I would highly recommend renting at this storage facility due to the fact that Liza (property manager) was very accommodating, friendly, and knowledgable. She was able to help us through the process even though it appeared to start off a bit rough (not her fault). I went there to rent a storage space and had one picked out. The only problem was that it was the last one in the size I wanted, and the automatic light sensor was not working. Liza assured me that it would be addressed immediately. She was communicative throughout the whole process. When it appeared that it was not going to be fixed immediately, she provided me with updates and options that worked out for both parties. I was very happy with her willingness to ensure that I left happy and continued to support even after the move in. The other pluses going for this place that make it top notch is the other staff member on hand (Shawny) were helpful and pleasant in assisting us. The property is clean and secure and well lit in the parking, storage spaces and floors. I love that the parking/loading area is covered and storage is accessible quickly via tow sets of elevators. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a long term /short term storage place.

Just want to say that Chris at Self Storage is Awesome! If he’s not a manager or supervisor...he should be!! We have had a storage unit there for over 6 yrs. & I know that they have changed up their management and/or Staff a few times in the last year & we haven’t always been great fans of the changes, but currently, Chris...he’s a keeper! All my recent calls and interactions with him are Great! He’s been very courteous and kind and most of all understanding of the current time w/ Corona in everyone’s lives & the stress and uncertainties it’s causeing people! He talks to people with respect & comes across as understanding & considerate! He’s Always easy to talk to! I think that as companies grow & get bigger...they forget about Customer Service... You can have the Biggest & Best facilities but if you don’t care about your clients...it doesn’t matter!! I know that when I look up something online that I need & there are many choices... I bought a unit and worked with Jessica. She was definitely the bright spot at this facility. Very nice and polite. I give this review 5-stars because of her. Now let me address the pros and cons of this facility. Pros: Parking inside the gate is easy and there is lots of parking spaces. They have codes for gate and elevator making it secure. The building itself and units are nice and clean. Prices are reasonable. Jessica and the other individual I met at front desk was very kind and helpful. Cons: Just in a terrrrrrrrrrrrrrrible area. There are a good amount of bums/addicts/losers on the outside and the people around the facility are the very bottom of the totem pole. If God sent a meteor that wiped out that surrounding area He would be doing the world a big favor. If this facility was magically moved to a different area would be top notch. But the facility can’t help that so I didn’t dock them on stars just something you should know before you rent there. So moral of the story…the facility and staff are awesome. The people around there and the area itself are 0 stars.

Update: 5-5-2023. In addition to the rave review below, I recently had to close out one of the storage units. With other companies, this has been a painstaking process. With West Coast Storage (Amy and her team), it was an clear, easy process and the refund came within a couple of days. This speaks to the high level of customer service with the emphasis being on the customer! These folks are awesome. I researched storage companies for our business needs for a large move of restaurant and office equipment. We needed 2 units. By far, Amy was light years ahead of the other companies with regard to customer service. I was able to reach her directly when needed and she gave the personal service that set her apart from the others. The ease of the entire transaction (storage selection, paperwork, payment) was simple and seamless. I highly recommend West Coast Storage - you will enjoy working with Amy.

I started storing my stuff at West Coast in Columbia City in 2016. I finally have a place where I can have all of my stuff in the same place, and I moved out last weekend. Chris signed me up and has been excellent about answering my questions when I had them or to update my billing information. When I've left voicemail, I've always received a timely call back. I'm realizing now how rare that is. I've moved three times and had to move some stuff in and some stuff out at various times over the time I've been a customer, and the fact that I can get in until 10PM every day has been incredibly convenient. I've always had a spot to park and there has always been a cart available. Being able to park behind the gate helped me feel like I and my stuff were safe as I was loading and unloading. I'll probably need storage again and if I do, West Coast Self Storage in Columbia City will be my first choice!

I highly recommend West Coast Self-Storage! Chris was really considerate and helpful. It's clear he cares about the people and their situations, not just as customers to rent a unit. With all the chaos of this past year, I really appreciate that. I rented a storage unit there for ~10 months. I left because my living situation changed and I had moved states, not because of any issues with WCSS. The facility is secure and I felt totally safe leaving my stuff there for long stretches of time. Moving in and out is easy. The halls are well-lit and clean. If you are in Seattle, check this place out. You won't find a better price or service anywhere within the city.

I strongly recommend West Coast storage. This is a gated, indoor facility (you setup a code to enter). Everything feels safe, clean and protected. It’s so easy to drop by to either pickup or drop off items. There’s always plenty of parking and they have carts to make it easy to pick up or drop off items in your unit. Also, I appreciate that they don’t continually raise their prices. Chris and Toan are friendly and helpful! If you’re looking for storage, I highly recommend West Coast Storage! I’ve been very happy with my experience so far!

I’ve had to use a lot of different storage units in my life and this one has been by far the easiest to use and access. Chris was super nice and very friendly. I actually ended up spending about 30 minutes talking to them just about regular things while I was checking in. This last winter I had someone break into my old storage unit and steal everything I had. Looking at the facilities and the security cameras, I felt very comfortable leaving my stuff there.

Well-run facility and courteous, professional and experienced management team. Thanks to Sheryl and Chris (and everyone else throughout the years), my experience renting here for has been almost hassle-free despite the location in a transitional neighborhood off Rainier Ave S. The huge covered loading area saved me from the weather many times! It's a shame the rent suddenly exploded recently as I would likely still be renting here. High marks overall!

After COVID so much has happened and Chris will really work with you and help you no matter what. Just come and see. If you want to rent a storage room for more than 6 months, don’t pick this facility. After first three months, they increases the storage rent. Now they are sending us an email to inform an increase the storage rent again. Only half of a year, they increased the rent twice PS be aware you need to give them 30 days written notice to end rental with them meanwhile, Seattle apartments only require 20 days written notice to move out

I feel a sense of belonging. I feel valued when I speak with Chris and Toan because they know me; they are not rude and they don't sound like they want to hang up the moment they take my phone call. A lot of people sound like they're always in a hurry and don't want to be bothered. Chris and Toan aren't like that. I feel safe with the indoor parking. I feel safe when I go to my unit and rearrange stuff even if it takes me an hour.

The management and security is excellent at Columbia City's West Coast Storage. My rental process went smoothly, easy online payments, excellent security at the gate where you drive in to the parking area and elevators, both with personal code entry. The office watches who is entering by security cameras. Moving-in was easy, dollies are available for free at the elevators. This is a very clean storage facility, highly recommend.

After being in quite a pickle when picking up a large bookcase from a West Coast Storage customer at the Columbia City location, Amy stepped-up in a big way. The bookcase did not fit in our car and Amy went above and beyond to come up with a solution which included sourcing a large enough UHaul pickup from another location so that we could quickly get this item to our home. Amy is stellar! Thank you.

I was immediately impressed with how clean and in order every area of this facility is. I found everything in the same immaculate condition on every visit. Chris, the manager always went above & beyond. On the day I cleaned out my storage and closed my account Chris actually helped me load up the last of my things. He watched as I drove through the security gate...felt like saying goodbye to family!

We have had a ground floor unit for about 5 years now. Over the years we have upgraded to bigger units as we needed more space. Chris and Cheryl have always helped us with smooth unit changes. The units were always clean, ample parking and we felt safe our stuff was secure. Our favorite unit is 1009 as it is on ground level and you could park your car or truck right to the unit.

Just starting to do business with them, but service is attentive and great so far! UPDATE: Liza, the manager, and Shadi, are super-attentive and polite. Liza has helped me get a new unit, our second in a year, here, and has been so helpful and kind. We came back because the service was good last time. The specials are also good, and the place is clean and well kept. Recommended.

She sounded super nice on the incoming call but we must’ve had a bad connection. When I called back and got the same representative she was completely rude. I told her to cancel the reservation. Will find another storage company.

Liza treated my stepmother neighborly and made her feel like she was doing business with someone she knows. So I can tell Liza has customer service down pat She needs customer service assistance at busy times of the day so she can give everyone exemplary customer service like she gave my stepmother. But I recommend this conveniently located secure facility!

There is a manager here, her name is Amy, and she is the person you want watching over your belongings, and she is the person you want to do business with. She is polite, alert, and effective. I have rented from 4 other companies and have never had someone as competent, as her. She truly makes me feel at ease when my valuables are out of my sight.

5 star customer service everytime I visit And all my needs are met respectfully. Chris is always really helpful and makes sure the transaction goes smoothly. The location is perfect and the security is top notch compared to other storage facilities. I recommend to friends and family often and will continue to store my valued belongings here.

In a city where individuals and families are struggling to live in smaller spaces, West Coast Storage should think about how their hefty price increases affect the community.

I loved this storage location. Very safe and gated area, wonderful hours that makes accessible to your unit most hours of the day. (Until 10pm is nice when you work late). Very helpful staff, Chris helped us through both getting a unit and moving out with ease. Would stay here for longer if I wasn’t moving out of area! 10/10 recommended.

I had a great experience. Jake was the person who helped me set up my storage unit. He was very professional and patient with me. Jake explained your policies, showed me a couple of units that I could choose from and even gave me a cold bottle of water, as it was pretty warm outside!

Columbia city self storage is great when you need some extra storage in the city. They were always super helpful and available during office hours. The location was clean, secure, and safe. My only minor complaint is that after the first 3 months they increase the price of the unit.

Chris is great! He hooked me up with an initial deal that saved me a heck of a lot of money over the past few months I've had a unit. The facility is well lit and super clean. Even if you get a small unit, check the ceiling height! You might be able to stack quite high like I have.
