I hate to leave a negative review but sadly feel it must be done that is the reason for the two (2) star review for the USPS postal location. Most of the USPS clerks at this location are good people and do their job very well actually above normal in my opinion. However there is a older blonde hair lady with a accent sounding very "Boratish", this lady is on the shorter side and heavy set. Due to this lady who unbelievably has misplaced packages that I processed at this location on more then one occasion. I do not think this postal clerk is stealing due to the fact of the amount of cameras in the location. This postal clerk is very rude, and actually complained to me about her feet hurting and complaining about a "China person" coworker clerk who acts like she knows everything! She also went on to complain how her union is not following brake procedures for her, and wonders why she pays her dues. I wish I was joking sadly this alone is disturbing beyond belief. I have actually spoken to other customers at this location that complained about this same clerk as well. I am sure she has other complaints and seems to not care. Whatever the reason is she severely causing issues at this location. All I can hope that this clerk gets her act together or gets replaced. Like I said having your packages lost every now and then is unacceptable and has never occurred to me anywhere else or with anyone else at this location other then the mentioned about person. I am not sure if I should post this clerks name as I am not sure if that is allowed but after this explanation I am sure her coworkers and the customers at this location are aware of who this is.
We moved within Astoria about a month and a half ago. Right before we moved we submitted a request for mail forwarding online. Guess what? We’ve received only one piece of forwarded mail so far. Senders have let us know that they’ve had their mail returned with a label that says “undeliverable”. Despite trying to update our address with everyone we could think of, we missed a couple of senders and ended up with late fees on bills. We’ve tried to remedy the situation several ways - by calling USPS’s 800 number, by calling Steinway station directly, and even dropping off a written complaint letter at Steinway station (this is what the rep told us to do over the phone). No solutions, no response. When we called, the rep named Amy immediately shouted at my husband that the issue was resolved. This is before he could give her his name, address or confirmation number for our mail forwarding request. “Resolved!! RESOLVED!!” I wonder if she knows what the word resolved means. Just terrible customer service and it would be kind of funny if it weren’t so frustrating.
I hate USPS service... most of time when i expect to receive package, post man do not even try to deliver and just leave orange slip (even I am at home he/she never buzz my door to deliver the package) and every time that happen, i have to visit this USPS location 20mins away from my place. Most of time when I get there next day to pick up my package, the clerk can not locate my package and ask me to leave my phone number so they will call me to COME AGAIN when they locate the package... such a time waisting and stupid service. Hideous and nasty service that we have to pay for... such a headache every time when I am expecting package by USPS service... I hate it to hell —- adding 12/9/21 —— Their service remain at the same level. Nothing improved. One of the worst service postoffice. Not very helpful. I would rather take more time to walk and go other location if possible.
This might be the worst post office I have ever dealt with in my life. Yes, not only are they constantly unreachable by phone by anyone, they have lost several packages (one that was valued $800), and in order to not accept responsibility, they constantly try to redirect you so you are sent in bureaucratic circles in their system for months... precious time lost. And how do you deliver to a completely different address?? We always have someone home, never get notices, are told they tried several times (we even sat outside and they just zipped by a couple times). I’m just fed up. The entire branch seems they want to just skim by with the bare minimum.
The worst customer service ever. The person behind the counter filled up the information to send my letter to Europe (twice for the same letter). Both time I got the letter returned to my address. After the second time, we wanted to speak to the manager, they took our letter and they gave it to someone inside. They told me that the manager would be with us. A lady came out from the manager's office and when she opened the door she gave me the letter in my hand and told me that this was mine. We tried to explain her that we received it twice back and the answer we got back was "I don't know, I don't know." The worst attitude ever.
It's a nice post office but an employee named Jackie is always extremely rude and unprofessional. It seems as if it gives her a certain amount of pleasure to be nasty to people. I've seen a lot of people being turned off by her or fighting with her because of her attitude. She refuses to do her job and won't even answer your questions. If she doesn't like what's being asked of her she might even stand up and leave just like that. Stay away from her if you want to get any decent service! USPS is not known for doing great job at selecting potential employees but this is their absolutely worst pick I've ever seen!!!
At this location it's hard to understand the workers and they are beyond rude. I had postage I paid for and because the date is old they said they can't accept. I go onto the website and then call USPS to confirm and they say they can. The worse part is they are beyond rude and when you ask a follow up question they dismiss you. I have usps notification also set up and my mail is never on time in the post box you have to pay them for. Every time I go to this location there is a problem. Every time you try to ask a question they ring that little bell and say "Next" like you don't exist.
Came today to pick up a package, they made me wait for 25 minutes and still coudn’t find it, I had to leave and was really late for work. The guy who was looking for my stuff was clearly annoyed that I was the first in line, the doors were opened before opening time and I didn’t know that, so I was knocking at the door until this guy came to tell me they were not ready and to give them some minutes, which is OK, but after that I saw de guy walking around with the pink paper in hand not even trying to find my stuff. I believe he did it on purpose.
I called on 7/26/18 regarding my package and a lady picked up the phone. She was really rude and unprofessional. She showed an attitude as if she didn't want to work there and then she hung up the phone on me after 1 minute while I was still trying to get some info about my package. I were very reasonable of their time on assisting me as I know they may be busy in the morning but her attitude was unacceptable. The second call a girl named Jacki picked up and she was very helpful. I got what I needed from her. Thanks Jacki!
Absolute worst service, they never deliver my packages and claim I'm not home, when I am and also claim they left a notice, which they don't. The truth is, they never try to deliver your package in the first place. either because they don't want to or because they lost it, both which have happened. This happens consistently. Then, they make it extremely difficult to contact them and claim they don't redeliver to your address so you then have to pick it up which defeats the purpose of paying for shipping in the first place.
If I could give this post office a negative amount of stars, I would. You cannot reach them by phone no matter what. They do not deliver your packages when they say they will, and they hold them at the Post Office and do not tell you that they are doing so. They do not "deliver on the next business day" when your package tracking says that they will. This is an AWFUL AWFUL post office and they should be ashamed to take tax payer dollars. Go with FedEx or UPS. ALSO, they very frequently deliver mail to the wrong address.
From having to deal daily with customers who don't know how to wrap boxes, to people with no receipts or IDs wanting to pick something up, these postal employees are working towards sainthood. They handle it all with professionalism and a (sometimes) weary smile. It's a small office that only need three customers to make a line, with post office boxes, Express and Priority shipping supplies, padded envelopes and those funny things called stamps used when you're not sending email.
They have lost several packages and gave me different excuses each time. First they claimed that I personally received my package then they told me that the wrong address was printed on the box. I called this USPS location for help and a woman on the phone told me she can’t help me then immediately hung up on me. I don’t understand why they have never been investigated. Looking through the ratings, it looks like there’s a pattern.
Awesome experience. Had a problem with address error for delivery and spoke to a supervisor named Priscilla, she went out of her way to find a single small package out of (I don't wanna know how many) and found it fast. She held it until the buyer verified there ID and picked it up. Problem quickly solved! Saved me a ton of time and some $$$$. Thank you Priscilla! 5 Star Post Office definitely.
The worst post office I’ve ever been to. The staff don’t communicate well or efficiently. Are abrupt & rude. After 25 mins trying to send a package with the customer service rep, walked out with it. I’d rather pay more & go to UPS. My local Jackson Heights branch is much bigger & busier & 100 times more efficient than here. Avoid this place.
I don’t know how a post office experience can be so pleasant EVERY TIME but here, it is. I’ve gone to this post office for three years now and every time, Esther and the other people who work here make sure that you feel cared for. The lines are short and I’m always in and out, feeling confident that my package is safe.
One star because it's there within walking distance 3 blocks away. Per week apps 2 wrong deliveries. Two checks lost thru the inside mail drop. Was told don't bother don't waste my time complaining. Other got physical with hand gestures chopping air in front of my face. Terrible service. Over many years. . What to do.
They lost or 3 packages this month alone. they marked as delivered when i never received it. They show notice left when i never received any notices and since i have ring video i know they never even attempted delivery when they say they did. You can complain but they don't care. THEY NEED TO PRIVATIZE POSTAL SERVICE.
This is the worst post office in all the universe. If you have to pick up your package make sure you have 1-2 hours. Terrible experiences only occur here. Maybe it was built on ancient burial ground. This post office is cursed. Inept, poorly managed, careless, and a great example of a bueracratic hellscape.
My first experience at USPS in NYC.. needless to say I was very clueless and didn't really know what options were available for international shipping. But the staff were very patient and helped me out. Shout-out to Esther behind the counter, who was friendly to everyone and patient with me!
I came here super late (as per usual) looking for a package that was supposedly returned to the office, over 2 weeks ago. The Supervisor attended me and several others quickly and surprisingly very freindly, considering it was already at the end of the day. Love the helpful attitude here.
Great experience here. I had an issue that required a supervisor's assistance. Gary was excellent! His experience and knowledge were very useful in resolving my issue with moving to a new office building. Great team that always seems chipper and eager to assist. Thank you!
Worst attitude ever !!! Was speaking with a female employee (she claims that she is a manager ) on April 20 around 4pm. I have never as a customer received such a rude service as I did today from USPS manager. My experience with the post office is so unfortunate.
Awful place . They lost couple times my mails , when I wanna have mailbox they trick me 3 days with aplicación and when I back at Saturday lady told me back Monday because she don’t wanna to do paper work right now. Very rude , not polite!!!! I was shocked
Very good experience. I didn't know how to send my package internationally and the staff was very polite and helpful (especially Mr. Fleming). I don't remember having such great service at any Post office. Outstanding customer service! Many Thanks!!
I've only been here a couple times, but both interactions were really great! I never thought I'd write a positive review for a branch of the post office! All the staff I encountered were very attentive and helpful. Leung, the manager was
A post office different than any other one. In and out in 5min,the line move fast. The supervisor(Chinese lady) she is so nice,as soon as i got in she offer me help and i got everything done.Thank you supervisor for the good experience.
Awaiting package pick-up from USPS all week. A different failure every single day. Eventually "Miss Smith" calls from this office and leaves her number - yet no response after 12 calls. Someone needs to be fired for their incompetency.
Pretty terrible service. I’ve waited in line for many things including service at many post offices. I think a good rule to follow would be to just help people completely in the order of which they are on line. I got here to pick up a
Since our regular mailman, Joe, changed his position, the mail is either not coming, or comes very late along with other people's mail This is just awful. You can't even get a hold of the postmaster. The carriers just don't care.
I don't ship things very often, but every time I come they have been extremely patient and helpful with explaining what I get when I purchase postage and where to put the labels on envelopes I reuse. Great guys.
Esther was EXTREMELY kind and helpful. She guided me attentively to reduce my fare and still get the service I wanted. Her kindness and professionalism shine especially during this crazy time. Thank you, Esther!
One worker on Saturday morning with a 10 person line. They sell supplies such as shipping boxes behind the counter which is very inconvenient. There was no way I was going to wait in that line twice.
I had an amazing time at this post office the clerk Jackie was very helpful and very polite I’ve been 4 times in the past month and only choose to get help from her because she is amazing thumbs up
These people are incapable of delivering boxes even when I'm home all day. They bring them out and then take them right back to the PO, and then return them. CONSISTENTLY. It's beyond frustrating.
I needed to ship something internationally and wasn't sure how to do it. The staff was very helpful, professional and friendly. Much more pleasant experience than I expected. Kudos!
Easily the worst post office I have ever been to. Perpetually understaffed, with a line out the door every time I have been here, regardless of the day of week or the time.
I dropped off my package in the USPS store, but still only shows "USPS Awaits Item" (2 weeks later). Not a single scan has been done yet. Definitely lost or stolen.
I live close by so I’m often there and Esther makes my day every time she’s there. Such a lovely person and a great knowledgeable employee. Thank you Esther!
Hit or miss with the lines. Sometimes at 9am its a 2 minute wait or a 30 minute wait. Staff is friendly and tries their best but sometimes seem overwhelmed.
No problems mailing via Priority mail. Quickly helped. Wish they had blank priority mail address stickers tho, only express available when I was there.
Post office is closed bc of water damaged. I wish info was updated in here before I made the trip. I hope it opens soon…..best PO I’ve been to.
This place needs a machine that prints stamps so you don’t have to wait in a long line with one staff member on duty during lunchtime ….
Such a huge waste of time. Keep you labels stocked so people aren’t going in circles... whoever runs this location should be demoted
Fairly nice people. No line early in the morning. Gets a little busier around evening since that’s when everyone gets out from work.
Lady who work at counter, Esther, her customer service was excellent. She is very helpful and humble. This is my second time here.
This is small but very good post office. The service are great and fast. The workers are professionals. Highly recommended.
I know they're doing their best but their best is really bad. Go to another post office if you can help it, or use FedEx.
Waiting for pickup package almost for an half hour ! And then they couldn't find it ! How it can works like that ??
I have no complaints. Employees are friendly and my mails are delivered within estimated time. Very good service
Try hard to sell labels and envelopes and tracking. Expensive sometimes to return goods undesirable from online.
Great location with very nice people working there. Always polite and helpful. Chris and Esther are the best :)
Helpful staff and working pens attached to the chains. Great experience overall on the few times I’ve visited
Delivered all mail for all apartments on the floor and in a rubber band. Lost packages and mail regularly.
Chris was very helpful and knowledgeable! In a very busy store he was attentive and had patience. Thanks
Esther is the most wonderful team staff. This is the first time I had great experience with usps.
They don't always have stamps in large quantities (like rolls of 100)! What does that tell you?
The rudest lady I have ever encountered. No manners at all. Next time I’ll go to fed ex
Got in and out of there quickly got everything done I wanted to and friendly service
Customer service was the worst. Has no patience and kindness. Rude and unacceptable
Very bad customers services. Not helpful at all! UPS is si much better than USPS!
Worst post office ever. Super slow and they don't know what they are doing at all
If I could give a 0, I would. The people that work there are not helpful at all.
the worst. they will lose your packages and do nothing about it. real efficient.
Slow and kind of rude enough for me to write this review to make myself better.
Horrible lines and slow service. Waited forever to mail a package!
1 person at counter. Line of 20 people. 45min wait time.
All kinds of postal service are available and reliable.
Never even attempted delivery and lost my package
The employees here are very kind and helpful.
delivering packages to the wrong adress!!!!
Quick and friendly service! Thank you!!!!
Bad service I never seen at any usps
