This place is highly unprofessional and the staff here are very rude. I've been using several USPS locations in several locations and I've never experienced such things. I have patroned this location a few times and everytime is something different. The first time I used the location the man working there rudly told me that they didnt have any bubble mailers and its up to me if I wanna take the risk of mailing my stuff with the limited materials that they had. Today, I attempted to mail my 22 inch paddles as I have done across several states on the eastern side of the U.S. and was told that they didnt have the boxes to fit my package. I have had this problem before and told her I usually put two boxes together and use it that way. The lady, Gwen, then tell me I cannot do that and then the story changes to thats a flat rate so id have to pay $30 per paddle to ship. This was upsetting as I told her Ive done this in VA, NC, and even other parts of NY. She then shrugs and says well... we have longer boxes but those arent in stock. I ask her how much those boxes are she says well it really doesnt matter, theyre not in stock. This was very rude and no way to speak to a customer. I am appalled and will do my best to never use this location again. I wonder how much UPS charges for delieveries. Even if its more expensive, its worth not having to deal with the rude conduct of this USPS location.
Just visited this location for the first time today and I will NOT return. The desk agents are rude and awful. Instead of kindly pointing out their sign regarding no animals allowed, the postal worker talks at me from behind their glass wall and says in a very rude manner "Ma'am, you either need to pick your dog or take your dog out of here. No dogs allowed." I feel she could have been much kinder in her tone. I would have happily placed my dog outside but to spite her I picked up my dog and held him the whole time. Her co-worker refused to serve me because I was holding my dog and moving forward my experience was not nice at all. At the end, the desk agent decides to talk back to me about my attitude towards her all the while I've been holding my dog in my hands as she directed me to do. She thinks she didn't have an attitude with me at all. Talking back at a customer is not having an attitude?? Yes, these people are in a customer service business. I do not think it is the best practice to talk back to a customer no matter what. I think these two agents need some customer service training and maybe also some sensitivity training. Oh and also, the place is a COMPLETE MESS!!! There is trash everywhere.
I paid and printed for my international label at home, (did it before many times). Brought it to this place to drop it, but they refused to accept it. Reason: it doesn't say on the label it was paid!! Priority mail !!$51.00!! You can't print the label, if it isn't paid for and I had USPS SCAN printed!! had receipt !! I asked,to scan the barcode and you will see!! They refused to do that, saying, they don't have to !! I asked for manager. Answer: in the the main post office on Church ave!!! All 3 people in that place weren't helpful, they didn't care!! I had to go to work, didn't have time to argue and just took my package to Manhattan. Went to the post office on the way, gave the package to the post office clerk, he scanned it and accepted with no problems!!
I don’t know why this place has such bad reviews as it’s probably the nicest (employee wise) post office I’ve ever been to. Yes it’s small and kinda dingy and dirty, sometimes there’s a long line going out the door if you come around lunchtime espeecially but the people working there are very friendly, particularly the guy with glasses and there’s always parking to be found right in front. I ship out anywhere from 10-50 packages daily and have never had one lost or delayed because of this post office; if it does get lost or delayed then it’s always long after it already left this location. This whole review section reeks of entitlement tbh
This post office has to be the worst place in the USPS system ......nobody seems to care or understand that they are in the customer service business.....they never have counter people in the mornings when they open ......lines just get longer with one person seemingly doing everything ......the route carriers don't place mail in the proper slots and don't ring your bell when delivering pkgs .......I found a important delivery not by my door but by a window of the lobby of my bldg .......a sad way to do business .....SHAME ON YOU USPS.....time for a reality check
I am extremely grateful to have this tiny post office available, better than going the Church Avenue. Comments about the condition, the only somewhat decent looking ones I’ve been to in Manhattan most are rundown looking. A few years ago they handle shipping of cremains (relative’s ashes). Not only were they handled with speed and care, upon arrival at destination on a Sunday they called the person’s parent to arrange pick up. I’ve been shipping from this location for years with any issues. The small staff my be overworked and on my experience never rude.
This little post office is almost always busy (so expect to stand in line) but it's close by and they do everything you generally want the postal service to do (but go to the P.O. on Coney Island Ave. near Ave. I for passports). A small and cramped space. There's often different personnel at the windows sometimes even day-to-day so you deal with a variety of personality types but they will process what you need to send. It's closed all day Saturdays. At 5 p.m. the door is locked so if you're inside you need to wait for someone to let you out!
Possibly the worst USPS station in Brooklyn. There is currently a line of 7 people with only 2 workers and one of them is taking her sweet time inputting information as the line forms longer and longer. I can't tell the branch manager how many employees should be on staff during the 1st few business hours but having a line form at 10 AM is a little much. There's always a line when I come here and all the employees just move slower than molasses on a hot summer in the deep deep south.
I always set up mail delivery notice, and be home waiting for my package, but the postman never ring the bells or leave any notes, then the status showing pick up available. It was the 4th time I have to go wait in line and pick up my heavy package in the post office and I'm 9 months pregnant. I don't know why we pay for the expensive shipping if we have to pick up package ourselves..... USPS has the worst service...
THE PHOTOS tell the tale: this an outpost of an organization starved for resources because of politicians and rivals free to shut outlets and drop services if they’re unprofitable. But Congress won’t allow the Postal Service to do that. The Ditmas Park USPS place is shabby and alienating, partly because the government workers are kept behind bullet-proof shields not needed since the 1990s.
I had lost a tracking number on a priority mail box that I shipped to an Ebay customer. Gwen helped me locate the transaction (luckily I paid with debit card!) and to my great relief, retrieved the tracking number. Based on my previous experiences in Brooklyn post offices, I don't know if every postal service worker would have the patience to go out of their way to do that. Great service!
Every post office is trash. This location does NOT hold packages… BUT the usps website lets you pay to hold packages here. SO the package stays at the main Church Ave post office. NO one contacts you to let you know. And then when you go to pick up the package, they force you to pay the fee to hold the package even though they didn’t even supply the service.
Rude and unprofessional… they also don’t print labels which doesn’t make sense for an actual POST OFFICE. They decided to charge me for without me knowing then once the package shipped have the package automatically be returned to sender. I’m extremely frustrated at how my packages were handled by the staff and will be making a complaint.
asked the woman if i had to put my box to be shipped in a window near the entrance, and gave me an attitude saying “why would you need to put it over there?” told her she didn’t have to have an attitude and told me i was the one with an attitude. projection at its finest. horrible customer service
Could the space be spruced up? Sure. Does that affect where my mail goes and if it's sent in a timely manner? Nope. I'm grateful to have this PO so near our apartment. The postal workers are kind, hard working, and always helpful. Thank you for everything you do, USPS!
the worst post office in the city if not on the country, probably... always rude and unprofessional... credit/debit card machine never works, they accept cash only for like this is third world country... this situation has been going for years and nobody cares. SHAME!
If I could i would left 0 stars because this is what this branch really is! People who works there all rude and super unprofessional and think they are allowed to raise their voices on you when you politely ask a question! Worst location I've ever been!
Some people hate on this PO. But for real, just like every other place, if you wait your turn calmly, and are nice to the kind folks working their, you’ll get what you need done with some Friendly service. Want to be treated nicely? Treat others nicely.
Close this place down. Worst post office ever. I've been here at least 10 times, yet somehow I've never been able to get a package sent via this office--each time there was a different ridiculous reason. I must say I'm impressed, and not in a good way!
There was a young white guy with light hair blue eyes, tallish (maybe) behind the counter complaining loudly how he hated this job and his coworkers laughed and sipped thier Subway sodas in agreement. This place reeks of incompetence and misery.
This place is closed on Saturdays. I have never heard of a post office being closed on Saturday. Sadness. Side note: it also looks like a sketchy bodega inside. I would say your package has maybe a 50/50 chance of making it to its destination.
I've always had fine experiences here. I can't believe some of the reviews on this site - it's not a boutique delivery service, it's the USPS. This branch is much pleasanter than many city post offices I've been in. People need to calm down.
Should be shut down! It's the size of a closet, had a prepaid box which not one USPS driver would take, because it's beneath them, it's all the power they have in this misreble job of theirs. So waited 30 min to drop of a dumb prepaid box.
I was shocked by the filthy conditions I encountered at the Newkitk post office. I've posted a photo of the ceiling fan coated in grime, and the debris covering the table. How can anyone work there without making some effort to clean up?
The Post Master General would be of much assistant by personally visiting and working at each post office for at least one week. This will help the all around growth and services at the post offices inside the state of New York.
I like this postal office. Very fast service, all my mails reach distinctions. I’m using this branch almost 3 years. The employees also very friendly. They don’t talk to much just they do they job. Very professional. Thank you.
I can't BELIEVE the rundown physical condition of this post office, the US Govt should be ashamed!! Paint it, wash the floors, update it, do something! The day I visited, the guy who helped me was pleasant and helpful.
Worse Post Office On Earth...Too Small, Too Understaffed, Too many people all the time, one of the clerks have a terrible attitude, you'll know her when you come, but I would advise not coming at all.
I’ve never had an issue at this post office, they are always helpful and pleasant to deal with. I truly don’t know why the rating is so low- definitely go here for your various shipping needs!
The worse . We are now at a point where the post office is charging to take a label to a box ? I have been at other locations where this is not true . Every time I come here I dread it
Yes, the place looks old but I never have to wait in line for a long time and the staff is friendly to me. My packages are processed quickly and my customers are happy.
Illiterate employees, they all look miserable and make people’s days miserable. Get a better job or start treating people LIKE PEOPLE. Rude as hell, learn some manners
Sent package on Friday morning, tracking record showed it took up to next Tuesday to leave the premise. As an online seller this is unacceptable. Won't use it again!
I don't really see what the point of this post office is. They don't hold packages. I guess you can ship from there? Do people still ship things? I don't know.
Horrible service in a very unorganized and dirty location. Agents are not skilled or knowledgable in assisting customers. Go someplace else if possible!!!
Some of the laziest, unprofessional workers. They give the postal services a terrible reputation. I suggest extensive customer service training.
Be prepared to lose all faith in humanity and possibly yourself after stepping into this orange dumpster (true to scale) of a post office.
The worker that helped me at this location was polite and helped very quickly. Other locations don't always have the same service.
Very nice people working there, if you have any questions there is no one really to talk to they’re all very busy
Hands down the BEST post office experience every time I go. The female staffers are always nice and patient too.
Customer service has improved a lot but the wait times can be long at times. Typical government service.
Why is the number being provided here appear to be a fax number but it's stating it's a contact number?
I’ve only ever had good experiences at this post office! The employees are always nice & attentive.
Terrible, just terrible. Both people and location. Avoid Walk 5 miles to go to another post office.
Best post office in the neighborhood for sure. So much better than Nostrand & Coney Island Ave.
Your typical brooklyn USPS, rude employees, dirty location, but at least the packages are sent.
Thank you to the office workers do their job. No frills. Space is grimy. They need more funds.
Lazy employee, rude and unprofessional. Have been waiting 40 minutes just to drop off package.
I like this post office and I find the employees to be both friendly and efficient.
Workers are rude and barely helpful. Better off going to a dif location
Great local USPS. Mellow, convenient location and friendly staff.
We all know that the post office is garbage. Need I say more?
Not clean, bearly have supplies, horrible customer service.
They will lose your mail. It has happened to me twice now.
They should have more workers to make the line shorters
They lost my mail.I had my original documents in that.
Worst shipping service ever. Every location sucks.
How does a post office not print mailing labels…
Braindead workers who should be unemployed
The Employee was very helpful and polite.
One clerk. Holiday mailing. Long wait
It ok they are over crowed
Service was easy and fast
dirty and rude employees
Convenient and friendly
Gets the job done
Could do better
Laziest worker.
Nicest staff.
