Supermarket
"Terrible experience!! Fruit and vegetables are not fresh"
"This is a large store which used to be a Canadian Tire at one time"
"It is running by the family owned for years, also this building and land belongs to this family who has been taken over from the Cambodian family before, when the Cambodian family was broken down and had no money to pay the mortgage and suppliers"
"I'm surprised there aren't more people shopping at this supermarket"
"2 packs of corns yesterday and found out all were rotten"
Terrible experience!! Fruit and vegetables are not fresh. I bought peanuts on sale before, but they were tasted disgusting after boiled. I called the shop and was told to take peanut picture and invoice back for refund if I can’t bring the peanuts back. As I lived far away from the market, yesterday when I dropped by, they refused to refund because I didn’t bring the peanuts back even though I explained very clearly that I called before. The man finally came out claiming he is the boss and they never sell bad food. Therefore I cannot get refund without the peanuts. $5.5? I understand why there are few customers in this supermarket. As they don’t care about their customers, their only concern is to earn money by selling the low quality food. No credit at all!
This is a large store which used to be a Canadian Tire at one time. There are lots of fresh vegetables, fruits and frozen goods at reasonable prices. They have a huge selection of teas and utensils. There is a meat section and bake goods as well. They also sell vegetable plants and flower plants during the season. The store is usually clean and people are friendly. There is an optical place for your eye glasses. Pharmacy and you can buy lotteries as well. In the summer time there is a garden centre with all kinds of vegetable and flower plants. Update October 2023. They have done renovations and the store looks much better now. There are new tiles, the lights are better and the aisles are well marked in English.
It is running by the family owned for years, also this building and land belongs to this family who has been taken over from the Cambodian family before, when the Cambodian family was broken down and had no money to pay the mortgage and suppliers. I remembered that the first properties were belongs to Canadian Tires many years ago and sold out to the Cambodians. Now Chinese owners have been carried by the people who from FuJian Province of China . This place is big enough for groceries shopping , especially during COVID-19 pandemic, people can keep safe distance easily. The merchandise and prices are ️, but services are just fairly, so I gave it 3 stars.
I'm surprised there aren't more people shopping at this supermarket. Our family's been shopping here for years. They carry a wide range of inventory - everything you'd expect to find at an asian supermarket and more. Prices are cheaper than at most other places. The place is clean and the merchandise is all stacked neatly. Produce like fruits and vegetables are always fresh. Staff is friendly and will go out of their way to be helpful. This is my one-stop shop and go-to place for groceries especially during covid, as the place is so big, social distancing is not an issue - especially when I go either first thing in the morning or an hour before closing. Highly recommended!
2 packs of corns yesterday and found out all were rotten. Checked to the receipt, another surprise, overcharged 1 more pack for original price. Brought back for return the next day, but the manager said those corns were not sold by them. Spent 20 mins to deal with them, having checked the video playback. Thanks God, I finally proved myself innocent. Most terrible experience in Canada so far. Their attitude really made me sick. The whole block of rotten corns are still there, they are just waiting for other victims. Guys, try not to buy packed vegetables there. Also, remember to check your receipt unless you dont mind to pay for something you haven't bought.
This is a super huge super market grocery store on Dundas and Erindale station road, right beside the court house. A long time ago, it was a Canadian Tire store. With it's high vaulted ceiling and very spacious isles, it feels like a private and personal store as it's rarely busy during the week. They have a huge selection of Asian products and produces. There's a fish market deep inside. Staff is polite and quick. Outside, there's tons of parking. The brick and the pavement is a little run down but that doesn't stop anyone from shopping for the stuff they need. Great place and a good alternative to BTrust and TNT which is also in the area close by.
Services so bad. Cashier only has 3 persons. Line up so long into all the aisles. Some prices are not correct. They charged more than the price tags. The cereal section, has many items with already expired product since 2021. Most of the shelves empty, not sure what has happened. Very disappointed. If you have other choice to go grocery please do so at another grocery stores. In July 2023, when I visited again, they already renovate all area, and it looks better than before. In Nov 2023, we found expired product on the shelves (see pictures). Be careful if you buy items here, as some products are still on shelves. Check the expiry date first.
Store ok but one of cashier are very bad service to their customer. Unknown why Yuen Ming supermarket hired this kind of people ? Did she having a customer service training skill to service customer ??The attitude was very bad ! She don't have the a service bag ( like buy something vegetables fruits or food customer need a service bag put stuffs into the clear bag, right. She don't like to provided, she may need customer to pay 5¢ a bag ?? Anyway that's kind of business not acceptable. Also can't helping customer take stuff s into very thin clear plastic bag.how can the store make money. Anyway very very bag service okay
Visited Yuan Ming supermarket for the first time ever. I am very impressed with the huge variety and great prices of various products. They have so many indoor amd outdoor plants and also herbs and vegetable plants. The prices are one of the best as compared with garden centers and nurseries. I was so surprised to see such a huge selection of fresh fruits and vegetables. There is also a large variety of grocery items, some of them are very unique and not to be easily seen at other grocery stores. The cashier was very friendly and nice. A must-visit. Plant lovers will be pleasantly surprised.
Pros: BBQ section recently re-opened. Rest of Food Court slowly coming soon?? Cons: Cashiers should focus on their work instead of yapping with their fellow coworkers. Had doubled paid for one of their co-worker's purchase because cashier was busy talking about more important things in their lives. Cashier made things right by refunding me his charges: -1 star for this episode. BTW, learn how to form a proper line. Didn't snag any photos from the other side of the BBQ section where the chicken, pork ribs and BBQ pork was with the way this line was formed today. -2 stars for this disgrace.
Located in Mississauga, Yuan Ming is one of the top supermarkets in the Greater Toronto Area. High-quality food and household products from all over world, including the freshest meats, vegetables and seafoods are housed in 55,000 squared feet of space. Yuan Ming supermarket also offer BBQ foods, ready-made meals and freshly baked goods. Since its establishment, Yuan Ming is dedicated to providing customer satisfaction and low prices. Both Yuan Ming locations in Mississauga offer ample parking spaces and are open 7 days a weeks, from 8:30am to 9pm daily.
This is one of my favorite places to shop for groceries with a very wide range of fresh fruit and vegetable varieties and reasonable prices. the frozen Seafood section is great and you can always find attractive offers. There is also a fresh Seafood section with lot of fish kinds where I always buy the Chinese Buffalo fish of 6 - 7 kg than I cannot find it elsewhere. I also like the kitchenware section that have almost everything you may need in very good prices. I would recommend this place for anyone who runs on budget and look for good quality food.
WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE IN THE WHOLE GTA. I always drive 30 minutes to this store and on my last shopping I left a bag of meats worth over $100 on the till the next day was a public holiday so they were closed. Went back once they were open they looked in the cameras and saw that while I was packing my groceries in a bag another customer had mistakenly taken my bag of meats. They refused to give me back the products or any sort of refund. Never seen a customer service this bad. Nobody to answer your questions because no one speaks English
Pretty big store. Has groceries , walk-in clinic, pharmacy, optician and hair dresser attached. Computer peripherals and printer shop is available as well. Lot of parking available. Very popular. If there was any doubt about competition being a good thing yuan Ming will dispel those. Extensive renovation taking place here mostly due to another swanky new grocery fresh palace opening recently. Yuan Ming surely felt the pinch on their bottom line and renovation is their strategy to cope with. I guess it is a good strategy. It should help.
Cashier are either like dead people without any emotion when checking out the items, no greeting at all, even no basic eye contact, just put some self check machine, which will do better job!! Price tags are misleading, they mix regular and special items together to bait you and hope you won't check the receipt, what a shameless place to be there.... will never go back again, or the business is shrinking and quality of the grocery is going down a lot. If you want fresh grocery, go somewhere else!
I love the variety here compared to any other Asian stores. Plus their prices are the most reasonable! I'll surely be coming again, just discovered it randomly a few months ago. They carry the best produce at the most economical rates around the area. The display isn't bad either. You can find a great variety of sea food as well. The place does smell a bit weird probably because of all the fish and other fresh sea food, perhaps they can do something about it.
Great veggies, rare foreign finds and bakery treats, big Reduced section. Prices are good for produce & SOME other items, but CHEAP fruit will likely be rotten. Don't risk it if u can't inspect. Standards are kinda low for perishables. Try not to make a mistake w/extra purchases, cause it'll take 14-22min for a supervisor to help u and authorize a refund right after buying. Not much customer service unless u speak Mandarin.
Expect reasonable prices, but maybe don't expect much customer service. Workers aren't as friendly, unlike Btrust and T&T, but in their defence, they probably are not comfortable speaking English or are overworked, which is both completely understandable. Otherwise, the prices are reasonable, produce is fresh enough. Last I went, they were doing some construction, but otherwise, they're pretty organized most times.
I went there a few weeks ago. Everything was fine except for that I saw a staff sitting on the stack of rice, with one foot stepping on another pack of rice, chatting on her phone, happily, for a quite long time. At least for her background (race) I am pretty sure it is very rude to sit on goods, especially food. It seems like she doesn’t mind at all if any costumer saw her sitting on the rice. I was shocked!
Bought a case of mangoes from them on Saturday. When we cut them open on Tuesday, they were all dark coloured inside, clearly signs they were previously frozen and not from over ripeness. I called customer service but they refuse to accept return for reasons it's been a few days from purchase date. They kept deflecting the situation instead of addressing it. Obviously, they have no sense of customer service.
Got some produce last Saturday. Good things first: 1) Lots of variety. Produce, Chines stuff, fish and meat 2) Huge place 3) Not too crowded Not so good things: 1) Produce wasnt fresh. Most pre-packed produce (done by the Supermarket) had rotten stuff underneath 2) Although they have a huge variety of seafood and fish, I personally found the fish section unhygienic. 3) Very few check out lanes accept Cards.
This place is a decent Asian grocery store with great sales every now and then, but I'd be cautious with their Hot Food as it isn't always the freshest and they seem to not always follow proper food handling procedures. Sometimes they leave discounted cooked food out in the open (as in not under a warming/heat source), so it may not be the safest to eat if you don't know how long it's been out.
Newly renovated. Bright, clean and spacious. Overall very well organized for an Asian supermarket. Perishables especially fruits and vegetables were fresher than before. I like the adjacent nursery and garden section with direct access from inside the supermarket. Ample parking is available and the supermarket is not as busy as the others in the area. Good place to grocery shop here.
The place has just been renovated so it is really clean esp the seafood area. The food is packaged nicely and clean. The staff are very polite and nice. Parking is spacious, and the aisles are much wider than other grocery stores (our bicycle wheel stroller can navigate easily). It has a wide variety of asian food (we can easily find tons of Vietnamese food and ingredients).
I have never been to a Chinese supermarket before but was doing volunteer shopping for a lady. It was very cool and interesting to say the least. I have to say that they have the best variety of fruits and vegetables I have seen and they were great quality. Be sure to have your translator app handy on your phone however because some of the staff do not speak English.
Yuan Ming supermarket 元明超市- There are a wide range of different merchandise in the supermarket, they are from seafood, butcher, vegatable to kitchen ware and chinese medicine. All goods are arranged neatly and clean on the shelf. Look for the weekly special items in the store, they are really below the regular price. There is also a walk-in clinic and pharmacy.
I like this place a lot , fresh vegetables and fruits, fishes and deli, good prices sometimes lower prices, good quality, this place is good for families who wants to save money and buy good products, visit the place and have a look you will like it , big parking space, the staff are friendly and helpful, I recommend this place strongly to everyone, thanks
This is a good place to purchase Asian goods. It is a large store, the aisles are wide that one can go grocery shopping without feeling cramped. The stocks are neatly organized and lots of variety to choose from. Also, aside from food items I also enjoy checking out the section of kitchen stuff - cookware, other tools and gadgets and so much more.
Do NOT buy your plants from this place! I purchased some seedlings that were clearly marked as Scotch Bonnet and Ghost Pepper. Imagine my surprise when the only thing that grew from these plants were Thai chilies. Not even remotely close to what they were supposed to be (and were sold as). Congratulations- you've lost a customer. Hope you're happy.
The store is undergoing a renovation and is still carrying varities of Asian food as well as household stuff. During tge renovation, it remains as organized. The entire store is brighter and fresher. There are still many choices. However, I still found the washroom is rather awful ans smelly. I trust the refreshments shall also look into it.
Selling tough hen meat as “Chicken tenderloin” Selling almost expired veggies as “Fresh” Selling plastic wrapped almost rotten produce Do not buy produce or meat from this store. Stick to sealed and packaged products with real expiration dates. Someone call the inspector because whoever is managing the produce needs prison time.
One of the 3 larger Asian markets in the area. It’s currently undergoing a renovation and layout has changed. It had a decent offering in the past but looks like more variety is being carried as a result of the reno which isn’t a bad thing as it tries to regain some of the market share that was lost when Fresh Palace opened up.
Excellent! I just needed to pop in and pick up veggies and some ingredients to make fresh rolls. Great prices. Check out did not have the crazy line ups like the other Asian grocery stores. Fast and efficient. Although, it would have been even better if the cashier helped bagged instead of just watch me. Overall, I'd go back.
It's a decent supermarket for Asian produce. Reasonable prices. If you are looking at utensils from Ali Express check here first most likely u will get it. One of the best finds was the phin for vietnamese coffee for a much lower price than Amazon. The tea ball filter u can also get it here. Good selection of fish and meats.
Lots of variety in their Asian products. Their seafood section needs work-all the crabs looked dead and the smell is overwhelming in comparison to other asian grocers. I alwats try to get a roasted duck when I'm there- super easy dinner and sometimes new to try besides the rôtisserie chicken available at other stores.
Great variety of groceries, I find more variety than nations and not as many people here either. Prices seem a little cheaper here as well. not a very great selection of meats, mostly pork and few beef options. Quality of meat doesnt look too great and seems most of them is frozen for freshness/or maybe low turnover
I would not shop in this grocery store any more. The staff here is unfriendly. The middle-aged man (around 40 years old) at the customer service desk has very BAD customer service attitudes, he is rude and horrible, and he even puts curses on customers. There are lots of customer friendly grocery stores around.
Amazing massive place to shop if you cook food at home. Great supply of fresh veggies and almost any brand of things you need. (Asian, South Asian). Prices are very competitive and clearly marked. Great ventilation. I went during 6-7ish on a Tuesday. Not busy or packed at all. My new favourite place!
Lots of variety of food to choose from but many people there don't do any social distancing. edit review - recently, this supermarket is going downhill because i seen food and packages of snacks expired and they don't restock it. Make sure to check the expiry date on the things you are buying.
I came looking for great produce because I couldn't find good mangoes in my regular store. This place is massive!! The aisles are wide, the store is very clean and well stocked. Their produce section is amazing!! I found everything I was looking for and more. I will certainly be returning.
I hadn’t shopped here in years and decided to stop by today. Wow! It’s so depressing! The store needs updating badly, there were hardly any other customers present and a lot of the fruits were over ripened. I will definitely stick to Oceans or Nations next time I go to an Asian market.
The old owner is very nice as we have been 20+ years customers to them. however the inhouse ready to eat section (ShaoLa, Cooked dishes etc.) is badly managed comparing to their competitors such as T&T. I am sure they lost a lot of potential customers for it. Need to catch up !
Really nice produce section - I'm particularly fond of their mushroom selection. Good options for dougan as well. Besides those stand-out points, it's otherwise just a solid grocery store with good options for spices, dried goods, soy sauce, bean pastes, Chinese pickles, etc.
This asian grocery is pretty big. Not a lot of people when we went. There are some boxes in the aisle ready to be put out. Frozen section and Produce are alright. The meat section I'm not sure about. Cash are decent it seems long line up but they move the line pretty quick.
It's a nice big, actually huge, store with lots of produce and other options. Good luck trying to talk to someone in English if you need any help. They might be able to help with certain basic things but not if you ask more than a very basic question about something.
Great Chinese supermarket serving the Mississauga and Etobicoke area. I consider Yuan Ming Supermarket as the No frills of Chinese grocers for the area. The prices are very fair and it has many of the Chinese food items and ingredients that you would need.
Last week went there for the first time in life, I was literally impressed by the verity of house hold products & grocery items they have. Further needs to mention I found them even better, more reasonable in prince then the the well known grocery stores.
A pretty good place to come. In my opinion, it has gotten a lot better in the past years. It's cleaner and brighter. Overall, in terms of look, it can't compare to a BTrust or a T&T. However, the prices here are cheaper which is really all that matters.
Was looking for some veggies and herbs to plant. Came across this location driving by, they have many flowers, veggies, herbs to plant. Different stuff from the big box stores. Will visit inside the store next trip to check out the renovations.
Grocery shop lime walmart , it has live fish section and the prices also are reasonable, if you are frequently shopping in this store better take memberships where you will get additional discount when recharging your balence and shopping also
Very very bad customer service. They employees are soo rude and full of attitude. They yelled at me for asking about the fruits. They were like come check it out if you want. I’ve never experienced such bad customer service in my life. …
We've been going here for years but you're only good as your last trip. Bought some meat from the butcher that was going rotten. They cut off the skin to hide it bc it's the skin that goes off first and we should have knew something was up
Huge supermarket with lots of interesting stuff. Some things are cheap others are expensive. You can get almost everything. Wish we had this type of supermarket in my country. Have have lots of choices. Everything is fresh and packed well.
Just experienced a very rude staff who suddenly pushed away my basket from behind w/o saying anything but staring at me while I was picking some veggies. The funny thing is no supervisor or manager on duty because of weekends! No wonder!
This is our favourite supermarket. We always buy our grocery items from this store since we arrived in Canada in 2006. The price is really reasonable compared to other Chinese supermarkets like T & T, B-Trust and Ocean's. I can compare
Merchandise selection is great, however staff not very friendly. I used to come here quite a bit as a child, but now it seems much more run down and depressed than before. Seems they haven’t done any renovations since at least 10 years.
Love this supermarket because their BBQ meat, the best BBQ shop in Mississauga, at least for me it is haha. Other things are okay but fruit is not very fresh, and the decorations are a bit old tho, but so far I still like to go there:)
Super clean and tidy! Staff are friendly and professional and there’s lots of vegetables and meats. The seafood section is so clean, best one I’ve been to. If you’re looking for a great shopping experience this is the place.
Good selection of produce and fun snacks, just wish it was a little cleaner inside and that the staff were actually polite, price wise it’s better then most other asian grocers so I guess for that I’ll keep coming back!
Not much has changed. Occasionally have items at great sale prices. Still takes credit cards thank goodness. Place is clean as usual. Though their hot foods section could be beefed up - selection was thin when I went.
Love Love this place! Another great place to find great Asian products and other ethnic products as well. Plus they have a great range of fresh produce and vegan items such as noodles, sauces and much more to explore
Great asian grocer, nice variety and is often overlooked, grew up coming here and now come here often. Nice varieties, and offer hygenic products. Also amazing prices and wide variety of fruit and veggies especially.
It has been renovated and very nice than before. You can find so many varieties of fruits and vegetables plus other Chinese food items. There are live fish, crabs, lobster, shell fish to select. Very clean.
Grew up coming here, back when there used to be a movie shop too. Prices are still decent if you know what you're looking for. But like any store, there's still some stuff you can get cheaper elsewhere
This store is somewhat big and not crowded. plenty of choices on vegetables , fruits, meat and fishes. Pricing is fairly good. Food quality is better than other similar stores I have visited so far.
It should get in step & make its flyers effective on Thursdays (not Fridays) like everybody else. It would be more successful if it expanded its focus to draw-in the non-Asian crowd as well.
Best store with fresh produce and decently priced! Very friendly staff. Always my first preference in the city! Just a request to have branches in different cities as they are the best ❤️!
Great place to get your groceries if you love fruits and vegetables. I prefer to go here when I’m in need of greens. Variety is good but I don’t like how it smells as soon as you enter it.
Good store for all your Grocery needs. Amazing for snacks from Asia. Fair prices and super fast cashiers. WiFi never works. Washrooms need work. Recent renovations to store look awesome.
Went on Thursday grocery shopping and bought quite a bit of veggies. I bought 2 bags of avocados for $5. Total waste of money as the first one I cut open today is absolutely rotten.
Their meat were fresh and good quality and their price on groceries, fruits and vegetables were pretty competitive. They just newly renovated and will have a food court coming soon.
Good fish selection. Plus the meat is at a very good price. Wasn't so busy when I went in today. They seem to have lower prices and a variety of items not found in regular markets.
Revisited after long time. It has been redecorated. This is brighter and better. I can see a lot uncommon products. Probably the best in term of product varieties in Mississauga
It was my 1st visit in more than 3 years. They've really cleaned up and organized the aisles better. Store looks brighter now so I probably be back more often...
Good prices on meats and produce but not the place if your looking for western cuts of meat. Store is clean but communication is poor if you don't speak Chinese.
Have been to the store numerous times. The new layout is excellent. The inside of the store is bright, clean and the products are displayed in a logical manner.
Will open food court soon NEWLY RENOVATED. Very nice layout. Very good price. Good quality of veggie and fruits. Its BBQ pork is the best in town.
Prices reslly shot up since really gone up cant find things no help been going there for 30 years sucks never seen prices rise to this extent
Way better than Ocean’s by Square One. The place is very clean, the items are clearly priced, and they accept credit cards as payment!
Fantastic grocery market with fresh food. Very well organized and superb customer service. Lots of parking. Highly recommended.
Bought a fresh crab there but the price was more expensive compared to the flyer because they said the special price is limited
Prices are great when items go on sale. And after renovation the place looks much neater now. (Upgraded from 4 to 5 stars.)
Good prices on see food, fish, and all other grocery needs. Chinese specify spices and products, like shopping there a lot.
A phenomenal variety of grocery items housewares & plants here at Yuan Ming Supermarket in Mississauga,Ontario,Canada.
This guy working always listening to music and not answering my wife questions No respect for men or women …
Clean store inside with some good deals to be had but with little bit of cigarette smell near the freezer doors.
Among the Asian grocers in the area, Yuan Ming supermarket is a hidden gem that is often overlooked.
Spaceous Asian supermarket in Mississauga. Good selection of fresh fruits and vegetables.
It's been a while, they did lots of renovations.. I like the new look and more cleaner
Store completely renovated & freshened up. Does not smell anymore
This is a good place to find asian food and a reasonable price.
One of the best grocery chinese store in town of Mississauga
Nice Chinese market I used to go there for bamboo plants.
They Charge extra for using debit or credit for payment.
Great selection, very fresh produce, and good prices.
Clean. Great prices. Variety of products
lots of food and reasonable price
Cheaper food and clean gud smell
Not bad some rare items here
