DO NOT USE THIS VETS. My boyfriend, Steven, took my rabbit, Bee, into White Cross Vets on Tuesday 29 October. She had rapid weight loss, reduced appetite and severe lethargy. Steven explained to the veterinarian that Bee had the ex...act same symptoms as our other rabbit, Bumble, who had sadly died four weeks before. Despite this, the vet said he didn't know what the cause could be, and stated that she would need blood and faeces tests to determine any cause. The costs of such tests, as well as the check-up and some paste to encourage her to eat, came to a total of around £164.00. Steven was given no indication of the cause or suggested treatment for Bee, even though she was on the verge of death. Steven was told to go home with the rabbit and that the blood results would come through either the following day or on Thursday. When Steven called me to explain what had happened at the vets, I was quite shocked. Being that both rabbits had exactly the same symptoms within similar timeframes, I couldn't understand how the veterinarian could say "he didn't think it was related". I contacted Baildon Vets that morning to ask for their advice. They said that they wouldn't even bother with a blood test, as it was almost certainly the common rabbit parasite, E. cuniculi. They said that they would give immediate treatment for this in the hope that Bee would pickup. I called the White Cross veterinarian that morning, but he didn't mention this potential parasite. He said that he had given Steven the option of the blood test and faeces test, and that we didn't have to go through with them, though it was the only way to determine what the cause may be. I agreed to cancel the faeces test, just leaving the blood test, which brought the costs down to £97.00, which I still think is ridiculous. The following afternoon I received a call from the White Cross veterinarian, who stated that Bee was in a bad way, being only 13% blood; and that she was probably internally haemorrhaging. I was very upset and asked what we should do next. The veterinarian suggested some scans and x-rays, which would probably cost "a few hundred pounds". I explained that I didn't have the money for them and was obviously very upset. The vet said that he had spoken to a specialist and that neither of them had any idea what the cause could be. He suggested that if I couldn't pay for the scans, then I should consider putting Bee down. That evening I managed to get an appointment at Baildon Vets, I was greeted in a warm, friendly manner and the staff all made a fuss over Bee. She was weighed, given a check-up, steroids, antibiotics and vitamin C. I was advised on what to feed her to bring her strength up and I was charged a reasonable amount. The following day Bee's health had picked up slightly so I went to pick up treatment for E. cuniculi from Baildon Vets and given wormer for both Bee and my other rabbit, Florence, to stop her getting the parasite. Since the end of October, Bee's health has greatly improved thanks to Baildon Vets. I have never felt so let down as I do by White Cross. I feel they have taken advantage of two very upset people and you have caused us more stress than necessary. If you love your pets, do not use White Cross Vets.

We have been taking our dogs to White Cross at Guiseley for many years now, and I highly rate not just the service from the vets, but the nurses and reception staff. They are always happy and friendly but more importantly caring and understanding when you are worried about your pets. We have a wellness plan for our pets, we pay a very reasonable monthly sum and this includes all worm and flea treatments, unlimited free consultations, yearly health screening and vaccines, discounts off different services such as neutering, discounts off products and foods too. Last night our lucky dog also got his anal glands emptied completely free of charge!!! Ok, so maybe he didn't feel lucky but my purse was very pleased!! They have puppy parties which are seriously good fun and even a referral service, so if someone refers you there make sure you mention it and you both get an account credit.... not to be sniffed/ woofed at!! Thank you to you all at White Cross Vets Guiseley for taking care of our beloved boys over the years

After an awful experience at a different vet practice I spent some time researching outstanding vets in Leeds. I found outstanding, then some. Such warmth, professionalism and talent. My Echo, black Labrador needed surgery to remove a lump from near her eye. I was keen to have it done before Christmas and this practice were sensitive to my concerns about the lump and anxiety about the procedure. They treated Echo like gold and made me feel completely at ease, not only that but Alex removed the lump successfully and has made the neatest incision I have ever seen. She is an absolute master of her craft and I am so grateful to have found a practice I can trust. I would recommend this vet practice. We won’t go anywhere else now. Thank you thank you thank you

White Cross Vets, Guiseley is the BEST veterinary practice I've ever been a client of in my 60+ years of taking pets to the vet for care. I know that at White Cross Vets, Guiseley, our pets will ALWAYS receive the most thorough and professional veterinary care possible along with love and attention from each and every staff member from Vets to Nurses through to the Client care assistants. Everyone at this practice is more than excellent at their job and truly care for each and every creature that comes through the door for help. Thank You for taking such excellent care of our much loved cats - all of them love and trust you all which is a super bonus for them. It makes vet visits a lot less stressful for them and more like a visit with friends.

Exceptionally expensive to the point of feeling ripped off. Our dog was hit by a car, we took him in and were charged in excess of £300 for an X-ray under sedation a bandage and some painkillers. The painkillers were charged out at more than £29 yet I could have bought them from Vetmeds for about £5. They quoted £3000 to pin his leg and discharged him overnight. We thought this was horrendously expensive, especially given the drugs over charge so we looked around. We found another vet in Otley who carried out the procedure in house for £900. Whilst I have no issue with the vet himself, it is the practice charging policy which I found to be a “rip off”

5* world class service! Rod was superb with Pounce (cat) , giving exceptional communication and extremely efficient diagnosis and treatment. everything was explained clearly and accurately with very a reasonable quote for the emergency (including after care and meds) and most importantly the surgery went extremely well with no complications, Rod went above and beyond for us and I couldn't reccomend him highly enough I wouldn't think twice about taking any of my pets here especially in an emergency! Everyone was extremely friendly, polite, calm and helpful thank you all!

  • Freya Keith

Always there to help and reassure! I was worried that my dog had a UTI so went in yesterday and she was seen, given a prescription and she is now on the mend. The vet was absolutely lovely and Lucy on reception was welcoming and sunny as always - my dog loves her! Can't thanks the staff enough for always being understanding and reassuring and looking after my gorgeous girl. They really understand that pets are family. Never had a bad experience and I'm sure we never will. Thanks for always looking after my girl, Ripley is already feeling better!

  • Kate Cottle

I've had dogs my whole life, so used quite a few vets too. We've come to White Cross for over 12 years I think now and I must say I'd never choose to go anywhere else. The whole team are very warm, friendly, easy to talk to whilst remaining reassuringly professional. Our dogs have no problem visiting the vets, in fact Dougie just thinks it's tge best place ever - I don't think he's ever forgotten having fun at the puppy party we brought him to there I think the health care plan is brilliant too. Excellent all round

  • Sophie Last

Our dog, Lincoln, absolutely loves visiting White Cross in Guiseley. He loves all the cuddles, attention and treats that the reception staff give him, especially Lucy (? I think that's her name) on reception. She has always been fantastic with him, from being a tiny puppy. Sometimes its hard to get him to leave he enjoys it that much haha. Unfortunately, he was a frequent visitor as a puppy but the care and service they give is second to none and nothing is never too much trouble. Thank you to all the wonderful staff.

  • Jonny Shaw

I visited this vets for the first time yesterday with an unfortunate emergency with my chinchilla Charlie and dealt with Sarah on the front desk along with Alex the vet. They were both really caring as we went through a very traumatic time with unfortunately having to put Charlie to sleep in the end. If you need a vet who will take in an injured pet with no questions asked, they are very willing to help unlike the 7 or 8 that I called previous. Thank you once again and we will definitely be coming back in the future.

  • Oliver “Olly” Hemingway

Brought my reactive 36kg working line American Bulldog today for his first consultation, due to him having a skin flair up, I was genuinely impressed they knew exactly how to behave with my dog (he loved every second) swiftly identified all of his health issues and prescribed fairly priced medication for him where necessary, friendly, professional and genuine all while adhering to current government guidelines regarding covid. We will be loyal customers from here forth thank you White Cross Vets

  • Emma Finn

White Cross Vets in Guiesley is an amazing and friendly place for animals and their owners. We have several animals under the care of this veterinary, on the wellness plan and not on the wellness plan. But all our animals are cared for just as equally as any other animal that comes through the door. We have had emergency appointments, planned appointments and even the very sad job of saying goodbye to our very beloved old faithful dog Buster. Would highly recommend White Cross Vets.

  • Phillip Turner

Absolutely fabulous service, every time. The team looked after our previous dog for years, right up until it was time for him to go. They now look after our new bundle of energy (9 month old Cockerpoo) who, last week, decided to eat a needle and thread! Tom ended up performing surgery and was fantastic throughout, with Darcey now making excellent progress in recovering. We are always welcomed with a smile and Darcey loves visiting the practice. A very dedicated and caring team

  • Alison Bartle

My beloved cat was taken to them by a neighbour who found him in a bad way. The front desk team and vet were caring and compassionate from the initial call I took from them to the process of putting him to sleep, to additional requests for paw prints to be taken. I was really impressed with the personal caring touch that I moved my dog from another local surgery to here. I've since used their services with the dog and found the advice and care given to be pragmatic.

  • Mark Cheshire

What can I say. What a fabulous vets, I have used several vets since moving to West Yorkshire and these guys are the best by a mile. Reception staff always meet and greet with a lovely smile and that's not only to the owners I actually think my pets enjoy going as well as they get made a fuss of to. All the practice staff are very helpful and polite, I have never had a problem with them and can always get a polite smile even when they are extremely busy.

  • Elaine Wilkinson

The staff at White Cross Guiseley are really friendly, welcoming and professional. I've been going there for more than 17.5 years with my Jack Russell, Wispa, who is still going strong despite her age. I've always been able to get an appointment, and not had to wait too long once there. The premises are also really good. I've visited other vets with other people and their pets, they came nowhere near. Nice, clean, bright and spacious waiting room, too!

  • Moni

All of the staff are very friendly and welcoming. Phil’s care of my dog has been brilliant - We we’re looking at Bailli losing his eye which I didn’t want unless absolutely necessary Phil suggested an intensive treatment plan with 3 lots of drops and within a week there was a massive improvement, over the following weeks we have reduced the frequency and amount of drops. Phil is so pleased we are not back now for 3 months unless things deteriorate

  • Elly Bradley

We had our beautiful dog kiki put to sleep today and could not of wished for more, the vet and nurse that came out to us were both called Phillip and so lovely caring and understanding they truly were the best so thank you both for your kindness and understanding really appreciate the way you dealt with whole situation from start to finish very professional. And a big thank you to the lovely receptionist who dealt with us! Thanks guys.

  • Simon White

Brilliant vets, lovely staff, great customer service We have a wellness plan for our three pets, we pay a very reasonable monthly sum and this includes all worm and flea treatments, unlimited free consultations, yearly health screening and vaccines, discounts off different services such as neutering, discounts off products and foods too. They really looked after one of our puppies that passed too, let the children & us say goodbye.

  • boggle111

After being turned away by a couple other vets nearby, white cross agreed to have a look at our poorly boy Joey and couldn't have been more helpful, vet and receptionists were so friendly and professional and we're so thankful for helping out in our time of need and not charging us through the roof, honestly couldn't fault the services here and wish we lived nearer so they could be our full time vet. Thank you again!

  • Lindsay Cockshott

I have always gone to white cross vets as did my mother with all our pets. They are always really helpful and attentive. My cat is now 19 and they love him as if he’s their own .. he had to stay there overnight for an operation last year and they said how lovely he was always meowing when they passed him as he wanted a fuss and tickle .. they are wonderful vets and I cannot recommend them highly enough

  • Hannah Kirton

Lovely and amazing staff! Tom usually looks after my little (now 4 month) Pomeranian and is so gentle and calming with her. Katrina, Lorena and all the other girls are super amazing with Dolly too and greet her everytime she arrives to ensure she is calm and happy. They provide pet treats at reception and the reception area is always lovely and clean. Thank you White Cross Veterinary! Love you all xxx

  • Ally

This is the most wonderful vets practice. We have 2 cats and a dog who have all been treated here, for routine visits and once or twice in an emergency. They have never let us down, always show great patience, compassion, kindness, understanding and care. I have tried other vets in the past but since moving our floofers to White Cross Guiseley, I wouldn't trust anyone else more than these folks.

  • Lucy Thompson

My dog tommy went in today to get some lumps and bumps removed , they made me feel very relaxed with a phone call before and after the operation by the vet, and was very thorough knowing exactly how much I would have to pay at the end , he also got sent home without a cone of shame but a fantastic comfortable compression jacket and pain relief, definitely would recommend 5 stars PLUS

  • Lara Dawes

Absolutely wonderful practice. The staff are always so helpful and genuinely happy to see our dog. Even if we just pop in for his food without him they ask about him. All treatments have been dealt with in a professional way. As a first time dog owner we have never been made to feel like any question is too silly. Definitely would recommend these guys.

  • Erena Alicia

The staff and the service at the White Cross Vets in Guiseley are absolutely faultless. The service and care is outstanding and will bend over backwards to help. Kath the receptionist is so welcoming and always has a smile for you. The nurse 's and vets are all so lovely and my animals are always given the best care. Wouldn't use any other practice!!

  • Kathryn Busfield

Great service when recommended to contact white cross vets Guiseley. After been put in a difficult situation with current vets and insurance, white cross were really quick to help out and respond. They really care about your pet and you as an owner. They were as life saver in a difficult situation. Both receptionists and vets helped out greatly.

  • Con

Whitecross Vets are an excellent organisation. The vets, vet nurses and reception staff are professional, friendly, helpful and most importantly, have been brilliant with both of my dogs when they have had health problems. I have used surgeries in Roundhay before moving to Guiseley, both have high standards and equally good. Highly recommended.

  • Katrina Robinson

More than just a vet practice, the staff make you feel like part of the family, so warm and care so much. Never feel overwhelmed by the medical terms they use as they explain everything so well and don't seem to mind when I can't make an appointment because my cats have legged it upon sight of the cat carrier! Deserve a big 5star from us xx

  • Anne-Marie Rhodes

The staff at White Cross vets are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. They cared for my rabbit as if she were their own and answered any questions I had about the procedure. They even gave her a get well soon card which I thought was a really nice thought. Thank you to everyone that looked after Ozzie. Great vets. Definitely recommend

  • Janette Jones

As always, the team at White Cross Vets, from the friendly, caring receptionists right through to the vets are excellent. The vets always explain in detail what treatment options are available for your pet, & try their best to reasure you, in what is sometimes a very distressing & worrying time. I can't praise them highly enough.

  • Catherine Timmins

First class service. I’m looking after my daughters dog whilst she’s working in Australia for 6 months. Lenny got a puncture wound and swollen leg and they registered me at the practice and saw him within the hour. A gold standard reception service and professional consultation with full explanation. Highly recommended.

  • Ashleigh Benson

We have seen several vets at WC as we have 5 dogs. I have never had a consultation where all my questions weren't answered and I felt confident in the plan for them. Rod in particular has cared for many of my dogs over the years and always takes great care to discuss all the treatment options available

  • Sandy Bates

Fantastic local vets. Always accommodating, friendly and welcoming and everyone does a great job. • Jane Longstaffe

Thank you so much Natasha and Tom! We thought our 16 year old cat Madee was dying. Process of elimination and a caring attitude got Madee back on her feet again. Still not sure what was wrong with her (would be so much easier if animals could talk to us) But you did it! Madee says thank you too!

  • Simon Trutwein

  • Richard Pickett

It's great when we do have to take our pets to get sorted, because the service is great. From the moment the reception staff greet us, it feels very personal. The Vets offer complete advise and are always friendly, but professional. Would we recommend it - I think you know the answer to that.

  • Jane Guillard

  • matthew fulton

Owned by a corporate more interested in profit than customer / patient care cashing in on minimal customer inertia in a post COVID inflationary environment. Don't get sucked in by these morally bereft rip off artists and don't believe them

  • Geraldine Shaw

Excellent practice. My old cat often needed urgent appointments and she was always seen very quickly, very kind when her time came to leave us. All very friendly and caring. Happy to take my new boy and our remaining elderly girl there now.

Great team who have always looked after our dog brilliantly. Would highly recommend the care plan, well worth the money for the piece of mind to be able to take her in for checks, and it covers some essential meds.

  • Natalie Fulton

Staff are always so welcoming and friendly. They put our minds at rest and provide the best care for our dog. We trust the practice 100% and would have no hesitation in recommending them to our friends and family.

Like most vets owned by big companies and hedge funds they rip you off for medicines. I was charged over £43 for non prescription eye drops, not animal specific that are available from a pharmacy for less than £7.
