"This store used to be good, i used to go here for srafood and goat but nowadays they sell the days old seafood and meat, if you buy goat, pay attention to the meat in the middle or at the bottom, itll be slightly black and sticky, thats cuz they mix the fresh meat with old meat"
"I bought a bag of rice and when I brought it home and cut open the package"
"I have been here only once after being referred by my friend"
"They sell rotten/ close-to-expiry seafood! I have been buying kingfish from several stores in the past, and this stinks like no other! They sell past expiry"
"We bought this snack here on 24th march, 2021"
This store used to be good, i used to go here for srafood and goat but nowadays they sell the days old seafood and meat, if you buy goat, pay attention to the meat in the middle or at the bottom, itll be slightly black and sticky, thats cuz they mix the fresh meat with old meat....and their prices are ridiculously high compare to other tamil stores, this is close to home but now i go elsewhere for my srilankan merchandise..also theres this old man stocks merchandise, hes always moody like he comes to work after fighting with his wife lol and hes never willing to help find stuff when hes stocking merchandise, and i noticed few times at store closing, hes very rude to the older grandpas that work in the meat section. Bad>>> Bad customer service 50% of the time Veryyy high prices, they know most ppl wuldnt drive to scarborough so ripping us off For ex theres a shampoo called Meera shampoo...its like 100 or 200 sri lankan rupees but these frauds sell it for 7 bucks plus... STOP RIPPING OFF YOUR OWN COMMUNITY UTHAYAMM OWNERSSS AND SELLL FRESHH SEAFOOD AND MEAT.!!!!
I bought a bag of rice and when I brought it home and cut open the package.. it had a nasty toxic odour! It had a terrible smell.. I stapled the bag and took it back. The man serving seemed angry. I noticed him throwing away the receipt for the person who was in front of me. It seemed like it was a regular practice. When my turn came, and I put the bag of rice on the counter, and explained to him what had happened, he asked for a receipt, and I said the person who served me threw away the receipt and did not give it to me. I felt no reason to ask him for it at that time. This person was rude and he said it has nothing to do with him, and I will have to call a number on the bag which was was a UK number, and that it was my responsibility. No exchange and no refund. I left the bag of rice on the counter and left. I don’t want to throw a bag of rice! I will not be going back.
I have been here only once after being referred by my friend. The main reason for my visit was to buy fish. They have lots of Indian & asian fish varieties like sankara, maththi, Pomfret, Kingfish and etc.. Sorry, I am sure I am missing some good varieties of fish. On top of it, they have prawn, crab, and squid. They have meats as well. Fish and meat looked so fresh. Also, they cleaned it very well, unlike oceans' fresh food market. They are respectful, too. They have lots of groceries. I bought Anil semiya, dry fish, some specific greens like vallarai keerai, modakaththan keerai and so on. I felt some items were pricy, but still, I liked it. So rating 5. I will visit frequently here on. It's a compact supermarket with lots of items stuffed in.
They sell rotten/ close-to-expiry seafood! I have been buying kingfish from several stores in the past, and this stinks like no other! They sell past expiry. We wanted to also buy prawns, but took one look at how green-yellow coloured they were and decided not to. Also the guy at the seafood counter was very cunning: we asked for only 2lbs of fish, he cut up 3lbs, then when we said that's too much he arrogantly argued that otherwise their fish will go to waste so we must buy it all... Unbelievable that they have the audacity to try to sell off all their rotten fish at overpriced amounts and trying to get rid of it on the customers!!! DO NOT go here unless you want to get scammed.
We bought this snack here on 24th march, 2021. The smell and taste were so bad, then upon checking the expiry date, it was Nov 2020. That means, this product had been expired 4 months ago. We went there in the intention to correct such issues in future. But they were not ready to accept the fact and claiming that this was not sold here and started blaming us like we bought this from another store. Be careful with such shops. Always check the expiry date and don't believe anyone. we were regular customer to this shop for almost 2 years and we ended up in such a pathetic situation.
This Metro carries practically all the things a grocery store has. From ordering or purchasing freshly baked breads/buns and occasion cakes to fresh fruits and vegetables. Also, they have a Starbucks on site! How cool is that! Additionally, I found some special cereal mix which are great when combined with yogurt. The floral arrangements they sell look fresh and beautiful. The lines also move quickly, and the checkout staff seem pleasant. Try shopping there sometime.
Its a good small shop on rathburn road. Once can get most of the items from india, srilanka, etc. Also, pooja items like jasmine , mango leaves and banana leaf are available during festivals. most of the indian vegetables are available. Prices are decent like other indian grocery stores in mississauga. The only think you got to worry is the ailse are very small, dont take a cart, take a basket.
One of my south Asian friend asked me to buy few things from this store. I went there to buy. Such a filthy store. Still I bought few dry fishes and some biscuits and cookies for the friend. The cashier put dry fishes and biscuits and cookies altogether in one plastic bag. Such a uncivilized service. The cashier need Canadian standards training.
One of the worst shops I have been to, they never support/help you. And sold an old stock, no matter how many times we washed it the rice was stinking so bad. When we went back to the store they said they will not take returns and said no one picks that rice brand, but they were the one who recommended that rice brand when we came other day.
Good store to buy Indian vegetables and other Sri Lankan and South Indian grocery items. The meat and fish are not too good. They sometimes have old stock and smell is not good sometimes too. But we can get banana leaf and jasmine flowers . Many south Indian rice varieties also but have to be careful before buying some of them are old stock.
I prefer this supermarket for vegetables like Moringa leaves, Drumstick, Plantain stem, etc. I used to buy Aachi and Sakthi Masala, Sesame oil, snacks etc. Few of things are slightly overpriced. But I'm okay to find regional grocers at one place. When i asked for 1kg mutton, they said minimum 10Lbs. So I don't prefer for fish and meat.
I got super excited seeing all the South Indian items and bought stuffs for 200 dollars. Fresh veggies were fine but dry items are all spoiled. Rice, urad dal and some other spices smelled so bad to the extent that I had to throw them to keep my house not smelling garbage. I will not recommend buying dry items from here
Good Tamil and South Indian grocery. They do have fishes and meat. Rare authentic items available. Will visit again. Lot of native greens (keeraigal) available .. Wood pressed sesame and groundnut oil available .. the cashier is very helpful .. Recommend this store to get authentic Indian vegetables and it products
High prices and check the items before buying. I try to avoid buying big packaged items here because we saw bugs in a bag of rice we bought here. In a separate occasion we saw bugs in the flour we bought here. However, I could usually find items I am looking for. I buy items that I need urgently.
One of the super market in Mississauga area where you get South Indian groceries. They do have fresh fishes as well. They have plenty collections of South India spices and vegetables. This place is little congested. However they have all kind of Indian/Tamil/SriLankan/South Indian masalas.
So small, congested and hard to find what you looking for. Meat store within the store and you can smell the fish and meats inside the store. Not everything they sell in terms of Indian groceries and only cashier in store to help so if they are busy then you have wait to get any help
Very ethnic store catering to niche markets. In that sense they do a great job. Superb customer service and wide range of supplies ranging from fresh meat and fish to dry goods, kitchen appliances and fresh produce. Great shopping venue and convenient location with ample car parking.
You get almost everything there, but all you need is some patience to find it out. Store is bit clumsy as it has a small layout and lot of stock. But you get fresh veggies and most of the Indian food essentials. I personally prefer buying fish and meat over there as it is fresh.
One stop shop for all South Indian groceries , good variety of brands to choose from , quick billing and friendly service ..path ways between the aisles are shallow to walk and some times this place smell bad due to the butcher shop maintained along with the grocery shop
Bad rude service. For quality of stock, fish is very low quality, badly maintained and old stock. I tried twice and same bad rotten smell.. please do not buy seafood from this place if u r health conscious person. Overall shopping experience, bad ambience .. Highly
Good place for Sri Lankan and Indian groceries. Collection is huge (5*), Prices are relatively high (3*), Horrible smell (2*), Clean (4*), Friendly staff (3*) resulting in an overall score of 3*. Improve air circulation in the store and lose the stench to get 4*.
There are lots of vegetables and other Indian grocery items; fresh greens including banana leaf is also available always. Fish is also available but haven't tried here. But compared to other similar stores, the cost of most products found to be little higher.
Udayam is a very good Srilankan/Indian supermarket with almost everything that you need for this style of cooking. They have fresh fish and meat, and they would clean and cut them for you for free. However, I feel the prices are a little expensive.
Small place, but you can find all kinds of Indian masalas... We were able to find our fav Sakthi masala, aachi masala, all kinds of rice mix (helpful for bachelors), malligai poo (jasmine flower), indian coconut, tomatoes, etc...
Sir .am parameswaran. Completed B.COM.CA l need kids in Canada Pls help sir . Ur shop work available sir. Now working cashier in tamilnadu I am already working in chicken and fish centre sir Pls consider @ uthayam super market
Good selection of Sri Lankan grocery items. My go to place as I live in the KW region and can't think about travelling all the way to Scarborough/Markham. Only complain is about the seafood items quality could be much better.
I would like to review specifically the fish section of this grocery store. They sell stale fish and cheat people by charging excess amount. We bought three different varieties of fish and all were rotten and smelly.
Very clean, well stocked and well maintained. The person at the counter is genuinely appreciative of the customers..which speaks a lot on how they value their customers. The Fish section is also kept very clean
Price looks like costly here. But most of the south indian groceies we can get it here. Not suitable to buy a vegetables here its too costly. I bought Idhyam Gingelwy Oils, Aachi Masala, other India masalas
Go-to-place for Sri Lankan groceries in Toronto where you can find anything you want from your home choices. Be careful when you buy seafood, sometimes they are not rotten due to the logistics delays.
This store has Srilankan and south Indian grocery items. You can find some specific food items which you liked at back home. It has a meat section as well, where you can find good and fresh fishes.
Price is very very High, Compare with other south Indian , Srilenkan Store s, Example Bread loaf $ 3.00 Next Door Brindavan $:2.50, Most of the products too high, Please Review your price , thanks.
Good place for south Indian groceries and other items. The place us well stocked and the owner is friendly and helpful. Needs some organizing but a good place to shop for south indian foods.
Small store has everything. Its a very special day for Lord Shiva on Thursday the 11th of May. He is worship with a special Bel/ Bilva leaf. Available in the store.....glad I got some
We can get all the necessary Indian groceries and vegetables and flowers at affordable price. Including my favorite Sundakkai, Vazhapoo(banana flower) and Vazhai thandu(banana stem).
A usual Sri Lankan grocery store. Everything is pricy compared to other locations. If we share any feedback about the quality or the product issues the owner is getting annoyed
Good place for south Indian groceries. Doesn't have a wide selection of fresh produce but has the necessary South Indian branded spices etc. A bit pricier than other stores.
Good Tamil grocery. They do have fishes and meat. Rare authentic items available. Will visit again. Lot of native greens (keeraigal) available. Look at the pic for the list.
It's Tamil and srirangan store.. however some items are costly...I had bad experience with the bread I bought it here..other than that, u can get lots of Tamil Nadu things.
Awesome place to buy all you want from South India. I was so surprised to find fresh jack fruit here. Price is very affordable. Felt like being in a supermarket in India .
The go to place in Mississauga to buy Sri Lankan groceries. Ranging from spices, dried fish to sweet meats from Sri Lankan brands!!! Prices are little bit high though.
One of the best places in Central Mississauga to get quality Sri Lankan groceries. There are a couple of friendly people in there, but others are not too bad either.
They have a good selection of Sri Lankan & south Asian spices, ready to eats & ingredients. Also they have have good selection of fresh fish & meat items.

For all who need Sri Lankan groceries in Mississauga, this is the place to visit.. But compared to other SL places in GTA, quite expensive!
The best place to find different options for rice from the sub continent. Lot of other Indian, srilankan groceries are available here.
Centrally located at Rathburn Road and has many items of South Indian origin. Items that can get include spices, flour, biscuits etc.
Good variety of South Indian groceries but prices are on the higher side for few items. Have good parking space and bus stop near by

You don't feel welcome at all. They think that they are doing a favor to us by selling the groceries. Very rude
Good for Indian products and especially South Indian and Srilankan. Fresh fish and chicken, goat too available
We are getting woodpressed unrefined oils which is natural and we love those oils. That has no side effects.
