By far the only place I will take my jewelry when I need work done. My wife's wedding ring diamond I bought from Applets over 15 years ago came loose. I took the ring to applets and was quoted 600 dollars in repairing the claw and plating work. I asked just for the claw to be repaired and they would not do the work without the plating. I asked for the ring back and the manager called me back and said they could put the repair on a payment plan and I informed them it was not the price but that I wanted the ring left in its original shape without plating. They would not do the work. So I picked up the ring and went to Vandenberg's and asked them to do the repair. I didn't even ask about plating. The staff there said no problem, it should take a few days and would keep me posted. I was called 4 days later saying the ring was ready for pick up. When I went to pick it up, the staff were friendly and very outgoing. To my surprise they repaired the ring and also polished it for under 80 dollars. I was told the plating was fine and no additional work was needed. I was blown away by the price difference. I highly recommend checking Vandenbergs out. 5 out 5.

We had an amazing experience getting our engagement ring at Vandenberg’s! They made the process so easy for my fiancé. We worked with Diane who was so kind and very knowledgeable. When we were looking at places to have the engagement ring made, we quickly realized how pushy some places were. At Vandenberg’s, there was not one ounce of that! Diane made us feel taken care of and brought our vision to life. The other stores also told us the colour of diamond we were looking for was impossible and not available at any suppliers. Diane brought in 6 amazing diamonds that were all stunning for us to choose from that fit our vision entirely. We really appreciate Diane and her knowledge and expertise. Vandenbergs was a dream to work with. My fiancee went to the store and after chatting with Peter they decided on a custom designed engagement ring. Being from out of province Peter made it easy for my fiancee by emailing him updates and sending him the wax replica prior to having the ring created to make sure it was what he wanted without having to travel back into the city. The ring is beautifully crafted and Peter guided my fiancée along with the process. Same experience with our wedding bands. Peter was great with assisting and inputting details for designing my band. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Everything was very reasonably priced, exceptionally fast and now I get one of a kind rings that you won't find in any chain jewellery store! Couldn't recommend Vandenbergs enough for any jewellery purchase!

I am about two years late here but I received services here for my wife's engagement ring. I went into Vandenbergs with the hopes of getting an engagement ring for my wife. I was helped by Diane who was an absolute sweetheart of a lady. She was extremely helpful and patient and was very much invested in ensuring that I got exactly what I wanted for the price that I named. After several back and forth, we were finally able to get a custom-made diamond ring which still draws people's eyes to it to this day. Diane made sure I got the best service and best ring possible and for that I am still thankful. I have recommended this place to all of my friends who had been in the market for jewellery and I know of at least one who went and got their engagement ring here as well. They have a huge array of beautiful jewellery in-store and were able to custom-make the engagement ring and wedding band of my dreams. When I lost the diamond out of my wedding set I was devastated. After doing some research I decided to take it to Vandenbergs as its a business in my community. They are not only affordable but have exceptional customer service. From the moment I walked through the door I felt welcomed. My engagement ring was a size and a half too small for my finger, so I wanted to get it resized. Took it to a few places in the city only to be told that they couldn't work on it because it wasn't a diamond, or it wasn't something that they sold and therefore could not replace if it got damaged. I looked at some reviews and decided to try Vandenbergs. I just got my ring back today and to say that I am happy would be an understatement! Not only does it fit perfectly, but they also matched the wood engraving on the metal piece they added in! Also, the quote was much lower than I was originally quoted, so that was a pleasant surprise. I highly reccomend going to Vandenbergs!

My girlfriend and I got a custom engagement ring made here, and it turned out absolutely amazing! Peter and Esther went above and beyond to help us with finalizing a look that suited all of our needs. It was a very intricate design that their goldsmith did an excellent job on. Peter sat us down to layout the financials of numerous diamond and band possibilities so that we always knew what each part of the ring would cost us. Very friendly and also remembered us by name whenever we came in to talk about the minor details of the design. We will definitely be coming back to them for the wedding bands and any other jewelry!

Absolutely thrilled with my experience. I called one morning because i had a ring stuck on my finger. They were so kind and helped me cut it off at no cost. And i figured. Well heck, I'm losing one ring, but I've got others I've been meaning to get looked at. So i took a chance on some very sentimental pieces, not knowing anything about the company. Super late review but here it is. Back in January, I had a last minute decision to propose to my now fiancé 2 days before our trip to Mexico. I went to Vanderbergs not knowing anything about engagement rings. Thankfully, Elliana was there to help me out to pick out what I thought the best ring my fiancé would love. She showed me several options until I’ve found the perfect one. I’m glad I got the help I needed because my fiancé absolutely loves it! It was a bit big initially, but we got it resized when we got back and now it fits perfectly. We’re most likely going back for our wedding bands as well. Great service!

Esther and Peter are lovely! I'm pretty young and tend to find most jewellers don't pay attention to me and dismiss me but they are super welcoming and helpful! Love going there as they have a nice comforting environment that isn't intimidating. They have done a great job helping me repair my jewellery and I'm currently in the process of designing a ring with Peter. Love it so much so far! If you're looking for something in particular but don't necessarily want it custom, Esther does a great job at finding it :) I now go there for all my jewellery needs and will keep returning for as long as I'm here in Winnipeg!

Was quoted $15 for a repair, now it's $85! I concede that $15 was too low a price for my repair. But I feel that despite my questions, I didn't get a straight answer. I don't mind paying a fair price, but the discrepancy between quoted price and invoice price was never explained. Update: this store honoured their pledge to repair the chain at no charge. They explained their error in full, and apologized. I would say that the true test of customer service is how they handle complaints. Vandenbergs should be proud. They have earned my respect and trust.

We had a wonderful experience at Vandenbergs. We went to other jewellery establishments in the city for our wedding rings, but finally found the best here. Our rep, Diane was very knowledgeable, professional and friendly . We need to do some modifications to the ring, they sent us photoshopped images to make sure we like it before finalizing. Big fan of Vandenbergs. Shopped Saturday morning, December 08, 2018. Extremely friendly and helpful owners and staff. No line-ups. They served me a cup of coffee and I then purchased Christmas gifts for 5 people on my list. Beautiful items at all price points. Particularly like Olive + Piper tassel earrings and vintage brooches which are all over social media. Advent train promo is cute and fun (first customer of the day gets to open a drawer on the Advent train for a cute and sparkly gift). Will be back!

I looked on the winnipeg reddit for recommendations of good local place to get an engagement ring and many people suggested Vandenbergs. They were right as over the course of a few months and looking around a lot I found Vandenbergs to be most down to earth and reasonable of the places I had been looking; didn't pressure me at all and helped me get something perfect. Thanks to Diane especially whose recommendation in the end actually helped me pull off the proposal properly lol.

Vandenbergs has wonderful service. We were able to chat via text message with Esther and get a price/quote for the ring we wanted. They let us know when it was coming in and wrapped it up beautifully. I have to go back to get a silicone insert because it's sliding on my finger (my fault) or get it sized and they've been wonderful about that too! Other places were extremely pushy and just wanted a sale. Highly recommend them and will go back for any future purchases. :)

Wonderful experience with Marlene and Peter. Marlene found the perfect match for my vintage pendant watch in for repairs and via telephone she led me through the watch repair process after my visit . Peter explained his appraisals of my two rings and discussed some of the decisions to be made with possible custom designs. Worth my trip across the city. Absolutely one of the best jewellery stores I've been into in Winnipeg if not the best ! Their customer service is amazing their products are outstanding. Check your rings ladies, they can become too small before you know it. The lovely people at Vandenberg's thankfully managed to cut my rings off(at no charge) which had become too tight. I will definitely be going back to get my rings resized when my finger has lost it's squished look! My rings are all put back together and they look like new! Dropped my wedding ring off to be resized a couple weeks ago. It was completed ahead of the estimated date, under the estimated cost and I don't think it shinned this bright when we said "I Do" 26 years ago! ( I felt a little guilty when Marlene handed it to me and I said " that's not my ring - it is too shiny" The look on their faces - I guess that's not a funny thing to joke about in a jewelry store)

You ask them to do one thing during your first visit ...”oh yes, we will update the current information” Went in today and nothing was removed from previous visit. As a younger adult I felt very intimidated going into such a fancy establishment but the staff quickly made me feel welcomed and comfortable. Bought my ring from there . And they wanted to charge me to resize… also when we got it the diamond fell out luckily found it. But they still wanted to also charge us for that to put it in… when I had it for a couple days….
