"My favorite grocery store in all of Austin"
Lots of parking space, inside is rather small and super crowded - all kinds of brands and foods that you can buy if you're on a special diet or just prefer exclusivity. It's definitely a different vibe from the Dallas Central Markets - this is more like a glamorized version of when trader joints first opened. Produce is very fresh, fresher than anything in Austin! Meat selections are subpar but they have a wonderful array of seafood. Food isle are confusing and the signs don't really tell you wants down them so a lot of items are bunched together but not displayed on the signs. Frozen food section is only 4 cases and it's mostly prepared foods but all in all a great little place to shop. Won't stop me from going back again and again.
If you want to go somewhere loaded with Foodies and a staff that really cares about the sections they curate then this is your store! The floral department is des pas de resistance. Quirky and traditional options lots of fresh flowers all priced fairly and I've never met a flower person that was not helpful and delightful. Another section that really deserves extra praise is the wine and beer area where I always seem to be able to find an expert to make the perfect choices for whatever event or small gathering I am throwing. The in-house roasting coffee area is also delightful love to try the samples and talk to the guys behind the counter they seem so passionate about coffee!
This place is awesome! 24-hour security survalence; so it's also safe. Get your quality chocolates, produce, groceries, and cleaning supplies at The Central Market. Do you need a haircut? They have a Great Clips. Seeking fine home furnishings? Grab them at Skandanavia. Looking for like minds, friends, kindreds, or just a quality stretch? Grab a class or two and embody your highest self with the wonderful teachers at the Flow Yoga studio. Or if you seek rest and relaxation, there is a massage studio right next to Flow Yoga. And If an ice cream treat is what you seek; Amy's and her ice cream is in this plaza as well♡
I go there because of their bread, but the quality and the variety of products aren't truly exceptional. Prices are, though, and you better watch out because you can easily buy something more expensive than it usually costs anywhere else because it looks fancy all around you so you're led to think that the product is better. It's not. Though, I like this shop because, like the bread, you'll find things you hardly find somewhere else. Just go and do the comparison with Spec's and Costco. It's worth the visit.
My favorite grocery store in all of Austin. The produce, fish, meat are the best. But the bakery is also awesome. I buy all my spices, dried fruit, beans and rice in the bulk section. The cheese selection is amazing. The deli and prepared soup are delicious and they have a wide variety of cured olives from around the world. I always keep their fresh pesto in my fridge to drizzle on pasta or to doctor up a frozen CM or Austin Pizza frozen pizza. The floral department is stunning. Did I say I love it enough?
This is for Central Market. Everything's great about this place. I'm sure theres a Good time to go when it's not as crowded. Altho I usually can only shop for produce here. Things are a bit expensive for my budget. Altho the great produce is a treat I allow myself. They often have MacIntosh Apples which is main reason I go. My Grandparents had a tree up north. They're my favorite apple. I hardly ever see them down here. I love Texas. But I do miss a few things up home.
There was no canopy to protect those waiting to get in the store from the very hot sun it was 10:30 am it was 91 degrees. I didnt mind waiting, it just there were vulnerable people( babies and the elderly) in the line who would be susceptible to having a heat stroke before Corona virus even gotten a chance. Plus the tall male manager at door didnt even have a mask on, which was a slap in the face to us who were abiding by the rules to get into this joint.
I love walking around this shopping mall. It's very calm and has some beautiful stores to look at. If you're into seeing a movie and getting some ice cream I'd say visit Amy's and Westgate. Parking will be tight during heavy holidays at times. However if you are bussing you can take a few different busses to arrive here. There is also a mass transit station to get to different points in Austin.
I mean, you're asking me about the center as a whole?! I use 2 stores of the myriad here, so for those.. great, the rest I cannot speak to. Although I will say there is typically an overhang infront of each store, so if you get stuck in a pandemic and need to line up to get groceries standing 6ft apart, and it stretches for a 1/4 mile, and then it begins to rain, well, you mostly got cover.
Central Market has been great since the day it opened. Huge selection of just about anything you could imagine and the staff is always friendly and helpful. If I had any complaint at all it would be it is always crowded simply because it IS so good. Everyone loves it and must feel like I do, I put up with the crowds because it is worth it. Now that should say a lot about the Market!
Very clean and nice. They have the largest selection of live goats and 2 crocodiles. Goats and chickens are fed to the crocodiles everyday at noon and kids participate in the activity. They also sell local moonshine. You have to ask about the moonshine at the checkout in a low voice. I really love the fish section where slaughtering in a way of life.
Incredibly crowded and actually had to leave because people were literally bumping into me with enough force I actually fell over. Not safe during this pandemic, I'll return when things are safer seeing how customers and employees are incapable of social distancing. No hand sanitizer at check out. People walking around without masks. Nope nope nope.
Went to Central Market this morning to get some pre Thanksgiving goodies ! The produce section was well stocked and the food aisles were fully stocked as well! While I enjoy coming to this store to shop for specialty items. I don't enjoy how crowded to this store can get. So make sure you have ample time to shop and check out! …
Love this place, but it’s on the $$$ range. But if you need something special such as decent seafood imported cheeses breads this is the place to go. Except for the same wines you can find it for much less at H‑E‑B. Food court pizza was ok, I asked for fresh tomatoes on the margueritta and they sent me sundries tomatoes.
This is one of my favorite drinks with a low amount of caffeine but enough to get you going! I used to be able to find it locally around a couple of different grocery stores. Currently I can only find it at this location so I make a special trip. While I'm here I also check out other goodies that closer grocery stores don't offer.
Central Market is awesome. Largest selection of organic vegetables, meat, seafood. Large liquor selection beer and wines from all over the world. Their prepared foods are always good. But the best thing is the cafe. Every day the have specials but the serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. Reasonable prices.
I visited both Skandinavia furniture store and Central Matket. At Skandinavia, the employee offered assistance and suggestions for a later purchase. At CM, I found the items I was looking for that I can't find at other supermarkets. A very good shopping trip even if it was out of my way. …
Great epicurean product selection! Over priced for many things that you could buy at a regular HEB, but product selection is excellent! I go here to pick up a couple of things occasionally or for specific things that I cannot find elsewhere, like certain cheeses or crumpets, dressings or jams.
I like this place for the take out food order counter; and the deli counter is good, great selection; lots of quality food to go selections. The dining/seating area is mostly clean and the customers there enjoy their food. The higher costs here are worth it, and staff is helpful and caring.
I went to Central Market & I LOVE it!! Grr8 Stuff and Food Everything is FRESH... The employees are very helpful. We ate at the Cafe there, U had their Salmon and my wife had a Cheeseburger and we had some wine, then we shop for groceries. Nice Place, Love It to the MAX!! …
The live music is a nice lift to the shopping experience. The floral shop makes everyone smile, the produce looks and smells like it's just been brought in from the farm. Surprising range of cheese selections. Waay more than grocery shopping... it's food philosophy for good living.
Food is good. Prices are high. Service is mediocre. Although I did find one person who was very willing to help after having several other employees just shrugged their shoulders and say I don't know. This is why I gave it a three-star rating, and I was probably generous at that.
Too many places here to leave a single review. It is a nice shopping center. Some places are over priced and others are okay. Central Market is awesome but it is an HEB company so no wonder there. HEB is awesome. The cinema theatre is nice here too. Just not always the cheapest.
I always love central markets fresh produce, meat / seafood counters, bakeries and prepared foods. They also have products you cant get at HEB stores. The staff is always polite, friendly and helpful. The only complaint I have is we only have two locations in the Austin area...
Wanting to go more low waste and coming here is a great start! You measure your produce yourself and can bag things yourself as well. Big selection of organic and non-organic and diverse range of foods! Love the layout and makes it standout! Also staff is very friendly!
Part of the parking lot under construction blocking the entire lot. No signs about going around at the entrance. After entering and got to where I could see the construction I had to find a safe place to turn around then exit the parking g lot and fi d a new entrance.
When in Austin be sure to take-in the Central Market. One of the finest places to enjoy an unlimited selection of products west of the Mississippi River! Don’t miss the restaurant! One can relax enjoy the bottle of wine you just purchased or a local tap beer.
We really didn't do shopping here at all. The only reason we went here was for Bath and Body Works. Although, I can say that I thought the shopping center was cute and we'll presented. It felt like it has been there for years. Wouldn't mind going back.
I - Love - Central Market. I love the ambiance, the quality, the unique selection, the cafe and so much more. As a family, we head there at least once per month for groceries, food (at the cafe) and music. We also love the shops and other businesses.
Beautiful flowers to fresh market with delicious fruits, vegetables, seafood and meats. Always go home with something yummy from the prepared section. The deli meat selection is best in town! I recommend the no nitrate pastrami or bison.
Hopefully everyone is shopping at Central Market! I love how low-pressure and relaxed it feels, and everything is well stocked! Some of the specials can be lower priced than average HEBs, if you really pay attention to their weekly ads.
Central market is the better half of HEB and I really wish there was one out here in West Austin in the Lakeway Bee cave area. The market is definitely out here to make it succeed for sure with lots of retired and wealthier people with
I like the atmosphere and the variety of higher end products you can find especially in bulk. However, there are so many expensive ready made meals that I have to "doctor" up myself when I get home. For example, the tabouli. You can
I love this place. I've gone here for years. My only complaint is when I went (I went to go eat) there was only a small portion of food on the menu that was available. I don't know if it was just that day but it was pretty upsetting
I mean seriously they have one of the best selections of organic food I have come across not to mention their in house roasted coffee selection. Youay pay a bit more here but the original selection from soap to coffee is worth it
My fave Central Market. Best produce section in town. Pass the Bakery by if you can't do bread cause they'll get you and its delicious. Pan de Queso (brazillian mispell) ) Best sourdough loafs in town so far. Bulk bin heaven.
They have three chocolate vision B12 candy. Maybe a .5 ounce package.....NO PRICE. GOT IT HOME....IT WAS TWELVE DOLLARS. Same worth the granola...pumpkin....FIFTEEN DOLLARS. I wild not go back here seven I'd I did move here
I love this place. I am not all into the organic movement but this place never stops opening my eyes to something new. A little pricey for some things but I feel the atmosphere and vibe it creates more than justifies it.
Central Market cheeseburger and fries...really great burger..really great fries. Their American breakfast has only one rival. In today's world I have to admire their bacon. It's not sliced so thin I can see through it.
My weekly grocery store. Great selection, cheaper than Whole Paycheck, and plenty of staff to assist with anything! Oh, and Bernice in Vitamins, has a wealth of great information! She should definitely get a raise!
I eat here often and like it. The store is very clean throughout. My only recommendation is to provide a change in prepared meals sometimes. They always have the same dishes and different choices would be nice.
I love shopping here always fresh vegetables and fruit, wonderful selection in the deli,my favorite the meat department so clean and butcher's are so wonderful in helping and explaining your choice of meat..
i will help delegate my opinion, to the commoner, unlike myself, who are remarkable achiever's, in their incorporating kosher foods into their fundamental care.I don't have $ to do that hovering, practicing.
What can I say? This is an older strip mall, with older facilities. It is sometimes difficult to find and drive into and out of. This whole area would be immensely improved by development and modernization.
I came here on a quiet morning and was greeted with unexpectedly wonderful customer service by the woman checking out my items! She was so sweet and friendy and i could tell she loved being there!
Great place to visit for groceries or for lunch and dinner. We particularly enjoy the live music artists that play on the weekends. Specially the Salsa music days such as Cienfuegos and the Brew.
Went into 5 below, I always enjoy shopping here. You never know what you'll find. Also got my eyes brows waxed no appointment needed. Walked in and went straight to a chair. Very nice place.
Even though theres a little remodeling the store is clean and organize, friendly employees, MIC looks like he belongs in WWE, cool man, he even had time to talk to us, great job, Thanks
Even during covid and after winter storms they were still as friendly as ever and were surprisingly better stocked than anywhere. Was such a life saver when nobone else had anything.
This shopping center has a good variety of stores and a great movie theater. My favorite store is Central Market. A must visit just to browse the different kinds of food they offer.
There is a nice variety of businesses here. Plenty of parking and handicap parking. There is a second hand store, swim school, martial arts, auto store, wing bar, craft beer venue.
Great place for organic and delicious food. Wide variety of dishes ready to eat and a great variety of coffee from around the world. Very knowledgeable staff, always very helpful.
Very clean, helpful staff and good selection of foods. My only issue is enforcement of masks. There was a woman with two kids and none had on masks. What is your policy on this?
This store is always changing. Just when you think you got it memorize, it changes its setup all over again. And don't get used to an item, because they may stop selling it.
Been going since I was a kid. Excellent selection of fresh fruits and veggies and I'm in love with the coffee they roast. Convenient to some other cool shops and places.
Great little plaza for quick stops. When you don't feel like running around the city all day. Groceries, clothing, boots or whatever you need you can probably find here.
I like this place and this is where I get my veggies and fruit. Great service. I usually dont leave without something sweet. Take advantage of the express checkout area.
This center has a good mix of stores, a major bus stop and has easy access to major roads but is also pedestrian and bicycle friendly. It is kept very clean and tidy.
Nice shopping mall located in the Hwy 290 close to westgate. It has huge parking space. Mall encloses central market, dental clinic, super cuts,Bed bath &beyond,Regal
Near the city’s edge and an older suburb, this supermarket houses a cafe and many unique choices not found in typical supermarkets. I like their bulk tea selections.
Central Market @ Westgate is a great place to shop. They have great vegetable selection, fresh meats (fish, beef, chicken) well stocked bulk section, and much more
Their Build Your Own Sandwich platter is our go to for food at our kid's parties. So good and fresh. A huge upgrade from pizza. My favorite grocery store in town.
Went into the central market, none of the products in there are for anyone on a budget or looking for a sports drink. The regal theater was pretty decent though.
Absolutely hate this store. Bunch of rude people. Don't really resemble Austin Natives. But, They do have the best spice selection around. I will give them that.
Delicious fresh pressed juices! I also love the bulk section, olive bar, and bakery. Don't go on a holiday or on a weekend or you'll be squashed by the hordes.
Central Market and Whole Earth Provisions are my main stops. Parking is not too bad unless you hit a rush then it gets bad. Lots of neat stuff at both places.
Really comfortable seating! Extended loungers and wide isles in the front. Great variety of food and snack choices and top movies to see on the big screen!
Love going at this place. I can order food in buy a bottle of wine in drink it at the eating area. I just love it. There ice cream is so delicious …
Very mindful of safety, but often too crowded on the weekends to socially distance six feet. Great products and produce. Great customer service.
I love this location. I find great items here. Pickles I can't get at other stores. Nice people. Specialty teas by bulk. Nice soap and candles.
I love this Central Market. The entire staff is awesome, the store us amazing. I live an hour away and still shop there when I get to town.
Place was packed and cramped with shelves. Loved how there were different items that you can't fins any where else and all natural things.
Went shopping in Country Market at the Westgate Shopping Centre. Fantastic selection of products, especially the fresh food sections.
I like the place, nice employees, clean restrooms. The only problem is the chair cushions "worn-out" it's a torture after 30 minutes.
Their bakery, deli, fresh vegetables and meat departments are my favorites. There beer and wine section is wonderful.
Went to pick-up order at Bath & Body that my wife ordered, great place very convenient to our shopping needs.
Limited menu. Caesar salad was just okay. The added chicken breast meat was a small portion and flavorless.
I like this place because of Central Market. I was visiting the AOMA accupuncture place behind this center.
Can't complain. Central Market hits any mark a regular HEB may miss, if that could ever be a thing. Salute
Cinema, Central market grocery, Few restaurants. Good parking (eady in/out). New rock climbing gym.
I love being at Central Market South. Great food, fantastic variety. Smells like heaven in there.
The only place I can find my thai chilies. They have various options of herbs and bakery aswell!
Always find something new and delicious at Central Market. Friendly staff and great atmosphere.
I like black garlic this is the only place that I can find it . I have checked many places.
Always the best from entering to the exit. Help is always available to assist if needed
My first time visiting here. I like it a lot. Many of my faves all in one spot.
Always well maintain shopping center. Central market there is a great location.
Enjoyed watching a movie at Regal Westgate Theatre. The seats were comfortable!
Can't go there without stopping for gelato. Always clean always helpful people
Central market is better then Whole Foods, wish it was bit closer to my home.
Great groceries and friendly staff. Fish, meats, and bakery is outstanding.
I went into Bath and body works. Everyone was pleasant and very helpful
The people working at Central Market are amazing, helpful, engaging.
Great selection of gourmet foods , love the artisan breads, an sodas
Love Cental Market. Food is high quality and prices are reasonable.
Live music events in the evenings at Central Market are wonderful.
Good food, family fun lunch, loud goofy two-man band, so Austin.
Went to see a jazz concert for college. Pretty cool experience
I really like the wife variety of healthy and ORGANIC food!
