To anyone who wants to consider studying teaching at UniSA, I would strongly recommend avoiding uniSA at all costs. I have completed my master's degree at UniSA and have had the worst experience. The courses are very poorly organised, often with incorrect dates or details. Course coordinators and the teaching staff often lack communication, which results in them having different expectations for assignments etc. Many of the teaching staff are bullies. In my first year one of the workshop coordinators made a student cry, and when we reported their behaviour we were told "no, she's actually a really good teacher". Many of my peers told me they dealt with racial microagressions regularly, and occasionally blatant racism. Their invoices are lacking detail, they don't give receipts for payments, and they have overcharged my HECS debt at least twice. They do not follow their own complaints policy, and refuse to investigate students claims. They also refused to consider the reasonable adjustments I required for my disability, but I have since learned they allowed the same accommodation so that someone could work at a sporting tournament. There are a thousand issues I could discuss, but I will just conclude by recommending prospective students look at interstate Universities instead.
UniSA Magill campus is a very special amoung all the campuses in Australia. It has most technologically advanced teacher training facility in whole Australia. Students who are following communication media, digital media, psychology, education, social work, cognative neuroscience and other art degrees lucky enough to access Magill campus facilities everyday. Campus is about 15 hectares beautiful park land and it is home for 5 Koalas. Furthermore this campus has a swimming pool, gym, theater, TV, radio and sound video, language lab and etc.
It is situated in a beautiful environment surrounded by natural, native vegetation. Its park like surroundings, with a stream running through the campus, makes this an ideal place to relax in between lectures. It has a great cafeteria area which has facilities where one can warm or toast ones personal meals and also has television facilities, and is always clean and well maintained. Last but not least, a great university with fantastic lecturers and support staff.
If you have any courses fall in the period of mid-December, January February ish period, the cafe and other facilitates are all closed. If you would like to buy a coffee or something to eat, you have to walk to some of the stores outside the campus. It may not be a very big deal, but it would be really inconvenient.
A decent place for uni students who would like to have a calm and peaceful environment for studies. The place has good architectural structure as well as good park in the campus. Facilities are quite good too. :)
Really beautiful campus. If you are new you need to get familiar with the lay out. For example building A, B and C are all the one building. Also COVID-19 safe so people are still wearing face masks.
Jenni Carter is the worst lecturer/tutor I’ve ever met. A condescending, judgemental and double-standard racist with very little useful knowledge to teach.
Passionate lecturers, beautiful grounds, great facilities for an active student life. I loved my time here. You get out what you put in.
UniSA provides the best learning environment for international students. I had a great time studying at UniSA.
Good environment to study, plenty of green area and space where people can just set back and enjoy or study :)
Attention to detail was very good. I like good details where it counts so I have given it 5 stars for now.
