"Ordered laksa with chicken and seasonal vegetables"
"We have ordered takeaway twice now from Wok Passion"
"Ordered 1 Honey Chicken with Rice and 1 Ribs with rice"
"I’m not sure what happened considering the reviews seem good but I just spent almost $90 for bland food"
"Chanced upon Wok passion while passing by Lane Cove"
Ordered laksa with chicken and seasonal vegetables. Told it was very mild. Took about 25 minutes. I took it home and discovered the laksa was mainly noodles with big chunks of chicken, spicy (that’s forgivable as it is subjective), a few bean shoots and not one vegetable. I rang to let the restaurant know, thinking it would be good for them to get the feedback directly. They tried to justify it by saying that “seasonable vegetables” meant bean shoots, however this cannot be the case as there is a menu item specifying bean shoots and another specifying seasonal vegetables and I ordered the latter, which costs more! Secondly, there were so few bean shoots anyway that I had to search the bowl for them. I was hoping the staff would understand but they didn’t really listen and only offered for us to come back and get some bean shoots! I suggested they change their menu as it is misleading and she said that yes they should. I don’t like to leave bad feedback but this was a particularly poor experience.
We have ordered takeaway twice now from Wok Passion. The first time the food was ok, with the exception of the sweet and sour pork which was badly over cooked. We thought we would give it another try…BAD decision! This tim, not only was the meat badly overcooked again but one of the dishes we ordered was a beef noodle dish and we paid $4 extra on top of the price for added vegetables, only to find that there was not a veggie anywhere in sight!!!!! just a greasy oily tasteless mess of a dish. Safe to say we will not be returning. Not sure if the positive reviews are being posted by friends and family but certainly not reflective of our experience

Ordered 1 Honey Chicken with Rice and 1 Ribs with rice. We were given what looked like Sweet & Sour Pork with Rice and some chicken bits with rice. The rice was plain and dry, and majority of the meat in the Sweet & Sour Pork was made of bone so I got about 1/4 of the meat I thought I was getting. They got the San Choy Bow correct however the lettuce came in a plain old plastic bag...pretty gross. They threw in a big bag of Wontons that we didn't order, I think this is there way of compensating for screwing up the order but that would mean that they knew the order was wrong to start with. Overall I rate the experience bad and the food mediocre. I would rather have spent my money somewhere else if I knew the experience would be this disappointing.
I’m not sure what happened considering the reviews seem good but I just spent almost $90 for bland food. The garlic prawns were small to medium sized, not king prawns and didn’t seem very fresh or were possibly over cooked. The beef & broccoli with oyster sauce was extremely bland, needed salt and the beef was very very dry. It’s the FIRST time I’ve ever had dry and somewhat chewy beef when ordering Chinese food. The fried rice was also quite bland and the fried wontons had a bit of a weird taste. Really disappointed considering I just spent $90 and waited more than 30mins for the food..
Chanced upon Wok passion while passing by Lane Cove. Decided to try their food as the food looked so tempting and most importantly it reminded me of home. Being a Hainanese, I decided to try the Hainanese Chicken Laksa. Chicken was tender, laksa tasted more like curry to me as it lacked the umami flavour of dried prawn which is the soul of a good bowl of laksa. The taupok (beancurd puff) was a bit hard as it wasnt cook long enough in the gravy. Overall, it was a decent bowl of curry noodles when hungry. Price was reasonable.

Just ordered the lunch special - curry chicken + rice. The boneless curry chicken tastes great and the gravy is flavoursome. Love the tastes! The rice portion is just nice - not too much or too little and the curry sauce and well cooked chicken goes well together. (One thing to take note especially with this kind of meal is that freshly cooked curry sauce with chicken and the fragrant rice is best eaten when it’s still piping hot). The customer service is a little bit off. Hopefully it can be improved. Other than that, satisfied with my simple and easy lunch so far.
I ordered a noodle dish that said 'king prawns' on the menu. This is what I got (see photo). The noodles weren't great but I was extremely disappointed at the prawns! When I went to pay, I asked the waitress about the dish having king prawns, and without even looking at my plate or asking anything, she said "did you get the small ones?" like she knew already. She reduced the price from $14.90 to $12.90. Only $2 for NO king prawns?? I'm sure if I ordered the king prawns as an addition they would be at least $5 extra. No apology from her. I WONT BE BACK
We ordered takeaway to pick up on a busy COVID lockdown Friday night. The restaurant was flat out with an hour wait. Hats off to the team for doing such a great job juggling phone orders, walk-ins, online orders, deliveroo etc The quality of food and size of servings is absolutely worth the wait - the food is amazing! We ordered veggie spring rolls, wonton soup, honey prawns and Singapore fried noodles. Delicious. Great to see these guys so busy during lockdown - they’re busy for a reason. It’s our new fave restaurant in Lane Cove :)
I wouldn’t recommend this place. My husband suffered from food poisoning after a visit to this restaurant. Both dishes that we have ordered (Szechuan chicken and Beef in oyster sause) felt like both chicken and beef meats were long overdue and kept in some kind of sause to make it work and serve to the customer. I didn’t even finish my dish as it felt too suspicious and definitely not fresh. My husband did finish his dish and had a sleepless night vomiting. We have visited Wok Passion on January 5, 2018 for late dinner.
Delicious Malay Chinese restaurant, fragrant and flavourful laksa (ordered the chicken one), chow kuey teow was also great, well balanced flavours and plenty of wok-hey. Waitress was attentive; prices reasonable. Would come back to try other dishes particular hainanese chicken

Love this place - under new management, with a new Malaysian chef from a renowned restaurant back in Malaysia. Food is now Malaysian-Chinese ie. the type of banquet-style Chinese food you would find in Malaysia, but they've also added other Malaysian street food dishes - like laksa and satay etc. Last I checked Google Maps shows it's "permanently closed" and has the url of the previous ownership listed, but hopefully that will be corrected now I've put in a request for an edit.
We were just in the area to visit the newly opened Harris Farm, so we didn’t have high expectation for lunch. But the food here was sooo good! We had the super delish hainanese chicken rice (must try!) and wonton laksa, cost us only around $12-14 per plate for generous serving and taste it was totally worth it. I would say this is the highlight of our day trip to Lane Cove haha

Ordered online and got a promo for a free roti if ordering $50 or more. When I got there to pick up the food they said they don’t do that. Ordered a dish that was good with roti. Bad business practice to not honour your promises and blame someone else. After eating, the food was below average. Very oily beef rendang and watered down sauces.

Arrange of meatfree options but like most places cooking this kind of food, vegans may find options a little trickier to navigate.
Decent food but a word of warning for those arranging takeaway/pick-up. Call the restaurant direct as the online ordering tool adds between $2-$3 per dish onto your order plus an additional admin fee; so approx $10 on what should have been a $60 order ! Most Asian restaurants I have used previously give a 10% discount for pick-up but not here !

Recently visited and found food taste was not up to the mark and was below average...service was good but we were bit disappointed with the taste..i think issue was spices and ingredients were not blended and cooked properly and it was not giving its authentication taste as a whole the way it supposed to be...i have had authentic asian food before in sydney and in Melbourne..this was not as good as those .
mix feeling about this place the foods range from good to yuck edit 26/11/2017: the owner reached out and offer apologies for my bad experience with *some* of the foods (as I quite enjoyed some other). he also offered a dinner to made it up (unfortunately I have to decline as I don't live nearby anymore). 3 stars is already a good thing for me, but I'm adding 1 star for the exceptional customer care.
Divina and other staffs are so friendly!!!! We're always curious about their food so we decided to try whats their recommendation for us, chicken in ginger and shallots, dumpling soup, barramundi steam! Everything for me is perfect! Not too pricey and food is really really good!

Came across this wonderful Malaysian Restaurant while walking on the street. Didn't have high expectation initially but was surprised how good the foods were. I ordered Lemon chicken which is my favourite and it was the best Lemon Chicken I've ever had. The price is surprisingly cheap as well.

Ordered beef rendang for delivery last night and at $20+ I would have expected a nice slow cooked piece or pieces of beef in a nice savory sauce. What i got was 70% of fat, barely any meat - just big lumps of fat, totally disgusting. See pic. I can safely say that I will never be getting that again or maybe anything else from there.
Been here many times and every dish we tried never dissapoints! Tasty authentic meals with generous portion, always satisfy hungry tummies. To top it off, the staff are always very friendly and accommodating. Can't recommend this place enough for your next family dinners, lunches, or even takeaways!
Twice we have been here, and waited almost an hour for our food. So we thought we could do one better, by PRE ORDERING OUR FOOD VIA MENULOG for pick up. Nope, same deal. I guess it's what you call #malaysiantiming. It's probably (no, definitely) faster and cheaper to fly to Malaysia to get our food than waiting at Wok Passion.
The food here used to be brilliant but we made the mistake of going back after a year or so of being away. The restaurant has changed hands and the food is terrible. They don't advertise the fact it's under new management but I asked and they said they took over from December 2012. Do yourself a favour and give it a miss!!
Food Is Amazing, the Beef Rendang and Chicken is An amazing choice in food, and also the Dim Sims Spring Rolls are So delicious.

Terrible. I would post minus ten stars if possible. Waited almost an hour kids were screaming and hungry and they forgot our order and bumped us to the back! Totally overrun with take away taking priority over paying customers. Terrible service and horrible experience. Don’t go here.

Had the char kuey teow and nasi lemak with beef rendang... very good flavour and 90% authentic. Rendang sauce was thick, rich and full of flavour just like it should be. Great service and price. One of the best malay restaurants I've tried.... rivals Albee's and Ipoh for sure.
Delicious dishes made fresh and tasty and good suggestions like the butter fried chicken special which was a first for us. Disappointed to realise after we left that we had been charged for tea we never received, but otherwise the service was very friendly and helpful.
Probably the worst Chinese food I have ever had, the chicken looked like deep fried garbage, the special fried rice well the only thing special about it was throwing it in the bin. And the sweet and sour pork was well over cooked. I suggest bypassing this restruant
Delicious Malay/Chinese inspired dishes. We have been here on several occasions and found the food and service to be of good quality and consistent. Favourites like Laksa, Mee Goreng and Hainan Chicken are on the menu. Great value for money. I highly recommend it.
The name of the restaurant does not convey that it’s specialties are Malaysian food. If you can take the heat, ask for it to be spicier as it’s dialled down to suit Aussie taste buds. Otherwise, it’s worth trying if you are looking for basic Malaysian cuisine.
Fantastic Malaysian food at reasonable prices. Lunchtime specials $10. Observe Covid 19 distance rules. Fast fresh home delivery. Lovely efficient service staff with excellent English. The only laksa and Chau Kwai Teoy and other authentic dishes in Lane Cove.
One of our favourite local restaurants in Lane Cove since we first arrived in 2015. 7 years later, with 2 kiddos, and 4 years after we moved to a different suburb, we went back for my birthday dinner and their food and services are still amazing! …
Just had a nice dinner at Wok Passion. We ordered the fish curry, beef rendang and belachan long beans. The taste is close enough to traditional Malaysian curries and very satisfying. The $10 lunches are good value and the chicken curry goes down a treat.
The Honey and Lemon chicken are crispy, tasty and is a great portion size. Much better than typical Chinese restaurants that are more fried batter than actual chicken. Tom Yum Fried rice is also delicious. Friendly service to make it a great experience.
My wife and I visited for a early Friday night casual dinner after work. Very friendly and helpful staff. Great menu choices. A feature was the excellent use of spices to create wonderful warmth in their dishes without the extreme heat of chilli's.
Even during lockdown they continue to impress, given its take away only. Food was cooked quicker than expected for a Saturday night. Was fresh and absolutely delicious. Best noodles in Lane Cove I have to say. Will always go back. Well done …
Disappointed with the crispy skin chicken with ginger and shallots (was dry and tasteless) and the sweet & sour pork (dry and hard). Even rice dry. Eaten well here before so maybe it was an off day.

Came here with the 10$ lunch deal and was not disappointed! Got Hainan chicken laksa. Coming back next time for lemon chicken rice. Not many people when I came here at 1:30 on the weekday. Friendly staff. Extra 0.5$ for cards below $20 spending.
I have tried this place mutiple times and it is so amazing!! The salt and pepper pork ribs blowed my mind away!! Service here is amazing!!!!! Best place I have eaten before!!! I really enjoyed my experiance here and I hope to come back!!! …

As soon as we entered the restaurant, we were immediately greeted with smiles and a kind, friendly attitude. We came late at night so there weren't much people but the restaurant had a nice quiet vibe. Overall a great place to eat!

I left Malaysia to Sydney three years ago. I miss all of the tasty Malaysian foods. It’s such a relieve to find this restaurant in Lane Cove. Tasty food combined with warm ambience is what I love about Wok Passion.
I had the same poor rendang as the commentator below. I wish I had read the reviews first, so sad. Disgustingly just fat, I had the lunch special for $10 and binned most of it. Really sad as the staff seemed lovely
Been here 10+ times now. As someone who used to be in Indonesia, Singapore and Malaysia, I love it. Got a variety of dishes that are just great! I find the table set up a bit strange, but otherwise it's great.
The food is amazing and the food, too. Super healthy. I love the vegetables wok with rice + chicken or beef or pawns. Also the honey chicken is really good. The photo is for vegies wok with rice and prawns.
Highly recommended restaurant in Lanecove. Good services, yummy food and friendly staff :-) Cozy place. Love the ambience. Reasonable price for quality and yummy meals . Fully reccomended it ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
Friendly and welcoming environment, ideal for family dinners or small gatherings. The range of food will cater for all tastes and even chili tolerance ranges. Highly recommend for all to enjoy !!
Great service, delivered quickly and the food was absolutely beautiful. Everyone LOVED lunch and I’ll definitely be ordering from here again. Thank you so much for such a great experience!!! Xxx

There are good restaurant at Lane cove!! This shop is Malaysian & Indonesian food!!! Taste is be simple and delicious for me!!! Tea service is serviced for customers free!! I love it's smell!!
Great food as always but service wasn't as goods as usual. But looked like they were over run with take away and home delivery orders. Try the salt and pepper calamari - it's their best dish.
Perfect for a cheerful meal , you will always leave feeling happy. It does get busy during peak times, and the staff work really hard. Prices are spot on. You won’t be disappointed
Regular customer. New people, ordered chicken curry rice and they delivered it with a half spoon of gravy 2 chicken pices and a potatoe piece in it. What the hell. Not going again
We did take away and the service to take my order was amazing. Really friendly and helpful to dishes which are popular. The food was tasty and enjoyable. Definitely recommend!!
Rice noodle was very nice, sweet and sour pork was tasty, exactly what I was craving for. Salt and pepper squid was good, although it was a bit too salty and not enough pepper.

This is my second time here. So it is my honest review for Wok Passion : Quick service, cheap price & delicious food. U will never regret! Trust me. Very recommended resto.
Been here a few times over the last year or two & the food is always good & the staff have always been friendly. I would recommend them to anyone & we will come back again
Staff was attentive and provided great customer service. Food was full of flavour and delicious - great value for money. Would recommend if you're stopping by Lane Cove.
Customer service was good at the beginning but turned poor after we ordered. Probably we didn't order the quantity as she expected. Curry was a bit diluted. Small serve.
Cheap and good Malaysian and Asian food is served at this store. Service is average and eating atmosphere is also average. More of a take away shop than an eat-in shop.
So... my wife and I went last night. She got a really good S&S pork, and my hokkien noodles were legitimately the best that I've had (and I eat too much food!!).
Great food, friendly service. A must visit Malaysian cuisine restaurant, as I have been longing for Malaysian foods. Located in good spot, easy to find. …
Rare find in Sydney to get authentic Malay-Chinese as good as this. Char Kway Teow is top notch and a must-try! The staff are friendly and very helpful too.

Newly renovated, gives a cosy feel. Quality of food has gone up a few notches! Penang Kuey Teow and Hainanese Chicken Rice are good starts.
The food here is amazing & the lunch specials are great serving sizes. Staff are beautiful & the restaurant is busy but extremely clean
