I sent 2 of my cats here. Here is my experience, you be your own judge. 1st visit) Adopted my kitten, booked her for vaccination, deworming (as her tummy was bloated and we found a worm near her one day) and her eye was watery and shut suddenly. We sent her in (I cannot enter due to COVID, so the vet gave me a call 30min after). In the call, the vet asked what does the worm looked like, told me she dewormed her and vaccinated her. She also recommended to do an eye test ($30 extra) and I asked what for? Then she said the test wasn’t required, will give an eye drop instead. My kitten reacted well with the vaccines, deworm and the eye drop. Totalling $300 for first visit 2) Sent my Adult cat who has chipped canine tooth. We were advised to send in pictures via email first to check the severity. They replied back saying to book him in. I took him in as he needed his yearly vaccination too. On the call, the vet administered the vaccine, recommended another vaccine as he is an outdoor cat, I agreed. They also recommend getting a Leukaemia test (another $100), I asked why, then they said because he is an outdoor cat and I said we can just give him the Leukemia vaccine, they said yes we can administer the vaccine without the test but we recommend getting the test in the next weeks. They also said my cat’s chipped tooth needed to be extracted as the pulp was exposed and cat’s are good at hiding their pain. They quoted $1400 for the extraction at their clinic or a root canal at a specialist. I said I will think about it. This visit totalled about $200 for checkup, vaccine, deworm, flea treatment I went to Bathurst-Dupont Animal Hospital for a second opinion. They actually LET ME IN for the checkup with proper physical distancing and vet wearing face mask and head shield. The vet here poked my cat’s tooth (to see if he is reacting to it - none), move the teeth to see if it’s loose, checked the pulp and determined that extraction is not necessary and to monitor any symptoms. At this point, I have asked to transfer all my cats medical record to this animal hospital instead but my kitten is due her last vaccination and Bathurst Dupont is fully booked so I had to continue the last vaccination. 3) Sent my kitten in for her second vaccination. The vet said she found Fleas on her. Advising flea treatment, I declined as I want to get the flea treatment myself(with another vet) The vet kept pushing that I won’t find this over the counter etc. She also recommend Leukaemia vaccine, I asked why I thought only outdoor cat needs that, she couldn’t explain further and I declined. Summary: Based on my experience, although I am not vet, I trust that the vet should be able to explain further and educate me but what I felt is that the vet is recommending unnecessary treatment so that they could charge more. I am glad I did not extract my cat’s tooth when it is not necessary. To conclude, each time I sent my cats in they tried to add further costs then I requested, second specialist opinion also deemed these costs to not be required. In times of covid when people have lost jobs I think its not am ethical practice to extract people from their hard earned money in a form of guilt trip through their animals health.
It's with a heavy heart that I find myself sharing the profoundly disappointing ordeal I went through with Wellesley Animal Hospital. Just three weeks ago, my cherished cat, Scratchy, passed away . Little did I know that the heartache of losing my beloved pet would be compounded by what transpired next. The unimaginable happened: Scratchy's remains were left abandoned in their refrigerator for an agonizing two weeks, during which time I received no communication or updates. This extended period of uncertainty only intensified my grief and left me in a state of emotional turmoil. To add insult to injury, crucial details we had carefully discussed, including Scratchy's name, age, and my preferences for his urn, were completely disregarded. Seeking resolution and understanding, I reached out immediately, only to be met with an astounding lack of empathy and professionalism from the staff. Their text messages and emails dripped with a callous attitude, further deepening the emotional anguish I was already grappling with. Even more disheartening was the week-long wait for a response—an insufficient, hastily crafted reply devoid of genuine understanding or remorse. This incident exposes a severe failure in hospital management, leaving me and my late pet to bear the brunt of the consequences. The distress and emotional upheaval caused by this negligence are immeasurable, leaving me seeking solace for my pet and myself. I've continually hoped for a sincere apology, but sadly, each interaction has been marred by excuses and evasion of responsibility. It's crucial for others to be aware of the complete disregard I experienced at Wellesley Animal Hospital. In a time when empathy, consideration, and professionalism should prevail, this establishment has shown none. The emotions tied to losing a treasured pet are already overwhelming; no one should have to endure additional pain due to the negligence of a care facility. I implore fellow pet owners to think twice before entrusting their companions to Wellesley Animal Hospital's care. Seek out alternatives that value and respect the memory of your furry friends, where they will be treated with the compassion and attention they deserve. In sharing my story, I hope to prevent others from undergoing the same distress I've been subjected to. No pet owner should have to navigate such heartache alone.
Had a very disappointing first visit with my 12 week old puppy Coco. I chose the clinic due to its early opening hours. I booked an 8.15am appointment so I could get my toddler and ready for daycare, drop him off, take the pup to the vet for her initial visit and second shot then come home and start work. When I arrived, I checked in and 45mins later had still not seen the vet or had any indication of when I might be seen. I ended up having to leave without seeing the vet at 9am so l could go to work. On checking out I asked to cancel my appointment and there was no acknowledgement or apology for not been seen. I asked to reschedule and they booked me a new time again with no acknowledgement of the inconvenience of having to reschedule. I understand appointments can run long sometimes and I could hear the appointment in the treatment room from the waiting room.. it was not an emergency by any means.. just lots of chat. I don't mind people chatting but I had put alot of effort to be at my appointment and was made feel very unimportant. Im not usually one to write reviews and would prefer to address problems directly so I emailed the clinic manager of my visit only to receive no response and be shown again how unimportant my time is. I've cancelled my rescheduled appointment. Note to Management and staff: I have no doubt that you are all personally lovely people but your customers are people too who carve time out of their busy lives to make appointments. Please be empathetic and respectful to that
I could write a book here about the last 2 years that my dog had been under their care, but I would just get a response back saying that they are sorry to hear about my situation. I don’t know what could have happened to my dog if I hadn’t changed him immediately during his illness 2 weeks ago. Luckily I found an honest clinic that does not think about money only. Incredibly how after I changed him to a different clinic they found right away what was his actual problem, instead of doing unnecessary exams and medications as Wellesley Animal Hospital did. To me was beyond unacceptable when they wanted to keep the SAME treatment even after many emails and calls saying my dog was NOT GETTING better. In fact, the medication prescribed was making him worse but it seems that what I was telling them was irrelevant. Not to say about the estimates from them and from the other clinic. They charge more than 3x of other places. I had issues in the past but now I regret to (at that time) pretend it was nothing, until I had a real problem. Now I’m writing to make other pet parents aware. I wish I wouldn’t leave their clinic with this feeling but I can never recommend this place onwards.
Visited this animal hospital recently and had mixed experiences. On one hand, the reception staff seemed a bit unfamiliar with some of the products. We asked about different brands of weight management dog food and received ambiguous answers. There was also an error in calculating the price of a cat's toy - we were overcharged by $12. However, on the brighter side, the vet was extremely professional and addressed my corgi's skin issue efficiently. I'm really grateful for that. Despite the minor hiccups at the front desk, I would still recommend this place for vaccinations and health checks based on the quality of veterinary care provided.
Very impressed with Wellesley Animal Hospital that has a great clinic setup along with the most wonderful staff we have encountered at a vet's. Franczeska who did the intake was efficient, kind and patient to get us the earliest appt possible. Dr. Tara was an absolute delight being caring, patient, professional and listening to our needs. Awesome! Rest of the staff that we came in contact were pleasant as well. This clinic will definitely be our go-to vet instead of the others that have a poor method in treating clients. Highly, highly recommended for your pet's needs.
Unfortunately, my dogs grooming went horrible, to see they came back with swollen red bruises, nails cut too the quicks and redness everywhere from the eyes to private area has been heartbreaking. Seeing my dogs go from people-loving social dogs to isolating anxious dogs has been the most difficult thing I had to bare. Been trying hard to undo the trauma but they both are weary of people so please do your research and don’t be blind to your dogs signs. Sharing for awareness x
Dr. Yu and Selene did such an excellent job taking care of my cat Chavo! He's usually so anxious at the vet, but they took time to make sure he felt comfortable and safe. We just went in for his annual checkup, but they were so thorough and made sure to explain exactly what they looked at and answered all my questions. We'll definitely be going back :) Edit: Selene was also super excited to share some pictures she took of Chavo being a very proud boy.
This was my first visit with my foster dog. It was so nice of them for taking care of the rescue dogs from the Redemption Paws. They were nothing but absolutely friendly and gracious and caring crews! They were very attentive to my foster dog’s need and genuinely interested to know about him and addressed my concerns and questions. I definitely recommend this clinic for any pet owners hands down! 10/10!!
I cannot say enough good things about this clinic! For starters they were able to get me and my dog in with last minute appointment on a holiday! And we were greeted with empathy and kindness from the moment we walked in. Both the doctor and all of her staff were incredible all around. I would suggest this place to anyone! Thank you so much!
Great Animal Hospital in downtown Toronto. Great installations and big jump from the small clinic on Wellesley St. Top professional and dedicated vets, RVTs and staff, lots of different dog and cat services available (including pet grooming), modern equipment and pet loving staff. Not much you can improve in it all. Congratulations.
Always nice and informative! This hospital has the most helpful admins ever out of all 6 animal hospitals we’ve visited! They’re always responsive, attentive, very nice, quick to reply, and very organized. The doctors are great as well. The facilities are also very clean. Overall good experience every time.
We made an appointment and had good interactions with the receptionist, Bonnie. She was able to answer all my questions and was very helpful in general. They had a 50% off discount for the first checkup. But we ended up cancelling the appointment so not sure what the actual veterinary service is like.
Super professional and friendly staff. Really felt like they cared about my puppy after she was fixed. Dr Juliet and her team really went the the extra mile after her surgery to stay in contact via email to ensure Ava was comfortable and I was sure with medication adjustment. Highly recommend
Really knowledgeable and great team. My only critique is they no longer have a small animal vet so we had to find another vet. (Dr. Ma and Dr. Young were amazing, wish they never left). Vet techs were very helpful and very willing to work with my weird schedule.
Clean and modern vet personal were friendly and informative. Melody our cat was seen promptly and the vet was detailed and gave us the info we needed to help her. We can't afford the costs of the exams so getting assistance from The Farley Foundation.
The staff at Wellesley Animal Hospital were always so positive, kind, and compassionate every time I went in with my hedgehog, Pete. When he died, Dr. Ma was a wonderful source of kindness and support and I was confident that he was always
All of the staff we had the pleasure of interacting with at Wellesley Animal Hospital were very warm and welcoming. It was our first time visiting, and Dr. Ladak, Daria and Catherine were very patient and attentive with my cat, Ollie. Very

I put one star two years ago(Nov 2018) and left no comment because it was traumatic and I couldn't talk about it. I had my cat Charlie neuter surgery done here, and it went very bad. I've attached some photos and I apologized if it is too
We recently put our cat down, and I truly can't say enough good things about Wellesley Animal Hospital. From the very beginning, their primary focus was the well-being of our cat--when they couldn't fit him in right away, they listed many
Took my little puppy for grooming only. Staff are very friendly, caring, accommodating and understanding. They took my puppy in for grooming when he was having a hard time clearing an infection completely and needed nail trimming... They
Two reviews from me in quick secession, because I just posted (reposted?) an old 2019 review, from when we brought in Mimsy the Magnificent for a check up last year. Yesterday it was Percy's turn for vet care. I was really impressed with
I have a senior cat who had been traumatized before we adopted her. We provide her with a safe and loving home and over the years she learned to trust us. However, when we take her to the vet, she gets stressed and won't let anyone touch
I need to post a public review about this place because I honestly have not come across staff nicer than the people here. My emails are always answered so quickly, I have no issues getting appointments for my two cats, and everyone is so
Wonderful staff and wonderful place. I've been bringing my cat here since 2017 and they've always been very friendly, professional, and helpful, especially for any emergencies that come up as she gets older. The attention to detail and
