I waited six months to write this review until I saw another dentist and could confirm my suspicions. Despite having a rather weird oral health history, my biannual appointment is normally pretty uneventful. The takeaway is almost always that my teeth are looking good but I could floss a bit more. When I went to WPDG six months ago I was told (not kindly) that my teeth were in such a state that I’d have to go back every 4 months for the foreseeable future for cleanings and get 4 of my fillings replaced ASAP or they could crack or fall out at any time (much of the work they said I needed was not covered by insurance). I was shown pictures of my teeth and gums that they took to further demonstrate the urgency with which I needed to address these issues. Despite that, I didn’t end up going through with the work because I just had a weird, bad feeling about the whole thing. Instead, I decided to wait six months until I was eligible for my next cleaning so that I could see a different dentist for a second opinion. Lo and behold, when I went for my cleaning today with my new dentist and casually asked how my fillings were looking, I was told they were in excellent condition and that the dentist who did them did a really great job. I was also told my teeth were looking good besides that, as well, no issues. I tell every dentist I’ve ever been to how uncomfortable and nervous I am at the dentist due to the extensive dental work I’ve had done over the years, so it is extremely upsetting to me that a dental professional I was supposed to be able to trust to look out for my best interests was so willing to deceive me and totally happy to put me through the significant stress and anxiety of multiple unnecessary dental procedures to make extra money off of me. I’m so thankful I didn’t get the work done and found another dentist that didn’t try to rip me off. TL;DR: WPDG deliberately tried to mislead me about my oral health and have me get dental work done that I didn’t need that would have cost me hundreds out of pocket. I cannot emphasize strongly enough how much I DO NOT recommend this practice.

"Wicker Park Dental Group" absolutely has the best dental care professionals I've ever encountered. My husband recommended them to me and I'm so glad he did. First off the doctors office is very clean, open and welcoming. Every receptionist I've talk to over the phone and have met, are super friendly. They talk to you nicely and makes sure everything is clear and understandable. You won't feel like you're left in a gray area about appointments or billing at all. The dental assistants are the sweetest, they make sure your comfortable and talk to you about any concerns you have while preparing you for your visit with the dentist. The Dentists are great, friendly, professional and most of all... they are "painless". The rooms are clean and sterile. The equipment is the most updated in dental technology. They take exams, talk over the best care plan for you. Make sure you are comfortable with everything during consultation. Then they send in a receptionist to discuss a financial care plan. Explaining what your insurance covers and your out of pocket coats. And if you don't have insurance, they will work with you on a membership that will helps cut the regular cost of your dental care needs. ((I've saw the same receptionist every time I've gone and she is the best at explaining everything you need to know, she's very patient and kind)). After that the dentist Execute the problem with calm and ease. Overall I always have a good experience here. The online site is easy to understand and maneuver through. Helpful texts to remind you of upcoming appointment and dental care needs. And it's always easy to make an appointment online and calling the office. Even if they're booked solid, they will work with you and get you in as soon as possible. Call you if there are any cancellation. I always leave here feeling happy and satisfied. I'm very pleased to say this place is my new dental home...

I know everybody says "I don't usually write reviews", but I don't. However, I felt it was necessary after the experience I had today. Before the appt, I got a text from them along the lines of "your insurance is out of network, but the cleaning today is estimated to be 100% covered". I had got the feeling I would be on the hook for something after that, but I decided to go because it had been awhile since my last teeth cleaned. Essentially, I was taken back into a room shortly after my appointment time, had someone take pictures of every tooth and do x-rays for 45 minutes (she was lovely), the doctor came in and discussed the photos, he left (also a nice guy), and then someone entirely new came in. That person took 15-20ish minutes to explain what the doctor had recommended and presented me with a $3K bill to clean my teeth. When I told her I was told I was "estimated" to be covered for a cleaning, she told me she was sorry for the miscommunication. I should've been more concerned when I walked in initially to see the doctor and another staff member combing through negative Google reviews. In the interest of not allowing them to waste any more of my time, that's all I have to say to hopefully help someone else avoid this pointless headache.

I highly recommend Wicker Park Dental Group! I have always been very afraid of going to the dentist. Never had the best experiences with them, until I was advised to go see Dr. Raj! When I first arrived, Linda greeted me and told me what to expect in the exam room. I was then on my way to the exam room by Mari, who explained to me what they would be doing and to just relax and that if ANYTHING felt uncomfortable to please let her know right away. When Dr. Raj came in, he explained to me once again what they would be doing. Everyone made sure to make me feel safe and comfortable. Everything was done so quickly, which was awesome! I was in and out within the hour! After my procedure was done, Linda came back to the exam room to explain my insurance policy and what the cost would be with my deductible and out of pocket, which I greatly appreciated. I have always had a bad experience with previous dental offices that would lie, and deceive and just end up trying to charge me for items that never even occurred. Overall, I highly recommend this dental group along with all the employees! Thank you so much once again! I am no longer afraid of dentists!

I have really great teeth and came from a really great dentist. They don’t do the tartar scraping or the professional flossing here. I feel like after two visits of cleanings in the last year, my teeth feel….grimy. I won’t be coming back and need to look for a new dentist. I didn’t realize how important those two things were in a regular cleaning until I’ve been 1 year out. I had a dental appt with a dentist to consult over Lumineers and he pointed out that I had plaque build up and my teeth were not getting cleaned very well. I noticed too, the oral hygienists in there are always new or different so that tells me high turnover rate, which rubs me wrong. They don’t have consistent pricing for fluoride either. First time I paid $50. Second time I paid $33. Edit: I have confirmed they do a bad job cleaning. Went to a new dentist that has been doing teeth for 40+ years. Family practice. They told me they found plaque inbetween my teeth older than 6 months old meaning this dentist did a poor job scraping my teeth/didn’t even check in between the teeth. This dental group is performing poor cleanings in hopes you get cavities. Don’t go here.

I endured the most excruciatingly painful dental procedure in my entire life--a root canal by Dr Gopisetty-- some time ago. Afterwards, I was bilked out of $5,000 for an ill-constructed bridge that failed repeatedly. The bridge was sent back to the lab repeatedly --after coming loose. When I asked what would be done other than sending the obviously troublesome bridge back repeatedly I was told they would work with me. They did not. Without notice, Gopisetty switched me to another person-- a doctor I presume--who NEVER even had the courtesy to introduce himself. Dr Raj? They made zero effort to fix the problem. Then quarantine came and I still went for a cleaning despite the unresolved issue. The last straw was when even the cleaning was terrible. Usually my teeth feel really smooth when I get a cleaning. The new hygienist barely touched the electrical tooth polisher to my mouth. The cleaning was even a failure. Before that cleaning I even got a thrash-like mouth infection after being seen. They don't value customers who patronize them and they're not professional in resolving issues. Go elsewhere.

I went into Wicker Park Dental to get a root canal on a tooth that has been causing me extreme pain for the last couple months and I have to say that that this Dental group was the fourth one I've been to in regard to the pain I've been dealing with. And with the inconsistent information on what was wrong with the tooth from previous groups had me nervous at first but they were very kind, understanding and listened to my concerns about having sensitive teeth. I was quite surprised on how fast they wanted to start working on the tooth where other groups didn't, it would be a lie if I said I wasn't nervous/scared during the root canal but between Mari, Darnell and Dr. Gopisetty and watching them work and seeing the care, effort and dedication put me at ease and I knew I was in good hands. Linda and Jackie as well were also super helpful and informative with all my questions. This is a great team of people and I look forward to coming here for any dental work I will need in the future

Let my start by saying I despise the dentist and have been avoiding it for over 4 years. I'm 43 and knew it was time and a co-worker of mine referred me there saying that the staff was wonderful and kind. Totally true. From the minute I walked in today, they were nothing but sweet and understanding of my fear of dentists. Because I waited 4 years... I needed quiet a bit done.. but even so, they came up with a broken-up plan and even broken-up payment plan (my dental insurance covered a majority of it). Everything was explained to me IN DETAIL, which I very much appreciated. I had one quadrant done today by Dr.Raj and he couldn't have been sweeter and more gentle. Even stopping a few times when he knew I was having anxiety and giving me time to calm down. I love that they have tv’s on the ceilings as well as the walls to totally distract you. Everyone there was the real deal, very smart, very sweet and very honest I highly recommend Dr. Raj and Wicker Park Dental.

The first time I went to this dentist they made me get an immediate root canal even if though I was in no pain, and since I didn’t have dental insurance at the time they recommended I get a year long membership with two free cleanings. Well, when I tried to get my free cleaning, they told me that my teeth were in such terrible shape that I couldn’t get a free cleaning, I had to get a deep clean that was not covered by my membership. When I explained that I paid over $3000 for the membership and I didn’t want to pay extra, they refused to clean my teeth. I just went to a different dentist who said I don’t need a deep cleaning and that my teeth are in good shape, and gave me a regular cleaning. Be cautious with this place.

I love this place. All members of the team are always friendly and comforting, the dentists and hygienist are so good at their craft and have such a good touch; you can really tell they know what they are doing. I enjoy going to the dentist and look forward to my checkups! I hadn’t been to a checkup in over 2 years due to a change in my insurances and I refused to go to any other dentist!! When I found out they had an affordable membership that where their services they provide are worth more than that they are charging/ they give a lot of value.. I was all in!! To my my surprise my teeth were in the same condition as when I left 2 years ago due to following their tips on what to do to keep and maintain my teeth.

Tip: Triple-check your insurance benefits since apparently they don't bother to check if the benefit has been previously used/not available until a certain date. — Edit to address the response: Yes, I’ve checked my insurance benefits which has remained the same for a few years and never had an issue with new dentist offices. Whatever X-rays I got was not differentiated to me before or during the appointment when someone literally came into the room with a clipboard with all the expected charges. There was no explanation to the charges when I was emailed the surprise invoice. I had to call in twice to get an explanation. So, no I won’t be calling in a third time.

Cannot recommend Wicker Park Dental enough. I would never go to any other dental practice in Chicago. Dr. Raj is extremely empathetic and sensitive to any pain you might experience. I was extremely nervous so he prescribed me a relaxant before my visit. There are also TVs on the ceilings so you can watch Netflix during the procedure. Scheduling is easy and the front desk makes cost breakdown and financial planning easy. I didn’t see a dentist for 7 years and then saw Dr. Raj. He didn’t make me feel guilty at all and was super understanding. I grind my teeth so had to get crowns put in as well as deep cleaning. Don’t hesitate — just book.

The reviews are true, this practice is wonderful! From the steller front office staff, to the friendly dental assistants to the dentists themselves..everyone is top notch. They saw my boyfriend the same day I found them online and they pulled two wisdom teeth that started causing him severe pain that morning. Two teeth out in 20-30min is simply amazing. Outstanding service all around, full transparency on pricing, office hours that make them accessible to everyone and walking away feeling well taken care of..that is impressive! Go here for your regular care and for emergencies, you couldn't be in better hands.

I needed last minute dental care for a broken molar. From start to finish my service was pleasant, patient, accomodating, quick to schedule both first visit and followup for root canal and subsequent crown. Pricing was reasonable explained with options. The location is easy to get too. Best the doctors are thorough and take time to check your condition and perform the drilling with the least amount of pain. I enjoyed my root canal if that makes any sense. I'm definitely going to be a regular to look after my dental health. Kudos to the all the staff for making my experience smooth and without issues.

I initially reached out to Wicker Park Dental Group to request a same day appointment for my mother who was in extreme pain. Very friendly and competent staff. Had a tooth extracted and Dr Gopisetty and Darnell made a potentially very stressful experience go as smoothly as possible. They were great at explaining the treatment plan ahead of time and keeping me updated with what was happening during the procedure which was a relief since I had previously had some painful and chaotic experiences at another dentist. They heard about my concerns and were respectful and sensitive. Not planning on having more teeth extracted but I wouldn’t hesitate to go back to Wicker Park Dental Group if I did.

My wisdom teeth extraction was the easiest dentist appointment I've ever had. It took less than 30 minutes and I felt no severe pain. They give positive reinforcement and are so kind every step of the way. Mari is one of my new favorite people, and Jasmine and Linda are the best patient coordinators I've ever seen. I would recommend this office to absolutely anyone, especially anyone with anxiety about dentists. I was having so much daily pain from the fear of the pain, but they've made it one of the easiest processes in the world.

The staff and dentist himself were all amazing. Highly recommend utilizing this office if you’re looking for excellent care and patience if you’re terrified of the dentist like I am. I unfortunately could not move forward with the recommended dental plan due to my insurance not being accepted and I just could not pull off the full out of pocket costs. I had extremely bad tooth pain and needed a root canal. All the places my dentist recommended didn’t have an appointment for weeks with the holidays coming. I called wicker park dental group and they were able to see me later that day and take care of my pain. I cannot recommend this place enough. They were so amazing with my one year old at her first dental appointment. I was impressed with this office’s operations and ease of scheduling an appointment! The dental hygienist/assistant I saw was friendly and professional. Unfortunately, the first routine cleaning I had from the dentist was more painful than any I’d had before (for reference, my teeth are healthy and I haven’t had significant work apart from braces). I’ll go back to the office but will look to see a different dentist next time.

I love this place!! I have gone here for my wisdom tooth extraction, crowns and regular cleanings. They’re always so kind and patient. I don’t like doctors or dentists and they really take that into account. They are transparent with what they’re doing. They have TVs for you to watch during your appointment as well. I love every staff member I’ve interacted with and the environment in general is just incredibly relaxing.

Wicker Park Dental is the absolute best. Had an emergency and had to have 3 teeth removed. They got me in at 8 AM and all was done by 930 AM. They made sure I was comfortable, not nervous about the procedure & answered all my questions, explain all of the cost. Each step of the process was simple & concise. You will be so happy you chose this place. What could have been a scary procedure was a huge relief in the end.

My first two visits were fine, but when I tried to reschedule my 3rd appointment, 2 days in advance, they said that they would charge me the out of pocket copay as a penalty, due to the length of the appointment being 2 hours. Initially, the appointment was only supposed to be 1 hour. But now that I needed to reschedule, it was all of a sudden 2 hours, and that's why they wanted to charge me. This doesn't seem right.

Amazing experience - I have gotten all my cleanings, a crown, and multiple fillings fixed here - Dr Raj is phenomenal and is very gentle, patient, and consistently checks in to make sure you’re feeling alright through the process and that you understand every treatment. The price point is also fair and they are flexible in working with you for your treatment plan. I highly recommend this dental office!

I went to my former dentist, with pain, I was told there wasn’t anything wrong, however after having persistent pain, I came upon Wicker Park Dental, as soon as the cray was done, I was told my tooth was cracked, I had to have a root canal, and other work done. I didn’t have any pain before or after the procedure, everything went really smooth, even with my fear of dental visits.

Incredibly friendly and accommodating. Each staff member and the DDS made me feel comfortable and at ease, going to great lengths to ease my anxiety about dental work. The doctor is very thoughtful and kind. I received a very clear and concise explanation of care plan and costs by the staff. Would recommend to anyone, especially others who have anxiety about the dentist!

Dr G. was able to get me in next-day to give me much needed relief from tooth pain that needed a root canal. Everyone in the office is friendly and welcoming, and the TVs both on the wall and the ceiling are a nice touch to keep you relaxed during the procedure. They were able to get my new crowns in early and left me with a brand new smile. Overall a great experience.

The staff are really friendly and professional and the office is immaculate. I needed some dental work done and they walked me through everything explaining it in detail. Each room has two TVs, one on the ceiling so you can watch Netflix or whatever when the dentist is working on you. They just make going to the dentist a great experience. Highly recommended.

I was very impressed with Dr. Gopisetty, and the receptionist who really explained what my options were and what my insurance covered. My procedure went really smoothly. I was in town for business when my crown of twenty plus years fell off. Dr. Raj and his crew got me in immediately for a root canal and replaced the crown. I was hundreds of miles from home, terrified, in pain, and they were a lifesaver. I cannot overemphasize how well they took care of me. I would give them ten stars if I could.

I like the fact that they presented treatment options with no pressure and then went with the one I chose. This was a very comfortable experience. Overall the service was great. I had my 4 wisdom teeth extracted on the same day and although it was a difficult process to remove 2 of them that didn’t want to come out, they got the job done. Great home care instructions and got a follow up appointment!!
