2021 Fireworks show in San Antonio, TX. •••"What to bring" advice below••• The food trucks were clustered together and the lines were not ideal for families with kids, strollers, and full hands. There was definitely a better way to space out the fun. The city advertised carnival games but everything was (there were a couple of mobile trucks with games) piled together and impossible to navigate. There were no rides or anything that you'd expect from a large city's annual celebration. The park has a playground but good heavens... imagine the pile of kids utilizing the only bit of entertainment in the park. Again, this is my first time celebrating with the city; however, there could be so much more to really enjoy this venue for fireworks. Bring entertainment for the little ones or you're going to be struggling to keep their attention for long. Bathrooms lines are excessive and placed every so often along the way. I'd return in future years but you'll need to bring a few items to enjoy the stay like a 12x12 canopy (shade from the sun), chairs, cooler (byob-alcohol and non-boozy), food/snacks/grill (you can BBQ on site), entertainment (cornhole, games, water guns, bocce ball, music), and pack it all into a collapsible wagon to haul it around. There's tons of room to claim some landscape art the park. You can even bring sparklers too. Vendors are sparse so getting aqua fresca, snow cones, or even light up toys for the kids were not happening. Make sure you have all that you need or want otherwise you will be really thirsty and hungry until you escape the post-show traffic while you head home.
What a wonderful place to spend some quality family time. Away from devices and connected to a park full of wildlife. So relaxing. And what a privilege it is to see the smile of your child’s face glowing with pure joy. Very easy to get to. Plenty of parking. And plenty of friendly ducks. We were able to get up close and personal with the swan. Unfortunately, we did not have a chance to use the playground or basketball court this time. But there is plenty to do here, plenty of games, you can bring and have a blast with your family, your kids, and your loved ones. Don’t underestimate the joy of the park.
Playground
Kids playing with kids. With plenty of parents keeping an eye on everyone.
Restrooms
Allows you to enjoy your time at the park without having to leave.
Dog-friendliness
Plenty of room for your pets to roam. And plenty of kids that would want to pet your dog.
Picnic area
Nice picnic area. it is a great spot to bring snacks and beverages so your family can recharge after playing on the playground and basketball court.
My Daughter and I visited Woodlawn Lake Park last weekend. It is a lovely area, that I'm sure is even more lovely in the Spring because of the large number of trees. It was very clean on the day we visited. This was my first visit. I thought it was so cool to see part of the skyline that included The Tower of the Americas, The Basilica, The Frost Bank, and The Tower Life Building. The birds were very active. The lake was very swift and a bit choppy, and had sediment near the surface, but it was still beautiful. I'm assuming the recent storm may have whipped it up. (?) There are playscapes, tennis courts, picnic tables, benches, basketball courts, walking or jogging paths, and more. The lighthouse is charming, and you can even catch a glimpse of passenger planes heading to and from the airport. The park is normally open daily, from 5:00 AM-12:00 AM. I look forward to our next visit.

Delightful urban pond/lake with public pool, decent public restrooms, short walk/run trail, and kayaking from the Expedition School for $15 Thursday through Saturday. Not the biggest park, but it's hard to beat a natural space with downtown San Antonio and the Little Flower Basilica as a back drop.
Playground
Two playgrounds seem to be a hit with the kids
Restrooms
Decent public restrooms similar to a nice roadside rest area.
Dog-friendliness
Definitely dog friendly place and people.
Picnic area
Many families picnicking, fishing, and enjoying the public green space.
My family and I love the events here and I come often to take walks with my husband and son but I never go alone as there are many stray dogs in the area and this has worsened over the years. The playground is large but it needs way better upkeep and work done to it as it's getting old and run down. The playground's artificial ground is broken up in many places with large pieces missing, which caused me to almost trip and fall a couple of times. The tennis courts are nice and we use them often.
I’m new to the San Antonio area and just happened to be driving by and found this wonderful park. It has a beautiful lake in the middle of the park filled with ducks and some swans. The park has beautiful views all around a kids play ground and so much more. We had a wonderful time hanging out at the park and will be coming back as much as we can now. If you haven’t been here I suggest if your in the area you stop by. Have a wonderful day and thank you for reading the review
I love it here. Early morning walks. People please keep the restrooms clean. The public restroom near the pool has been locked for weeks. Meanwhile we walk early mornings full of coffee and don't have anywhere to use restroom. Now they have locked it up an no one can use it. Please do better citizens. The park is for everyone.
Restrooms
Neighbors do your best at keeping our parks clean. Be a good person it doesn't cost you anything.
Nice park with a small lake. A jogging/walking path works it’s way through the park and around the lake. The sky line of San Antonio is visible from the park. A light house is also visible from anywhere in the park that is in the middle of the lake. Has parking areas and is a short walk to a playground and tennis courts. I found the best thing about this park is the wide variety of ducks in the park and along the shore.
East Entrance. The kids had a lot of fun at the park. Having toys for younger and older kids is a real plus. They also had liked watching all the birds on the lake. The big slide has a large crack on the bottom. The top slide entrance appears to be boarded off but the exit only has orange construction fence wrapped around part of it. The lake is a very short walk from the toys and there is no fence between the two.
I love going here for walks when I'm looking for some fresh air. It has a nice little workout area along the walking path. Plus everything you need for a picnic and even fishing if you want. As you can see, I actually caught a fish jumping out of the water while taking pics of the birds, lol. They even have a pool that will be open for the summer on June 17th. Free for everyone.
LOVED IT! We went 1st day it was cool and early and we fed the ducks and girls played a bit no one has hardly there...keep in mind early I mean we there by 815a or so 830ish so wasn't any crowd which was good. Later In day gets packed, but thats ME myself and I (my preferences) I still get nervous with covid around still but GREAT DAY IT WAS
Beautiful area with plenty of different people and animals. Good place to bring the family and pets. They have fountains for the dogs which I really like. Though there are a lot of ant piles and my leg was covered by ants. The water was murky. The playground was very nice and the ground is cushioned, so it won’t hurt too much if a kid falls.
So beautiful ! First time here the day before Fourth of July , ducks love being fed grapes cut up since BREAD IS SO BAD FOR THEM! And watermelon, they follow u and the parks looked clean and fun for kids. I believe there is two play areas for children. Will be going back even if it’s a little far from me . Seemed like a nice area
Awesome neighborhood park with BEAUTIFUL sunsets!! That was the reason I was there at 6pm, in hopes some great photos. Google sunset times as they change from day to day. Also tennis courts, bbq pits, kids play equipment, plenty of parking and free rest rooms available. Dog friendly park. This and so much more. Check it out!!
Always a beautiful trail to walk or run on. Fields to play or have a picnic. 2 playgrounds. Tennis courts Basketball courts. 1 or 2 pavilions. BBQ pits. And you can fish here. I walk my dog here often as I live 3 minutes away. It can get crowded, but everyone is always polite to each other! Favorite park in the city!
Nice place to visit. There is a walking/jogging trail surrounded by a lake. It has playground for kids. Shaded area for doing party. Restrooms are not very clean but okay. You can do fishing but no Swimming or wadding. You can find lots of duck, you can feed them. It has basketball court, exercise place.
Nice park and walking trail. My dog loves it! There's a small dog park across the street but we prefer to explore around the lake.
Dog-friendliness
If your dog is ok around lots of ducks and geese it's a nice place to walk them. There are plenty of water fountains around for dogs and people.
Beautiful jewel near downtown with a model sail biat crowd around on most weekends. No swimming, this is a lake to sit and watch the waters while you relax. A walking trail wraps around it for exercise. There is a primitive public unisex restroom, so save it for emergencies. No fires allowed.
I love this park. Dog friendly and they provide Dog poop stations. Too bad many people do not utilize them. People do not pick up after their pets. The park would be so much nicer if people appreciated the park and kept it clean.
Dog-friendliness
Excellent park to walk your pets!!
So... IF YOU GO WALKING WITH YOUR KIDS...... Be aware of needles broken glass near and around the trail. Playground areas no issues yet... lot of trash in around and near the lake. Fishing is okay..... if you are fishing aim in between fishing piers... also between pier and platform.
In my opinion, the park would be much more beautiful if the city would remove the not so good looking trees that have been planted around the bank of the lake and plant some prettier ones.
Restrooms
There was a long line at the bathroom, the bathroom had only one toilet in it.
Beautiful out here! Our favorite park in the area with great ambiance and over a mile of sidewalk trail that wraps around the lake for walking/biking etc. Bring your picnic to sit and relax by the lake but dont forget to bring bread or crackers to feed the ducks and enjoy nature!
The lake could be a four star rating if the city would keep up with the tree trimming, add bathrooms, otherwise, it's a nice place to jog, walk, barbecue or relax.
Restrooms
The restrooms are usually nasty, the park needs more of them to accommodate more people.
Always a good time! Both my girls love it here, plenty of options for both of them despite their large age gap. And there's usually an ice cream truck in the parking lot with drinks and goodies for all ages
Playground
Designed to be accessible for all ages
My favorite park since I was a lil girl now 57 n still love it
Playground
New playgrounds
Restrooms
Restrooms are always attended to
Dog-friendliness
All kinds of doggies
Picnic area
It's beautiful to make a nice picnic and bbq area
Love this park! The hours are awesome, the grounds are kept up, several working water fountains available, amazing lake that is walkable or run-able per your needs, lots of mature trees surrounding the lake, wildlife, lots of parking available. Safe area!
There are so many different amenities my boys and I love this park. We live on the complete opposite side of San Antonio but come here as often as we can rather then any other parks solely because of how many different attractions this one has.
Love this park! It’s so beautiful and the view is wonderful. I love to just go and sit and watch the ducks and an occasional swan swim. Everyone is always friendly. If your new to town or are just in the area stop by for a relaxing time.
Lovely, short paved trail to take the family. There's a playscape (forgot to take a picture), ducks, geese, fishing. Nice little HealthBeat area that allows you to do body workouts. Pet friendly, just keep your furry friend(s) leashed!
Great little park to run in. The norm is twice around for a 5K. Watch out for loose dogs in the neighborhood. Most are friendly. Even had one join my and my own dog during the race. It tagged along and crossed the finish line with us.
Very beautiful place with lots of things to do. They’re have a walking track with mile markers and a exercise station.. Playground, basketball courts, no soccer fields from what I saw. Pet friendly. There’s also ducks- and geese.
Great for walking, running, or biking the trail. There is an area to play basketball and for children to play. There is also several areas for sitting down and having a picnic. Celebrated Earth Day on 04/23/22
Pool is very nice in the evening. Slide was lots of fun for the kids , also there is shade there . Nice friendly group of ladies working in the front, very welcoming , very clean. Lifeguards super attentive
It was nice and we fed all the ducks and geese and birds and a few crows oh even pigeons !!! It was awesome my granddaughter was having good time asa we got home she was out , hahaha lol !!!!! …
This is such a cool park. It's pretty, well-maintained, and loved by the community. I could tell by the amount of people there midday. I liked the walk on the other side of the lake, away from the road.
This is a beautiful place! A welcomed Oasis in the midst of San Antonio. The lake is great for fishing, kayaking, and duck watching. Plenty of paths to stretch your legs, ride a bike or take a lap!
Nice little park near downtown. Pretty clean. Distance signage for people exercising can be found along the path around the lake. Area feels safe, and the surrounding neighborhood is very lovely.
Wow a hidden gem on San Antonio’s west side. Beautiful lake surrounded by a paved walk path. There are tons of ducks and two docks for fishing. The sunsets are amazing don’t miss this spot.
Beautiful park and very peaceful, even with all the ducks and geese squawking around you. There's a basketball court and trails to run on and even a dock you can fish off of. I loved it!
Beautiful park. Has Mile and half walk path around lake . Lots of Fishing, Free WiFi. Picnic area. Lots of Ducks. I have made this my routine. I recommend …
Absolutely love it here and miss it. Can’t swim in the water. Needed to say that cause I get that question a lot The trail is beautiful, simple and pleasant.
Came here to feed the ducks at sunset. Perfect relaxing place to spend an evening. Bring oatmeal or bread to feed the ducks and enjoy the view.
Visited for the 4th of July festivities. A good variety of food vendors. And the had water refill station. Fireworks display was a good one.
The outdoor pool is huge and the SA Parks and Rec classes here are great! Definitely a nice place for cycling as well.
I love going and seeing the sunrise there its so beautiful n peaceful its like u can talk to God there it’s incredible
It's a beautiful park with a lake and a walking path around it. I was here to watch the 2023 annular solar eclipse.
Most serine place to walk and relax. Beautiful scenery and lake. Love all the wild life running around.
