Certified mail not delivered and lost. How can this even happen? Supervisor Kevin Tyson is completely incapable of resolving issues and is rarely there. Postmaster Tera Witherspoon is also unavailable to speak with. Been to the location 4 times now and not once has anyone apologized or offered even an idea of what can be done. An actual postman on my route said that this location was horribly run and mismanaged. The reason it is so frustrating is that the time sensitive material we paid to have protected and delivered promptly has now cost me $15000. Tampering with mail is a federal offense! None of the protocols were followed and it is disgraceful how difficult it is to communicate with this branch. I have no faith this matter will be resolved. They won't even answer the phone. Check the 39 other reviews. This is not an isolated incident. A 1 star rating on a post office is just terrible. It is a public resource and this amount of negligence should be criminal. I will be filing a detailed complaint. Good luck if you have to depend on these people with sensitive material. THEY DO NOT CARE. ****update**** Kevin Tyson found my mail and called me. My frustration was warranted. Still a terrible experience. They definitely need a better team there. I do not believe he should be fired any longer. He did not however ever apologize for the hours of inconvenience.
This is by far the definition of a waste of our taxed dollars. USPS handed out our personal mail to a random gentleman without even verifying there identity! After speaking with upper management and following up 3 different times, we have yet to hear any feedback on rectifying the situation. For USPS to express how important your PERSONAL and BUSINESS MAIL security is, is a complete joke. When I went on 10/7 to pick up my mail they didn't even verify my identity, yet the photo below explicitly states they verify all identity when mail is being released. I went today on 10/16, again to pick up my mail (as they refuse to deliver my mail or my neighbors mail), and they began to refuse to release my mail. They simply stated they would not give me any of my mail because my addresses don't match. I have just moved in to my new apartment and have not had the chance to go change my ID, let alone in the state of NC my new ID would be mailed, so there was no way to verify regardless. After arguing back and forth for over 25 minutes, they went and got ONE piece of my mail. I asked for the remaining pieces and once again, they refused. This is ridiculous and USPS should be ashamed to have any of them associated with there company.
Like others have said, I'm only giving one star because zero isn't an option. First of all, this place looks like where you go to get abducted. When you try to call, the phone rings several times before giving you a busy signal. Why have a phone number if you're not going to bother answering? From what I saw/heard when I went to this location in person, you're not too busy to answer the phone. Extremely unprofessional and rude behavior from all employees. If this is the modern US Postal Service, it's no wonder my apartment complex has had several packages vanish into thin air recently. We had a substitute mail carrier for the past few weeks, and I and at least 10 of my fellow residents had packages marked as delivered that never showed up in that time. We strongly suspect theft, for which I've reported this location and its employees to the OIG, but of course who knows if anything will come of that. One thing's for sure, though; I'll be keeping an extremely close eye on all my future deliveries. Between the aforementioned missing (stolen) packages and my visit to this location, I have no trust left in the USPS, especially not in anyone who works at this location. This place should be inspected and shut down.
Called them (3717 Eastway location) about my package being a day late with the "Business Closed" message even though it was supposed to be delivered to a home address. I was told to come pick it up, but upon arrival, the lady at the window said that the man I spoke with on the phone said that it was being delivered by a carrier and that "all [she] knew was that 'business closed' means that it will be delivered the next day." I guess it's too hard to just apologize and say that they made a mistake; instead, making it my fault for coming there was the better solution. It was delivered at around 6PM to the WRONG ADDRESS, and since it was delivered so late, I couldn't call them to get the situation fixed. If you are able to and you live in the East Charlotte area, please do yourself a favor and choose a different shipping service. This is the fourth consecutive time that my package has been delivered late by USPS, and each time it was supposed to be delivered in two days with Amazon Prime shipping.
Package was randomly placed in a locker, only to be returned to the sender a week later. I never received any notification on why the package was forwarded to a locker, nor was I provided with any information in which I could pick up the package or retrieve the item from said locker (this was all information given to me afterward, once they had sent my package back). Unbelievable. And then you call and it's busy for 2 hours straight... Edit: Feb 13, 2018 -- this place is still the absolute worst. They've lost multiple packages since this review was posted, and I'd rather get a colonoscopy from a blind mind armed with a trident than have to deal with these people. I'm actually in the process of moving to the other side of the city just so I can get away from the Independence Annex and get some decent f'n service. Unbelievable.
This location needs to be closed for the pain and argosy they put customers through. They open at 10am; start scanning packages as missed deliveries by 10: 20am. I jump in the car as soon as I get " delivery attempt failed" notification and head there. All the vans are stilled parked and being loaded. Not a single one had left. I asked for manager, he/she never showed. A lady comes to tell me if delivery person is female, she won't carry heart boxed. Four days layer I order paper, package is the size of manilla envelope. Marked as " failed delivery attempt". How heavy is a manilla envelope. I work from home, for all 4 packages in 2 weeks, no delivery attempt was made. The workers thought it was funny to close the door and laugh loudly when I called them out on the lies and terrible practice. This place needs to be closed!
You can never get in touch when you call. They deliver packages that are suspicious and require a police pick-up. They have returned mail to senders when it is addressed to me at the correct address (and never forwarded me my mail from my previous address). They deliver packages when there are notes on the door that state 'Please do not deliver when no one is here' because they are picked up by random people walking down the street. This has happened numerous times when I have Amazon packages delivered and I have to constantly call and file a claim to get another shipment sent. Today, I was home all day except for the 20 minutes I was out walking my dog, and apparently the package was delivered to my door and was subsequently stolen within a matter of 10 minutes.
I am missing mail from a week ago I signed up for Informed Delivery so I know exactly what mail I am missing. After 7 phone calls to the Eastway Branch (where my mail comes from) someone finally picked up. I told them my concern over my missing mail and have now been on hold for 35 minutes. I called the main post office (with my cell phone) I am still on hold on my landline (have on speaker phone). They picked up right away and apologized for the Eastway Office. She gave me 3 phone numbers for Consumer Affairs. I have called all 3 phone numbers and was told with each call that their mailbox was full. Your customer service is in dire need of an overhaul! My mail carrier was out for a week and this is how the substitutes handle our mail when she is out. Ridiculous!
This Post Office has to be the worst I've ever encountered. I agree with all the aforementioned statements, we get our mail maybe once or twice a week, if at all. We have had countless packages not delivered since moving here. We've received some dated mail - albeit important time sensitive documents, literally weeks later. And when I call the office to speak with an employee, the phone is never answered. Additionally, we see one particular USPS employee parked at the end of our street during mail delivery time playing on her phone for hours at a time. I would encourage anyone with outstanding issues to file a complaint with the BBB.
Terrible customer service. When you call, you get a busy signal or you get NO answer. Just rings and rings. And good luck getting any service when you go there in person. Last time I went, I had to lay on the doorbell 6 times, over a 25 minute period, before they finally answered. Then, this woman finally answered, seeming dazed and confused like she had no idea what was going on. She was not friendly and offered no apology for the wait. She just said that it was hard for them to hear the doorbell. Really??!! If their business is doorbell driven, then they need to get a loud one so customers can be heard. What a lame system.
Mail carrier keeps leaving a 'sorry we missed you' card for a certified letter, but never knocked on the door!!! I've been here WITH my mother since I had surgery 2 weeks ago and know, no one has attempted to deliver whatever it is at all!! I tried calling to complain but of course that rings 'busy'!! This is unlawful and this site needs investigated! Not too mention they continue to leave mail for others when the names of those in the house are clearly posted!! Even when I write return to sender, they still deliver others mail!! Can your carriers and sorters even read??!!
I have been in contact with the station manager, Eric Wall, for several weeks. However, it is an exercise in frustration. The only phone number I have for him just rings and rings, is never answered, does not have voice mail. I have to discuss delivery to a business and can not get through to take care of this. There is no other number, no other way to reach this annex. No wonder the private services are being preferred - they at least let their customers contact them. Put bluntly, if there were a way to avoid using the post office at all, I would pay to do it!
Horrible customer service. Package was supposed to be delivered to my apartment, they claimed there was an error, while trying to deliver it. I was sitting at home waiting on the package. Went to this horrific location, did just as the 1-800 number CS rep said," Just show your ID." Show ID, they need tracking number, gave them that and they still can't find it. Smfh!! You all need to retrain your employees in customer service. If they don't like their job, tell them to leave. Someone needs to do something about this. SHUT THIS LOCATION DOWN FOR PICK UP.
It seems my review is pretty consistent with all the others. Nothing more to say other than this location sucks. Haven't gotten mail delivered in 4 days. Last week at 6:30 in the evening saw one postal worker walking on the opposite side of the street with a headlamp on talking on her cell phone complaining that supervisors expect her to be able to read property addresses at 6:30 at night. She never even delivered the rest of the mail just walked to her truck and left. Government workers at their finest. No wonder they're constantly broke.
Down right despicable place, employees and supervisors!! I have filed two change of address forms and no one can tell me where my mail is?? I filed the first one on 5/22/17 and proceed to purchase a po box and haven't received mail. Just to find out two weeks ago that the forms I filed didn 't go through? Just to fill out forms again and wait another two weeks or so and still nothing!! Supervisor never return call, they all lied about this or that. I has been very disappointing dealing with them.
May be one of my worst post office experiences ever. They lost 2 packages in the same day that were marked delivered to me when they clearly were not. Had my apartment management co open all the lockers here and it was not in any. So I went in they took my info said they’d ask the carrier, which they clearly didn’t and never called back. Called the office 8 times in 3 days no one answers. USPS National is no bueno either as they opened a case going nowhere. Worst customer service use FedEx.
This is ridiculous!!!! I have had to order my package twice now and we get our packages delivered to our complex from this location. The post man complains how he would have to go back through each post box to see if he left it in other buildings. Do your job right and you wouldn’t have a one star review from people. Playing with peoples money time and emotions. Let me find out your stealing people’s packages and I will file a federal case against you. Thatt is seven plus years!!!!
Call and call and call and no one answers. Finally when I get through the 16th time calling, I am greeted by someone who does not seem thrilled to be there and help me out. I am calling because I am missing mail that has not been delivered from this location, as well as mail that was sent back to sender because my address was "incorrect" however it was not at all. She lets me know she is going to get back to me in a day, 3 days later have not heard anything. AWFUL!!!!
Terrible customer service! And they loose packages!! They marked my package delivered on Dec 10th, then undeliverable on the same day. I call every few days and get the same response, they don't have my package and will get more info and call back. THEY NEVER CALL BACK. Its dec 27th and i still dont have my package! I ordered it to arrive 15 days early for Christmas and it still missed Christmas. I'm livid with everyone i have spoken to here.
they dont pick up the phone. ....ever. and if they do ....(i experienced only one time them pick up the phone out of 35 different times calling)...they seemed nice, took my name , my tracking # , the address and name of the recipient of my parcel (including his phone number) and said they would track down my package. well, they didnt.... and apparently they just tracked down a way to turn off the ringer on the office phone :( **thumbs down
0 stars. We had our mail held for 2 weeks while on our honeymoon and they “lost” it, but I’m sure it was stolen, since it contained wedding gifts. We tried to pick it up three days in a row, getting varying responses of: the carrier still has it, I’ll let my supervisor know, and it’s at another location. We’ve filed a claim, spoken with supervisors, and talked to our mail carriers, but no one seems to know or care where our mail is.
Lazy, unhelpful, pathetic. Online, they tell me my packages went out, but my business was closed. It's a CONDO and I was home! No second delivery, no note, no help. I don't have any idea how to get the items I ordered. I work, so it will be hard to venture over to this brainless establishment. They don't even pick up the phone. When they do they just hang up. In other words, everything you'd expect in post office.
I have attempted to call this location over the last 2 days and every time I try to reach an operator it rings and I'm then disconnected. I have attempted this over the span of 6 hours and 26 individual calls. I was advised to contact this location with regard to potential mail/theft. Unbelievable that one cannot access an individual for assistance. When possible I will never use the US postal service.
They lost my package. They never told me they lost my package it’s now a month late. When I try to contact their office they won’t answer and the one time they didn’t answer they hung up on me. If I could give less than one star I would. This is the most disrespectful and cowardly thing I can thing a mail service provider can do. You screwed up USPS,answer the damn phone!
The carriers on this route are rude. They disrespect my lawn daily by walking on it leaving tracks. I have informed mail. That is never delivered and a lot of it is financial. Packages they said that they delivered that I never received. Over the years I have experienced really bad service from this post office. They need to be revamped. Or closed. I have it all on ring.
The carrier for the hillock estates complete homeless community steals mail they delivered my mail to the leasing office and my previous residence is a business that will not let me change my address and they withheld mail and they kept my mail sent to leasing office and then broke into my apartment and put the mail in my house by leasing staff illegally
Is this even a full post office? I have no idea... because they don't answer the phone. after the first set of unsuccessful attempts the line just goes to a busy signal that never hours away. I guess I'm going to have to leave an hour early in case I have to go to the one on Albemarle that's out of my way and always packed. Fantastic.
They lost my new passport and I caught a carrier on camera stealing cash from my mailbox (sold something to a neighbor). Mail carrier reported and no repercussions, not even reassigned to another area. Having to pay to have my passport reissued and sending to my parents because this USPS district can’t be trusted.
They sent me a text saying that package would be delivered and it didn't show up. It is a few days later and the tracker still says the package is on time and will be delivered on on the previous old date. Nobody has answered the phones. I made a formal complaint and i have not got a response.
I have the daily app I see my mail posted each day just not receiving it I have had some important mail to come and still haven’t received it I’ve tried calling but my calls are always saying that they are busy I’ve made over 30 calls today and still haven’t gotten in touch with anyone
I’ve been emailed that my mail has been delivered into my box which it has not I have gotten no help what so ever so now I’m losing work over this matter which I’m not going to take lightly. Im about to bring the news and beyond to this matter. Hidden cameras installed in my box
well I guess I'm the only 5 star rating here but so be it lol. I called, phone was answered, I stated my concern respectfully, and it was handled successfully. The woman on the phone was nice and the mail carrier I spoke with in person was very nice and pleasant to speak with.
I really wish there was a zero star option. What’s the point of having a phone if no one answers? Hire better representatives that don’t steal packages. And also To the “manager” please don’t tell someone you’ll call them back when you don’t mean it. So frustrated.
Very poor service. Missing at least Two packages within the last two weeks. Tracking says it’s been delivered but the driver has no clue what mailbox he’s putting my packages in. Call the office, receive poor customer service. Never get a call back as they say they will do.
These hours are ridiculous. How do they expect people to get packages on a certain day if their hours open and close while I’m still at work. When I did find time to get my package however the guy working there was very helpful and helped to load the packages into my car.
No answer on door? Here is tip, Just kick right bottom of the wooden door and you will instantly get their attention. How many? 5. And if they don't come out continue to do so. They hate their job. Let's make sure they least services people
0 stars - incompetent staff. Package never delivered and woman on phone only interested in removing the inquirey from her responsibility. Truly discouraging that this is where we are at with the Postal Service.
No stars , this is a horrible location. You hear laughter behind the door. They say ring the bell and no one comes to service you but you can hear them laughing and joking. Unreal
It was not busy and right before Christmas. A lady named marietta was super sweet and helpful brought me my package in under 10 min!
Seth was the man. He was very polite and helpful in his short time working there.
