Denise is truly an exceptional pharmacist. During a time when I was feeling sick and at my most vulnerable, Denise went above and beyond to ensure that I received the proper care and attention I needed. Not only did she help me gather all of the necessary medications and supplies, but she took the time to answer any questions I had and offer advice on how to manage my symptoms. Her kindness, compassion, and professionalism were a bright spot during a difficult time, and I am so grateful for her help. Denise truly embodies what it means to be a caring and dedicated healthcare provider, and I would highly recommend her to anyone in need of assistance. Thank you, Denise, for everything you did to make a difficult situation a little easier. Your hard work and commitment to your patients is truly admirable, and I am lucky to have had the opportunity to receive your care.
probably the worst experience ever. i came down with Covid so my doc called in script at 10AM. I started calling at 11 but could not get through, finally i called at 330 until NICOLE answered the line after a 35 minute wait. i explained that i was very sick with 102 temp and did not think i could make it in, she said the doordash cut off was 4, it was now 405 and she said that they left. I could tell she was not telling the truth so i tried to explain how sick i was and NICOLE hung up on me. oh and when i got there i passed the doordash person leaving and they had no one in line, not busy.
I’ve received my prescriptions here for years. The pharmacy staff is extremely proactive in trouble shooting insurance issues and has been exceptionally helpful throughout the years. Despite the high volume of customers, both the front line pharmacy techs and pharmacists remember me and have even advocated with doctors when they have noticed that specific prescriptions either interact badly with others or could provoke a reaction. I couldn’t recommend this specific pharmacy more… but try not to get there between 5:30-7:00 as there’s always a wait!
The pharmacy is horrible. My doctor had to call multiple times to put the script through, they only partially filled the order and didn't tell me when I called to confirm it was ready, and then they refused to honor my Gold RX Walgreens discount coupons even though I had pre confirmed with them. I ended up canceling the entire order. Very inexperienced and a total waste of valuable time trying to deal with the perpetual messes on their part. DO NOT USE THIS PHARMACY
Tried to buy batteries. They are behind the lock. Pressed assistance help botton. Few minutes later and few presses later still no one came to help. Went to the store across the street, purchased batteries in less time including walking there than I waited here. I get they need security but figure out a system that still allows me to buy stuff. What use is a store where you can't buy things because everything is locked and no one is there to open up the locks?
So grateful this location is still open 24/7! It’s the only one in the city during late night/early morning hours. It’s been a life saver! Staff are nice and helpful. The store has great selection and carries lube that Gary people actually use like Swiss Navy, Gun Oil, etc. Not the typical Astro Glide water based stuff every other store stocks. In addition to a great silicone lube selection they also have other products catering to the Queer community. A+
You can't expect the world from Walgreens, but this is a good location nevertheless. The staff aren't rude and there's a wide selection of things. The store and pharmacy are open 24/7 which is very helpful if you live in the neighborhood and need some essentials late at night. Sometimes it can feel a little sketchy, but that's to be expected from a Walgreens in San Francisco. They usually have a security guard. 10/10
This drug store shouldn’t be allowed to service the public. The city of state whatever in charged for its operation really need to check them out. The store clerks, are rude on the phone. Whenever requested any assistant, merely they were or even tried to help you at all. Sometimes when you get a person answered the phone, they responded in unwelcoming tone; most of the time hung you up like you’re a telemarketer.
I have no issues about the store itself. It's well run. My issue is the homeless situation in front of the store. People passed out, filthy unsanitary conditions. The other businesses in the area like the restaurants and bars don't allow the homeless to camp out in front of their business. The corner of 18th and Castro is an embarrassment to people who live in the neighborhood and tourists visiting our city.
I LA-LAA-LOVE WALGREENS!! Nothing beats all the conveniences they have to offer. Whenever I need to make a store run @ 3 in the morning for a Dr.Pepper, turkey sandwich,Lays,a Twix and a new set of ear buds they're always there for me. It's so nice to have the security of knowing there's at least 1 place around here open 24/7,with a Pharmacy even, for those unexpected emergencies. Castro Walgreens, you GO!!
This store is against the laws. I bought from this store and on the same day I went to retrieve it and was surprised by the employee saying that this store does not accept returns? Then why don't you tell customers before they buy that you don't accept returns, and this is contrary, and I hope the competent authorities hold this company accountable
First time doing a curbside pickup and it was really smooth! Order placed on website was ready in 15 minutes, and the Castro Walgreens had specific parking space for pickup, which was really nice. Once I got to the parking lot, a wonderful clerk came out quickly with my order, super courteous. Great experience, really fast service.
i loved my experience here! with the other reviews i had avoided this place for years. but i went back recently and the staff was friendly. and truthfully, the selection is not large, but at 3 am when you need milk or bandaids, or both... where else can you go? i am sorry i stayed away so long!
This is one of the only, if not the only pharmacy in the city that will be open 24h a day! I got medications there before with no issues. This place is very well located in Castro! It can be a bit difficult to park, and I recommend going by walking if you’re not familiar with the area.
Thank you Patrick at the pharmacy! He helped me figure out insurance issues and got me my medication at midnight. He was very patient and I greatly appreciate everyone in this Walgreens — including the security guard who let me sit down while trying to figure it all out :)
The pharmacy team are fantastic! A special thanks goes to Meakara, he helped my wife and I with our Covid vaccination and was able provide great information that our insurance didn’t know the answers to! And Nina was great and very efficient with the needle!
Walgreens is always a near perfect experience of community and service professionalism. Their pharmacy is almost always busy to very busy, but their staff is excellent, and I dont mind waiting. I'd be loathe to change.
They deal w crackheads all day. Probs to all the workers for being so kind and empathetic. Seen them get robbed twice personally and they continue doing the community a service by being open late.
Too crowded and busy to remain safe, but it’s well run at least. Stock is ok. Way too popular a street corner for its own good. I guess that’s the point with drug stores though. Not a “fun” vibe.
The Walgreens website and Google maps description both say this location has a 24 hour pharmacy. Calling the location during a nighttime semi emergency reveals it is not.
The pharmacy service has gotten really slow lately. It seems so disorganized, they spend so much time trying to find each and every person’s scripts
Even with an appointment for vaccine, you still need to wait on line as a walk-in for your turn. And sometimes the line is long.. shrug.
Anna was tremendously helpful in redeeming my Walgreens rewards. Although it got busy she remained patient and super nice about it.
I've found that it's basically impossible to get the pharmacy to answer the phone. Otherwise this location seems fine.
It's a cool store it's always hot as hell in there though but it's it's a good store they're always friendly to me
Has everything we need. Has food and household stuff for when it's not convenient to get to a grocery store
good location, friendly staff. Only problem is the homeless outside.
Very rude supervisor on graveyard shift and no customer service
They have good packaged candies and snacks.
Great service nice staff 24 hours a days
Awful service, staffs are not friendly.
Great staff at this location
Employee not very helpful
