The Zeitgeist, from my understanding, appeared to be an art gallery and office hybrid where visitors can browse through the current events of art while the employees were working at their desks in the non-visitor areas. Though my partner and I weren't greeted by any staff upon entering the gallery, there were enough info boards and directions displayed as to where we go. There's a parking lot right beside the building, where the 1st hour is free. The area of the gallery was no bigger than a highschool gym, but still carried many artworks that alternate throughout the season and events that are changing. I really enjoyed the pull-out displays that were lined just behind the main desk; it's a creative way to condense all the art frames into one place, with the convenience of pulling one or multiple out to look at. They all came with price tags attached, too, so this place also appears to be a business. The time of us browsing through here lasted no more than 30 mins. There is also a donut shop just to the right. The overall cleanliness and organization of the place is also commendable, and being less crowded when we visited. Anybody who is interested in art galleries needs to stop by here, at least, to take a look at what the Zeitgeist has to show! It's one of the best art galleries around, with free admission too!
This is a dual business with a gallery space featuring an artist as the primary displayed show. It’s nice for the artist, I’m sure, to be featured but it would have been nice to see more art on display. I was able to pull out display racks from previously featured art but I had to dig for it. Be sure to put a parking slip in your car window before going in. I didn’t and got a $55 parking fine for the “free parking up to an hour” even though I was only parked for 40 minutes.
We went to Zeitgeist Gallery to see Karen Seapker's art. It was my first visit, though I plan to go again. The gallery is pleasantly understated and the paintings well placed. There are also easily moved racks with additional art to view. Parking is adjacent. The only drawback for me was the lack of seating so I could study Ms. Seapker's art in comfort (concrete floor).
Well-run gallery representing talented local and national artists. I've purchased a couple of things from them and been very happy. I am particularly fond of the work of Lain York, who helps run the gallery. One Lain's pieces we purchased was selected for inclusion in a show of local artists at the Frist Museum.
Long-standing contemporary art gallery + event space + architecture studio. Irreplaceable, vital Nashville institution. And their new space on Hagan St is massive and beautiful - and just down the hill from the former Hillsboro Village location. Premier Nashville cultural institution.
Great show up right now. Sculptures are very interesting and the paintings are really incredible. Then We went to the Frist to see the show from LACMA.Very proud of Nashville art tonight
This is a nice, large gallery with plenty of space for all types of artwork. Their current show is great and they have really nice storage for commissioned pieces.
Unpretentious. Intersting exhibit. Lain was helpful, knowledgable about the artist community and made our day with the local gallery map. Spacebo drug!
Great place. Saw the ‘Everyday Heroes’ winner, Max Caulfield, and she was quite the artist.
Great art work and photography, but it is a smaller collection then lead on to be.
Super cool gallery. Good to visit at least once a month for art walk.
Great art gallery. Professional and welcoming personnel.
Every show I have gone too is amazing
