Great coffee and great pastries. However, please heat your vetkoek filling in the morning before you open your shop, having a vetkoek thats luke warm and filling thats ice cold and i mean ICE COLD in the middle is not nice, you can even feel the water in your mouth, its disgusting, they do warm up the vet koek but then it results in a vet koek thats nice and warm on the outside and ice cold on the inside. This is really not nice. Also, this branch is always a bit slow, i dont know if they are understaffed, which i highly doubt because there are always different people walking around behind the counter, but this is not a huge problem, the ice cold vetkoek however is digusting.

I am an Xpresso Durbanville regular. Today was my first Xpresso Cape Gate experience, and it was not a pleasant one. The lady serving was really slow and uninterested in serving me. The way she handled making a sandwich was unenjoyable. I watched as she took dirty-looking buckets filled with tuna mayo mix. Which is all fine and well when it’s done out of my sight. But it really put me off eating it. Furthermore, she dropped her glove on the filthy floor, and had I not seen it happen, she would have used it. I gave it a three star based purely on the fact that the barista lady was lovely and, as always, Xpresso coffee is always great!

If I should compare N1 city with Cape Gate then I will give N1 city a 7 stars for everything - The muffins are smaller in Cape Gate! I had to wait for my coffee at this store where someone else who bought after me got his coffee before me and also the ladies serving the coffee need to change their way of thinking. Won't go Into detail, but the owner needs to find bigger space!

Changed from 2 to 4 stars after significant improvements after last review. Old review: After recent revamp, things are not great. New layout causes foot traffic problems for mall customers due to waiting times, and new waiting area. Confusion for customers as to where to place order. Worst of all however, is lukewarm coffee. 3 times now, in a row - don't know if it's a training issue, or equipment issue, but it is unacceptable. Glad that food items seem to be more readily in stock though.

My husband and I, both in our early 70s went to Xpresso Cafe at Cape Gate. The one opposite Woolworths. I ordered two chocolate muffins and one coffee and one 5 roses tea. They didnt have sweetners at the collection point and only gave ONE sugar for each cup from a glass dispenser. Secondly, they didnt have anything to stir the coffee and tea with! Thirdly, I asked for hot coffee and to my surprise the coffee was lukewarm. That is the last time that I will go to Xpresso Cafe

Coffee is great! Pastries are delicious, so far we've tried the custard danish, apple danish, chocolate cinnamon twist and my son had a massive chocolate donut! All great.... The best thing about this place is the price! The customer service is great too, the ladies are always friendly and super fast! If there is a long queue, it moves quickly.

Have been buying my daily bread there for several months - slightly pricey at R17:50 a loaf but very nice bread. Shocked to discover this morning that the price had jumped a whopping 30% to R22:50 a loaf. How can they defend such a hefty increase? None of our salaries have risen by anything close to that so it's goodbye from me. Ouch! I got the wrong shop, I meant the bakery next door to Xpresso which is called Limnos I think. Apologies for that.

Very nice coffee shop it is 10 for a cup of good coffee 10 4 cappuccino 10 for flat white 10 for everything this just goes to show you that other coffee shops are ripping you off every day if this place can sell coffee for 10 just means the other places are ripping you off they have nice pastries also and it is also 10 rand a great addition to Cape Town coffee shops can Rand what a pleasure well done

Was at Cape Gate branch just now at 16:45. Stood in the que a few minutes earlier. When I wanted to order a coffee was told they are not serving coffees anymore, they are cleaning the machine. It leaves a customer so annoyed. They should only clean when the shop is closed to avoid irritating customers. And their attitude is so oblivious. They care zero about customer satisfaction. My dad discovered the gem while waiting for me to finish shopping. We ordered a hazelnut cupachino with a chocolate donut. The coffee was amazing and the donut was really fresh and delicious. Everything on the menu is R10 which makes it a big bonus. I do wish they would add much more seating though so it would be possible to sit and enjoy their food and drinks.

Used to be one of my favorite shops for a quick coffee and bite but the staff and service at the capegate branch has dropped tremendously . Sometimes you only find one person taking orders and making them which is unacceptable especially in the morning during there busy hours. Dont think it's worthwhile buying from them anymore. …

Everything tastes amazing. Just wish they had a bigger store aswell as two pay stations, one just for coffee and the other for snacks and coffee.. the line is always extremely long and slow

Love this place fresh snacks and love the coffee that gets served here me and my fiancé are regulars here and we never had a bad moment here honestly one of the best places to get a fresh snack and a nice hot coffee any time of day good job to the staff and managment for good serves

Every time we go to Cape Gate Shopping Mall, we stop off at Xpresso Cafe. Unbelievably good value for money. Where else can you get coffee or tea and something to eat with it for R20? The coffee is always good and the eats are fresh and tasty.

Chai tea is a tea to get use to but I adapted very quickly to the taste. In fact a like the taste so much, I will recommend you to go and try and the coffee and tea. There is added bites available to choose from so get yourself overtime

Great products, however while in the store I saw and heard how they treat their staff. its not a very welcoming atmosphere when the staff members aren't treated well while customers are present. Do better. Specifically Zevenwacht mall

Your Apple Danish pastries have changed of late! Longer, dry, all pastry and no apple filler! Definitely not what they used to be. I suggest a 180 turn or you will lose your customer base and fast…
