If you are fortunate to be in Willunga when the courthouse museum is open, you are in for a treat. For starters, put your child in the prisoner box and hold a mock court session to see if they are 'guilty' or 'innocent'! Take them into the prisoners courtyard and lock them in a cell! The volunteers at the museum are so knowledgeable and if you have time to visit and chat, you will discover so much about this old township (one of the oldest in SA!). Researchers will love the books and references, including a display about the Star of Greece (shipwreck). The piece de resistance is the Slate Museum... which gives a really thorough explanation of slate as a building material in the early SA colony and the range of uses for this type of stone. The museum grounds are also delightful for weddings, or a picnic... or just stroll on down to one of the great cafes or pubs. Hang about... you can even join the volunteers for a cuppa, and stay in Willunga forever!!!!

A piece history well taken care of. The volunteers (both past and present) have taken care of these buildings, which consist of courthouse and cells, Stables & police station very well considering their vintage. Lots of photographs, items from that period and records. The volunteers are cheerful and knowledgeable. Recommendations: it is very well worth the drive there and relive the history. Rating: 9/10

Friendly staff and 2 interesting displays (courthouse n slate museum). Lovely setting. There is no entry charge so the National Trust need to amend their web page pronto, cos it currently gives 2 admission prices. Given human nature, I'm sure visitor numbers would increase if the free entry was properly communicated.

My wife and I got married here over the weekend, nothing was ever too difficult for Judith and her team. They bent over backwards to make sure our day was as special as it could be and we had an incredible ceremony on the lawns of the historic courthouse. We would highly recommend this place if you are considering it for a wedding. We would like to give a massive thanks once again to Judith.

We love the park around the courthouse, which is perfect for a picnic. The large white gum trees provide perfect shade over the cemented table and bench seats. Thank you
