of dogs. Even though every gate was closed and there was no trace of an animal outside they refuse to deliver any of my mail. Why even put it on the truck knowing full well you’re not going to deliver it ? Try leaving it at the post office so I can pick it up and do your job for you !
Horrible customer service, one of the clerk is always rude, when the main mail man who delivers my mail is away on vacation, my packages don't get delivered when its supposed to . They attempt to deliver packages before business hours and put "package delivered" in their system when it was not even delivered. They never ever answer the phone. I'm hoping something will be done about it very soon. That one star is just for the regular mail man who's great. But Enough is enough with the mediocre service that us post office in Cambria Heights provides.
Negative 5 stars! To the rude light skin lady with the wig/weave/hair hat! I had a letter envelope that I placed in the teller slot after this specimen took my package. This specimen takes the letter from the slot, looks at it and vehemently throws it back through the slot and the letter flies through the slot and onto the floor. This was borderline assault. This specimen in a postal uniform is lucky that I’m saved. Beyond rude and disrespectful. It’s very sad that this is what our fellow black people do to one another. Shameful!
As a result of misdelivery of package with a priority status Sunday (11/10), package had to be re-mailed on Monday to recipient traveling out of state at recipient’s expense. No compensation. No courtesy. No reimbursement. Manager didn’t have the common decency to come to the window, but sent a message that he’d talk to staff member who made 2 misdeliveries on same block same day!!! (No doubt on overtime pay) Lack of management, respect and accountability. Counter staff did try to help though. common decency to
The staff here are deplorable, they’re rude, impatient and unprofessional. There was a clerk who angrily rushed elderly patrons to walk faster to her window while another associate Tori took a phone call at the window, then subsequently walked off while in the middle of a transaction and returned with an attitude. The service has been dwindling and it’s disheartening. We are in the middle of a pandemic, times are hard but it takes nothing to just treat each other with respect.
I have been here several times for past 2 years including this morning. One teller was friendly, the other a little distant but still professional. When it gets crowded, I think we get impatient and then we feel they are not very friendly. Maybe they been having a bad day, just like us, maybe their frustrated bc short of staff. It always helps when the actual post office gets more personnel, makes all more smoothly and good for both the employees and us.
This is the WORST post office ever! The staff is extremely rude and unprofessional, the manager has the nastiest attitude. They constantly hire new people who obviously have no proper knowledge of the routes and I’ve had so many of my important packages & mail delivered to the wrong address consistently. I’ve called corporate many times to resolve this issue and nothing seems to change.
The worst Post Office ever they never get the phone and when they do they have poor Customer Service. I have experienced Lost packages not understanding why they have not considered new leadership. Cambria Heights is a middle class to up scale area. We do not deserve this disservice in our community. Honestly Due to the website Engine I had to give this review one star.
Haven't been to all the post offices in the US but I'm sure this one ranks top 5 worst. Package says available for pick up but when I get there they say it's on the delivery truck but it was never delivered and I was instructed to come back to pick it up the next day. How does that even make sense?
What’s happening to my post office I arrived there last thurs & Fri at 4:00pm & post office was closed their supposed to close at 5 , & I agree with the other reviews the nasty attitude among the employees is discussing , rude, I hate going there probably try st albans
This post office needs to hire more people. It is not fair that there is three windows, yet only one person is working. On top of that, the staff has terrible attitudes, which means subpar customer service.
Terrible. They never answer their phones and they give you the run around when they deliver the package to the wrong place. Worst Experience I've Ever Had. Never Using The USPS Again
The people here at the location are not friendly I'm thankful for my courrier she great... Constumer service and people skills are needed as well as wanting to be there to work ...
This is a horribly run Post office. Never pick up their phone, wrong mail delivered consistently and regular mail arrives at 8:30 pm when the main mail carrier is off.
I lost two packages with this post office. There are three windows yet only one person is working. The lines are long and it is very frustrating.
Its 2016!!! Still Never answers the phone. Poor Services. Must be changed immediately it's unacceptable for all of Cambria heights.
This is the absolute worst post office I have ever to. It is so bad that I can no longer bring myself to patronize them.
They never answer the phone and say they deliver your packages and your home all day and nothing was delivered...
Friendly staff that have been there for years and have a great repoir with customers. Very crowed on Saturday.
They never answer their phone and they don’t let me know when my package is coming online. USPS is the worst
They must not know how to pick up the phone...can't get anything done with this post office #Inconvenience
How do you not have access to a location? I live in a separated house with no gate on a main street.
Package order say delivery before ..they actually been delivered.. How does that work for you..
No one answers the phone! And when they do they just pick up and hang up!!! Ridiculous
The Five stars are for a clerk who's name is Kalimah, Great customer service.
Short line.Helpful friendly staff. It was a pleasure.
They make it impossible to speak with a human being.
They never answer the phone. Poor customer service!
