Everything about this place is not for dogs! It's terrible that they can afford this, that they operate and use us in such a way that in return they do not provide the service that one would expect. There is no adequate medical staff, they put interns on the shift, they don't give an appointment and now my complaint is coming! My dog was registered at Coolock Village for 5 years. Unfortunately, he is a monthly visitor to the clinic due to joint disease and allergies. Which costs a lot because he has to get an injection. 3 days ago he had a serious allergic reaction, his skin was ilac on the stomach and gasped for air, he had red diarrhea while he was also vomiting. I immediately called the clinic because this is considered an URGENT CASE! The receptionist who was on shift at the time, calling herself a manager, could not help because only one VET was on a shift and busy with other patients. They have 5 different clinics and there was no help anywhere! Shame and disgrace!I couldn't do anything else in my situation, we immediately took my dog there to be seen and helped. There was another customer when we arrived in the waiting area , I waited patiently for my turn, and I apologise that i took a steps forward to came in. But the Reception manager said she would ask if they could receive him and then she came back and the answer was NO! Of course, I couldn't tolerate this either! The law says that urgent cases must be attended to without delay! It was a mistake on their part! In the meantime, another client arrived who was brought in for an injection and had an appointment! I told her a bit loudy that to delete me from the system with immediate effect! They don't deserve a cent after that! I looked for another clinic nearby where they immediately accepted me over the phone and when I arrived, they admitted me out of line and treated my dog allergy attack with an immediate injection! I am very sorry that we dog owners find ourselves in such a situation and it does not matter what situation we find ourselves in and how long we have been paying, there is no respect!!! I'm just one of many, but don't give up, dare to change! Never again Coolock Village Vet! This is my sincere situation and thank you for reading it ! So disappointed what they doing and how they treat their client !
Never had the chance to share the experience until now, I think there was another review on my behalf, but I brought my cat in after he returned home with his leg badly injured. We were given very little options in terms of treatments, either €1000 for the surgery to save his leg and him, €500 for amputation to save him, or I surrender him but know that he has been saved, but I would have no chance of getting him back. They informed me that they had no form of a payment plan, and what 18 year old just has a grand lying around? I was lucky enough to know people who could help me bring him to Slane Veterinary Clinic who did a wonderful job with helping my cat and keeping me calm during such a stressful time. It was just so heartbreaking, I had cried for hours, trying to accept that I might have had to surrender him, I'm so happy it didn't turn out that way because of the generosity of those around me. I'm glad to inform to anyone else reading that he has been great ever since he finished healing.
We had an awful experience in December when our cat underwent emergency surgery. The surgery took place in the Clonsilla branch and I believe they were too busy getting out on time to provide us with the information on the follow up care. When we returned to the Coolock branch (after UCD sent us back to Village Vets) the vet took more time working our what he needed to charge me to put the drip back into my cat and provide after surgery care, than assessing the cat. Over the two days of trama every visit resulted in our credit card being charged, whether the cat was being left in or collected. The bill ran up and we had no idea what we were being charged for. I did finally get an itemized bill but it took some time. I have since discontinued my plan with Village Vets and made alternative arrangements. But my experience showed me why people use the term "to be treated like an animal" in a negative manner. I hope no other family experiences what we went through.
Staff have always been extremely professional and lovely. It’s always very clear to me that they have my dog’s best interests at heart. Only a few weeks ago my dog had what was the beginning of an ear infection and we rang up and while they had very limited availability in their clinic as it was Christmas week and some staff were out on sick leave they were so accommodating in organizing us an appointment in another clinic, and even helped us out with advice for cleaning his ears while waiting on the appointment. The vets are always lovely and do the best they can for the animals and their love of animals really shines through in their work.
There are no words to express how much myself and my family recommend village vets in coolock. Our little dog Bear is nearly 4 now and has been going here since he was a pup. The staff here are so friendly and so accommodating. Bear is our first dog so most times when he gets sick it is something completely new to us and we always get an appointment. Whenever we have had bear seen the staff have always taken so much time to explain everything to us and they are so kind and gentle with Bear. He also always gets back to himself after they provide the medical care he needs. We are so thankful to them.
Thank you so much to all the staff at village vets coolock you are all amazing caring thoughtful and trustworthy. You were all so lovely to bella and putting her to sleep was the hardest thing I had to ever do but it was the best decision for her.but with you all by our sides we are getting through it. Thank you so much for your kind thoughtful bouquet of flowers and beautiful card that we recieved this morning i would recommend you to everyone.thanks again the Cleary family
Disgusted by My experience heartbreaking , my cat was in an accident not sure what happened but paid over 400 for sedation for an xray , after got a call for over a thousand euro for his surgery option given was to surrender the cat or amputation because I couldn't afford it , it was a nightmare trying to get his xray emailed in the end they did email it to the clinic the day before his surgery , I booked Slane Veterinary clinic . Cost of your vet care is disgraceful .
My cat had ear dirt, when I went to clinic they always said we clean the ear and send me back home then when I went different vet I seen that cat has ear mites. And she has ear infection now. They never said that she has ear mites. They only think about money, vaccines for my cat they keep telling me we don’t have stock ,cat never get vaccinated. End of 4 month I stop going there never get vaccination and right treatments. Good luck who goes there.
Visited the vets today with our family dog unfortunately she was too ill to survive and we were faced with the hardiest decision ever to put her to sleep the lady that dealt with us was so understanding and helpful and really put us at ease for having to choose to put our beautiful Pippy to sleep. Also gave us a beautiful keepsake to treasure her memory forever thanks again for your help and putting our baby pippy out of her pain.
Brought my one year old cat to Coolock Vets last week and I have to say that they were fantastic. Everyone is so friendly and they made it a lovely relaxed visit and couldn't have looked after Luna any better. We both left happy and they rang me a couple of days later to see how she was feeling and said if I was worried to bring her back anytime. All the staff are so friendly and supportive. Best vets around.
Wonderful vets and reception, always polite, friendly and helpful, They genuinely care for your pets and take time to get to know them, Don't hassle you for needless expenses, My partner and I have had only positive experiences with our two cats, I would definitely recommend this village vets to anyone with a pet, Remember to vaccinate and chip!
Cannot praise village vets coolock enough, every single staff member we have ever encountered there has been so friendly, caring and diligent. My pup even gets excited when we go as testimony to how nice they are! Quick to make appointments and are excellent at providing after care and follow up when needed. Highly recommended by me and Gus.
Not very helpful. When I rang for an appointment girl on phone sounded like she had no interest in my call or that my dog had an injured paw. Was very taken aback by her attitude actually. They had no appointment for a week no cancellation list nothing. So glad I went elsewhere. Just can't get the staff I suppose!
I sadly had to bring my dog Suki to be put to sleep yesterday. The vet (who’s name I can’t remember) was the most friendly, helpful person and made the experience a lot nicer than it should’ve been. I can’t imagine it being an easy job for her, but the vet couldn’t have done a better job in my opinion :)
Highly recommend, very helpful in every way, pets always come first. Amazing and wonderfully friendly staff. Always an enjoyable visit. Great value for money too, especially with the pet health plans. Will definitely be bringing my dogs here for the foreseeable future.
Friendly and professional service. My dog got neutered here and all staff were very informative and helpful. I was a bit sceptical about taking him back for a check up after the op, but he seemed to love the place and couldn't wait to go get back in there!
It was my first time in Village vets and I have to say they were very good. Very helpful and understanding as my cat ran away two times befor the vet visit and I had to cancel the appointments. Cat feels better and I'll go with my god as well when needed.
Sorcha, Laura and all the staff here are always so lovely and helpful with my dog. They are very accommodating with appointments and always take great care of my nervous dog who visits them regularly. Thank you so much for the excellent level of care
I put all my trust in this practice. I was bringing my dog there since I got him. Brought him in for all his regular checks and spent hundreds on any meds and treatment that they recommended, was in two weeks ago for a review to be told he
The place its absolutely amazing vets and staff are very good with animals, it's such a pity that my pet Vet, Don will leave the place, my pet absolutely loves Don and next time when will need a vet will go to Don at her new place. Don is
I visited this clinic at the weekend to ask some questions regarding a new puppy I will be getting next weekend. On arrival I met a gentleman happy to help with any questions I had. I found the reception area spotless and neat. I was also
Vets are constantly changing as well as reception staff so quite an inconsistent level of experience. Appointment times are never kept, always being seen 20-30-40 minutes after appointment. Every time going it is a new vet and despite my
The staff are excellent and always so helpful. My dog Molly actually loves going to see Dawn in village vets. We lost our other boxer Jess last year and the staff were amazing with us. Wish I could give you more than 5 stars on the review
Brought my little dog to them a week and half ago. He was on deaths door with pancrinitis. They took him in and worked hard to save him. All the staff were brilliant. They phoned us bang on nine o clock every morning to give us a report
All the staff are always pleasant and helpful. Highly recommended. The health plan has been a godsend for us as Ellie has a skin condition and is on regular meds. As this is our first experience of a cat, and a pretty sick and extremely
Absolute robbers. Stay well clear. Charged €140 to remove a small amount of hair from my dogs paw and a few tablets. Was only with the vet for less than 10 mins. Brought him back a week later cause it wasn’t Healing tried to charge me
Hi there I would like to thank Carla for the excellent end of life care provided to Champ in his last moments. Such a peaceful and calm passing thanks to the professional and caring team at Village Vets. Excellent care and the upmost
Very friendly staff team, always very welcoming and accommodating for appointments to suit our work schedules. Village Vets Coolock have taken great care of both our Rabbit Dexter and our Dog Lucy! Can't recommend them enough!
Very attentive to detail. Great for our cats. Love it. Absolutely recommended. Bernie is amazing. Marte is wonderful person and extremely competent vet as well. The entire team do everything and more to take care of your pets
Always a pleasure bringing our pets here, both our grumpy old cat and the bouncy baby kitten were very well looked after whether it was just a check up, vaccinations or just some questions about what is best for them.
Overall a good service, veterinarians rotation is high, so it is likely your dog is not going to be treated with the same professional all the time. However ultimately the service has been great, nothing to complain
Exceptional staff , refreshing to find a practice with young professional and passionate staff who genuinely care for animals . Vet Dawn is a pleasure to deal with as is everyone else there.
Very friendly & professional staff our dog was at ease and if we have to go back with him we have a breakdown of the cost so no hidden costs thank you village vets definitely recommend
On line booking facility. Integrated with Maxi Zoo. Reception warm and efficient. Animal friendly environment. Caring advice by vet and staff.
My dog was dying in our kitchen and they asked us to make an appointment for the following morning. Other times they've been lovely.
