SUMMARY. This is one of my go-to stops for beer, wine, and spirits. I am a huge fan of the wide selection, fair prices, and friendly staff. Their location is perfect for easy access and avoiding lines. VERY convenient! LOCATION. Located about a half mile west of the West End 440 exit. Dedicated parking lot always has available spaces. SELECTION. Selection is definitely up to my standards with regard to spirits and wine. I haven't gotten too adventurous with beer here, so I cannot comment. One time they did not have a specific region of wine I asked for (South African), but that was definitely a one-off. SERVICE. The service is great! The staff is SUPER friendly, informative, and helpful. It always makes coming here an enjoyable experience! PERKS. Follow them on Instagram for access to small batch drops. This is the only place I've ever been able to get Blanton's. That being said, be prepared to rush over once the Instagram post drops! I got here 20 minutes after the post once and there was only 1 Blanton's bottle left! VALUE. The value is good. Compared to other places, the wine I get here is usually cheaper. Their Cabernet Sauvignon prices often beat or are competitive with Kroger's, unless Kroger's has some kind of deal going on. The best part is the efficiency, as there are rarely lines. I can get out of my car, get what I came for, and be back in my car within 5 minutes. Tough to beat! TAKEAWAYS. Great place to pick up alcohol quickly and cheaply—especially for wine and spirits! This store has no regard to what’s right and safety for citizens. As a surrounding businesses owner that resides across the street from Discount Liquor. I’m personally disgusted with how they run there business. I had a customer walk into my shop that was extremely noticeably intoxicated. As the customer was leaving he asked for the closest liquor store. While watching the customer leave my shop he entered the driver seat of a vehicle and drove across the street, while nearly hitting multiple parked cars in the process. After not being able to see the tag number to inform police I called Discount Liquor to inform them. The gentleman on the phone acted like I was wasting his time and he didn’t care. As someone who have lost friends and family members to drunk drivers I’m appalled that they sold to the customer and I watched him walk out the store liquor in hand and drive off. If you know anyone that’s been affected by drunk driving you can blame shops like Discount Liquor to knowingly sell to someone already intoxicated behind the wheel. I’ll will never recommend to anyone to spend their money at place that only cares about a quick buck and not the safety of lives.

Worst customer service. I would give a minus star if it was available. I would go anywhere but here. I went in asking if they had any wellers bourbon and was told that that was the stupidest question they had ever heard. Said that he only gets six bottles a year and why would I think that tonight would be the night that he got those six. I tried to be polite but after that exchange I began walking out. He asked if I wanted any green label whiskey. I said if I did it wouldn't be from them. The people there are jerks. Probably the owner.

I am completely changing my first review. I had one of the best experiences at a liquor store about 6 months ago, but that has changed drastically!! I came in Saturday night and was yelled at and belittled by a lady that worked there, whom I believe was on drugs. I don’t think I will be going there again cause it was such a bad experience. It’s a shame cause it’s right down the street from where I live and the rest of the staff seems very helpful!

Very clean and efficiently ran store. Good selection of wine and liquor given its size. Not quite as much beer. They are observing wearing masks which is appreciated. I've found several good bottles of tequila,gin and rum here that I would not call common. Prices are higher on some items beer in particular seems priced high. However the location is very convenient with excellent parking out front.

Lady there said, “ everyone with me must show ID.” They are not even the ones buying or consuming the liquor. It was jus too much for me to carry by myself. She said I could walk back in 5 mins later and get the liquor. That doesn’t make sense too me. She was too wishy washy with her explanation. Never will I ever go back to the store again.

Great service and location but there was a guy out front begging for money which was not the issue it was that he didn't have a mask on and was trying to lean his head in people's cars asking for money and when I kindly asked him to get back and gave him a dollar and a cigarette he then got angry and was trying to get in my car

This is my go to store for reasonably-priced French wines. Quality wine -- not attitude. Staff are very knowledgeable. If you want recommendations, tell the staff (esp David S or Barry) what you are serving, the grape or style you like, or a style --full-bodied, light, etc. and you will receive great suggestions.

If I could leave 0 stars, I would. The staff is absolutely amazing but the store is ridiculous hot. I break a sweat just walking around trying to find what I am looking for. This has been a problem for weeks now. I am going to have to find a new liquor store as I can’t stand the heat.

The large selection ends up being this store's downfall, since stacks of products are the walls of many of the (very narrow) aisles. It's the go-to Vandy liquor store, so expect everything that's not on sale to be a few dollars more than what you'd find elsewhere.

Staff is extremely knowledgeable and friendly!! Helped me find a gift for my husband that was right in my price point! It also doesn’t hurt that one of the employees brings their sweet little fur baby, Allie, behind the counter!! I love this store!

After spending the last 3 years living in the midtown area, I’ve determined this is my favorite neighborhood store. HP (the owner) is very genuine and friendly. The store is the most fairly priced in the area. Huge selection of liquors and wines.

After getting screamed at by one of the employees for asking for a $30 bottle of bourbon, I’m pretty sure he had a stroke after we left. I have never seen a grown man throw a fit because a paying customer asked for something. Hard to believe.

West end discount liquor Is close to where we are staying, with their huge selection of vine,liquor,beer,mixed cocktails and very friendly staff this is a great stop before any party. Thank you for providing great customer service!!!

Not only a large selection, but an electric selection of music is played over the speakers. It may be hard to hear more the two songs while on a liquor run. But, as a repeat customer, it is something I noticed and enjoyed.

Fantastic selection with some of the nicest staff in the Southeast! Great pricing and service. Make sure to go when near the Vanderbilt area. My go to spot and the owner and staff know spirits well.

Very rude and unhelpful. But I have notice first hand that they do their fair share to contribute to, and enable the rampant alcoholic/homeless population in the area.
